The Catbird Seat Garden Center is a delightful place to visit.There are huge trees on the property that tower above the facility. There are short paths through the trees with various lawn decorations along the side. The decorations are in a variety of shapes and sizes.There are also numerous pots for flowers and plants. There is an excellent selection with a variety of prices.I found the layout to be colorful and very pleasant. We came for a small pot, found one the right shape and color after considering many options, and ended up with a perfect choice for less than $25.00. There was also a variety of bird seed to put out for wild birds in the garden shop which was on our shopping list.There are a wide variety of plants for lawns. We were not in the market for this at this time but walking around, the selection was plentiful.A great place to visit in Madison, Alabama!

Finally got the courage to do my flowerbed. Went in and was not greeted and completely ignored. I thought it was just a way of business, until another family - not my color - came in and it was a nice - hello, how are you and how can I help you. Wow! I said - well guess I’ll go to Lowe’s, and the lady said ok.It’s the worse feeling in the world to be mistreated and completely looked over. Did I look homeless, or poor, or like I should not be there… or do you just not service to people who look like me.Before you mistreat someone - and I can afford!!!!!

We will continue to visit the Catbird Seat for our gardening needs. We originally visited due to the great location, but we keep coming back for the customer service.Were new to gardening, and folks here are always happy to answer questions, provide suggestions, walk through your gardening plans with you, and even answer questions about your plants via their social media pages. I cant recommend them enough!

Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff! They guarantee their plants and will help you pick out plants for whatever your needs are; just tell them what you like, what your soil is like, and sunlight coverage in your yard. Their plants are high quality and always look great in our yard. My wife and I have been getting plants here for a couple of years now and will continue to do so!

One of the best selections. I was surprised considering they are significantly smaller than our areas larger nurseries. Considerably healthier plants. More friendly and more helpful staff, and even much more convenient.

Friendly and helpful folks. I have been there 4 times for pine straw and rose bush fertilizer. Prices are good and the selection is good too. A+

They have a posted mask requirement, yet none of their employees wear masks, even the ones working indoors. This place looked adorable whenever I would drive by and I wanted to love it. I am very disappointed.

Small, charming outdoor nursery with a small but charming indoor retail space. The employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. Andrea, in particular, spent much time with my wife and me discussing various shrubs and trees and their needs. Prices seem very reasonable. Selection was not strong, but we caught them in seasonal transition, which is a lower inventory period for them. Products offered include trees, shrubs, ornamentals, annuals, perennials, and succulents. We didnt see vegetables or herbs.

This nursery is my favorite and Id recommend it to anyone I know. The customer service is top-notch and they care for all of their plants very well. I also wouldnt hesitate to say that they probably have some of the best prices in Huntsville/Madison. Please support this local nursery because they absolutely deserve it!

Always incredibly friendly and helpful! Several times Ive brought in photos of the garden bed Im working on and a general idea of what I want to do, and with just a couple of questions theyre able to suggest perfect flowers and shrubs.

Good place of business. Went in there for some flat stones. They hooked me up. Explained all of the plants and trees. Ive price compared, Catbird is good on prices. I rolled in there one day and noticed they had a lot of aquatic vegetation back where the rock and stones are. Asked how much for hardy lilies. They told me to take a handful. Asked them again how much they would cost. They told me to take a handful and gave me a bag to put them in. Good business, good management, good company.

I purchased almost $100 worth of goods from this place, while I was loading my plants in to my truck a lady approached me... she asked me if I needed help paying for the items I had... I assumed she meant help loading the plants into my truck. I told her I was ok. We went back and forth a couple times the whole time I was confused... then as I reassess my surroundings, she had a sharp bladed hand shovel In her hand and maybe a phone, Im unsure about the phone... I then realize she is not offering help, she was being confrontational... she is accusing me of shoplifting, I told her I paid for the plants and she told me she knows that I did not. I am being really nice with this story, she was very rude as she was very sure she was talking to a shop lifter... I really enjoyed going to this nursery since it is so close to my house, Im sure i will go back... maybe next year. This experience happened a couple months ago and it has slowly been eating at me... what was she going to do with that shovel? When I realized she was accusing me of stealing the plants i showed her my receipt proving I paid for the items... next time, instead of being confrontational just ask for the receipt! It is perfectly ok to ask anyone for a receipt, its not ok to treat people like criminals based on a hunch. 3 stars only because this nursery is a really cool place to visit... as long as you dont have to deal with her.

Highly recommend. Wonderful experience. We received information on pros and cons of trees from a patient and kind employee. They seem generally interested in making sure you are happy with your purchase. Good variety of plants - another customer was really happy because he purchased a hard to find plant there.

I drive all the way from New Market to here and now Owens Cross Roads now I have never had a plant die that I have gotten here. They are extremely nice and honest !!! Love this place!!!!

Great place with very friendly employees. My wife and I are not big gardeners, but wanted to spruce up our yard/planters. We told the gentleman (I believe his name was Corey?) that we are very inexperienced and he was glad to help us out. He explained how the garden center is laid out and what type of plants would be good for different amounts of sunlight. Once we selected plants we liked, he looked them over and made sure they were the right type for the amount of sun/shade they would have. We will definitely be going back in the future.
