I thought I was good when I got a pair of Red Wing Blacksmiths back with Dr. Sole outsoles. I sent off a pair of Alden Indys for a full refurbish. That was December 2020. It is now almost July 2021 and I have been completely ghosted. I am slowly coming to terms with the fact that I will never see you my beloved Indys again. Dont ever try these guys. Even if or when they come back online. This review is an entirely accurate. I cant give zero stars.

Cant seem to get in contact, cant find an email nor phone number thats working. Website is down. Ordered Nicks americana back in late September through NR. Zero updates and as of late, zero communication. Its been 7months. Leaving a bad trail on their reputation on reddit forums and reviews. Stay away from these crooks. They even changed their store name. $470 stolen

I was very happy about their service and the item customized was exceptional excellent well done. Sent another pair of boots and received good service. Sent another pair and I dont know what happened as of March 4, 2021. Sent my boots in and no updates and phone disconnected.Received boots a couple days ago, but no service done to them and definitely no refund at all. SMH. Thanks??? I guess because no service was done to my boots and didn’t receive a refund. I am no longer your customer. Scammed too many people. Found out they changed their name. Still not doing business with them anymore. Even Carl Murawski knows about the scam.

Was pleased to discover what appeared to be a new boot and shoe repair business in the neighborhood! Yay! Way closer than Angels or Harolds! Called on the phone and got no response.Noted they were open and drove over. The neon sign said Open but the door was locked and a guy was inside the store 3 feet away chattin on the phone. The sign on the door said knock. So I did. He acknowledged my presence but kept chattin on the phone, didnt open the door, then turned and walked away. I left after a few minutes.Apparently I misunderstood the nature of this business. Are walk-in customers not welcome? Do I need an appointment for my boots to be seen? Do I need to schedule a pre-visit Zoom meeting?

Northern Republic stands strong to their name! I have always had a positive experience when purchasing from Northern Republic shoe repair and Leatherwork. My husband takes a great amount of pride in his boot care and we’ve always been taken care of when we come to them. They are awesome at getting back to you about your repairs or orders! This is one of the best local stores hands down! I will always do business here!

I wouldn’t take my boots to anyone else. Greg is definitely a master craftsman and is extremely talented. Greg has given new life to my boots and was extremely helpful and a pleasure to work with. He answered all of my questions and added some great touches that I think standard cobblers would have ignored. Do yourself a favor and only take your boots to Northern Republic Shoe Repair and Leather Works.

Husband left a pair of Red Wing boots to be re-soled, job was NEVER completed, he never got his boots back, $200 stolen. Don’t give this guy any more business.

They stole my boots and won’t respond with any meaningful information. DO NOT do business with them and DO NOT send them anything you probably will never see it again.

These guys saved my boots, after sending them over to another local shop that destroyed my boots! 10 out of 5 stars! these guys are awesome
