I cannot say enough great things about Flying Tiger! Shop openers were so kind and informative! Owners swiftly ordered a few things for me that are not normally kept on the shelves, AND they arrived in two days! 20/10! Bonus points for having two of the sweetest and well behaved dogs I’ve ever met in the store.

Eric and everyone at Flying Tiger are the best. Theyre honest, friendly, and provide quality service as promptly as possible. You can trust that theyll do fine work for a fair price. They always have time for your questions. Visiting with their very friendly dogs, Steve and Bird, is a delight as well. All the work theyve done on my XR650L has been great.

When I originally contacted Flying Tiger Motorcycles, I was able to set up an appointment really easily online. When I showed up in store they were very welcoming and friendly. I originally came in to have an oil change and a general check up on my bike. The mechanic was very knowledgeable and informative about how to keep my bike in the best condition. He also told me about his personal recommendations on how to move forwards after discovering many metal shavings in my oil filter. Being a native of St. Louis yet living across the country; I must say that I am very impressed with this company and that their rates are very reasonable for the services performed. Personally I think it’s rare to find an honest mechanic shop that doesn’t gouge on prices or oversell you on services and parts that you don’t need. This shop does neither of the two. They have made a lifelong customer from me, should I return back to the Saint Louis area in the future. 10/10!

Flying Tiger sold two of my bikes on consignment for me. Selling a motorcycle is typically a PITA if you try and do it yourself. I got a good price for my bikes and they received more exposure than if I would have advertised online. Not having to show the bike and still being in on the negotiation process was worth it. Great shop.

I let our Yamaha C3 Scooter sit in the garage for almost a year. When I went to start it, it sounded awful. I assumed it needed an oil change, new battery, flush the fuel, and replace the spark plug.So I brought it in to service all of the above.Flying Tiger diagnosed that all it needed was a new battery and oil change. They could have easily ran up the bill and done all the extra work that I requested. This is an honest shop and great to work with!and the scooter is now running better than new!!

These folks know bikes. They got mine running better than brand new in my opinion. Are they the cheapest, no, but they are fair and reasonable, and do you want the cheapest shop working on your bike? Hells NO! Great selection of classic/cafe racer style bikes. Amazing service. Went in to see if I could get my chain length adjuster looked at and replaced, and at no charge, they just fixed the small part for me. Was recommended to the shop by friends at local high end dealership where I have most work done on my larger displacement German bikes. Ordered tires for my project build - an 80’s era Yamaha SR250 and paid in full upfront. Six weeks later, no tires, no emails, calls, smoke signals or other attempts to get in touch with me. They were stumped by the tire sizes. They were pleasant and promptly refunded my purchase after I stopped by. I found the tires I needed after quick search on BikeBandit - and will have my friends install. Should have done that in first place but thought I’d take chance with a local and nearby shop. They do have a nice variety of steampunk Nick-Nacks and leather scented candles if you are in the market for such things.

Well, lets see to begin with they WILL work on a 1979 Honda CX500! Unlike a few other repair shops in St. Louis, I am beginning to understand what they were talking about with no attitude!! When I spoke to one of their staff members on the phone, they were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. In fact I was on the phone for what I thought would be a minute or so, but instead, about twenty five minutes discussing different need to know info about the bike that I just purchased. My first impression: WOW!!, I am going to be going to them exclusively for service, or any other needs that I have. Plus, they made me feel warm and toasty about owning an older bike!!!! They are worth bringing back to life and enjoying!!!!Cheers, Flying Tigers!!!

I think I was a loyal customers for years, never missed a check up date, but I constantly had engine issue with my scooter, I spent well over $2G in maintenance over the past 2-3year( maintenance obviously should be factored in, but my amount for a scooter seems a bit overly high) I started having problems around 5,000miles and now at 11,xxx it barely runs and it sounds terrible... Last summer I had a performance kit upgrade which I used for about 3months and stopped using during the fall/winter.. I was planning to ride this spring/summer and it would not start the shop replace the top-end with no charge which was nice, but the ride home it started acting up again and it sounds bad!I’m very disappointed how things were handled experience, going to sell the scooter and say goodbye FTM.. what a bummer..

UPDATE: They still havent fixed any of the problems they caused and harrassed me over the phone for this review. After accepting a tow of my bike Eric called and said it was on the street with the keys in it because of this review. Now you know there are consequences -Eric. I sorely wish there was another Genuine dealer I could go to.Didnt exactly inspire confidence. They charged me almost 50% more for the service than they said they would. The next time I came in it was because a luggage rack that they had charged to install had come loose and damaged the paint. They agreed to fix it, took my name and number and never called. AFAIK their plan was to forget about it.More recently I had a minor impact with a deer and smashed the fairings around the turn signal. Fortunately the damage was cosmetic. I called and was, in the same conversation, told it would take two weeks but also it could get fixed right away if someone found time. When I called back I talked to a different person who made NO MENTION of any kind of 2 week wait or backlog. You might be noticing a theme of mixed-messages and poor communication.I was told it was just a matter of waiting for the insurance company to accept the claim and send the check and then Genuine would send the parts next day.If youre like me and your bike is your only mode of transportation you might be a little anxious to have it back or at least know when it will be finished. This is not the shop for you. Other than the initial vague mention of two weeks (which was immediately reversed when she implied that maybe it would get done right away) I have not been able to wring even the hint of a time estimate out of them. First they blamed the insurance company and assured me parts would ship quickly. Then they blamed Genuine for not sending the parts. After telling me several times that they would ship next day they dont even seem to know where the parts are or if they have been ordered. At this point Im sick of getting no answers. Im especially sick of the snippy attitude I get when I call to find out the status of things. (Believe it or not Im polite on the phone and generally dont call more than once every couple of days) Of course I wouldnt have to keep calling if I could get a straight answer about when it will be finished, as it is I have to keep finding rides for work without any kind of solid estimate about when my bike will be done.Today Id had enough and asked if the bike was rideable, if I have to wait another week for parts to come in I might as well ride the bike until then. I didnt get a straight answer at first so I asked a couple more times. yes its safe are you going to pay for repairs?I say no, Im not going to pay for work that hasnt even been started. Eric gets on the line and tells me that he cant let the bike go unless I pay for it. That would be reasonable if the following werent true:1: The bike has had NO WORK DONE. They dont even have the parts and cant give me an answer about where they are, when they will arrive or if they have even been ordered.2: The insurance company has already approved their estimate and mailed them a check A WEEK AGO. I only have $100 deductible so it cant be that either.3: Ive been told that I cant access my own property because of work that has ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR BUT NOT STARTED.I really dont think its unreasonable to expect some kind of solid estimate for when work will be completed. Every time I call the gal who works in the office talks to me like she just had to put down a wrench to answer the phone. No really, she implied that it was going to take longer because I called once a day or so..I get told that shipping for the parts will be very quick and then repairs will happen the same day and then I get crabbed at because a different person told me a different answer and I didnt correctly guess which one to believe.

Picked up a new (to me) bike on Friday and rode all weekend. By Monday, I was pretty sure the bike had a clogged jet. Found this shop (which Ive passed dozens of times and never noticed) while out on a ride today and stopped in - no appointment, no notice. Theresia told me they could do a once over on the bike and give me an opinion. I didnt expect much more than a listen and walk around outside. However, Tim moved several bikes just to get mine in the shop and on the lift, then spent about 20 minutes going over the bike and checking it out! Tim confirmed my suspicions about the carb jets AND was able to tell me that it was an idler jet (not the main) AND that it was the front carb not the rear. Moreover, Tim was able to explain exactly how he knew this and what needed to be done. Also suggested one-step larger idler jets for improved flow and cooler running. Tim then aired up my tires, checked the brakes and sent me on my way. Great shop, great people, great business. I usually do my own work b/c I enjoy it and like to save money, but Im planning to leave the bike with Flying Tiger next week for a carb clean and jet replacement. Cant say enough good things. -William

Had seen the vintage bikes listed on craigslist and was curious what type of dealer and where it was located. Rode up on lunch break, looked over the bikes, and talked to Eric, the owner. Was so friendly, that the next time I had a question, went on lunch break for advice with a dirty set of carbs. Walked up to Eric and asked some questions, and he started to tell me how to take apart carbs. Told him I had them with me, and Eric proceded to disassemble the carbs, and show me how to properly clean them. Eric is a true enthusiast, and always willing to take the time to tell you the proper way something should be done. Looking for a small bike for my nephew, and this is the first dealer I will contact. Some nice smaller vintage bikes there now.
