I went shopping to my local Belks in Laurel Mississippi as I have many times before but this day I was returning a shirt that I had purchased along with two others. I had removed the tag but the shirt was tight and so I immediately took it off and bagged it to return. I did forget the tag in my bedroom but I have never had an issue like this before. I have always been treated respectfully at the store but the sales person suggested that I speak to a manager which was odd. I went to the manager and he took my receipt, entered something into the computer and said that the numbers didnt match and gave me a nasty look! He also made comments that seemed as if he were suggesting the items were not purchased properly and this Disturbed me! He walked over to the rack with the shirt I returned in his hand and proceeded to measure it against one of the same shirts on the rack to see if the size was different. Clearly he was implying that I had washed it! When that didnt please him, he then proceeded to stand in line with me for the third time and I was disrespected again at the register. He finally exchanged my shirt but I will never, ever enter this particular store again! I have had two granddaughters work at this store and have never been disrespected this much! I will continue to shop online and in other stores but this manager totally surprised me!
I’m so sad that the Belk’s in Auburn,AL had gone down hill so much in the last few years. I used to love shopping here but now me and many others that I know will drive to Montgomery or Birmingham to shop.I thought I would give it another try today and witnessed an employee being extremely rude to 2 customers. No registers were open and she argued with these ladies about it. I’m so disappointed and I’m done!!!
Good afternoon my name is Sharon H. MartainI visited your Columbiana Store on Saturday June 19, 2021 around 7:00 pm and I visited several different departments in the store and no one said hello or offered any assistance. On Sunday June 20, 2021, around 6:15pm I visited the Richland Fashion Mall Store looking for bedding and I encounter 2 associates, one in handbags and another in bedding. Neither employee greeted me or asked did I need any assistance. I was terribly disappointed at the lack of customer service I received at both stores. I did encounter one last employee who was in the ladies department and she did speak and was very hospitable and courteous. I ended up purchasing my bedding from her. I have been an employee with BELK in the past off and on from 1993-2013 ( Columbia Mall, Columbiana, Dutch Square) stores part time and we were trained to approach and speak to any customer that was in our assigned area. What is happening to BELK customer service? Are there no standards for your employee’s to make customers feel like they want to shop in your stores. I would like someone from corporate to email me so I can further discuss this matter.
I have never dealt with such horrible customer service. I have been trying to get a refund on an item I bought before Christmas. Because this item was jewelry and over a certain amount a customer service rep had to send it to cooperate and they were supposed to contact me within 7-14 business days. Its been almost three weeks now and I have not been contacted at all. I have a lot of money tied up and it seems as though its just not important to them. This was my very first purchase from Belk and unfortunately it will be my last. This isnt acceptable and while I understand its COVID and most places are short staff, I would appreciate some kind of communication with I have hundreds of dollars being held up.
Bought a comforter from here less than a year ago, when I washed it all the colors ran and the fluff got really hard, I was told to stick it in the dryer on fluff. When I did that it melted. When I tried to talk to someone about what happened they said they could not do anything unless it was in the 90 days.
Belks at Southpark messed up my in store order today by ordering the wrong sizes of jeans. I told the salesperson 3 times the size i needed. The store would not correct order nor cancel my order. Now I have to wait for the order to come to my house, then drive back to the store to return where I was told I will not get my full refund. Bad and poor customer service. I have been shopping at Belks my life.However this situation here makes me not to shop at Belks anymore.
I went in to see if they had a certain shoe in stock because online said it wasnt available. When i went in I found the shoe i was looking for. When i asked the cashier could he honor the online price in store because it wasnt letting me order it online he said let me check with my manager. The manager told him no. Me working as a manager in retail was shocked because our company would take care of the customer because it was an online error. So i asked to speak to the manager and she took a very long time to come up to talk to me her name was Roslyn. I asked her for the reason why and ahe said it was probably because of low inventory and i told her that northlake had only 1 size 10 anf i was able to do it there so is there a better reason than that. Then she said its certain sizes that wont take the discount which i do understand that but the size 10 1/2 wasnt even on the website to order but it was in the store. Then she says she doesnt have to tell me anything and walked away. I then left the store and called the northlake location to see what the actual policy was if something like that ever occurred and the manager there said they would take care of the customer. As a young black man i feel like this happens a lot when i go to stores like this they never take what we say seriously and ignore what we say. I have the conversation recorded and plan on taking this as far as i can until discrimination like this stops.
I went to Belk the other day for an in-store pick up. The bowls that I was getting the packing was damaged. I told one of the girls at the checkout counter to please get me another one. They told me I could go around the corner and make a return. I told them no this is why I called it in I did not want to walk all around the store I have a medical condition. The girl grabbed the bag walked away and called me the Grinch. I have called Belk customer service nobody cares and the bad thing about it is I sent the bowls to my niece in Florida and the large bowl has a crack in it. Also I ordered two snowflake pillows on November 17 today is December 8 and I still have not received the pillows. I have called customer service three times they said they are in route I will be returning them to the store as soon as I get them I am very disappointed in Belk!
Employees tend to complain most about their store scheduling and HR time off approvals. Latest intel indicates that employees often quit the company because of schedules being changed too quick or without notice, along with delayed approvals for their paid time off. Company does not rate well with employee satisfaction. Flexibility coupled with an employee balanced work life are not priorities at this company.
I am wondering why is it that Corporate and the CEO of Belk is not responding back in to resolving these complains that are listed under reviews?! Another thing the Online items are not updated. I have 5 different orders from Belk and the only reason I have so many (FYI different locations..curbside pickup) its because my orders keep canceling. I went in to the store to check if items were available and to my surprise they were. So why is it that my orders are canceling?!? First time customer and last.The only one thing that drove me into purchasing from Belk was the sales online but what is the point of having sales if this is going to be happening every time, canceling orders. Belk you are loosing customers!
I went to the Belk store at Town Center in Marietta. I have never met a more discourteous, lazy, employee. Then what I found to be i”in charge” of the Jewelry dept I guess “desperate times call for desperate measures”” How could one hire such a person.I will never go backThani youm Ryan, Pharm .D.
Ordered two pajama sets and one dress for my daughter - all in size medium. One of the 3-piece pajama sets arrived with the jacket and top in size medium, but the pants in XL. I called and was assigned a corporate case number and told the correct size pants would arrive in a week. That never happened. I called again and was told the Team would reach out in a couple of days. I received an email saying were glad to have been able to resolve your issue, which is untrue. Called again after 2 weeks and was told that apparently there are no size medium pants and thats why they arrived in size XL. My daughter washed the jacket and top expecting that the correct size pants would arrive as promised. Daughter cant wear XL pants and I get no refund. Dishonest. No quality control. . . only gave one star because its mandatory . . . .
If I were able to give a negative rating I would. Purchased some earrings for my wife’s birthday. It was sent via fedex which needed a signature upon delivery. Needless to say I never received my order. I contacted Belk’s customer service which they were useless. They said that my order was signed for. I even told them that I will send them my drivers license so that they can compare my signature to whatever signature they have. Have contacted their customer service a few more times and no response at all. So now I am out a few hundred dollars for an order I did not even receive.
Evans, GA store had the associate handling returns ONLY, doing new purchases too, while 10 people waited in line for returns! Not fair to us who had a return and places to go, things to do!I found a manager there and told her and she did nothing! I watched to see if she’d talk to that associate, but she ignored me.If this happens again, I will be voicing my objections out loud. These days, it’s scary to do that, as people stalk you to your car and some carry guns! Belk should be following their own rules! I am NOT a happy customer!
No one was willing or able to help me...no persons were at work...NO PEOPLE...JUST security...no water on in the restroom??? SERIOUSLY!!! WASHING OF HANDS??UNBELIEVABLE...
I didnt want to give this place a one star. I had ordered 4 pair of shoes as gifts. One pair was to be sent to an address and the three pair to another address. I received the one pair for the one address. I received one pair for the second address. The other two pair I never received. I called customer service was on hold 34 minutes someone picked up and hung the phone up. Called again and spoke with a guy named Justin, he said the other two pair were lost or never sent out. He said he would overnight them. Hung up with him and checked my email and he was overnighting the shoes to the wrong address. It plainly says in the order where the shoes are supposed to be shipped to. Had to call again and waited another 30 minutes to speak to Iris. She never apologized and neither did Justin. I canceled the order for the two pair of shoes. What a mess! Never again will I shop or buy from Belk.
I had only 15 mins to do so after the order was placed. Wait a minute if you were so involved with you dog couldnt you have help me? I have since then spent a total of 4 hours on hold and still yet to receive contact with a customer service representative. I sent an email to corporate and havent received a response. I am pretty sure I am done with Belk.Oh, and you can bet they charge my credit card.
You could save some hassel for customers if we were able to cancel our orders on line.Belks just doesnt care anymore.

As a long time customer of belk, I have dealt with countless rude employees, way too many exclusions on coupons, and flat out bad service. I have submitted several complaints on their website over the years all within reason. I have NEVER been contacted on any of those messages sent. Their customer service is an absolute joke, DO BETTER BELK.
I spoke with Lisa, a customer service rep, in the shipping department at Belk. She was so courteous and helpful and I’m very pleased with her service. She’s a big reason I’ll continue to shop at Belk
In March of 2020, I tried making 2 payments and both came back as insuff funds. Turns out, someone had used my debit card somewhere else in the US and the payments couldnt go through. I called customer service because I wanted toblet them know what happened, when it happened. The customer service representative told me that due to not able to work due to the virus, I would receive a bill in May and to pay in June, which I did. Now my account is close and the only way to get it opened is to try and get in touch with my bank to write a letter to have them say what happen. I hate dishonest people and really upset that I can shop at Belk anymore !!!
The worst online shopping experience. I have ordered hundreds of dollars in products over the past two months that have been cancelled by Belk more than a week after ordering. They are the most unreliable place to shop online. Please do not shop online at Belk if you are actually expecting to receive what you order. The cannot give you real time info on if your item is stocked or not, and takes them more than a week to let you know you items have been cancelled because they are out of stock. I have tried to buy gifts and necessities only to be left scrambling. I will not be ordering online again from belk.
I ordered merchandise to be sent to my home. I was sent the wrong mdse. No return slip was in the package; I called you but no one was answering the customer service number. I sent an explanation and request for assistance over a week ago. Got a computer generated response and no assistance so far. I’ve been a customer for 60 yrs as well as my mother before me. Crummy way to operate a business even under the current pandemic. I’d think you’d want to try to keep business going but obviously not. If I don’t get good assistance in 24 hrs, I’m posting complaint to all social media I use!!
I am not happy about my most recent experience with Belk management. They advertise great prices on certain items, but do not carry them in stock. When pressed, they refuse to provide rain checks. They simply say, Trust us, well call you when we get more of the item. Needless to say, I wont be holding my breath waiting for a call. A person can simply not remember his promise, but a rain check slip is positive proof. This is the oldest trick in the retail book. Get folks in the door with great advertised prices as bait and then sell them something more expensive. In consumer friendly states, this type of behavior is illegal, but in Georgia retail customers can be fleeced ad infinitum. See you around Belk, I wasnt born yesterday and I wont be back.
I gave a 1 star only because I had to choose something. I ordered an item 15 days ago and was sent an email stating it had shipped the next day and would be arriving no later than the following Monday. I have tried to use the tracking number and it just says pending. I still have not received my package. I have sent an email inquiry more than a week ago with no response, even though it says 5-7 days for them to reply. I have also called every single day and been on hold for more than 45 minutes to try and speak with someone and still no luck. I highly doubt that I will ever order any thing from Belk online ever again and maybe not even in store...Oh, and this dress was THE ONE my daughter chose for her high school graduation. So, Thanks Belk.
Ordered a Clinique product with gift option received product but not gift. Have contacted the company twice about this issue with no resolve. Very bad customer service and will never deal with company again buyer beware!
Belk has just sent me a notice that it is increasing the interest rate on my Belk credit card to 25.49%!!! I have an excellent credit rating, no late charges and pay my balance off each month. When I called the billing dept. they said its because the APR increased!! Dont use your Belk card people!
Horrible! No star in my opinion. My family and I were enjoying the Salisbury, NC store yesterday. My fiance had all 3 of our sons (4, 4 &5) sitting in the chairs in the shoe department. Two female workers sitting on the floor at the jewelry counter thought it was acceptable to talk about my children. Quoting id whoop those kids. As i stated my children where sitting down at this point! I asked them nicely if there was a problem. Of course they stumbled on their words and laughed it off like wow lady. However, i am livid and we will NEVER shop here again. Last time i checked yall have childrens sections.we walked out very professional ladies very professional.

I ordered some make up online. The day after I ordered it I got an email saying my product had shipped. It was Saturday so I knew it wouldn’t actually ship until Monday. They state that my credit card would not be charged until the product shipped. We’ll they charged my card and 2 weeks later it still hasn’t shipped. And they can’t tell me when it will ship. They won’t issue a refund for 14 business days. They tell me I can return it even though the website says make up isn’t returnable. But I have to take it to a fedex office to ship it. They blame it on Covid19 but according to other reviews this type of thing happened before the Covid. Really bad customer service. I am so disappointed in them because Belk has always been my favorite place to shop. I’ll have to rethink this.

I placed an online order last night. My credit card cleared the order. This morning I get an email stating my order was cancelled with no explanation. I called Customer Service who said that it was a Manager decision but no reason. I even spoke to a Customer Service Manager. No one can give me a reason!! I am only given a case number with a 3-5 day response time. Really poor customer service!! Never ordering anything online again.
I will not shop at Belks, in store on on line. I had a credit card and was one month late because I didnt get the Bill. I paid it immediately when I received it. They put it on my credit as deliquent, then as improved. Ive not had a balance with them since then, its been about 3 -4 months and they wont take it off my credit report. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BELKS TO ANYONE.
I ordered some items offline. The total amount came out of my account. A couple days later the jacket I ordered was refunded. I called to see what was going on with it and the lady said it wasnt in stock so I will not be getting it. I happen to call back because she gave me my coupon code to use again and it didnt work. The lady I was speaking to this time told me the jacket was on back order and I would get charged for it at some point whenever they got the jacker and shipped it out. I asked her if she could cancel the jacket she said no. I told her me checking my account just to see if the money happens to come out is a real inconvenience. She really didnt care and just said I would have to wait. I went to the store on my lunch break and spoke to the employee there and she said I wouldnt be getting the jacket since the money had gone back in my account so we ordered another one and I paid for it a different way. When I went back to work I did a chat with someone with Belk just to make sure because I was getting so many different answers to what was going on. The lady Brenda said that I would not be getting charged for the jacket only the shirt. She asked me if I wanted to cancel the item and I said yes because the other lady told me she couldnt do that. Brenda said she cancelled the item and I would not get charged. Wednesday 11/21/18 I checked my email and the jacket that I was not supposed to get was shipped and the money came out of my account couple days later. This really couldve messed my account up since it was cancelled but yet still came out. I am not happy with Belk and will probably not order or shop there anymore.
Same experiences. The Belk name used to stand for something. Now I wonder why they are still in business.
This is probably one of the absolute best department stores. The prices are always great and the customer service is always welcoming. If you ever come to South Park visit this store!

Really unhappy about the service we received today. We went into the store looking for a set of copper cookware and a sales woman helped us look and found single copper coated pans but no sets. We told her we didnt want the regular nonstick ones we wanted the ones with non stick copper inside. So she looked online and found what she said were a set of copper pans and we ordered them. Right after we got an email saying they got the order but wouldnt be charged until it shipped. I looked at the info about the product and saw they were copper colored pans but regular non stick inside. I called back to cancel and was told even though it hadnt shipped that they wouldnt stop the order and that we had to pay for them and return them. That is ridiculous to wait up to 10 days to get back the money and then have to go back to the store to even get the money. I wont order anything else from Belk in the future. Their return policy is making us have to go way out of our way to get back our money and were very unsatisfied.
I have been very disappointed the last few times Ive shopped at Belk in the Charlotte area. First of all, there are these huge clearance blowout signs hanging from the ceilings. I feel like Im in Big Lots, not what has always been a very nice Southern department store. There are also signs all over the place for sales. Its not the holidays, yet it looks like clearance sales after the holidays all the time. Its become very hard to find someone and various departments to help you. I would expect this type of shopping experience at Walmart, but not Belk.
If youre shopping store number 165 in Hendersonville NC, BEWARE! I had an issue where an employee typed in my card number without my permission for a fraudulent transaction. Possibly to run my card and then take cash from the drawer. I spoke with the manager Lori Blanchard and she referred me to an old creep named Allen Hyder. Alan laughed at my situation and then proceeded to tell me how he would handle my situation only if I sent in the young lady wearing a red shirt and driving a white car with Florida plates. I wouldnt dare send ANY young lady in to speak with you about anything, you filthy old man! Lori, the manager, didnt seem to care when I spoke with her about Allens actions and gave me a fake phone number to call the district manager.
I remember when Belk was a beautiful place to shop. The clothes were gorgeous. The customers were classy and wouldnt let their children run around or touch anything. Everything was in place and clean. Now it looks like a thrift store and I have yet to go into a belk, from here to Georgia, that wasnt a nasty, disgusting mess. What happened? I refuse to walk into one anymore. I cancelled my account after 25 years. I remember, if you got a belk box at Christmas, you were getting something special. If I were to get one today, I would think the person giving it to me didnt think very much of me. It went from class to trash in just a few short years.
The deceptive and some would argue fraudulent ads that this department store chain routinely runs tells you a lot about what kind of operation they are. They constantly run ads that state a certain percentage off yet almost nothing in the store is covered. The stores are full of name brands yet the name brands dont apply to the sales. Another common deception they pull is a scratch off coupon included in their flyers- a certain percentage of 5 -20% of so. Yet when you try to use the coupon it never applies to anything you are buying. Once I had a cashier admit that the advertisements were scams so at least they have one honest employee.
Found myself shopping next to a dog who eventually wrapped the leash around my legs. When I complained to an employee, I was told they dont want to offend the dog so they allow it. Well, take notice Belk, I am offended. I will not set foot in any Belk again. What has happened to common sense???? Didnt realize dogs were such big spenders.

On 4-4-2019 at Belk in Pensacola, Florida, I was shopping for a watch in preparation for an award ceremony the next day. The clerk (associate #007749) did not seem interested in helping me make a purchase. After helping several other customers, one customer that approached the counter well after me said, Its okay, you can go ahead and help him first. Were still looking. Although I felt like I was told...you have to ride in the back of the bus, I waited because I really needed a watch and watches were 30% off. Its sad that in 2019 people still behave this way. Thank God for Google reviews!!! I hope this helps someone somewhere.
I have brushed it off far too many times... As I shop at Belk in Greer, SC I noticed how everyone except the black customers were greeted. I have noticed this in the past, but my daughter urged me to let it go. Today was the last straw! I will no longer shop here or any Belks stores. Thrice is far too many occurrences of such behavior. One day a young female bumped into me, with no apologies. She was trying to help a white customer at the fragrance counter. I just stopped, starred, and said Excuse me for being in the way. I briefly left. Someone needs some ethnic training!
Made an online order. It came broken. I have been trying for weeks to get a response from customer service. They were glad to charge my credit card. And will not respond to my request for a refund.
Before I composed this review, I looked at all the unhappy customers reviews and knew I wasnt alone in my experience with Belk. I was placing an order online and realized that the order was for a jacket only and not the complete pant suit. I immediately called the customer service center, which indicated they would call me back in 10 mins. I received a return phone call back and gave the lady my information and requested to cancel the order. She stated it had been over 15 mins. and their system wont allow them to cancel the order. I was so disappointed in the conversation and customer service displayed, as Belk is not a customer friendly place of business. They are not willing to work out customers complains, but forces customers to go through an unnessary process that they could prevent ahead of time. So, I have to receive the item and return it before I can be reimbursed and it had been less than 30 mins. since I placed the order. Deserve zero star.....
I was a temporary sales associate for Christmas time and I never got my w2 sent to my address. HR wont help me and neither will corporate (which is a joke). Ive tried calling and leaving messages daily for over a week and never got ahold of a rep. I finally get through to someone another week in of calling and the rep. was rude, wouldnt help me and hung up on me. Here I am trying to call again for 3 days and No one will answer or call me back. The poorest customer service Ive ever experienced.
You should be ashamed and worried to drop any line that you previously felt strongly enough to carry based on its merits. If it was good enough before this person father became President! If you want to be in politics you should close the stores and go for it!My mother worked for you over 25 years and she must be rolling over in her grave. My husband called my attention to this and I can promise we will not be back....Disgusted!
I had a horrible customer service experience. The phone system did not work properly. When I finally spoke to a person I was bounced from person to person, The first person told me my ordered was on hold and I needed to re ordered. Switched me to customer service, who then switched me to online orders. I spoke to four different people. The last person could not be heard, I asked that the volume be adjusted as miind was on max, should not or would not.I asked that I be switched to a supervisor or at least another worker hoping for better volume, he did neither, I asked his name I think he mumbled something but I COULD NOT HEAR HIM. I waited for the survey but surprise, SURPISE !!! I was disconnected.
I am really sick and tired of yall bad customer services @ your Summit store this is second time that I have encountered being treated like I shouldnt be there or dont have the money to buy your products. I was purchasing the Dolce G Light Blue it is one of my favorite scents to white females refused to help me so I went and got a black lady to help me and gave her my sale of over a $100 total. The last time I had a white woman tell me when i required about the different in price of the product after stating the price she proceeds to say but she dont know my budget it a smart matter & I informed her that I dont have one & you only leave once and of course she tried to redeem herself but the two i spoken of earlier was real rude & nasty doesnt need to be in customer service period!! I worked for Publix for 6 years were we hold Great Standards & Expectation!! I dont know who does the hiring but the really need to do better in who they hire because customers service plays a big part in your bussiness but you all will not get anymore of mines and I will be sure to let my family & friends know about my experience!!
I do not even have a belk store in my area, but my Daughter in law lives in state that has one! I called to order her a gift Card for her Birthday . It was supposed to arrive on April 29, I ordered it on the 24th, and that was 5 days, which I thought was a long time, so when I called Belk said, there was a delay, when I asked, why?, they said, I DONT KNOW! and told me, I would receive it on the 30th, It did not come. So I called again, they gave me a ticket #, and said that Corporate would call me the next day..they never called! so I called the next day, PLEASE keep in mind that each time I call, I am on hold 1/2 hr to a full hr!!! I was told again that Corporate would call me back, with a new ticket #!! No one called me! so I called Corporate, and Paula said she would call me right back, NOTHING!!! I hated to give one star, but I had to, in order to place a review!

The Gallatin Tn Belks store is the worst department store I have ever been in!! I shop at the one in Bowling green Ky. I refuse to go in that store in Gallatin!! it is cluttered and as far as friendliness there is none.
First before I get started I would like to say thank you to Humid, and Mike who run the shoe dept at Belks Dept store in Christians burg Va . Very professional men who treated me like a customer and not a number .10-18-2016 At 10.00 am I walked into the store with a pair of high dollar dress shoes and that I bought less then 3 month ago. I showed the shoes to both men and explain to them that the shoes looked new But had holes in the bottom from very light wear .. I never suggested in any way I wanted money back..I just wanted a little love on my next puchace .Less than a second after looking at my shoes they where on the phone with the Manger of the store . Wow,,, Not only did they have sympathy for me they explain some times shoe have defects. In my case no doubt.Not only did they put the credit back on my card they actually care about me...That is hard to find...Not only did I replace my shoes with new Rock ports,,, I bought a new pair of Sperry water pair boots .I thank the store very much and it well always have my business..Now i know why I have been a card holder from day 1......Thank you all for being there for me .Ron Ginger.

Your flower mound Texas store .. 2499 has turned into TJ Maxx and the manager there is horrible. The 20 something staffers are on their phone, They Don’t look at you and can never seem to find anything at all— without so much as an effort they dismiss it with “OH I dont know”youve got boxed shoes like Payless And all the clothes are just disheveled and a mess!I will not be in there again I’m not sure what you thought by putting him in that position but what he has done has turned this Belks into is equivalent to a McDonald’s in the food service industry..And whatever degree he got he should ask for his money back because clearly it didn’t train him for anything and you should find somebody who knows what they’re doing
Roryann Rieger, a Division Manager in Florida, was extremely disrespectful. I have shopped at Belk for many years and never complained or ever had any problem. One day this week there was one after another mishap--associates not knowing what merchandise was advertised, questioning use of store boxes after buying four shirts, thinking the sale was the next day--it wasnt. In all of that, the associates were very polite. The real upset, however, was when my card was denied as I stood at the counter with merchandise. The associate was very nice and suggested the usual--maybe you didnt call in to authorize card, maybe over your limit, etc. As I stood there attempting to get my purchase approved, I called the number on back of my card. They asked me usual identity questions and then asked my annual net income. (My balance was zero and perfect credit) I had been a customer for many years but could not get my purchase approved without that answer. I asked to speak to the store manager because I was very upset about and wanted to express my upset. Eventually Roryann came out and refused to take me to an office. I told her I wanted to sit down and she directed me to the mall seating outside the store. She then refused to sit so I could tell her my concerns. She accused me of yelling--I was not. Eventually the store manager came into the mall and SAT down and I calmly explained my concerns but mostly the privacy issue of my income before they would approve my account which I had had for years. That went well and he was extremely nice. I have always been very happy with my local Belk but believe that the division manager needs some customer relations training and that I deserve an apology.

I have been an elite rewards card holder since 2004. I have cancelled my card and will no longer shop at Belk. I do this because corporate took a political stand. Many times labels/brands have been dropped and when I discovered it, I moved on to another label/brand. However, never was that advertised publicly as was the recent drop of the Ivanka Trump line, and the timing of this was very political. Most of those protesting the line never shopped Belk and pressured corporate who fell into the political arena. I protest your move. I am done with Belk.
I am in bells in laurens. Cant find anyone that is working in here, and just talked to 3 more customers that side same thing. Thay walked out. I did find one lady she said they had no help and some one would be here in 15 more minutes.
Belks store at Haywood mall in Greenville SC do NOT shop! I was told (with a receipt in my hand) from a store employee I made claims I purchased clothing at the price I paid and he refused to look atthe receipt. Was trying to get a gift card refund from an online purchase!

Ill never shop here again. Been shopping at Belk for 50 years. Not allowing Salvation Army bell ringers. Doesnt cost them anything but costing Sal Army $1,000,000 or more. You wont miss my shopping money but did want to let you know.

Honestly, Belk has been my place to shop since I was a child and my Mom always shopped there. I became a card holder in my 20s and an Elite Card Holder by 1991. Imagine my surprise when my bank tells me I need to see a major change in my credit report. I had just received an email the day before and my numbers were good . Next I check the report for the alert I received and found Belk closed my account. Customer Service looked it up and said it was because I hadnt made a recent purchase . What the CSR didnt realize is when she quoted my credit score, I had the one in front of me showing what it was before Belk pulled my card and pretty much devastated me credit wise. Sad but true, what Belk did has been ruled as legal as long as you are notified within 45 days of cancellation. I havent received that letter yet but imagine the embarrassment if I had gone shopping as planned that day. I was a long term and good customer for over 30 yrs and this is what happens to good customers. This was my go to store because it was not in a huge mall that is much harder for a disabled person to get around in. To all you new card holders, charge charge, charge! Who cares if you pay on time . Belk obviously doesnt just as long as you make frequent charges on their card, hence making money for the company that actually issues Belk Credit.I would like to add I finally received the notice in the mail 4/17/2017, the top reason stated for closing my account was something regarding suspected misuse, then no recent charges. I did call the number provided for inquiry and asked the CSR to explain the misusage. She saw nothing about that in my file . Just showed my payments for purchases thru mid year 2015. I was offered the option of applying for a new card but turned it down based on what Belks closing of my account already did to my credit score . I expressed how much damage was done and was told that Belks CSR could not fix the mess they created and I would have to contact one of the credit reporting agencies to see if they would remove the data from my file. Again I was apologized to profusely and the CSR agreed none of this should have happened but it was their job. If this account hadnt been so old, the closing/cancellation would not have as much effect on my credit score . I do find it irresponsible for Belk and their card service provider to make decisions like they did concerning me without at least finding out if a real problem exsisted other than no recent charges to my Elite Card. All they needed to do was make a phone call.I am still in possession of an email from Belk concerning a 20% discount on my entire purchases for a day. I received this after an order I placed in line wasnt correct. I do wonder if it will still be honored...
Screw belks..they have my account so screwed up that it will never get straighten out.. Once I do their card will be cut up and I will only use my Visa..Had to do the same with macy card last year because of the bank they both use
Have been a client for over 30 years but will never place another order with Belk. On hold on my 5th phone call regarding an incomplete order that I placed on 11/25/2015. They claim to be waiting on an email from Corporate to ship my missing bowls. In the mean time, Christmas is only 3 days from now and I have been cheated out of a present ordered one month ago. This is my 5th call and 5th representative who does not care and will take no action. So very disappointed in the department store that I grew up with and has been a big part of my adult life as well.
I was at the Lancome counter Columbiana Centre, the sales associate Amanda was very rude all up in my face. I made a prior purchase, asked if i could return it. She was very loud and told me you cant just return something just to get a giftnever letting tell her i wanted a different product. She out right told me Even if you repurchased you will not get a gift. If Belk do not care about losing a $70.00 purchase, i will return my item and purchase all my Lancome products at other stores.
I have NEVER had such horrible experiance EVER at a Belk in my entire life. I was told to SHUT up by a sales associate in front of a manager and he did nothing to calm the situation. unbeleivable. If this is the employees they are now hiring I will never step in again

Dont get thier credit card, i was a customer for over two years never missed a payment always paid on time I change Banks and I forgot to change the payment from that bank my check went through for non-sufficient funds, meanwhile I made a payment to my new bank account the other check didnt go through so they closed my account one time this is not fair this was an accident an oversight and this company is not a good company management wise to work with very disappointed and I advise not to shop there and use their credit cards
