I have been coming here my entire life and was extremely disappointed in my last visit. The staff was unprofessional and distracted. Mind you, it was 9pm and we were one of two occupied tables in our section. The waitress got one of our orders wrong and instead of just owning the mistake, she said that another server “stole” the wrap and the kitchen was making another one.We then had to wait ~10 min for the correct wrap - a chicken gyro wrap - because the server was having a heated discussion with the manager which likely caused her to be distracted. There was also a busboy speaking on FaceTime in the opposite corner of the section, which was annoying and loud.The beer battered cod sandwich I ordered was barely edible. The only plus was the curly fries I received by mistake.I will say that the waitress and manager did sense our growing displeasure, as the waitress offered a dessert on the house. We declined and the manager ultimately removed one of our meals from the bill.Other family members of mine have also had less than stellar experiences at MD recently. Unclear if I will return.
Went here the other day for a dinner date with my husband and our son. The whole atmosphere was perfect. The employees were all kind and very attentive. This one waitress that was working in a different section kept playing this funny game with my son and leaving random things like extra straws a jelly packet and a mayo packet. She really made him feel special and giggle. I wish I would have gotten her name. We will be returning again. Thank you for the amazing experience.

I went there for a 1 pm birthday 🎉for my friends daughter.There was 8 of us. My friend asked for 3 separate checks as one couple paid for themselves, and the party girl was on another, and I paid for my friend Sue and I. We were assured that was possible.The diner was very crowded w several large groups at tables.While the food was good, the unprofessional attitudes of the young waiter, and a waitress was very disappointing. 🤨After our meal we told it wasnt possible after all to get separate checks, and we waited about half an hour ro receive the check. It appeared that they were short of help. When were asked about our order for desserts, the young waiter only waited to get a few before the rest of us could order! I had to look for him to complete my order and my friends, because he said no one spoke up.Anyway I was the last to leave and apologized to him for his rough time w so many customers and he made a remark that I didnt understand. We ended up w 2 of us going separately to pay our bill and tell this manager? What we ordered. I could tell the workers were very stressed and tried to catch up doing their job.We all agreed not to go back again. The food was good, but not the service. I was late for my next commitment!
Half price apps were great and the lemon cake had amazing flavor and texture.
I am a truck driver who ordered via door dash. The driver got lost trying to find my location and was late. The food was a little cold but still tasted awesome. That speaks volumes. The food was great! Keep up the good work and hopefully I can actually get to eat at the diner itself!!
I have been a customer of this location for 23 years. I placed a take-out order. One of the items was a Reuben sandwich. When I got home and opened up the package, what I got was far from a Reuben sandwich. The sandwich was mostly all mushrooms, hardly any corned beef (which was mostly all fat) and no sauerkraut. I’ve never heard of a reuben sandwich having mushrooms on it. Even the menu doesn’t state that it contained mushrooms. However, the menu did indicate that it came with side order of a pickle & coleslaw which I also did not receive. I called the diner to discuss my issue. Pat, who answered the phone, first accused me of having an attitude, when all I did was simply explain to him what I ordered & what I received. He then replied “well, what do you want me to do?”. I then asked for the manager and he stated that he was the manager. Never in my life have I heard a person in a managerial position speak this way to a customer. I explained to him that if in fact he was the manager, he should have first apologized for the issue, then offered a replacement sandwich. The fact that I needed to educate him on how to properly resolve this situation was infuriating in itself. He then replied with an attitude “well if you want another sandwich, I’ll give you a new sandwich”. At that point, I decided to just share my story with any potential customers that may possibly read this review. To first charge top dollar for subpar food & then to speak to a customer with no respect or concern for the complaint is unacceptable. The owners of this diner should really reconsider who they have managing their restaurant. A simple problem with a simple resolution is all that this should have been, but instead they’ve lost a long standing customer due to the lack of professionalism exhibited by Pat, the manager.
The food was just edible, the sausage I had with breakfast would have been better on a hero with peppers and onions.As I finished my meal I noticed that the place was dirty ..looks like it never gets a deep cleaning, as I watched a employee cleaning a table for the next customer he did a poor job cleaning the table top and as for the seat he just brushed the crumbs off with the rag he barely wiped the table with .I should have left when the coffee cup I was given was dirty as if never cleaned.Never going back there !
Just had dinner at the diner, first time in a restaurant since covid started. I had the pleasure of meeting Sandra, one of the friendliest waitresses I’ve ever met. Helpful and very sweet helping my husband and I chose our entrees. I will definitely be going back and I will ask to be seated in Sandra s section.
Great food. Quick and efficient and very friendly service. The waitress named Sandra took such great care of me and my family it was just unbelievable. Sandra honestly was the best waitress I have ever encountered in any restaurant. Her very friendly and humorous personality really made us feel comfortable and fun. She’s a jewel and I really enjoyed every moment of her service.
Went there tonight. Food was good but our server was SONDRA who was very rude to us. She said verbatim “it’s too much hassle to split the check” amongst us. I asked what berry were the “berry pancakes” and she was very annoyed trying to recall if it was strawberry or blueberry. One friend ordered home fries. Another ordered hash browns. She was very short with us telling us that they were the same thing. When we paid at the register, she again mumbled to the cashier that splitting our $46.50 bill among three people (literally $15.50 per person) was something she simply does not do. She was in such a terrible mood. Will not be back. Sadly seems like many other reviews have a similar experience with service.

Overpriced and not that great! Chocolate milk too sweet, everything overdone. My husband and I went for a diner breakfast and it cost us $50, sneaky with the price of the sides. Seemed like we were getting bacon, sausage, home fries combo but they charged us per item so the sides cost $15. Crazy at a diner!
The kitchen is FAST! The food is hot and delicious, all the favorites are served. We had breakfast and it was so good.Our server was attentive, warm and welcoming.Hope ro be back soon!

Just ok the bus boys pretend to not see your empty water glass. The tall duffus at the register was rude, took my money never said a thing. Probably the owners spoiled son. Someone should remind him that hes in the hospitality business.
Just had the Mexican avocado toast!! Yum! And a stack of pancakes. Also yum! Was given a free slice of the traditional cheesecake!! Was also YUM! What a great place and great food. Friendly service all around.
My experience was nothing less than spectacular all thanks to my absolutely amazing waitress Sondra! The food was amazing which is a constant. I have never encountered a more passionate and engaged waitress in my life and I’m not over exaggerating. She was the realest most polite person I have come across in an extremely long time which means a lot amidst this pandemic when every encounter is now just an impersonal transaction. I loved the service she provided us and hope to see her as I continue dining here.
Great diner, great food and service. Prices are reasonable. I was there on a recent Sunday morning and the service was excellent even though they were very busy. By the time we were finished, there was a line of people waiting to get in. A very popular place.

This is my go to spot while visiting NY. The food and service are consistent and the employees are such warm, happy, wonderful people. I am always taken by the level of attentiveness by the waiters and that they always remember their regulars. If you are in the area I highly recommend they’ve got great desserts and fantastic burgers.
I was at the Massapequa Diner at 11pm tonight. Extremely slow service! I waited 15 minutes after being seated and no one came to my table, but other tables were served and cleared. I complained to the manager and got no apology. In fact he told me if I didn’t like it I should leave, and then continued to carry on about it at the front desk. Whatever happened to the customer is always right and should appreciate and respect the customer?!?! He is the rudest person I ever met! I live in Massapequa and will never step foot in the Massapequa Diner again. Will tell all my family and friends about this incident and will post comments on all my other social media about this shabby and rude treatment!
Me and my wife have ordered from this place a few times now. And we ordered it through delivery first few time ok I get mistakes second time called and mentioned it 3rd time no good tired of getting food but missing the main ingredient to eat it how do u forget things. After calling lady on phone says I Believe my packet but I Believe you……you can’t do both. Just saying. Will not be ordering take out from here any more 3rd time is a charm
What can I say about this establishment except I’m never disappointed in their food and customer service. Their waitstaff is so friendly and helpful with recommendations.Their dinner specials are great for the price and food is always cooked to perfection from their pastas to their burgers.It’s always my first choice when I want comfort food.
Staff are very rude late at night even when coming to pick up a to-go order, but otherwise the food is good, options are great and service is speedy. One of the better 24/7 diners in the area, and one that I frequent.

Update: Id give more than 5 stars if I could. I ordered last night after work for take out and when I was waiting, I witnessed something that was handled better than most people would. A few young adults came in and had an attitude right off the bat. They were cursing, making nasty comments and being downright hurtful. The man behind the counter was, as always, very professional and kept his cool. He handled the situation perfectly and deescalated it before it got out of control. His professionalism alone will having me coming back!I just had my first experience here with my boyfriend and we are really happy...and stuffed! I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and he got a honey mustard chicken panini. He loved his, and my burger was cooked to perfection. We were given a great portion of fries and walked out beyond satisfied. Our server was very attentive and had us laughing and in good spirits. We will definitely come back for the food, as well as knowing we will be taken care of!
I have been a customer at this diner for over 30 years. Food always good. Tonight I ordered two BLT’s to go. When I got the order the two sandwiches were in there but there was basically no bacon. You would think it would be impossible to screw this up but I guess nothing is impossible. This is the second bad meal we have gotten there and I think the last. Don’t know want happened place used to be great.

I ordered a Buffalo grilled cheese sandwich with curly fries and a chocolate shake. The recipe for this sandwich is genius and I have ordered it about 10 times. The first time I ordered it, it was delicious! Every time after that there was something wrong with it. Tonight was the worst. The bread was not toasted all over. Parts of the sandwich tasted like plain mushy white bread. The chicken was so chewy I couldn’t eat it. The portion of fries was very cheap and half of them were too hard to eat. The chocolate shake wasn’t a shake. It was basically soft serve Ice cream with a straw. So disappointed in this dinner.
I have had many pleasant experiences at this diner however today was horrible. In addition I have invited my family to this diner and ordered uber eats im excess of over 100 dollars for family functions from Massapequa Diner. I am not happy at all about writing this review. I am a teacher on summer vacation and decided to treat myself to breakfast. I stood at the door for five minutes waiting to be seated. I was seated only because I asked should I seat myself. After being seated the waitress assigned to my table looked at me numerous times with empty hands and never came to serve me until the manager instructed her to do soMaybe I was not acknowledged because I look different from everyone else in the DinerUltimately I left and informed the manager that I will take my money elsewhere. Extremely disappointed and disgusted that people are still allowed to treat others in this fashion
I took my mom there the other day. My whole family and I used to go pretty much once a week when George was the owner. It used to be a great place. But when my mom and I went. The burger was way over cooked, the chicken sandwich that my mom got had 1 peice of chicken. And those 2 things we got and 1 soda, came out to over 50 dollars. Last time going there
We’ve gotten delivery 2x. Once on my birthday. We ordered 3 waffles, they sent 2. Then again today. I ordered a turkey burger with cheese and bacon and a side pickles. They sent turkey burger with cheese. No bacon. HALF a pickle and HALF A POUND of coleslaw. Burger was bone dry, bun was wet and fries were cold and wet. They don’t even try. I honestly would’ve been better off going to freakin Wendy’s, would’ve paid less too. Never again. Save your money and stomach.
Whoever the actual owner or boss is. Sandra is absolutely amazing, you can tell that she loves what she does and this is more than just a job for her. She obviously enjoys making the customers feel welcomed and taken care of. She deserves employee of the year or something. Oh and the food is good too lol
I wonder if sandwiching the container with the side salad between two hot containers was their way of telling my husband and I not to come back?It was a great in-restaurant experience. It was clean. Everyone was friendly - staff & other guests. It wasn’t crowded.I’m not sure how such an amateur mistake could be made at such an established business. It’s suspicious at best.

I ordered a gyro deluxe with a Greek salad and sweet potatoes fries.. There was a $4.95 upcharge for the salad and fries. The meal consisted of the gyro meat on a stale pita, with the lettuce and feta that is always on a gyro to begin with. No extra Greek salad. And the fries were barely edible. They were still partially raw. I wound up paying $18 for disgusting food. Will never eat here ahain.

Walked in 20 minutes ago, closed our menus a couple minutes later. No one came to serve us...I moved the menus to the edge of the table. Several other people were seated and served after us, after 20 minutes I left hungry and the host ignored us when we walked out. Why wasnt I served?????!
Came here for dinner on a weekend. The place looks nice and new but dont be fooled. It took over an hour to get my food. I didnt get cold slaw and a pickle which I was suppose to get with my meal. I almost walked out but then my food came. I didnt even think about getting dessert. The staff seemed to be fighting. The waitresses was nice and did apologize. If you see this place is crowded, turn around and go somewhere else. COVID rules apply.
They offer outside and indoor dining the dinner wasnt too crowded but did a fair amount of tables filled outside and indoors was less than half full the wait time wasnt even a minute we were seated right away indoors, they are following social distancing seating and cleaning tables. Once we ordered our food it took about 10-15 mins to come out they didnt have the Mac and cheese bites they had ran out of it no problem. Food was decent I would definitely substitute the fries with another type of non fried substitute as the fries looked like they were cooked in old oil. The waiter wasnt attentive as much with my family once he put the order in for our table. We asked for extra napkins, hot sauce, and jelly for the bagel we ordered but it never arrived maybe he forgot honest mistake and he never came to check on us if we needed anything else like refills on coffee, soda napkins etc. Thankfully the bust boy/ food arunner was able to help us with the things we needed towards the end of our meal. They were other tables around us with the same waiter tending to their needs as well but felt we were forgotten once we had our food brought to us by him. Ill give the waiter the benefit of the doubt if they are understaffed due to Covid but overall food was decent the waiting staff not attentive.

Love this diner! I dont go as often as I would like because I live all the way out East BUT every year on Thanksgiving we go for dinner and they definitely dont disappoint! Great food and great staff as well. Will continue to go there and will try to go more often!
Just left this place on 4/6/21 at 12am. We were told after waiting by front counter without being greeted that they stopped indoor seating at 7:30pm. Had to wait 5 mins for someone to come out to tell us that. Worker was rude and went straight back to the kitchen and did not offer any us to order for take out or anything.Came here in middle of pandemic and was served no problem. Aside from the laws, at least offer better customer service.Go to Light house diner if you want better service and better food.

Perfect 24HR diner! We came here on a late Sunday evening with a party of about 15 and the staff very quickly put together a table for us. Our server was more than polite and friendly and did not seem the least bit overwhelmed by our big party. She very efficiently and quickly took orders (about 6 split checks), all our food came out quick and no order was messed up. The best part... huge portions of delicious food! MUST COME!

One of the worst burgers ever made. Just moved into the neighborhood was expecting quality regular plain cheese burger ended up with the wrong order 1st and 2nd lettuce was old as well as the tomatoes. 1st and last time ordering out from here

This place is nothing more than Fair. The food could taste alot better. The waiters/waitresses can be a little more assertive. I actually had to get the waiters attention for a refill and some extra napkins! The irony is the waiters/waitresses expect a 20% tip which I wouldnt mind if the service was actually good! I just dont get it Go figure!

Some of the biggest tastiest pancakes I have ever had!! Egg & meat portions could be a bit bigger but overall I was absolutely satisfied leaving and thats rare.i will go there regularly now.
