I am all for supporting LGSs but not here. They bait-n-jacked me. I called ahead of time and was quoted $25 for an Evolving Skies pre-release kit then was charged $30 when we were in the store. We came from out of town and scheduled/organized our trip into Madison around the kits. I mentioned it to the employee and they just said, Thats what they ring up as. The other local store was charging $25 and we could have easily went there instead but it wasnt worth another seperate trip.

Since quarantine I have been playing with a D&D group on Roll20. As nice as it is to have the compendium at hand, I hate trying to read up on something on my character sheet and accidentally having it pop up in group chat. I looked for the 5E Players Handbook on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, as well as Misty Mountain Games. Misty Mountain was better priced than Amazon. I selected delivery, and was not expecting it to show up at my door 30 minutes later! Thanks for the fast, friendly service!

Placed an order online for pikachu case files 24 total at 10 a piece. They cancelled my order and then bumped up the price to 20 a piece. Very bad business....Dont do business with them. Theyll scam you just like they did me.

I was very impressed with the selection of DnD figures. I had heard from a friend that the sales area was bigger here than at other game stores. That was definitely the case. Plus nearly every day they have some game group playing something. Ill definitely be going back for more figures in the future. This store comes highly recommended by me

The new ownership has made a huge difference. Weve been visiting since they moved to this location. But it was getting harder an harder to find what we wanted and our visits were becoming rare. We heard they were under new management so we took a trip down there. Its like a different store. They have a great selection, the game tables had people at them again, there were demos of the games out and the staff felt welcoming. We found a handful of things wed been looking for, and when i asked about something I didnt see stocked - the person I was talking to said hed order in a few copies for the shelves. thats a good approach. Well definitely be back again soon. The two things we judge a game store on are a wide selection of games (more than just Magic) and staff that is friendly and non-judgy (I hate when you get that are you sure you should be in here look). Misty Mountain now meets both those criteria. Well done.

This is just a real swanky place. Its my go-to game store. It has board games, paint supplies, RPGs, anything a gamer could ask for. In non-covid times they have tournaments. Puppy goes there a lot too!

Great place for playing CCGs and there were a *lot* of D&D games happening Thursday night. Great to see such a vibrant community of like-minded people coming together for a fun experience. Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back!

Amazing game shop, friendly staff and an excellent area in back for to play games. Ive seen everything from groups playing trading cards, to D&D, to a family enjoying a board game night, and I think that really speaks to the quality of the shop.

This is a really good game shop. They have a lot of games and their staff is very knowledgeable about most everything they have stocked. I was surprised by the amount of games that they have. There is also a very large play area for Magic, Pokemon and other assorted games. Ive played Heroclix here a number of times. It is very nice.

New owners have turned up the joy of gaming in this place, highly recommend a visit and play.

Misty Mountain is amazing. The staff are really helpful; one young man helped me pick out a present for my husband. Thursday night is Dungeons and Dragons and they are totally cool with a bunch of grown men taking over most of the store to play pretend stuff.

Really cool game store with awesome staff. They have tons of games you can demo and the staff will often play something with you. They also host game nights for various tabletops, card games, etc... they’ve been really generous with my particular group and have purposely kept stuff in stock for me.

They dont really keep much in stock despite their big size. Ive called to see if they had books for several different games, WoD, L5R, Exalted - and theyre either always out or simply just dont bother ordering them. It may be better for people who do miniature stuff.I recognize they can order things... but if I want to order things why not just shop from Amazon?

If you play Magic, the tournament structure is fine. However, they dont care about other card games. They refuse to restock packs for prize support, and kick people out when they close rather than wait 5 minutes for the tournament to finish. If you can find another store to play at, go there.

Its a large, well stocked gaming store with all the trappings one should expect. If youre in the mood for Magic: The Gathering or D&D, this is the place for you.

Even if youre not there to buy, play, or talk magic, you are welcomed. The guy whos usually behind the counter (handsome falcon main) will always acknowledge you if you ask him something, even if its about Yu-Gi-Oh or Pokemon. All employees Ive dealt with have tons of patience for casual players of any game.

Having played RPGs since the mid 70s, and having worked retail for the past thirty years, I am not usually surprised by the indifferent customer service often found in gaming stores. Though I have had decent encounters with some of the staff here, I will probably not be back after today. Ignored by the young man behind the counter when I walked in (he was loudly reading game text from a computer screen to a patron/friend), I was sneered at when I was finally acknowledged. Dealings with this particular clerk in the past have been much the same, and today it made the difference. Store management might want to consider some staffing adjustments. I have been hiring, training, and firing staff for retail sales for much of the last twenty years. This kid would not have made it past the first interview, and, if he had, would have been fired for treating any customer that way.

Very enjoyable. I see a lot of older reviews complaining about tidiness and rudeness. Very quickly upon entering it was made clear to me that they were under new ownership by one of ther regular gamers who was looking at similar products to me (pathfinder books). The person working the counter was helpful without making me feel pressured.I then sat down to play games. After an hour I decided I wanted a snack, and found a well stocked snack and soda machine. As time passed and nature worked its magic I found myself in need of a bathroom. I was relieved to find it clean, stocked and in working order.

Some people are salting the lack of options, but I dont actually feel such a thing. Theres plenty of games and events here, and if you dont see what you want, its easy enough to order it and pick it up at no extra charge (like I did with the Munchkin 8 expansion).Without Misty Mountain, I would be in a very tight circle, but WITH Misty, I have the ability to join up and participate in various events with other friendly players, such as the Friday Night Magic draft, and, on Thursdays, the Dungeons and Dragons Adventurers League.Plus, theres lots of games to choose from, especially popular series like Munchkin and Fluxx, and CCGs like MTG, Pokemon TCG, and Yu-Gi-Oh!. Just know that if Misty carries a game, they do their best to carry as many of its variants and expansions as possible.The one thing Id like to see is a tangible rewards program, possibly similar to Im Boards VP (Victory Points) program. I havent played a giant amount of events yet, but an incentive program would motivate me even more than I already am to play in events and purchase additional games.Overall, Misty Mountain Games makes a statement despite all the mixed reviews, and I owe the friendly staff and decent selection a few (dozen) more visits. But dont take my word for it. After all, Im just a Turtwig...
