I was excited to visit but I walked in, 1st lady rolled her eyes and looked down! No one else even spoke although there were plenty of workers in the building. I didn’t feel welcome. They did have nice fabrics but I only shop where I feel welcome!

I would like to compliment the Sewing Studio in Maitland, Florida. I find it’s like going into a candy store without the calories. They stock a wide range of beautiful fabrics and quality purse hardware. The salesforce is so helpful and friendly. If I can’t find exactly what I’m looking for, they lead me right to it.I feel we are so fortunate to have this wonderful store in our area. Thank you so much.

I always find good quality, a little unusual, and classy fabric here. This store is the first place I come for buttons because they have such a large variety and any type of notions youll need. My go to store.

This is where I come to get unwound. We all love the fabrics and to get inspired. For me I could just sit in the machine area all day, because it takes me back to my childhood visiting the local Singer store at the Colonial Plaza. Im lucky enough to live 10 minutes from this amazing store! I truly cant speak highly enough about every one of the staff members that works here. They are the nicest people! Theyre always ready to help in any way they can. They also have the most beautiful fabric that is organized very neatly which makes finding what youre looking for easy and so fun! Literally anything else you could need for your sewing or embroidery projects, theyve got it. Ive bought two machines from here as well and am so happy with both of them! If youre local, this is a must visit shop for sure! And if you arent.... you should definitely order online! 😁

I have been a customer here for over 15 years. It is a family owned shop with friendly staff and an amazing fabric selection! There has never been a time I visited that I couldnt find exactly what I was looking for or needed. Many times, I end up finding much more fabric I didnt even know I had to have because they are all so beautiful and fun! Every time I visit, I leave inspired, excited, and ready to sew something new.

I think they overcharged me to fix my machine. I declined the $99.99 full service, which was done in 2020. It was $39 bench fee to look at it and diagnose + $40 labor fee for 30 min to remove thread, binding the feed system. Total over $85.

My favorite fabric place, they organize by the collection not by color until you get to the solids and batiks. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, if they don’t know they ask they don’t guess.Sewing basics one, don’t know why I waited for ever but truly loved it. Can’t wait for the next class schedule every 3 months. Look for their annual sale 40% off and get there early. I got a peach pie recipe from a lovely lady while waiting in line to check out.

The tailor needed specific fabric to reconstruct my wedding dress. I was tasked with obtaining the fabric ASAP if I wanted the dress done on time. Never bought fabric before so I came in with my dress. All of the associates were very accommodating and helpful. I was able to get one-on-one assistance locating the fabric which gave this frantic bride a lot more confidence, it was quick, easy and matched up perfect! So thankful for this shop!

Great shop the staff is so helpful. They have classes for many different types of sewing. Nice selection if fabrics and notions and supplies needed to sew or quilt or embroidery. The Babylock machines are the best snd reosir stsff there to if you should need that.

While visiting from Tennessee, my husband took me to this store. He liked having the husband zone while I looked around. Very thoughtful, ladies. Wish I had more time to spend there. The selection was incredible, prices reasonable, and staff very polite and helpful. I will add them to my favorites in case I need to order quality fabric. They are also doing a good job of dealing with Covid. These are tough times for suppliers and customers. Keep up the good work.

I’ve been coming here for years and I hate having to give a bad review because some of the employees here are so sweet and helpful, they have awesome classes, and they do have an amazing fabric selection. But several of the ladies who work here have such an awful and cold attitude, I have caught the woman with the long braid trying to overcharge me on multiple occasions (which worries me that they are doing this to older customers who may not be paying attention), and I feel uncomfortable every time I go in the store. Will not be coming back here again.

Mediocre fabric shop. Traditional fabrics nothing trendy. A little messy as fabrics aren’t pinned and are wrinkly. My big complaint is I asked for help and 2 ladies barely helped me. They were rude and cold. I guess I wasn’t in the age range to be in their “click” or a valuable customer, as I’m a young designer. Finally, I was over charged and didn’t notice till I got home. Will not be back and will pay the shipping to support the small online Etsy fabric shops.

Ive been shopping at this store since 1979! Great woven and specialty fabric selection. Great classes. Great sewing machine repair. Unfortunately I shop there these days. I did have to stop by this past weekend and found staff and customers do not social distance throughout the store. Staff wears designer masks, yet they dont cover the nose well if at all. Its hard to navigate the main aisle at the front of the store because sales people clog it talking with potential machine buyers. Several times, I came within inches of just trying to get by someone when they simply didnt move and there was no other way without running into the same clogged aisles. I wont be going back until next year for sure. Makes me sad because its been my favorite place for over 30 years.

Ive always loved shopping here. Ordering online is super easy, and they have such an incredible selection of machines, equipment, fasteners, thread, etc. The variety they have in every department is incredible, and most of the employees really go above and beyond.

Great experience with my visit. Service is excellent and they carry a large variety of fabrics. They also are very informed about the numerous sewing machines that they carry. Of all the fabric/sewing machine establishments Ive been to, this was the best. They should give lessons to other fabric stores. Will be back.

I have a 1970s singer sewing machine that I bought used in the early 1990s. I had it serviced once about 18 years ago. I had replaced a few gears myself over the years, but couldnt get it dialed in properly. I took it in to the Sewing Studio and Andy, their repair guy, did an absolutely amazing job servicing it. It runs smoother and better than it ever has since Ive owned it. Its like a brand new sewing machine! I know I will be able to continue to use it for decades to come!

Im love going here. The large selections of fabric just make my mind flood with ideas, while walking through the aisles.i like that I get help to find items and yet left alone to search the vast amounts of beautiful fabric. Thank you to all who work here.

I am obsessed with this store!! This place has super high quality fabrics, a knowledgable and helpful staff, and all the choices you could ever want! I’ve been in person a few times and have had a great experience and have also shopped their website and have done a phone order. When I am making a quilt I don’t ship anywhere else for my cottons.

Like many of the other reviews, I agree that the store is clean and well stocked. Extremely polite, and I was helped getting into the store by a greeter, and everybody was efficient and knew what they were doing. I dropped off a machine to be repaired and I’ll be picking it up in a few weeks. They were great!

The family which owns and manages this store cares so much about their community. They host numerous sewing clubs and sponsor multiple volunteer-sewing charity efforts. They have adopted our charity group, Helpertunity, and host us for monthly sew-in days as well as sponsor a basket of free sewing project-kits in a basket near their front register. While I do think the customer service could have been more welcoming upon my visit, maybe because I’m not in the typical target market of sewers, they do have the best sewing machinery I’ve seen in central Florida so far.

On a whim I stopped in to see if they carried the bobbins I need for my new machine. They really tried to help me, even though I hadn’t shopped there before. The store is full of everything you need to sew and many machines to become familiar with and make your own. Great selection of fabrics. Plus they have classes! Check it out. Great store with a ton of helpful and knowledgeable staff. I wasnt looking for anything particular this trip but the staff was there to help answer any questions. I found a really cool advent calendar that was on display in the store and unfortunately they were out of the fabric. The staff helped me look around for it and when it couldnt be found offered to place some on hold when it came in again. Amazing place with a lot of unique offerings. A must know place for the sewing enthusiast.

I stopped there today to know the place and inquire about the sewing classes they offer. I was very pleased with the staff. The ladies are very knowledgeable on any subject i asked. Tha lady at the check out counter went over the details on the clases and suggested to add my name on the waitng list. Sewing is getting to be the trend this days. I had a broken needle and no replacement. Also I forgot how to properly change the needle and what extra needle I would need! Most of all the half of the needle feel into my machine! Mark checked my machine ect and got me out the door!! I am so glad I bought my machine from here!!

It was my first time in the store and I was amazed with their selection and courtesy.

This place couldn’t be more wonderful. I always love coming in and seeing the same great ladies working. I’m a cosplayer and they always are game for bouncing ideas with me on what fabric or what technique to use. I’ve taken several advanced classes here and I always come away with great knowledge!

If youre under the age of 40, you arent going to get very good service. I used to come here a lot throughout my twenties, but the staff was so standoffish that I got tired of being ignored and looked at with suspicion. Its a shame, because they have some great fabrics, especially for special occasions.

The fabric effects I needed were very specific and I found them all in one place. The selection at the store is varied and of high quality. The sales representative who helped me, Ms. Donna, was a pleasure. She made several helpful suggestions reflecting her knowledge and pointed out many other fabric and trim possibilities in her efforts to ensure I get the best results in my project. A great experience overall.

I was looking for help on an issue I had with a Brother Scan n Cut machine. My daughter and I drove from the Florida east coast and we are so glad we did. Everyone there is so nice and helpful. They have a fantastic selection of all types of fabric, machines and accessories. Alvin is the Brother go-to guy and he very graciously looked a my machine, and offered to speak with Brother headquarters regarding the problems he was experiencing. The repair was something he could not do in the shop. After 2 trips to the store, I bought a trade-in Brother embroidery machine. The price was good and the customer service above and beyond excellent. A big shout-out to Alvin who worked with me long distance on the purchase of the machine and any operator error issues I may have had. Everyone in the store offers the same courteous help. It is worth the drive.

First thing I saw was a bunch of antique sewing machines that came out of old desktop type sewing machines whites singers the whole lot and many of them I have some myself that are just like them. Second they were very helpful immediately asked if I needed some help especially being a gentleman in a sewing studio and fabric shop! The people were great I found kind of what I needed and I was guessing already and Im sure Ill be back there many times again I have a 4.8 rating

We stopped here on our way back to Tallahassee and were greeted by Katie in the sewing machine section. She asked me what type of sewing I was going to be doing. I told her it was for doing quilts and we were looking at purchasing a Babylock as they are rated very well. She showed me a few machines that matched what I needed. She answered all of my questions and let me try the Katherine which I loved. She took her time explaining the workings on the machine. It was a very joyful experience and we will be back. They have a great fabric selection and different types of threads.

This place is amazing. They have a great selection of fabric, tons of classes, and the best staff. Unlike other local craft stores, I have never been treated with anything other than respect and genuine interest. They dont have the extreme coupon blasts other stores have, but their every day prices are much more reasonable.

The Sewing Studio has been a part of Central Florida as long as we can remember! The fabric selection is great, particularly for bridal needs, and the staff all take great care and pride in their work. Quilters, tailors, costumers, and more all flock there for the highest quality materials & machines. We have been customers or over two decades and have also purchased 8 sewing machines, sergers, etc from them. Repairs are very easy too. Best fabric store in the area!

If youre looking for a fabric they dont have they may even be able to special order it for you. Best shop in Central Florida! Bought a sewing machine here and I enjoyed working with the sales person. 2 months later I upgraded with a full credit for my prior machine (see store for their policy). Love the classes, the employees are extremely helpful and the selection is wonderful.

Wow great customer service! I came in with a sewing machine that had a minor issue that needed to be repaired. Their machinist was able to find the issue immediately and repair it quickly. All the staff was attentive and quick to help. I live in Clermont and it was so worth the drive for excellent service. You have earned a customer for life.

I had paid $150 to service my brother embroidery machine here because the bobbin winder was not functioning. When I got my machine back, I didnt immediately check to see if it was fixed. The reviews on this place had been fairly good at 4.6 stars on google so I trusted them. It wasnt until a couple weeks later that I turn my machine on and the bobbin winder jams within seconds. I bring it back to Sewing Studio and no apologies were given. I had asked for a partial refund and they just found one excuse or another to blame the issue on me. They insisted that it was jammed because I had broken it once I took it home or my husband wasnt clear on what needed to be fixed. So not only did not not issue me any refund, or apologize, they are suggesting that I am responsible for the mistake. Two days later, they finally figured out what the issue was. There was a piece deep within the bobbin winder that needed to be replaced. They ordered this on the house and fixed this. My husband had picked up the machine and no refund or apology were issued.Sewing machine repair really relies on trust because if you arent an expert, there is no way to tell what or anything at all has been done - and after this, I feel like the trust is definitely lacking here.

The staff is wonderful, the prices are great and what a huge selection! Im buying all of the fabric Im using for my wedding from here. I was shocked, however, when I learned they dont do any alterations or actual sewing there. I thought I could pick out the items for the belt for my dress and get it made there, and they made it seem like a ridiculous request. There are dozens of sewing machines there, it would just make sense to add that as an option at the store and make extra money that way. It would be nice to have a one-stop shop instead of then having to take it to a seamstress.

I had bought some embroidery software, some place else, and had a problem that I was not able to solve over several months and several phone calls. Even the place where I bought the software was not interested in helping me solve my problem. Basically they said I was out of luck and the $1600.00 I spent, was money down the drain. Needless to say, I do not frequent that establishment any longer. The owner of the Sewing Studio, where I did not purchase the software, was more than willing to help. She managed to get the area rep from the software company on the phone, explained my situation and before long the problem was solved. I was so pleased, I pretty much was in tears. I had spent so many frustrating hours trying to solve this problem and when she was able to help me I was OH SO HAPPY!!! Not only did she solve the problem, but took time out during the busy holidays to do so. That is just the way everyone is at the store. Like I said the customer service is GREAT! They are not pushy, but always willing to help. They have very reasonable prices throughout the store. The turn around time on machine maintenance is fabulous. The gentleman who works on the machines will do everything he can to finish as fast as possible. I cannot find fault with anything or anyone at this establishment. The owner called our personal home phone this morning to apologize, while I feel it was a great gesture it was offered too late. I will be removing this comment because my mother felt it was the correct and christian thing to do. However, I will not patronize this establishment again. I do wish them future success!

They have a large variety of fabric, however the staff is not helpful AT ALL!!!! I went in to purchase suiting fabric and asked where to find it. The lady just pointed and said in the back. After searching for a few minutes I found it however did not find exactly what I was looking for so I went in search of an employee (becauae NO ONE ever came to ask if I needed assistance) to ask if there were other options she only answered whatever you see is what is there (no additional questions or even help to inquire as to exactly what I was looking for). I wasnt sure of how many yards I would need for a long sleeve skiry suit so I once again asked for assistance and was just pointed to the pattern books and told to look in there and it would tell me....I work in the hospitality industry and just could NOT believe the level of service given in that place.Large variety of fabric with poor service.

I got back into sewing several years ago. The Sewing Studio was such a great help in helping get the right machines for my needs. Their staff has always been right there to help me with all my sewing needs.Sometime even over the phone while I am in a middle of a project. The classes and clubs are a great way to learn all different sewing techniques along with giving discounts. Plus the quality and selection of material are the best. My husband knows a gift cert. from the Sewing Studio will always get used and fits.

Been coming here more than 25 years. Bought fabric of all types, from formal to quilting, all types of notions, bought machines, had machines serviced and repaired. Have taken classes. Such a great store, cant imagine not having a place like this in our area.For anyone who complains about pricing I would say this is not a chain store and no one else sells top line fabric any cheaper. Come to the sales on publicized dates and use the coupons. Otherwise, just go to the chain stores if youre happy with bad fabric and chaos.Update: Just bought a Brother Quilt Club Series machine and couldnt be more pleased!

I found exactly what I was looking for. Also saw a few other pieces of material I will be coming back for. I will be coming as I find more things that need to be fixed or made. Youre employees were all helpful. Some more then others. Checking out was a good experience.

This place is a riff off to much money for anything, Jo ann is better price. This is my first time a the last time to go in this place . We got in to the place the big guy work in the keep following us like we are a theft. You better check first on Jo ann or Hobby Lobby is way more cheaper.

Bought a new sewing & embroidery machine last week! The Brother NS2750D. Great machine for sewing, havnt used the embroidery part yet. I replaced my 17 year old Pfaff 7570, with this new one. I usually go for quilting fabric & supplies, but their selections of gown, upholstery & athletic fabrics are also large & varied. And good prices are even better on sales days!
