The technicians are prompt, efficient and respectful. They are also very knowledgeable and do not try to sell a bunch of services/repairs that are not needed. Great company to do business with.

Our technician, Jeff did a great job inspecting and cleaning my HVAC system. Jeff showed great attention to detail while he performed his inspections and cleaning. Jeff also took the time to answer any question I had. I was very pleased with the service I received from Russell & Abbott.

Update: theyre starting to get shady. While the tech was here he talked me into a seasonal service plan. It sounded great. Were not available until the evenings so I checked with him and he assured me that theyll work with my schedule. Im guessing he said whatever he needed to get a commission check. I tried to schedule my service and was informed that theyll only come out m-f until 4:30 at the latest. They also werent going to issue a refund for a service we couldnt use. I finally convinced them to schedule a later appointment for us. One of the high points in the past was their outstanding customer service but if theyre going to start misleading customers to sell plans then that changes things. They still do great work but it looks like we need to start being more careful if we decide to hire them. Im just going to assume that theyll use the maintenance service to try and sell me a new unit.He fixed my ac quickly and at a reasonable price. He showed up on time and the entire visit took less than 30 minutes. A lot of other places would have tried to sell me a brand new unit with their special in house financing so it was nice not having to deal with that.

Service call was for schedued fall maintenance for my Onyx HVAC. The unit needed a minor repair that was covered by the 10 year parts, labor and maintenance warranty. Technician was professional, knowledgeable & friendly. The free 10 year warranty for parts, labor & maintenance that came with the Onyx unit was a major factor in my selection 3 years ago. Performance of the Onyx has exceeded my expectations.

The technicians spent almost two hours here making sure my heat pump and new thermostat were working properly. The heat pump required some part replacements which they had available in their truck. The new thermostat cost was a bit higher than I wanted, but it is nice to have one that can be programmed from my phone.

We purchased our Onyx system in September of 2018 and until last Friday we have had no problems out of the split unit. That is when I first noticed the system was not working and a phone call later we had a tech scheduled to be at the house later that afternoon. The tech was punctual and after about an hour or so he told my wife that it had blown a transformer and it was gonna cost approximately 250 to replace it. My wife had to inform him that we had the 10-10-10 ONYX warranty which means parts and labor were covered for ten years.After replacing the transformer he switched on the system again and it immediately blew again. At this point we are told he is sorry but it would be Monday before he could even order another. No explain of the problem just sorry maybe Monday if he could get the part. Around mid day on Monday I still hadnt heard from anybody and decided to call them. I was told they were still sourcing the parts and couldnt tell me anything until they found the parts.Monday evening I received a call that they had the parts and would be there Tuesday morning, which they did. The tech arrived about 945 in the morning and was still working on the system when I got home. He said that he had replace a laundry list of parts but was waiting on yet another part to be sent from the shop. While waiting I see him throw his phone across the yard and then kick his soda in the same direction. He informed me that water had backed up in the part of the unit inside the house and cause a bunch of the part to burn out and after replacing them he found it had blown a mainboard in the compressor unit outside and once again he was sorry but they would have to see IF they could get the part and thats just the way it was and left.Wednesday morning I received another call and they had found the part and the tech would be out to affect the repairs. Which he did show up and finally we had air conditioning again.Then Around three oclock this afternoon(Thursday) my wife notices there is water coming out of the area where the inside unit is and AGAIN the tech was dispatched this evening and she was told the drain pipe was disconnected from the unit and water from the condenser was running out onto the floor and we thought great easy fix, all is well.Oh, but wait. I come home from work and notice the thermostat reads 75 and it is set for 72 and yet I can hear it running. A little investigation reveals the compressor outside seems to be working but the blower in the house is not.To say I am frustrated would be a grand understatement.I sit here looking at an agreement that uses words like we are committed to keeping you clean air comfortable for years to come, and you selected a cooling system with exceptional reliability, superb value (not true, way overpriced) and a robust warranty.I firmly believe that the spring maintenance, which they failed to perform could have caught this before it got to be a problem.I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Russell and Abbott.They have failed to live up to expectations for such an expense system.

I contracted Russell & Abbott to replace my HVAC System November 2019. After 6 months of experience with the system, I am very satisfied with the installation and performance of their Onyx equipment. The sales representative provided a very thorough evaluation, explanation, and estimate. The installation team did a great job, and the system is performing as advertised. My first 6 month Tune-Up was just accomplished. The office staff provided excellent communication regarding the appointment. I was offered alternate service times due to cancellations, and kept up to date on the technicians arrival time.Like the installation team, the technician was friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, & professional. I observed some of the work during the service call, and was impressed with the quality of tools & test equipment being used. I inquired about technical training, and was informed the technicians are consistently updated with the latest innovations and procedures. I can highly recommend Russell & Abbott for HVAC service.1 year update: After operating through all four seasons, I am still very satisfied with the Onyx equipment and Russell & Abbott. Technician Daniel came by recently to perform another 6 month check-up (tune-up). The visit was well coordinated and on time. Daniel is efficient, courteous, and professional. All is well, next tune-up scheduled for May 2021.May 2021: 6 month check-up by Zach. Friendly, professional, knowledgeable. No problems, 2 year check scheduled for Nov 2021.

Tim and Brandon are very professional and friendly. They went above and beyond when I asked them if they could remove a couple of screws from a treadmill I was dismantling. They couldnt get the screws out, but had a saw in their vehicle that sliced right through the metal. They even helped me move what was left of the treadmill to the garage. Chris Kelso came out a few minutes before the time the receptionist had given me, which was a blessing.Also, he was very nice and professional. He fixed the problem in a timely manner, showed me a picture of the problem and explained what he had done. Russell and Abbott had sent me a picture of Chris before he came out which I think is a great idea - that way you know you’re not inviting a stranger into your home.I highly recommend this company if you are having any heating/air issues.

The technician Adam arrived on time, and he fixed my AC within half an hour! He filled me in on how my unit had discontinued parts and what my options were, but he did not try to upsell me anything I didnt need. I would definitely recommend them!

They worked me in that day and a service tech met me at my house at 5:30. Luckily there was nothing significantly wrong with the unit.....he diagnosed it and had it up and running within 30 minutes. Our service person, Daniel, was excellent! He was right on time, and he explained everything he was doing thoroughly and courteously. We signed up for the twice/year maintenance plan, which we felt was a good bargain. We were pleased to find out that when we needed to replace a part on the furnace, it was discounted as part of our having signed up for the yearly maintenance plan.

$97 AC maintenance checkup. I was impressed with the maintenance man. I followed him all around. He was quite competent and very cordial.

We love using Russell & Abbott and will continue to do so. Our last experience was somewhat frustrating though. Our downstairs heating system was having problems coming on in the morning after a very cold night. Because the technician could not see a code it was assumed it was our thermostat. We had the same type of problem upstairs a year ago and it was a problem with the board. We discussed this possibility but after the 2nd visit they recommend we buy a new thermostat to rule it out. Instead of buying a new one, we took the thermostat from downstairs and put it on the upstairs unit and it turned the system on without problems. We did this twice just to be sure. We reported this to the technician but since there was no code they didnt know what to fix. Finally, after the 4th visit the technician saw the problem and it was the board. We had several nights without heat during this process. Luckily we sleep upstairs so it wasnt too bad up deal with but I wish there was a better way to diagnose these types of problems so it doesnt require multiple visits and the customer buying something that may not be necessary. It may be a good idea to have a test thermostat on hand so the technician can rule that out and look for other issues.

Your service man was very polite and checked areas of the unit I never saw anyone else check. I would recommend him to others.

An appointment was requested for the following day for next day service. By that mid morning after request was made, a service tech called and responded to the appointment request. About an hour and 1/2 prior to appt, another serviced called and asked to move up appointment, which was accepted. Total appointment time was less than 30 minutes, with a quick diagnosis of issue and steps taken to correct problem. I am happy to have had a kind and patient technician, who was honest and trustworthy. Will be calling again for additional maintenance if needed!

When my elderly mothers air went out I was concerned for her safety. I called Russell & Abbott and within a short time, servicman Stephen Valentine was at my moms house evaluating the system. Within minutes he figured out the problem, drove 45 minutes to pick up the part and had it installed. Stephen was super friendly and told my mom she would be making snow angels in her living room within no time!. She was so appreciative of Stephens professionalism and kindness. After about 7 - 8 years of a challenge with condensation in our AC unit that many technicians and several companies had tried to correct, Coles curiosity sent him looking for another solution. He found oil on one of the coils, cleaned it completely, and within days the pooling water in the garage had stopped. Thank you Cole.

I was concerned about some noises I was hearing from our HVAC unit.Brandon did a thorough job of checking every aspect of our HVAC system. He kept me informed of his findings every step of the way. One of the noises I was hearing was normal during the defrost cycle of the external unit. The other noise I was hearing was from the air handling unit inside. Brandon showed me and explained the noise was coming from contact relays that were chattering owing to corrosion. Brandon recommended and I agreed to change them out, which he did.
