Don’t let the “discount” fool you, quality gear in here. Is sounded like the original building was destroyed during a hurricane and the temporary space is a trailer. This trailer is packed to the gills with quality brands like Shimano, Hogy, Savage Gear, Yeti, etc. The older gentleman was friendly and helpful, providing some local knowledge for my tarpon fishing exploits. For all the tackle shops in the Keys, it’s kinda tough to find one with quality gear, and if that is what you are looking for (and fresh/live bait), check them out.

Dont really know why all the negative reviews, perhaps things have changed. Plenty of reef and light tackle fishing gear. Got a case of tournament chum for $36 which is not bad (usually $39+). Have a wide selection of Costa Del Mar glasses and apparel. The guy behind the counter George, was friendly and helpful.

I was greeted by this chick. Who instructed me on were to and were not to park. She then pointed me to inside the trailer. I asked her about tarpon fishing and did she jave any surface lures? She didnt know what that was. She said we fish tarpon by sneaking up on them and then line strip. I explained to her i am on a bay and they were everywhere. She repeated how THEY fish them. Also her phone was more important then the customer. Get rid of this person, i wouldnt have her greet people at the gate of a junk yard.

John was helpful, friendly and rigged my new pole quickly. The shrimp, bait was alive, 60 seconds or less fish on off local dock down the street. The new shop is going to be FISH amazing!

Was sad to learn how hard they got hit by the hurricane.. The woman was very sweet and helpful.

Its a cool place to come and buy bait at. We got to pick out our own shrimp! Which is awesome because the kiddos loved it. Also have a great selection of Costa gear.

Bought live shrimp and put them in my bubble bucket. Battery was running all good. Got on my boat and all the shrimp were dead. Went back and ask for a refund or at least some sort of compensation and the guy said yeah the shrimp have been kind of dead lately. So hes knowingly selling dead shrimp. I will not go back here and I dont think you should go here either

Dont park in neighboring bank lot or driveways. Bank manager gets very 😠

Helpfull and usallhave what I need

At first we thought this place was closed because we didnt see anyone, but the gentleman was in the back grabbing bait. All we needed was a ruler or chart to measure fish but wound up getting more. He was very courteous and helpful, unlike the rude guy next door at Surfside Bait, which is why we will go back here for our future bait and tackle needs.Prices are comparable to some of what I saw in the area. They have big Sabikis which are loads of fun, and would recommend getting if youre taking kids fishing. Bites on bites on bites!

We chartered a fishing trip for our triplet, 8yr old boys and had a wonderful time! Our fishing guide, Michael, was very professional and had patience with the boys. He made this both a fun and educational experience. Thank you so much for an experience our boys will never forget.

Went here to get bait and rent fishing gear. Owner said he doesnt rent fishing poles. I guess he should take the rental sign off the front door.Fine, I spent my money somewhere else.

Showed-up, Jack wasnt ready to go; rods werent on the boat, etc... I went to check out the bait with the extra time I had and this shops tanks were empty and hardly had any good shrimp at all. And another thing- also suspect his prices reflected the cost of marine-fuel, but then I saw them putting regular gas in their tank...cheapskate move. We caught a couple fish that day, but based on everything I saw and the quality/quantity of bait, Id keep moving down the highway. The kid behind the counter was also quite rude.

Great bait and very nice

Scheduled an evening trip with Jack Carlson with the hopes of ending a great Keys trip with some good fishing. Showed up ready to fish and Jack was a no show. He set up a replacement captain but made no effort to inform of us of this decision. Boat troubles put us on a loaner boat with busted electronics. Fishing was slow (hardly the guides fault) but left feeling short changed given all of the unannounced changes to our trip. Followed up after the trip with a phone conversation to the original guide and no effort was made to rectify the situation (we paid good money after all). Would not recommend their services.

Very disappointed in this and every other tackle shop in the keys. No one carries big fish gear. Would be a great place to open a tackle store to cater to big game fisherman.

Always very helpful with where to go to fish and what to use for what you are trying to catch.

Rude. No help at all even though their sign states free advice. Guess you really do get what you pay for. Should have gone elsewhere to buy our bait today (they didnt have anything live either), lesson learned.

Went here for bait was give pinfish that was dead almost blown out eyes an was belly up when we asked him about why he gave us bad bait he said its not bad thats what pinfish do to each other an wouldnt refund for the bait told us we can use them dead terrible service would not be going back to this place

Friendly and helpful staff.

Guy working the store wasnt very nice, nor was he helpful as he talked to us from outside the store as he smoked a cigarette. Drove 50 ft to Captain Hooks and got all the answers (and the bait) that I needed.
