Kurt was great and super helpful. To be honest, I went to 3 different Bike Shops and they were all fantastic. The reason why I purchased from Maple Grove Cycling was because they had the kind of bike I wanted and the others didnt. I really do like the fact that they will provide a free tune up each year for the life of the bike while under my ownership.
I went into the shop a couple of months ago. Im only sorry that I am just now getting to writing the review. The people who work here are so nice and extremely helpful even though I didnt buy anything. Unfortunately, I dont remember the names of the gentleman who helped me but both of them were very kind and helpful. We discovered that my second hand bike had a issue with the frame and the other fellow offered to help with securing my odometer to the frame. I cant recommend these people enough they are very nice and very very helpful! You would do yourself a big favor by going here for any of your cycling needs.
As someone new to both the area, and bicycling, I can’t rave enough about Maple Grove Cycling! They have been incredibly helpful and patient with our newbie questions, while offering great advice and support. When we needed a repair, Mark went super above and beyond to make sure we (and my bike) were happy - not judging too harshly on my choice of a Specialized and not a Trek. Lol. We’ll definitely be customers for a long time to come. Thanks guys!
We tried to buy Trek Verve 3 bicycles in April 2021, but inventory was gone until restocking in December 2021. We asked for their recommendation on where we could get buy bikes for this season. The sales rep gave us some other locations, and we purchased two bikes from a store across town. At the Maple Grove bicycle shop, we asked if our warranty work would be honored at their store, and they agreed it could. When we called to set up an appointment to have a warranty inspection done, the Maple Grove store manager said no, completely contradicting themselves. I have done business with this store, but in the future, I wont be bringing any of our four family bicycles back for service and will go out of my way to not recommend buying anything from this location.
Walked in and was immediately greeted and techs repaired 2 bikes of mine. Great customers service and everyone was friendly. The bikes were repaired while I waited and I was in and out in less than an hour. Repairs were affordable as well. I highly recommend coming here for repairs and shopping.
We actually found a bike that fit my wife during this crazy shortage of bikes and parts. We like that we can test drive the bike before buying, and that we get free tuneups for life with the bike. Great store. Great people
Last Tuesday evening, June 15, stopped to have a blown tire on my ancient 1970s vintage Viscount bicycle repaired. A tall young man(22-28?) with lots of dark hair and cool glasses helped us. I didnt find out his name, but I wish I would have. He delivered such thorough and timely service, that my husband and I remarked on it all the way home. We have expected good service at MG cycling in past years, but this young bike expert went above and beyond. Thanks so much. Kathleen & Vern Mathis (very satisfied customers)
The customer service was amazing. They were quick to help, Quick to repair/tune up and very reasonable priced. They also give valuations which is great for resale. I took in three bikes including a vintage Vista Cruiser and hardly recognized them after they were cleaned up and ready for the road. Now to get ahold of my mothers old bike and see what they can do with that one!
I took my 25 year old mountain bike into Maple Grove Cycling for some minor repairs. They took the time to find the parts (not an easy thing with the current parts shortage and my bike being so old), and had my bike all fixed up in a couple days. They did great work for a lower fee than I expected, and they are super easy to work with. Definitely recommend Maple Grove Cycling!
Always great service with highly knowledgeable staff
I have been ridding for 12 years. I ride a lot. Like 4,000 miles a year. I need a great Bike Shop. Maple Grove Cycle is the best
Maple Grove cycling is the best place to shop for new bikes and accessories! The staff is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and kind. This is the 4th bike (1 adult and 3 different kid bikes) we have bought from them and they have always hands wide selection of in stock bikes! Definitely recommend checking them out.
I loved how knowledgeable and helpful the sales associate was! Eber went above and beyond to make sure I was getting the right product. Thanks for the great service as always!
Cant say enough about the service department at Maple Grove Cycling. I had a chirping sound in my rear wheel and brought it in. Their service manager Doug worked tirelessly on diagnosing the problem. Checked the brakes, repacked bearings, checked spokes, etc. Eliminated everything and decided it was just a bad wheel. Negotiated with Trek directly and convinced them to replace it at no cost. Now thats service. Thanks Doug!
The staff is VERY helpful and knowledgeable. I walked in looking to buy my first mountain bike, and they walked me through all the technical specs of the bike, gave me a few tips, and helped me choose which accessories would be best to get me started. HIGHlY recommend, great service and great products!
Im completely new to the world of biking, so it was a huge relief when I came into the shop to buy my first Trek and the folks at MGC actually took the time to explain things to me -- why one bike is different from another, how to fit yourself for a bike, which accessories are needs vs. wants, etc. I learned a lot and really appreciated their level of expertise. On top of it all, they taught me how to load my bike into my car (I dont have a bike rack). Fantastic service all around, and lots of good-quality products to choose from. I will definitely be coming here for my future biking needs.
Amy was a fantastic resource especially to those of us who are new to the world of cycling. Knowledgeable, friendly, honest.
Very helpful with a brake adjustment needed from a bike I bought this spring so I could ride that day. Very helpful and courteous staff.
Great experience here. Two people helped me and were fantastic. I didnt catch the name of one, but the other was Eber. I had researched a bike before coming in and they were able to tell me more about it and reassure me that it would fit my needs.
Great service! My husband took his bike in today and they repaired it while we waited. Thanks Doug!!
Great customer service. Really enjoyed the consultation on what to fix and the options for my bike. Very friendly. Would do bike repair business with them again and look to them for a new bike.
Stopped by on a very busy day to have them look at the gears on my bike. They took my bike right in and said they would look at it. If it was a quick fix they would fix it. If not I would have to leave it. They adjusted the gears and I was on my way in less than 10 minutes. Great Service!
Outstanding customer service, communication, and interaction. Brought my bike in for a tune up, was told about 3 days to complete, and even with replacing my bottom bracket, cables, and front derailer, they were done in ONE DAY.Highly recommended.
The employees were friendly and helpful. The store was very clean and well organized. It was also very well stocked. I found exactly what I was looking for plus a few things that I didnt know I wanted! Overall a very good experience.
Extremely helpful, nice, and knowledgeable staff. I found a quality part here that I couldnt find on the internet. Bought a couple other things to support a local business. Not the cheapest, but in this case thats a good sign resulting in quality parts and a great staff. Ill be back.
Awesome experience. Thanks to Amy and Doug.
What a difference in going from Eriks to here. Everyone was so helpful and just a joy to be around. Went in and immediately had help finding exactly what I needed. This will be my permanent cycle shop.Edit 7/23/21 - went to see JC to have a bike fit session. One of the best experiences Ive had. He was super knowledgeable and helpful and took the time to make sure we got everything right. I would not just highly recommend him, but will probably starting marketing the guy now to anyone I know, even if they dont own a bike... Okay maybe not quite, but it was great. Thank you!
Excellent service, bottom bracket repair completed within 2 days, returned just in time for the weekend.
Great job replacing my tire! Super fast and great service!
Excellent service and help at Maple Grove Cycle!! They aren’t trying to sell you parts you don’t need—on two different occasions I have brought my bike in with trip computer problems, and they solved the issue on the spot with no charge! I wish there were more businesses like this!
Just dropped off a bike for some service and a new tire. Great service and staff!
I have never had a bad experience at Maple Grove Cycling, with my most recent service that ended up taking less than a week when I was being told upwards of 12 weeks by other shops I will never go to another bike shop. The staff are super helpful and knowledgeable
Awesome service both on the sales and service individuals we worked with. They were honest and Im happy we were able to buy one bike for my daughter, but I had to go to another place for mine simply because of the size I needed wasnt available.
We walked in to the shop and had no clue what to look for. Dan was patient and extremely helpful. He listened to us and helped us identify the bikes that would work best for us in our situation - and didnt try to sell us bikes that we didnt need.
These guys are just great!! Retail side and mechanics are easy to work with very professional, extremely impressed by their bike knowledge
Great customer service! Highly recommend.
I purchased a bike several years ago from them and had a good experience. Now I was in the the market again to upgrade my old fx7.3 a that I decided should become a back up ride from now on. I wanted a similar but newer version of what I had but Due to COVID delays my options were very limited my sales rep Amy did an excellent job explaining to me the difference types of bikes and options. Several times she helped me narrow down my needs and wants with what would be available as soon as possible. We came up with the Fx5 carbon and to be honest it was way more than what I was expecting to spend but after riding riding this BA bike for several weeks now I am beyond pleased. Everything from my times, speed and endurance are night and day compared to my old Trek. I have turned into a true fanatic of Trek, Maple Grove Cycle and of Amy’s professionalism. I will forever be a loyal maple grove Cycling customer from now on. Thank you!!!!
Great experience buying here!
5 star service, they will keep you and your bike on the road.
We had our bikes in for the their annual service recently. They did a great job and now we are ready for the snow to melt. They even did research for some a replacement part for our bike rack. Very friendly from talking on the phone to in person helping with questions. We will be back in March to shop for our daughters big girl bike.
Went to pick up my Trek 100 challenger stem cap and mug and ended up leaving with a sweet new hat. First time there and I’ll for sure be back.Everyone had a mask on and their system of allowing only so many people in at a time should be familiar to most. Appreciate them taking things seriously and doing their part!Definitely check them out!
I purchased a bike rack SARIS 03/26/2021. It was indicated to me that it will take 2 weeks to arrive. Called on 4/15 and I was told a shipment was getting to the store following week. Called on 04/22 and I was told that it would arrive on 5/3. I called on 05/7 to be informed that the new date was now 5/23. The response for the delay sums up to: you purchase from us but we are just the middle man and we cant commit to deliver the product . However they were quick to offer a more expensive option that was readily available in the store. We bought a bike and did maintenance with them up to this point. Suffice to say that we will never do business with them anymore. I prefer drive a little longer than go thru something like this again.
Fantastic service as always !
Consistent great products and even better service every time we come in.
This place is sales first and bikes second. Decent selection - but do your research beforehand if you’re purchasing a bike.
Very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. Dan took the time to go over everything with the bike to be sure it would be the right fit. I was impressed and will definitely go back to buy our next bike.
Cathy was awesome and genuine. Highly recommend the shop on their customer service alone.
No matter if your bike is new or old, Trek or not, everybody on staff is so deeply experienced that they have the skills and knowledge to take care of you. It is also evident that they truly care about your needs and enjoy helping you out, 10/10 shop & staff.
Doug went way above and beyond to fix an issue with my bike that other shops wouldn’t touch.Great work. The best customer service. The only bike shop I’ll work with from now on.
I was mostly impressed with how much the people at Maple Grove Cycling cared about my bike. I had a fairly complicated repair that required me to interact with my bike manufacturer. Mike & Doug helped me through it all, saved my spot in the repair line and when I had everything I needed to fix my bike they immediately got to it. Ive visited a few other local cycling shops and did not have a similar experience. Maple Grove Cycling was superior in service and cost. Thank you so much!
Been a customer of this shop for years, and they have NEVER let me down! Had an issue with my brake rotor today, and called in to inquire about a fix in the afternoon. I spoke with Doug who told me he could squeeze me into the schedule next morning if I dropped off my bike before they closed, which would have been more than reasonable. But when I told Doug I had plans to ride that day, he told me to bring it in right away and hed see if he could get me squared away. Because of Doug, I was able to meet up with my buddy as planned. After so much outstanding customer service from this place over the years, and Doug today going above and beyond to help me out, I felt it was time I gave this place the high praise they time and time again show me they deserve. Thank you so much!!!
Service department rocks!!!! Will recommend to everyone!!!
Unfailingly helpful and courteous. And they never try to sell you more than you need. We have sent a number of friends and family their way. Everyone has been pleased! 10+
Worst shop for women! Went there today and couldnt even get someone to help me. Almost walked out when FINALLY someone got someone to help. I was the only person in the shop at the time... Person who helped me barely gave me any info. I will go to a female friendly business next time...
Best bike store I’ve been in. Amy was great and very knowledgeable. Can’t wait to get my bike fitted.
Very helpful and courteous. Took time to explain things and answer questions.
Great, supportive and knowledgeable staff. Super array of options and great bikes!
Excellent for customer service and services! Real pros work here and have pride in their workmanship! Thank you !
Visited several bike shops which were all good but found the exact bike I was looking for at Maple Grove Cycling. I was helped by Dan the owner. He suggested the right e-bike for me. After a test ride and thinking it over I returned the next day to purchase along with some accessories. Very happy with the selected bike and the good service. If you are shopping around make sure you visit Maple Grove Cycling.
Just the best. Super helpful, knowledgeable staff. See Doug, he truly is a the best and I will go no-where else.
I had the pleasure of being serviced by Doug and Mike. I needed some basic tire repairs. They approach the job as if it was a $3,000 service job. Thorough, patient, respectful and very informative. Above all, they were sincere and honest. Treated me as if I was a relative. Very impressive!
As an MGC team member, I will say that this my all time favorite shop to work in. A well trained Service Team and knowledgeable Sales Staff.
The mechanics are top notch! Very friendly staff, knowledgeable on current products, with a quick service turnaround. I do, and have taken all my bikes to them over the years, with nothing but good experiences.
I stopped by for first time today. Nice Bike shop. Friendly staff.
Customer service & workmanship are awesome! I felt the staff & the store took the social distancing & mask-wearing seriously and I appreciated that. The guys with whom I connected were helpful, efficient, and expedient! My bike was ready BEFORE the estimated return date, so that was a plus as well. I highly recommend Maple Grove Cycling.
Helpful and friendly staff.
Great overall experience, knowledgeable staff and extremely helpful!
Bought my Trek bike here and had a wonderful experience. Great customer service, very friendly staff. Very pleased with my purchase and will definitely return in the future
HONEST! PROFESSIONAL! And know their stuff! Cant say enough good about them!
Bad experience turned around!!!! My wife and I purchased 2 new trek bikes from Jeff at Maple Grove Cycle. They had mine in stock but they had to order her’s. I was told it would take 2-3 days for it to come from Wisconsin. Long story short, after talking to 3 different people over the next two weeks I finally received the bike. When I picked up the bike, Gus the store manager helped me and I mentioned my experience. He apologized for the experience and offered to make it up to me. He gave me a works tune up on my old bike ($129 value) and gave me a discount on a new rim I needed for my old bike. When I brought my old bike in, Doug walked me through what they would do for the works tune up and any additional repairs needed. I would definitely recommend them. Plus, the new bikes come with annual tune ups for the life of the bike .
Excellent service. Finished 1 week ahead of time and assured me I did not need to a make all the repairs I had thought I needed to make. Love these guys!
Fair price. Top quality communication skills by all employees I bumped into. Professional.
I had a great experience at Maple Grove Cycling. They are very knowledgeable about their products and have a good maintenance program.
Absolutely amazing!!! We’ve been frequent customers of this shop for 4yrs now since we moved to Maple Grove for both our road bikes and mountain bikes. What started out as just convenience now has become necessity! We go out of our way wherever we are to buy and have things fixed here! Twice now we’ve popped tires or had things break in the middle of a ride and they’ve helped us on the spot and gotten us back out riding within 30mins!Can not say enough great things about this place and the employees!!
Update (Jun 7):I received a call last week from the shop asking me to take the bike back to have them check out the issue again. We spent some time together to isolate the issue and have the $30 part that caused the issue replaced. I moved across the country quite a lot for the last 10 years. I visited plenty of bike shops. Today is the first time I heard a bike shop staff apologized for misdiagnosed the issue previously. I am sincerely impressed with their candor and take ownership of their work.Original (May-19):My bike was skipping teeth at the highest gear under load. I dropped the bike off on May-2 to get it fixed. I was being told parts in the rims caused the issue and need to be replaced. I picked it up on May-9. The weather got chill again since then. I took the bike out on May-19 on a warm day for a ride. The ride feel smoother for sure as both rims were replaced at a cost of $143 (with labor, see pic). However.... the skipping teeth issue wasnt fixed.
Very knowledgeable staff.
Liked how they managed customers during Covid 19. The employee who asked me what I needed was very helpful and the seat cover I bought works great.
You are fantastic! Definitely my LBS of choice. I really appreciate the honesty of your techs (both times Ive come in asking if a part needed to be replaced, the answer was no), the kindness and support of the sales team, and the overall atmosphere of the bike shop. I hope all is well, and that your customers are being patient and understanding of everything youre doing right now to keep things chugging along in spite of everything.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and very professional. They are sincerely interested in helping solve your problems and steer you in the right direction as far as BIKES gear and maintenance. They ask the right questions and they give The right answers. Very pleased by the bikes I purchased the maintenance done and the gear I’ve purchased as well.
Great, honest staff with friendly service. The staff was very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, did a fantastic job of explaining all the features of the bikes and accessories we looked at and bought.
Great service every time. I love this shop.
Efficient, reliable and friendly service every time!
Place is always hopping but theyve never been rude or reluctant to help out. Great mechanics and team here. Mark especially embodies the ultimate tech, definitely an engineering mentality on him when it comes to resolving issues.Bravo to him
About 2 weeks ago my wife brought in our sons 16” rim from his park bike to have new bearings put into the hub. Doug from maple grove cycle went above and beyond And not only changed out the bearings, he fixed a broken spoke as well. I know this probably sounds like a small task but this particular rim and hub costs about $250 new to replace for this bike and we were worried the hub was shot. Doug not only walked my wife through the process, he kept to the time line he stated the work would be finished in and kept his word on the price. Our family is big into the BMX racing community and after this excellent experience we will bring our race bikes to Doug And maple grove cycle from now on. The service was top notch, their prices were very reasonable And I strongly recommend them. Thank you Doug for the great experience and saving us money in the long run.
Great experience. Very professional staff with a lot of experience . Price for tuneups was much cheaper than nearby “chain” store.I enjoyed talking with the staff about what they would do.
I went in for my bike checkup and I believe it was the owner who helped me out. Extremely kind, 5 star service.
Always impressed with customer service.
Ordered a pair of cycling shorts online that were delivered extra-fast. Thanks for the great service. The shorts are awesome too!
Polite and nice, but tried to say it was going to cost me $250.00 + to get my bike fixed. Took it to a place in Ramsey. Bike is fixed for $26.77
Great service - high level of expertise, friendly, enthusiastic. We also enjoyed the family atmosphere and business model. Well be regulars for sure.
Always friendly staff willing to take care of my biking needs. In addition to fast service, there are many options from which to choose. They are my go to bike service place!
Brought a bike in for service and tech quickly diagnosed issue as well as another item that needed correction. Work was performed and bike was ready much sooner than had been promised!! Love this shop!!
We have six bikes all purchased through maple Grove Cycling. Absolutely love this store. Every person in the store is an enthusiast.
Clean and modern shop. Mark the head mechanic is the best! I trust MGC for all my cycling needs!
Recently moved to the area and was looking for a bike shop to take my road to for service and repairs. I’ve been in there a few times now and they always go above and beyond to take care of any problems I’m having with my bike. Would definitely recommend them to anyone on the northwest side of the Twin Cities.
I came out from California to participate in the Tuscobia Winter Ultra event. I rented a Trek Farley 5 Fat Bike to ride in the race. The bike I rented was in great condition ( almost new ! ) and performed flawlessly in the race. Renting the bike from Maple Grove Cycles was much more convenient than shipping or flying with the bike. The staff at the shop were very helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend the shop for any rider traveling to the area for a cycling event. Five Stars!
Great, knowledgeable staff and service. Received my bike back 3 days sooner than promised. This is the best my bike has performed.
Great selection and nice people!
I went to Maple Grove Cycling in June, maybe July, because I wanted an entry level and decent bike for easy single track riding. I went looking for a Marin Bolinas Ridge and was told this bike would disappoint me because its not enough bike for easy trail riding. I was upsold to the Marin Bobcat Trail 3 and reassured this bike would be great. I fit a large frame very well and can easily ride an XL, but its not as comfortable.Review update 01/2021: This was a 1-star review but I changed it to 5-stars because when the service department stepped in, the true colors of the shop were exposed. In my original transaction, I dont know if it was a sales commission thing or product knowledge, but it should have been different. I posted my original review early one morning and I received a phone call from Mark, one of the service managers, no more than an hour later. He was genuinely concerned with what I said and wanted to make it right. We talked about my sales interaction and agreed that it should have gone a different route.Mark offered to take the problematic bike back and exchange it for something equal or better. I accepted and he said to bring my bike in and they will repair it as best as they can so I could keep riding until my new bike arrived. Doug, another service manager, was keeping me in the loop with all the stuff they were doing to fix the bike and monitor the status of the new one. The bike, so far, has been unrepairable. It seems like one of those issues where the cause cant be determined. But even if it was repairable, the bike still would have been too big for me.I was visiting the MGC site inventory and saw a Marin Bobcat Trail 3, in a large, so I called the store to see if I could try that one instead of the Marlin 6 that is on order. Mark said definitely and if Im not happy with it, the Trek order will stay in place. I went to the shop and they had the bike assembled and ready for me. Doug and I were able to talk about the new bike, differences, care & maintenance and other things. He didnt seem rushed or distracted - my comfort with the bike was his priority. He spent probably a good hour showing and talking me through the Bobcat. Doug wants people who ride to love the ride and that really shows in his demeanor.Mark and Doug are the sole reasons why my attitude towards Maple Grove Cycling and Marin changed. To them, its not about making a sale, protecting the company or looking like the good guy, its about the rider loving the ride. I know they will give me honest advice and unbiased opinions. And for that, I give them a heartfelt thank you.MGC is my go to bike shop and the one I will recommend.
They were incredible and very nice. Thank you so much!
