Havent been to a Kmart in 20 years. Actually assumed all Kmarts were closed. Hubby and I decided to go inside to see what Kmart had to offer. Only 1 other vehicle in the parking lot. Store was clean. We actually found some lounge pants for the both of us ranging from $7-$9 each. Gave a 5 star because we had no expectations but found a very good deal on something we have been looking to purchase at other stores.
Interesting Kmart in the keys. Very well stocked and manned fishing section as opposed to the Key West one. Guess that is due to the area being a fishing area vs a tourist area. The store was well stocked and checkout was easy. No problems with being understood as others have experienced. Overall a positive Kmart experience. Pictures posted for those that like large murals.
Marathon location is going out of business... and it looks like it. I went in for water and found it in the back corner of the hardware section, still on the pallet. Great sales though if youre interested.
Much better stocked than when I was there in 2020. Of course, its pretty much irrelevant since the store is closing in a few weeks.
Wow! What a real blast from the past!!!Sorry to see them go but honestly, theyve been running this store into the ground for years which I suppose is good business when you think about it. Kmarts been pretty smart over the years and without judicious prudent management and good money moves they wouldnt have come so far so long. Would have been interesting to see them give Walmart a competitive run for their money back in the 80s or moving Sears very successful catalog business online before Amazon when they had the chance rather than playing it safe for its pensioners prioritizing stability and high dividend returns. Such is life, even businesses have beginnings and endings, I guess.I can still smell the popcorn tho. Shop smart, shop Kmart. lol
This store appears to be on the verge of closure. Inventory is weak and the customer service isnt much better. They used to have a decent fishing section, which is now on its last leg. Clearly the tourist grabbing paper towels, trash bags and t-shirts are keeping them going. The store overall all is just in rough shape, but if you need a quick grab for your rental property, they have the basics.
Going out of business so store is in disarray. Still some good deals to be had. But expect to hunt.
While in the Keys, we stopped in the Kmart in Marathon and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the ştore was heavily merchandised with everything the average tourist would want. The lighting was a little brighter than the last one I had been in and the store was clean. When we got to the checkout with our beach umbrella, we found one register open and the line was long. Within just a few minutes two more registers were opened and the cashiers got everyone through quickly.
It was great to get to go to a K-Mart (all the ones near us have closed), but took us a few days into our vacation to make it in as they close so early. Got some nice very reasonably priced t-shirts for my kiddo.
Theres a reason Kmarts went out of business...if you visit this one, youll see why. If I made it 5 mins in this store Id be surprised. Limited merchandise and staff are bad combinations for success.
Love this place soo sad there closing
LUCKY TO FIND JUST WHAT I NEEDED.
So awesome to find a K-Mart. We havent had one at home in years. Pet food, toilet paper and laundry detergent is a lot more than some other stores.
I found the store very clean A easy shop. The associates were friendly. Along with the manager who helped me find a few aitems. Just a tourist. But what a nice experience
Needs more of a selection. Best place to shop on the island but not well stocked
This store looks like it is closing, but it keeps getting different stock to display. Some have said that it gets the overstock and items from closing stores, I dont know. good prices and selection on cargo shorts last time I was there.
I love this place. Its not as full of interesting stuff as is has been in the past, vir the parent company is having troubles. You used to be able to buy anything from fishing tackle to lingerie here, since it was the only variety store in 30 to 40 miles. Its eclectic and cool and I hope it never closes
Store closing soon, unfortunately. 70% off most items, get them before they are gone!
Went to find a fishing rod and reel. Dismal selection of 1 style rod, not a reel to be found and no bait. No customers, most if store empty of merchandise, maybe they are closing.
Poor Kmart isnt what it once was. Its not the stores fault. They keep it clean and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their products or lack thereof
They had exactly what I needed. Convenient location.
Surprised it still existed. Dirty and rundown, but cashier was pleasant. Clearly not going to last much longer.
Expensive and doesnt have a lot of merchandise. But if your desperate you might could find what you need.
One of the few still open. Didnt find anything for us this trip.
Management is very willing to improve the shop. I shopped at Kmart in Marathon, Fla. on January 26, 2020, noticed an issue and sent feedback to the Kmart online site. In the next morning, its manager called me, apologized and said he and other employees had addressed the issue. He also appreciated the feedback I made. He was very pleasant, sincere and valued customers like me. I believe his words about they will improve the shop. I will shop again at Kmart nationwide including this branch in Marathon.
The store is half empty of merchandise and staff. It is not well organized and even basic things are hard to find. Two stars because it is the only store of its kind between Key Largo and Key West.
Fabulous had everything we needed!
I was not informed as to what I was doing with my Sears points while trying to redeem them at the store. I ended up donating $80 or more to Salvation Army causes. This made my purchasing power pretty weak after depleting L any of my buying power at Sears/Kmart. I wish I could’ve went better
Couldnt believe there is one these stores around. Set up just like I remember when I was a kid. I enjoyed shopping there.
Its sad to see the store with a very small inventory when it was great.
Walgreens selection is better, prices are equivalent. Only seems to have more clothes.
Always brings me back home walking into there. Its been 43 years since I first stepped into here, just a great place
I so want to give it star, but can not do to very limited product usually not what I need. It has cleaned up a bit. Prices need to be placed with correct product. Dont buy bedding there you will go for your lungs. Kid you not. Most employees are very helpful. Manager has been very good to me. Hiss hands are tied by corporate so he can not gAve fully socked shelves and has lots of empty space for product.
This location is selling everything and closing the store.
It looks like they are going out of business. Most of the shelves are empty and large portions of the store are blocked off
Pretty sure its closing down. Didnt find much here
OMG DONT BOTHER! UNLESS YOU NEED A PAIR OF SOCKS 😠
Just your average kmart.
Shelves were half loaded. Heard there is only 3 left on Florida, so apparently hard to stock shelves. Fishing section is really lacking, no one to help either.
Dont like it has almost nothing I want. electronic section not really there and what I need most is cargo pants 34 there was none I probably bought all. Cant get a simple bed cover for a queen bed dont like those thick covers its hot down here. At least they got socks and underwear so 2 star.
Not much selection. This was a great store but not any longer.
Well, its been a while for me since I needed anything in a hurry and a Kmart end up being my end pick, particularly since theyve exited my area over time starting about 15 years ago to now, but, I mean at least this store was identifiably open, versus some I have been in which I thought had already been closed for good, so thats a plus.
Okay? Its all weve got. Bare shelves, poor selection ... one step above the dollar store.
I get Irma happened a few years back but there is almost ZERO fishing/diving department anymore. That was a highlight of that location.
When it has what we need its a lifesaver, but sometimes so much is empty its confusing if its staying open or not.
Very disappointed. Very limited on inventory.
Its good enough for where is at
Had everything we needed while on vacation. Nice to see a K Mart still around.
Love the place i go to for shoping..
Limited offerings but hospitable staff with ready smiles
Closing down but great price
We just moved to the keys and were shopping for clothes, houseware or anything honestly and all we found were overpriced random things that serve no good purpose and the few consumable things they did have were outrageously over priced. If you stayed open during the crisis just to price gouge people congrats you got five stars for that lol. Will never shop here again, sorry :/
A 21/22 Review!. No Customer Service. Survives by being the only game in town. Some just kid over 21 refused to sell me just under 21 at the time .22 rifle ammo here because it also fits handguns.
This location left a lot to be desired. They had tons of empty displays and the store was pretty unkempt. We also visited the electronics departm.... Shelf I guess. They didnt have much to make it worth it at all. They definitely didnt have what we were looking for, but it seems like that may be common theme in the keys.
Never have the items I was looking for.
Stuff was everywhere. The fishing department had no bait at all
Time to finish closing this joint down. Very sad.
Ok lots of holes in ceiling and not the best selection
A go to stop when we are in the keys they have everything I need to make our trip pleasurable.
For going out of business they havent come down on prices
Looks more like a discount store. Lol
Kinda messy. Were shopping for fishing stuff & half of it wasnt stocked. Couldnt find what we needed.
Amazing people very friendly loved the pool and the beach
Dont bother shopping for clothing unless you want to step back to the 80s or 90s. There is literally no one ever working in the sporting goods section, which is actually pretty good. Fair price on life jackets but dont buy water or Gatorade here, Public and Winn-Dixie just next door have better prices.
Best place for everything in Marathon.
Plenty of bargins but couldnt find what we needed.
Meh. Very disappointed. Good if youre looking for fishing gear. Not so good if youre looking for anything else. Merch selection is worse than 2019.
This Kmart has a fantastic selection of clothing for men, women, teens, kids, babies...The further back into the store you go, the better buys you will find. This may be because Sears is now partnered up with Kmart. Most of the departments are filled with products to sell from bedding to snorkeling, plenty of whites and varieties of flippers are to be found in here. Prices thruout are fair. If this was helpful, please like Thanks! 🌴
Today I went for a Return and poor Spanish speaking Thelma had no idea what she was doing. She was the only one on the floor with a long line and she wasnt helping herself with her nasty attitude. After denying my service I urged the need to speak to Jefe aka the manager. The worst customer service. Poorly trained. Also only the kids that work there speak English.. Not very happy at that. It took 20 minutes for her to ring up only two people that she chose to help over me. After I realized it was useless seeing a manger that same day my patient ran thin and annoyance rises high I left. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. THE WORST IVE EXPERIENCED! DO SHOP HERE IF YOU WANT LUDICROUS PRICED GOODS & LACK OF OWNERSHIP
Friendly staff and fully stocked.
No specific areas for different items. Not adequate staff
Came here hoping to find some cheap sandals and there was a very small selection and they were expensive for what they were. The cashier didnt seem to speak much English
Not bad everything was in it’s place also ...Customer service was good got in and out !
Grim. There were three other shoppers there and the only worker I saw besides the cashier did not speak English. Surprisingly well stocked but over all pretty dismal and dirty.
This site is closing.
I love kmart
Clean and organized with large selection, including fishing equipment..;)
Great place to cover all your needs. Theyve got a pretty decent selection of clothes, groceries, beach gear, fishing gear and supplies, toys, electronics, and liquor store. Prices are also very fair, although they dont sell the highest quality merchandise.
I so miss KMart. Was excited when I saw one in the keys
Im not sure its racism, or just people who clearly dont want to be working or interacting with customers. Workers will argue, quickly get frustrated, and will walk the other way when they see you. Shelves are poorly stocked, usuallydont have what youre looking for. Order online and pick up in the store.
I always love to come to this Kmart they have very nice things. Unfortunately I just came back and the cashier told me that I could not use my points because I did not know my pin. I told her that in the past and as of 4 days ago the cashier always puts a PIN number or over rises it and am able to get my points. She would not do it. She said the system had changed as of yesterday, some how I don’t believe that. Also I see a total different staff working there. Maybe that has something to do with it.
For Christmas i was buying my mom a watch and the lady at the cash register asked me if i was going to donate some money to the children, i couldnt because i didnt have any money left so i kindly said no thank you, then she gave me a look that wasnt very nice. Other then that its great 👍
Massive sale throughout the store, lots of dated items, always very empty which helps with social distancing...
Just close already if youre not going to stock anything.
This Kmart has a really good fishing section and a lot of the other things that travelers and visitors to the area might need. The selection isnt huge but there are some fun things here to get and it gives you a break to get off some of the lower Islands. Just a good Kmart.
Just like all over marathon, a bunch of racist Cubans working there. The specific one I had to deal with today was korina with a K but dont worry corporate will be notified but K mart is in the tank anyway and this is a fine example of why.
Lots of Marathon Keys souvenirs, but still had everything you go to Kmart for and more! I wish we still had Kmarts in Ocala Florida
Way too empty of merchandise, service was slow .
Store is being remodeled. Looks nice a lot more organized and more merchandise but I couldnt find anything. Also, some items I have bought for years are no longer carried.
Love the fishing department here. We stopped several times for bait and supplies while staying in the Keys. The people who work there were very friendly and helpful with fishing advice. We were very thankful for this store.
So sad to see it so sparse. We miss the kmart we had in NH😢
We didnt know Kmart was still in business, so this was a surprise to us at first. This is a very nice store to stop off in the Keys to fill up on supplies. Avoid the gift shops, this Kmart has an entire section with Keys shirts and hats at a decent price.
This place generally sucks overall. Publix beats prices on any sunscreen/aloe product. Lip balm selection is non existent. Clothing selection blows. Then there is the daily bum and vagabond convention that meets daily in the parking lot. Watch your wallets, move fast and dont take any guff.
Good store. Like a blast from the past
Snacks are overpriced. They have good deals on clothes but not much selection of mens sandals. The fishing center is great. You can get fishing licenses there.
This is a great kmart. Everything you need is here. Good customrt service unlike walmart. Nice simple store not the huge superstores that you feel like you need a gps to get out. Please keep this location open. I love it
