First experience a couple weeks ago. At 1st, its a lot to take in. Worked my way back to front. Pick a cart and go to town!! It was like Christmas, the further down in a cart I went, the better the treasures!! LOL Wear gloves in or youll walk out with filthy hands. Bought a garbage bag of clothes for $11. Cant go wrong!! Has fun!!!! ✌
It would be nice, (and actually compliant with the law) if they had 36 inch wide isles for disabled people.
This place is a blessing to our community. You have to be aware that it’s not a standard consignment store! Things are separated by type of item, but are in bins where you can dig (hence the name) and find rare, interesting pieces. As an artist, I don’t have unlimited income to make pieces but this is a great place, and my money always goes far here.
Love visiting this place since my local outlet closed down, does anyone know if you buy bales from here?
I love to go there buy unique chairs and furniture and fix them for my home. Amazing prices and super friendly and polite staff
Great place to save if you dont mind a little extra work. If youre okay with digging through bins and tables of textiles (clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, rugs, table runners, etc.), housewares, toys, and everything else leftover from the regular St. Vinnys stores, then you can get some amazing deals. Ive gotten several pieces of furniture that just needed to be cleaned up in order to have beautiful solid wood additions to my new house, and they were all under $10. Ive also gotten some clothing items brand new with the tags still on, and real oil paintings. You just have to be willing to invest the time and effort to forage for the bargins.
Visits here aren’t really about shopping, but more like a treasure hunt! Clothing items are not separated, but instead are in large bins. There are always fantastic finds if you’re willing to spend the time digging. No shortage of clothes or linens. The employees are pretty friendly, no one seems angry to be at work. Parking can be a hassle if you’re shopping on half-priced Wednesdays.
After getting over the initial shock of what the heck is going on I gingerly made my around, looking mostly at the people and what they were doing. Once I made it to the area with household items, I found a treasure cookie jar. That was it, in I dove. Be careful though there is lots of broken glass so dont reach in with abandon. Look carefully and poke around. The price is right, and if you like treasure hunting this place is it. The location is well defined by the street sign. Parking depends on the day and time of day. It is dusty in their with all of the rummaging going on. Have fun!!If you deem this review helpful, please give it a like. Thank you.
I went it 7/2011-I was in the store today and workers were throwing out bins and bins of stuff. I asked them what they were doing and they said emptying bins in the store, throwing them in the dumpster, so they could bring new stuff in.This is such a waste.Do people that donate realize their nice things are being thrown away? This unused stuff can be donated to the homeless or animal shelters for good use.Im very upset and disappointed with this store. Some items are good and cheap, but you have to dig for it because nothing is organized in a decent way. I will not shop here again.
Its a fun treasure hunt. You never know what you will find
I am truly obsessed with this place! You definitely have to work/dig to find good items but thats part of the fun! This store is for the true bargain shopper, if a deal is not that important to you then i would not suggest going to this store you will be horrified.
I love St. Vincent De Paul Stores and Dig is no exception. Most of the time my visits to this location are punctuated with friendly service from the cashier. My most recent visit was a rare (hopefully) exception. I look forward to great interactions during future visits so I can improve my rating.
This place is pretty awesome if you dont mind getting a little dirty. Bring some work gloves too if you are looking for anything other than clothes. Theres good amounts of broken stuff in everything. Cheap this is, safe it is not. You can find some good furniture and stuff sometimes, but the true treasure trove is the palettes of clothing and blankets. It can take all day to sift through every single one looking for what you like, and you might find 2 items or you might find a mountain of stuff. Either way, you probably arent going to pay more than a few bucks for your find. They charge by the pound, so its the only place on the world that charges more for mens clothes than for womens.
The first time I went here I was really put off. I was looking for something specific and it was a no go. Then I returned w some friends and a different thought process. We had so much fun looking thru stuff and finding stuff it was a great time! Dont go w too specific of an idea.. like size 6 jeans. Go looking for clothes or stuff for a project... Halloween costume inspiration. Furniture projects. Just go and enjoy the experience and the hunt.
Always have loved Dig n Save. Used to frequent when they first opened way back when, moved out of state for awhile, and when I returned didnt go for some reason. I recently went back and am kicking myself in the rear for taking them out of the rotation. You never what you will find there, and the prices are even cheaper than the normal resale shops.
Im in love with this store, I stop here weekly. On Wednesdays, I buy bulk blankets for only 62.5 cents per pound then take em home to wash them & hand out to the homeless community.Even other days textiles are only $1.62 a pound and hardwares like vases & dishes are only 50 cents a pound. Fun place.Today I bought a pair of ice skates for only a buck.😄
ARTIST PARADISE. I am often looking for things I am going to tear apart or paint over for art pieces so this place is AWESOME. You can buy whatever you want since the prices are cheap - even for artists and folks without much money. I get lots of fabric from the linens bins, leather from coats, dresses Im going to take apart, lamp parts, frames, etc. Often I find a few things that are great as-is, too! Ive been using my $5 vacuum for years. Thanks!
This is not a normal thrift store. Closest frame of reference is if youve ever been to a Goodwill Outlet.Clothes and housewares are all in giant bins, you dig through them, and purchase items by the pound.Electronics and furniture are all set prices (there are signs posted-- for example, all lamps $3). Nothing is guaranteed. My understanding is they sell the castaways from all the other thrift stores. Some stuff may be damaged, some of it just didnt sell. You can still find price tags from when they tried to sell it for more elsewhere.Dont be shy about getting your hands dirty. Literally. Some people wear gloves. Its not disgusting but there is a lot of thrift store dust. There are often huge crowds and its push or be pushed. Also, anything good sells QUICKLY so this is the kind of place you have to check several times a week if you want to find anything amazing. I do.
Always fun to explore never know what u might find. Prices are great. A great place to look for anything.
I shop at St. Vinnies Dig and Save quite often. There is always something there that I can make use of. I buy for myself and my place of work that is a UW creative work space on a tight budget. Customers there are good and the staff has always been great. Try it.....youll like it.
Going to dig and save is always an adventure. I bought a grocery bag of colorful printed clothing. In going to cut them up and sew ! coasters tote bags and drawstring bags for stocking stuffers.
Once you go in-good luck getting out! Lol! LOVE!
Lots to dig through for sure ;) not easy to navigate a cart between the bins and other thrifters. Friendly staff. Marie was nice.Goodwill has an outlet store in Appleton, Wisconsin. Same concept, much easier to navigate with a cart.
I really enjoy this shopping experience. The name is exactly what it is; dig and save. There are large bins full of items. You then look through them, they weight your cart and you pay by the pound. The employees are a bit rude but its always busy in there and someone is always making a mess; I am sure it is stressful.
Dont go by yourself. If you looking for your pant size good luck. Random clothes in giant bins the most ridiculous time consuming shopping experience. Ill pay a higher price for a dope in a warehouse to sort and hang. Other goods easy to go through.
This place is crazy! If you like to bargain hunt be prepared to actually dig. Great piles of stuff, good clothing
I love this store, its like a treasure hunt every time Im here. I never know what Ill find but I always find something. This is my shopping therapy
There is always something interesting here. You can easy spend a couple hours digging through the bins and finding great items.
Digging through the clothes wasnt so bad but be very very careful in the miscellaneous section. Id definitely go again but Ill be taking gloves to wear.
Absolutely amazing deals and steals highly recommended. Brand name clothes and items available to buy by the pound.
If you like to recycle if youre into saving my the Earth this is the place for you you dig and save everything is sold by the pound there is lots of treasures to be found error Happy hunting
Great deals and goods are bountiful at the right place and time! I’ve been a steady regular for several years now.
Great place to get items for little of nothing. Clothes are $1.00 per lb or 0.50 on Wednesdays. Other items are by lbs and are really inexpensive.
Busy but worth going. The digging was fun cause it was an adventure
Cant really say bad things about this place. I was introduced by my friend to this hidden gem. At first I simply could not believe one could buy things in pound. There are some exceptions, however. Electronics are priced $1/$2 each. Some are even $5 (like converter boxes). But most are sold by weight! You will be amazed what you can find in the pile! Just need to keep digging. One shopper even found a bar of silver worth $500! My great find had been a vintage tool box that was worth $200! As with rest of the thrift store policy, all sales are final so you may end up with items that may not work. Make sure to test them before buying.
This place is always so much fun to go to. You never know what you will find and the deals are always great.
Use to be my fav store but wow they have jacked the prices up. I understand you notice resellers but why would any buy from here now
I give it five stars as its the best for what it is. Its a little dirty and very rough around the edges, even for a thrift store, but theres nowhere else, even in the thrift store world with better deals.
$1 per pound. Not bad. Clothes and linen are in large bin. Have to fish through them. And the back has the furnitures, home decor stuff.
Three Words, Lots Of Stuff. Bring your bottle of hand sanitizer and get ready to seriously ... Dig and Save. Two huge rooms of pretty much everything. Plus, you buy stuff based on the pound. Yes, they actually weigh most of the stuff you find and charge you accordingly. I found an old North Face Exo Skeleton hiking pack, a Dazzle Video input device, 4 leather belts, a hockey helmet, and a multi hat holder for less than 3 bucks. What?!?! Its well worth the visit and your dollars go to a great cause, but remember, bring your hand sanitizer.
Good place to find antique stuff, but this place doesn’t sort clothing for men and women.
If you lack patience or time dont come here; I also wouldnt advise it if you want something specific. All three tend to be the case for me, but if you like digging through a bunch of stuff you dont want to find something you do, this is the place for you.
You can always find a gem at the dig. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms.
This place isnt clean, and it has some questionable people in it, however, it has some hidden gems here quite often. Since it is a Dig & Save Outlet, prices are dirt cheap. Found some excellent vintage stereo equipment next to nothing, and some great furniture here. The clothing bins I would never recommend. Go to a normal thrift store for clothes, come here for everything else.
Need cloths fast and priced goodbed sheets sweaters tons of bins to dig through
Great For Hunting for resale items. Really great for Crafty Custom etsy kind of folk. Costume makers and cosplayers.
I love thrifting here! Great prices and a super cool experience.
Very friendlyLow pricesFurniture in good shapeDo have to pick thru bins. Nothing on hangers easy enough
This place is fun for unique finds. You need time to dig to find treasures
You really do have to dig, but you can find some incredible buys!
You can find a lot of good stuff there. And its extremely cheap.
You have to get there early and wear a mask cause its pretty dusty. Clothes and hkuse hold items.
An amazing place to find amazing items if you have a day to spend browsing. I would suggest not bringing kids as theyll bug you to leave from boredom.
Bring hand sanitizer.but you can find cool stuff for next to nothing.sometimes nice clothes.
Lets be clear, this is not my first thrift outlet experience so I wasnt extremely surprised when I first walked in. But this store had nothing but junk. Wouldnt recommend and I wont return.
Love this place. They have the best staff.
Always wishing that they could sort through their donations and have the building more itemized if nothing more than by Mens, Womens and Children. That would make a trip there not last 4-5 hrs.
$1 a pound for clothes. Have to dig in big bins. Household items and furniture available at reasonable prices.
If you are patient you can find some high quality treasures for so cheap
Love dig and save. Cheaper than cheap, and you can find real treasures if you dig hard enough
Dirtier then most thrift stores, but awesome prices. Bring gloves if your a neat freak and wash what ever you buy.
If youre prepared to search you can find some great deals. The price is always right!!
Dirty messy and loud. But if youre on a budget and need clothes...knock yourself out. Youll definitely find a lot for only a few bucks.
Great place can always find something you can use
It was great I had fun plenty of bargains
Just keep digging... the good stuff is at the bottom
Its exactly what youd expect. Bins upon Bins stuff with clothing and housewares. Some furniture. Clothing is bought by the pound, other things are priced.
So dirty and overcrowded, everything is just thrown in big bins and I feel like its just too much work to find something that you like and hope it just happens to fit you.
Big bins that you can dig through, pretty fun.
It is very cheap and a lot of choices but you just have to be extra patient
Fun place never know what you will find
Dig around in a bunch of junk, because one persons trash is anothers treasure! $1.00/lb for clothing and 35¢/lb for most other things.
Awesome prices for used items, especially clothes.
Awesome place to get clothes and stuff cheap
Never left empty handed...price is right...can make offers on the furniture..people are always friendly...just bring your apparatus for digging or your hands well be sore and fingernails broken
The staff over at dig & save yell@ you?
Favorite thrift store in dane County.
Favorite place to find nice clothes!
This is a Church based thrift store for used household goods sold very cheap, even clothes for$1 per pound.
Hard to find stuf but cheap when you can find one
Not for profit location, I like supporting local organizations.
Cheap kitsch, loads of stuff, and friendly people.
Always an adventure never know what youre going to find
For a good time, try the Dig N Save!
Best treasures ever!
Amazing deals!
Lots of stuff and bargains if you have time to go through everything.
Treasure hunts are always fun!
Next level thrifting! It was 99 cents!
A family favorite for many years
Too hot and crowded.
I LOVE this place!
This place is awesome.
Huge selection for low cost
