Don and his team are absolutely amazing! They made learning to scuba easy to grasp and fun throughout the whole process! From the moment I arrived, his team was incredibly professional and courteous. Overall, excellent experience learning how to Scuba with Don and team! Started with Try Scuba which really helped to understand the basics before deciding to proceed with the courses. A few weeks later, completed the e-learning sessions and then finished the pool classes. Appreciated the time Don took to demonstrate each activity above water and then underwater before it was our turn. Don had great patience and having a 5 students to 2 teacher ratio felt very comfortable. Lastly, Don allowed me to try several masks in the pool to find the best fit and easiest to clear. I ended up purchasing my favorite with his guidance at the dive shop. Looking forward to the next step: Open water certification. Thanks Breezeway Bubbles!

I dont often write reviews but I really enjoyed the Open Water Diver Scuba training that Breezeway offered. Don was so responsive to my e-mails, and my instructors Cassi, Lisa, and others were great. Excellent way to learn to dive. I knew nothing about SCUBA but was looking for something new to learn. Don, Cassie and the rest of the team made my journey from knowing nothing to becoming Advanced Open Water certified an amazing experience. They made if fun, and also made sure I was confident and safe before declaring me certified to dive. Everyone Ive met through BB has been so amazing and kind and generous; I feel like Ive found a new family here.My husband and I started out with the Try SCUBA session and, from there, we went on to do the PADI certified academic lessons, pool lessons, and did our Open Water certification dives on the BB group trip to Cozumel this year!The instructors are all amazing and attentive and highly informative. They help you find the right equipment before renting and/or buying it and, when you do make a purchase, the prices are unbeatable. Every question is answered with honesty, patience, and professionalism.The trip to Cozumel was expertly planned to accommodate newbies just as much as seasoned divers. Don and crew made sure I was as prepared for the real deal as possible and, when I finally made it to the ocean, I felt 100% safe and cared for. When I had buoyancy issues on my first dive, Don literally made sure he or another experienced diver held my hand throughout the experience. Even with unexpected airline cancellations, Don made sure we were all taken care of and made it back home to Madison safe and sound. We didnt have to worry about anything except making sure we enjoyed ourselves!Diving is an amazing experience, giving you access to a completely different view of the world. I highly recommend taking them up on everything they have to offer!

Don, Rich, and the entire Breezeway staff are fantastic people at what they do. If you are in need of a scuba certification in the Madison area, look no further. They were able to get me certified in under 2 weeks right before my trip, and I couldnt be more thankful. The instruction was easy to follow, thorough, and the staff was always pleasant to work with. Its also much cheaper to get certified here versus at your scuba destination!At the end of the class we had the chance to buy scuba gear, of which I found the pricing to me very competitive and actually cheaper than buying the gear on Amazon. I only did the pool training for the Open Water Diver certification and not the open water dives, but the whole team is very friendly and accommodating during the lessons. They were very adamant that students try on a multitude of masks to see which one would fit their face best, rather than trying to push a sale through. Also, they were more than willing to let students sit out if they were having trouble and reviewed the skills with them one-on-one at their own pace - they even offered access to the pool on a different weekend to practice if desired. I cant imagine a better environment to learn to dive!

For a long time I have wanted to get scuba certified. I did a lot of searching online and choose Breezeway Bubbles because their reviews were good. The reviews were completely correct.Don and team is very organized, sending info by email before the class making sure I knew what to expect and what do to before class. He even mailed me my books since I live about 60 miles away. The classroom work was very well done, organized, and communicated in an effective manner. The hands on, pool work and lake dives was equally great. They had plenty of staff and the class personalized attention, all the skills were explained, then demonstrated, then we learned the skills ourselves. All questions were answered and if you wanted more work on specific skills they were very accommodating. They had all the appropriate and advanced gear to use during the practical application work, including the actual computer you’d use on a dive.Getting my scuba certification was such a wonderful experience. If you want a great experience getting your scuba certification you should go to Breezeway Bubbles.

We had our 11 year old daughter get open water certified with Don and she loved it! He was great with her and was fantastic with communicating the whole process. Wonderful staff and good retail selection. I would recommend them and will use them in the future for further scuba training.

Excellent experience. After 17 years of teaching scuba, Don has it down to a science. He is very knowledgeable and extremely efficient. He made the classroom portion as painless as possible, and the pool was fun. He clearly enjoys what he is doing! I would highly recommend this class to anyone.

By far the best Dive Shop in Madison! Ive been wanting to become certified for years but my unusual and busy schedule made it difficult. The other shops would not be able to accommodate but Breezeway Bubbles made it possible right away! Very flexible and Great instruction!

Don was a great instructor and super accommodating. He was never a pushy salesman but was super honest and offered good prices. He explained each piece of equipment to buy and what were the best bargains. I even bought my mask online and he still helped me prevent it from fogging up. He obviously knows his stuff and is a great teacher as well (I did Open Water and bought my wetsuit, boots, rash guard and fins).

This is one of the best taught classes I have taken in a long time. An excellent instructor with diving knowledge from around the world. Small class sizes (we had 8 students to 2 instructors) with as much individual attention as you need. He provides everything to keep you safe AND warm while diving. What a great experience at an incredible price. I can even rent everything from him when I want to go to the lake or wherever. Definitely glad I went with Don at Breezeway Bubbles.

The instructors here are amazing. They really care about what they do, and it shows. The classes are a great deal as well. It costs less than you may think to begin scuba diving. I do have a minor criticism though. I have nothing but respect for him, but the owner can be a bit stern. His wonderful staff round everything out though.

Don and Cassie are great teachers. They focused on the important/practical material and did not waste time on the fluff. As others have pointed out, they are very accommodating. I took the course with my 12 year old son who initially had difficulty equalizing. They allowed him to come back to complete the pool portion at no additional cost (and with no hassle).Overall, we had a great experience and received excellent instruction. Don is a great instructor for both classroom materials and in the water. Classroom material was much easier to understand after Don gave specific examples and used drawings and demonstrations. Everyone who helped out at the pool was wonderful! Don, Justin and Adam are great teachers and their experience shows. The Breezeway Bubbles team acted like a family and I was happy to be a part of it for a weekend.

My wife and I went and did the academic and pool portions of the SCUBA certification in advance of a trip to Belize. Don and Casi were really helpful, down-to-earth and relaxed. They provided everything we could ask for including letting us take home different pieces of equipment to try out before purchasing. They also had a very nice group of staff help during the pool portion that were knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend them over a less personalized experience you might get at some other places.

Just finished my open water dive over the weekend. I am hooked! Cassie and Don are fantastic teachers and have a passion for teaching others. They are patient with children and people that arent quite catching on as quickly as others in certain skills. I am so confident in the two of them I am bringing my 15 year old niece from Iowa to get certified through them.

Don and Cassie were fantastic to work with. I went through the class and open water last fall. They did such a great job I had my two teenage kids go through. They were excellent teachers in the classroom, the pool and at the lake on the check out dives. They were upfront about all the costs and were VERY reasonable. I cant thank them enough.

You wont regret taking any lessons or excursions with this company. They are EXCELLENT instructors and a great group to travel with. Im a very anxious person and they put me at ease. I met one gentleman who has taken every execution they have offered, and there is a reason for that. They are SAFE and so enjoyable to be with. I just got back from my first excursion to Bonaire and my only disappointment is that is is over!!!Don is an excellent class room instructor. Im not good at paying attention in a class room situation, but he NEVER lost my interest. I had a very hard time with the swimming test for open water, because Im out of shape and a poor swimmer, but I passed the test because Don suggested a stroke that took much less effort. Cassie is so patient and calm; I wanted to give up, but they were so encouraging that I successfully obtained my open water and NItrox certification!I was nervous about traveling in a group for the first time, but EVERYONE one so incredibly kind, friendly and fun. I had severe motion sickness and Don was very helpful with that as well. I felt bad that I might be holding back the group because my dive skills werent very advanced, but Don and Jason (another excellent Dive master) made sure I was safe I kept up with the group without any trouble. I can hardly wait to go again!

This is the best place to get your scuba certification done. Period. My experience with Don and Casi has been nothing short of incredible. I have done Open Water, Advance and Rescue certifications with Breezeway and it has always been great fun. During my first pool session for open water, I wasnt able to do a few skills. Don had me do another pool session, so that I would be safe and actually learn the required skills, FOR FREE. My other instructors Joseph and Sarah were very patient and helped me with the pool and lake sessions. Also, if you get certified with Breezeway, you can buy all the equipment at special student prices. This is the only place to go for all your scuba needs. I would definitely recommend.

I cant imagine better scuba instructors than Don & Cassie! Not only were they helpful and thorough, but they made me feel comfortable and made sure the experience was fun too! I did the open water certification with them and took the Nitrox certification course as well. Don even made the in-class lessons interesting--I never got bored even though I had taken a scuba class before in college. He has TONS of experience, great stories, and an excellent teaching method. Even the more timid/hesitant students in my class felt comfortable and confident due to Dons training and guidance. The small class size (8 people) and reasonable price is the icing on the cake--such a great value. I highly recommend Breezeway Bubbles! Madison is really lucky to have such a great place to learn how to dive and even do more advanced scuba training!

My wife and I took did our open water cert with Don & Cassie and they were GREAT! When they say they specialize in the beginning diver, they really do. My wife had some issues getting through the open water dives, and Cassie was right on top of things. It took a couple attempts, but thanks to Cassies patience and encouragement, my wife is now certified.Since then, we have purchased most of our gear from Don. Over the course of the last year, we bought wetsuits, fins, boots, BCDs and regulators. We are budget-minded, and did lots of research and price shopping, but at the end of the day Don always had the best price AND the best value for our money. I will continue to pursue additional certifications, and I will definitely do it with Don & Cassie!

Don, Cassie and the the whole group of dive masters were great from beginning to end. I just finished up my open water dives and am completely certified now. I took the classrooms, pool dives, and open water dives with Don and he was patient, knowledgable, and extremely flexible. He will work with you to make sure you get everything done within your needed timeline. I chose Don due to the flexibility and I was more than impressed. Don is prompt in his responses and he truly cares about you learning and enjoying scuba. He offered trip suggestions for my trip to Cancun, and told me where to dive and what shop to go with along with dos and donts. Also, Don works with any age group. My dives and classrooms had ages from 12-50+ and Don worked with each and every one to ensure everyone learned the needed skills. Don also supplies all of your equipment for each dive, meaning outside of your classroom and dive fees, there is no capital outlay. This way you can test out his gear (which is in very good shape) and see what you like before you go out and make a purchase. I enjoyed the dives and the experience so much I hope to sign up for advanced open water classes next summer and nitrox. Best part, if you are in the Madison area and doing your dives, you dont have to dive in Lake Mendota like a lot of the other dive shops which is another huge plus!
