In October of 2020 I brought my boat to Dixie Trolling Motors to have them mount my new to me trolling motor (valued at about $800) on my boat. I paid $375 for parts and labor, and they had it done in less than a week. Everything seemed fine when I took it out the first time. The very next time I took my boat out, no more than a week after having the work done the trolling motor broke off the bow of my boat. This occurred while I was riding through the channel so my trolling motor sunk to the bottom and I was not able to recover it. In the process of breaking off it left four holes in my deck of my boat where the screws ripped out. I contacted Dixie Trolling Motors and they told me this has never happened but they would replace my trolling motor and mount it for me free of charge. The following weeks I would contact them regularly to see what was going on and they seemed less and less interested in helping me as time went on. They eventually told me to find a new trolling motor because they didn’t have time to find a replacement. Not long after this they began telling me that they spoke with their lawyer and they were told they didn’t have to replace anything. Since then I have called leaving voicemails and messaged on Facebook countless times and they will not reply.

Went in looking to BUY a new trolling motor since i was so frustrated in mine, in 10 minutes the gentlemen working that day confirmed that the issue was not my motor and he sent me out with a list of items to check on the boat. He answered my call from when i had a question about what i was looking for and he had all the parts laid out and ready to go when i went back to pick up what i was missing. Highly recommend.

The worst of the worst. I cannot emphasize this enough, if you are looking to get your boat worked on or having a trolling motor installed I high recommend you look else where. These people are nothing more than low rent thieves and liars their poor quality work cost me not only my trolling motor but they wouldn’t even refund me for the installation fee. Thank god I wasnt injured when my trolling motor flew off the bow of my boat!
