Placed online order, but was running late and wouldnt make it before they closed. Called ahead and they offered to place the chocolate outside when I arrived even though they would already be closed. Thank you for the great customer service!

I called and ordered a box of dark chocolate and was told it would be ready in 10mins and they would call me. I went to do another errand and did not receive a call. I returned back (approx 12 mins later) and found the shop closed. This was Friday, July 3rd. The shop was closed over the weekend; my cc was charged on Friday for the chocolates. I thought the shop was closed on Monday so I did not call. I called Tuesday morning but no answer however I received a call Tuesday around 11:30am asking me if I still wanted my chocolates. I explained that I never received a call on Friday to pick them up. I would not have ordered if the shop was due to close shortly. I would have just gone next week. I am aggravated because there was no warning the shop was closing when I placed my order on Friday, no phone call saying the order was ready and when I explained the issue to the representative who called me on Tuesday, no apology or even an explanation of the miscommunication. While I like the chocolates, the customer service could be improved and I am left with a not so sweet taste.

Oh my goodness, if you love hand-crafted chocolate, or just love chocolate in general, this is the place for you. Housed in a cottage on Atlantic Ave, there is a sweet to tempt everyone. Fabulous for gifting, or just indulging yourself on a rainy day. Yum Yum

The entire experience was exceptional. Beginning with the high hedges, aged gate with only a bit of this sweet candy house tucked away. The chocolate delights are front and center neatly displayed in immaculate cases. Instead of sampling one of EVERYTHING i had the associate make the selections. The proprietors aunt from Berkeley chatted me up Big Golden State Warriors fan. Go Dubs!

Been going to Stowaway since I was a little girl. There is no finer chocolate shop anywhere. I love this time of the year because I can have them shipped here to Florida. Its way too hot in the summer!

I just finished sending 12 pound-boxes to my most important clients, earning rave reviews. Most typical: We want to be on the box-a-month program! Variety and high quality for all tastes.

Stopped off to try the chocolate here, it was good, but Russos is just as good, if not better. 25 for a half pound is way to high, I get a pound at Russos for 22.

Chocolate was delicious. 25 dollars for a 1/2 pound is too expensive.

In my book, chocolate is chocolate but in our era of mega store, anesthetized shopping this cozy nook with its creeky floors and terrible lighting is beautiful. So many NE port town have shops like this, Marblehead is lucky to be included.

We went here on our honeymoon a few years ago. It was the best chocolate I have ever had and the staff was so friendly. My husband and I are discussing ordering some for out anniversary.

Ok - so it was a valentine Gift wrapped in Red Foil. Yes I assumed it was a box of chocolates, but I also assumed it was a box of Store Chocolates you could buy at the local Cvs.Wow was I wrong. Under the wrap it said Stowaway Sweets and I was both surprised and excited. I opened the top and was Impressed how many different sweets they packed in one box. I tasted one, then 2 more, and could not stop until somewhere around 10. Incredible taste and Display. I cannot remember ever having better. Serious.I wont mention other brands, but I seriously think Guys should not give a box of chocolates for Valentines day. Seriously underwhelming. Until now. Stowaway sweets just may be my Ace card for next year... Thank you.

Have been getting these delicious candy for about 20 years on my birthday and Valentines Day. They are the most delicious chocolates that I have ever tasted.. Looking forward to my next box.

Just to darn costly. There are other places with better selections that are less expensive in this area. You decide.

We come from Topsfield here because the chocolates are to die for! Meltaways are a must have!! The sea salt caramels are also truly amazing. Im excited to try these chocolate caramel potato chips as well...

Tucked away in the Goldthwait neighborhood, right off Atlantic is a little ole chocolate shop with a lot of history, a lot of heart, and some amazing chocolate. This is the go to chocolatier for holiday gift boxes and the place to pop into when you want a little something sweet. They almost always give samples, are super great with kids and have a huge selection of treats to pick from. If you visit Marblehead and miss Stowaway, youve really missed something special.
