Ray and his dad are pretty cool guys. We are not gun people and went in for help with a bunch of guns and ammo that we inherited. He new exactly what to do and how to help. He was super kind and fair and made things quick and easy. Great experience!

Ray is an outstanding gunsmith. From minor repairs to full custom builds, he can do it all. His custom work on pistols extraordinary.Just remember that he runs a busy shop so you just have to get in line and wait your turn. All your work is done by Ray so it can take time.

Ray machined the barrel of my rifle and installed a muzzle brake on it. The price was reasonable, the work was done well, it was delivered at the promised time and it works very well, exactly as expected from our discussion about the desired work. The shop is family run. Mary and Joe will treat you well and are extremely knowledgeable. Mary will make sure your paperwork is compliant and you walk away a happy customer.

I was very happy with the service from Joe and Ray at del Valle. Ray is the best gunsmith in the bay area by far. He has worked on several pistols and rifles of mine. Always does quality work and his knowledge of the weapons, their history and quality is extensive. Check out his web site for his custom work. Rays father (a retired LEO) works with Ray and brings an unmatched level of practical knowledge to the shop as well. They have a wide variety of pistols and rifles in the shop and can get access to anything they dont carry in stock - assuming it is available in CA. Del Valle is the go to gun shop.

I think this is the best store in the area if youre into more than your uncle bobs hunting rifles. They have plenty of modern stuff ranging from AR15s to more quirky curio and relics as well as antiques. Ive bought two guns from these people and I have to say that Joe is a pretty cool guy. Ray the Smith is very professional and his younger staff, very respectful. Theyll continue getting my business.

Great service. But it took almost 2 months to get my Springfield. Dont recommend buying any new guns here, unless you want to wait months to get it. Go to Markleys or elsewhere where they already have them in stock.

Ray and his dad, Joe, have years of experience between them and can help you with most if not all of your needs. If they do not have it, they will get it for you.Ray does the gunsmithing, Joe works the counter and they are currently in the process of expanding into the building adjacent to theirs.And if you are a Cowboy or black powder shooter, Joe knows his Cowboy Guns better than anyone I know.Give them a try!!

I strive to support local businesses, and remain courteous in my interactions.I was told the simple coating work proposed would take two weeks. After two months, my item was not touched. Two wasted trips and several phone calls.Excuses were far ranging, including high humidity, being told how busy they are over and over, as well as being shown all the many repair and work tickets backed up. The high humidity excuse was particularly irking, given the weather and weeks of high pressure with no rain. I dont like being BSed.They get two stars for at least being an open gun shop in Northern California.

Ray has always done exceptional work on any of my guns and does great on Cerakoting no matter how crazy you want to go, he did a Glock 19 in arctic white so now I have the Storm trooper Glock. Broke the ejector in my Springfield 1911, had it fixed/swapped in less than 10 minutes.In terms of sale service they have mostly consignment guns and some new, Joe is always helpful and very easy to talk too and has a lot of experience with firearms, also both Ray and Joe have advised me against a few purchases for not being quality product. So they arent looking just to sell you anything, they want you to get something youll be happy with.Anyhow, 5 stars easily.
