Wonderful people. I am truly lost for words. I don’t even live in Marion but it will probably be worth the 30 minute drive to come back here in the future.I had a surprise trip to Chicago come up, I called and asked if I could my brakes and rotors changed the same day before getting on the highway. I was welcomed with open arms, I was told they’ll get several people working on it to get it done ASAP. The gentlemen took the car, saw I had a piece of plastic rubbing against the wheel, and my brake pads had about 25% left on them. They just took off the plastic that was making the noise, told me I could wait a little on the brakes and that was all…I wasn’t even charged a penny. I am very grateful for everyone at Blairs Ferry Automotive

They are nice. The gals in the office do their best to give accurate quotes and time frames, and the technicians in the shop have always done good work. They are even willing to special-order parts if you dont want the OEM they have on site. Also, they are within walking distance of a strip mall, so you dont have to sit around their office for something that takes an hour. Overall, I am happy with the service I received there.

Best mechanic experience Ive had in Cedar Rapids in a long time! As a single woman who knows nothing about cars I’m always being taken advantage by mechanics in town, but at Blair’s Ferry Automotive they were welcoming, friendly, fast, and extremely well priced! I would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

Ive done almost all of my auto repairs and maintenance personally for the past 20 years, because of poor experiences with other shops. Since I was not in a position to repair my truck personally while moving; I tried blairs ferry automotive. I could not be happier about that choice. They are the most honest, trustworthy, competent, and fairly priced mechanics Ive ever dealt with. Marty does an incredible job identifying specific vehicle issues, providing a detailed analysis without embellishments, explaining what he observed and why he suggests doing specific work, and performing the work. I will still do my own work when it makes sense to, but this will be the only shop I bring my vehicles to from now on.

When I got my first car, my father told me “if it’s anything more than an oil change, take it to Blair’s Ferry” and because of that, worrying about my car while it’s in the shop is a stress I’ve been able to avoid. Honest about what’s gonna need what done and when it’s gonna need it. I’ve brought in some real head scratchers and they always got it right in just a day or so. Dustin/Marty are fantastic and I recommend Blairs Ferry Automotive to anyone with a check engine light.

I was visiting CR from South Carolina and my 2009 Honda Fit starter began acting up. It was a problem that began 6 months earlier during winter time, when the bendix would hang up and make all sorts of noise. When the weather warmed up, the problem went away except upon my mid-July visit to CR when it began acting up in 90 degree weather. I had them order a new starter for me and when I brought my car in for the repair, the old starter was acting fine (of course!) and so the mechanic called me before working on it to understand why he was replacing an expensive and functioning starter. Imagine that - an honest mechanic that could speak directly with the customer! That never happens, anymore! Even better, the management said if the new starter encounters issues in South Carolina, just call them up and theyd work something out with the shop down here (in SC) to help cover the warranty work. Two thumbs way up for Blairs Ferry Automotive!

The owner of this shop and the people who work there are open, honest, and do good quality work. I have gone in recently for a few different problems they are always quick to take care of my vehicle and talk me through what is wrong. The people I have dealt with here have gone above and beyond to help me with my car troubles. I have shopped around a bit in the CR area for a reliable auto shop and this is it. Customer for life.

My girlfriends Prius had the catalytic converter stolen about three weeks ago and we went here to get it replaced. Well today we found someone had once again tried to take it, this time failing, but managing to damage it. She took it back in here being as it was already some of the best service weve received anywhere. About thirty minutes later they sent her out the door having welded it up for free. We wont be going anywhere else from now on and I suggest everyone give them a try.

Had me fixed up before I could blink, and they were very friendly about it! When AAA left me high and dry they were able to get me back on the road and back on schedule. Very friendly staff. Price are very reasonable. Tell the correct report about your car full inspection as part of Oi change. Fix the small things with minimal charge as part of oil change service. I would definitely recommend others as well to visit them atleast once.

Changed from 4 to 5 stars (2/13/2017): Today over the phone Dustin diagnosed my car issue, told me the exact part I needed from the parts store, and coached me on the repair myself. He said, You can do this; if you cant, bring it over and Ill do it, but save the money and do it yourself. This is the second time a Blairs Ferry Auto team member has told me how to fix something on my own. They will continue to get my business on the issues beyond my skill level (which are a lot :). Thanks yall!Ive been a customer at this shop for 4 years. The mechanics are friendly, the service is timely. I have most of my work done here and the oil change price (now $25) is great for anyone. They answer questions and work with the customer. It helps to know a bit about what your card needs because its never easy to postpone certain repairs, if you dont know for sure (but theyll shoot you straighter than any dealer will if you ask questions). I also appreciate that they allow me to bring in parts to be installed. Their prices are fair.

To say these guys go above and beyond is an understatement! I have been taking my cars here for awhile. They have always been very thorough, honest and very well priced. Dustin helped me find a place when my car broke down out of town and saved me over $400. Marty went out of his way to pick me up when my car wouldnt start after a replacement part didnt work and fixed my car quickly. I recommend them to everyone and wont go anywhere else!

These guys are so kind and go above and beyond! When I needed my A.C. fixed they laid out the options and discussed what was most cost effective, did a great job fixing it, and, on top of it all, fixed a lose wire in the door that was hindering the window operation just because the guys had some extra time. When I asked if it cost extra they just smiled and said not to worry about it! Dodge was going to charge me $100 just to LOOK at it!!! Simply put, these guys are just kind, honest, good workers! Incredible service! Very nice and honest. Im new to the area and I called them somewhat frantic and unsure about what to do with my car that wouldnt start. Within 5 minutes of calling, they drove to where my car had died and jump started it for me. The extremely kind gesture saved me so much money from towing and stress in figuring it out. This place is amazing. They have a kid sized table and a bunch of toys and games. My one and two year old had a lot of fun while I was waiting for an oil change. The staff was polite and got my car right in and finished in 30 minutes. This was my most wonderful auto experience ever!

Blairs Ferry Auto were fantastic this winter when it was belowzero, cars were onlists to be towed and mine developed some weird electrical issues and wouldnt budge. They got to us that day, and worked on it and had me back on the road in no time. Several other issues popped up that were unusual and they kept at it till they found it. When there was something they werent comfortable with, no lies, no gimmicks just straight truth. I Highly recommend them!

After dealing with small town shops my whole life I thought that I would lose that moving to Cedar Rapids. This place breaks the mold. They treat you like family and they are HONEST. Went in to change the breaks, they called and said the one just needed tightened and there would be no charge. I cant imagine another place in Cedar Rapids doing that. They are also VERY affordable and they really take the time to explain whats going on, and how they plan to fix it. Best place around!

Honest, trustworthy, reasonable. IF I have to send my car somewhere else he always send me to a good place. I have a Mini Cooper, Dustin keeps HyperHeaven running in tip top shape. If you are taking your car to someone other than Blairs Ferry Automotive in Marion, then youre going to the wrong place! My car stalled out today. He put me at ease and sent me to BMW in CR where he knew they could help fix the problem. I like this mechanic and his family. They have been very good to me since moving here 7 months ago.

Scammers! All I wanted was an oil change. When it was completed they said I needed a new tire rod in the next 30 days or my wheel was in danger of falling off. I feel now that I was targeted because I am a young woman. I asked them to fix it. Had my appointment and when I got my car back he said we broke your car but dont worry we fixed it! Afterwards it started making a horrible noise while turning the wheel. I called them and they said they stand by their work and asked me to bring it back. When I did he said must have missed it the first time but your ball joint needs replaced. I asked for a price quote and left. I took it to an honorable shop and they said my lower ball joint was in fact a little loose but is not a safety concern. They also stated if the ball joint was bad they would not have been able to do an alignment in the first place. The fact alone that they laughed when saying they broke my car and that they must have missed something the first time is mind blowing. Either they are complete con artists or someone there has no idea what they are doing! I wish I could go back in time and stop myself from ever stepping foot in there again!

The guys at BFA are amazing. I have been going to them for 10+ years. Recently I have been hearing a noise and running out of time due to an upcoming trip. I scheduled an appointment to drop off and they called me with what needed to be done and gave me a quote. When the job was completed they called me to let me know. They have always came to the rescue for any of our vehicle needs. I can not thank the BFA crew enough. Thanks guys for being there.

I had some noise coming from my front struts. Wasnt sure if I could drive safely. I went to this shop to just have someone look at it. Answer I got was nope can’t look at it or help you, booked for complete week. Guy said that I was eating his time while I was talking to him about it. It’s like for real!!! I just wanted to have someone see if it’s ok to drive on but instead I’m driving farther on it to find someone to look at it.@blairsferry automobile:: Sorry, I can’t delete this review. You might be good with fixing stuff. But your shop is not the place to stop by in case of emergency. Further down, Boubin automobile mechanic came out and checked my car to make sure if it was okhey to drive. He found that my stuts were broken and it was not safe to drive. Those guys were busy too. But they did make sure to look at it. I will stand by my review.

I asked them to tell me everything thats wrong and prices of parts and labor they told me a few things but not everything and they didnt and prices on the sheet so i asked him to and what did he do is just dropped down alot of numbers for them all. I use to think this was a good place to bring my car. They have worked on my car several times over the years. Bought an interstate battery from them for a $151.00 back in December 29th 2015. When The head gasket blew for the final time and I drove my car in to their lot. They said they give me $50 for the car. I said I wanted the battery out of it because it wasnt that old. They were ok with that. Found a salvage yard that would give me more for the car. When the car was towed away. Oh they forgot about the battery. Salvage yard said the battery in the car was clean and oil free. dated June of 2015. It was not an Interstate battery but an Exide and it was only good for 20 months. When the engine blew there was oil everywhere how did it miss the battery? I wont be letting these guys change the oil in my new car, I can tell you that.

I can honestly say that BFA is one of the WORST mechanics in Cedar Rapids. Not only do they try to push unneeded services onto you, they fail to fix the problem the first time. The rates charged at BFA are ridiculous compared to other places in the area. Never again will I take my vehicle to BFA and suggest you dont either.
