I was looking forward to patronizing a local small business, but after waiting an extended period of time I left. He never acknowledged me at any time. Whats interesting is that there was just one other customer that he chatted with non stop. The sales person who I believe was the owner never once said I will be with you shortly . The level of customer service is definitely lacking and I wont return nor would I recommended it to anyone looking for cycle repair services.

I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for repairs for their bike. We had visited family in NC bringing with us our grandchildren from another state. Unfortunately, the first night there, my grandson took a hard spill on his bike and broke the right hand brake. I called Mojo Cycles to see if they had the part to fix it and they did. When I got there I was greeted by staff immediately. The repair people were working on two other bikes so waited maybe 10 minutes for them take a look at it. Hoping the repair could be fixed by at least the next day, he said he could fix it in about 10 minutes. I was shocked that he would do it right away (not used to that quick customer service). He did and I was charged a very reasonable price for the repair. He noticed something else on the bike that was not exactly the correct part. He did not try to upsell anything - was just making me aware to keep an eye on it. I was so grateful for the quick repair. Thank you Mojo Cycles.

Great place to get a bike fixed and to buy a bike! Jim is very knowledgeable and very friendly and very caring!Back in October of 2019 I went there for the first time and took me cheap Ozone 500 I got from Sports Academy that had half of the spokes missing. At that time Matt helped me and Jim ordered a new wheel for me. They got it fixed and only charged me about $70 for the wheel and the labor! Matt suggested that I get a better bike as I got about a thousand miles on this cheap bike.Fast forward to December of 2019 and I saved up $768 for a new bike. Jim pulled his last Cannondale Treadwell 2 from the back and thought it would be perfect for me. The price was $750 meaning I couldn’t afford the sales tax, but Jim graciously took $50 off so I had $3 left to my name! Now I have a bike that I can ride to work since I don’t have a car.Over the next few months I kept going back to Mojo Cycles to upgrade parts of my bike, Jim helped me pick out new parts online and he took the time to teach me how to install the parts myself! In February of 2020 I got ran over by a car while riding on the crosswalk. It was about 5pm when it happened so I went to Mojo Cycles because I was only 2 miles away and Jim stayed after hours to fix my bike so I can keep on riding it to work!Ever since then I come back frequently to take care of the bike. Jim takes the time to teach me how to tune up and replace some parts! He even points out potential problems and things I have to keep an eye on! He has even helped me prepare for my upcoming 130 mile biking trip to Boone in March of 2021. So far I got 5,000 miles on that Cannondale bike and it has only broke down once.I totally recommend Mojo Cycles over any other bike shop in the area!

The last time I needed to get my bike fixed I called a number of shops, and most of them were backed up for weeks and super expensive. I needed something a little more complicated done, so I couldn’t just bring my bike to the guy I usually go to for tune-ups. Mojo Cycles was able to get me in and have my bike repaired in less than 24 hours. The price was fair, and the turnaround time was excellent. My issue was with the attitude of one of the staff members. I asked that they not leave my expensive bike out in the parking lot, which is visible from a busy street, and offered to give them the code to my lock if they didn’t have space or time to bring it inside. The guy said “We’ll bring it inside, no worries” so I waited in the parking lot for 5 minutes, but he never brought it in. So I went back inside and had the same conversation again. This time he scoffed at me and told me that this is Mayberry over here, and bike thefts just don’t happen at the store, and if they did then the cops would be there in a second. . . If that’s true, then the store has gotten pretty lucky for the past 20 years he says they’ve been open. He agreed to buy me a new bike if anything happened, and thankfully nothing did. However, this is still bothering me weeks later. For one thing, you just don’t treat customers like they’re stupid enough to trust you and give you their money. And for another, the CATS bus stop is literally one building away on the corner of a busy street that connects Charlotte to Matthews, etc. Even if crime in Matthews is on the lower end, there are still tons of people easily commuting from other places. And the cops here are not in a rush to save the world. The last time I was in downtown Matthews with my child, we saw a man with his pants around his knees, and it took the cops 15 minutes to arrive. Ignorance is bliss, Mr. Bike Shop Repair Man, but Charlotte and Matthews certainly have crime just like any other city, and as someone who has had their cars broken into and stolen in other cities, I don’t feel good about leaving my bike in the hands of a man who has his head buried so far into the sand that he can’t do a simple task like securing a customer’s bike, even if just to make the customer feel better.

Just had the best experience ever at MOJO cycling. Let me explain. I have a 7 year old that has a slight disability on her left side that creates a weakness and makes it difficult to pedal her little bike. You know the the bikes that have tassels hanging from handlebars and training wheels with that beautiful pink accent paint. I walked in and had the opportunity to speak with Henry. I asked him if we be kind enough to step outside and take a look . After I explained the situation he took the little bike in and placed it up on the rack to see what he could do. The owner Jim also chipped in and before you knew it a strap was placed on the left pedal, back tube replaced, chain oiled . Henry brought the bike out for my grand daughter to test drive . Immediately he noticed the strap had to be adjusted along with the training wheels . The smile on my grand daughters face was from ear to ear. I cant begin to tell you how impressed I was and fortunate to meet Henry and Jim. They were both very busy but treated myself and grand daughter as if we had a very expensive bike to be serviced. Just an incredible experience. If you need work on a bike, putting one together, tune up, or purchasing you will not find a better place . On the way out the door Henry said have a blessed day. We did Henry and just to let you know she has been riding for two hours still smiling from ear to ear. Thank you from the bottom of my heart . I am sure she will remember your kindness for the rest of her life.

My experience was positive, I would buy from Mojo again, and I recommend Mojo if you are looking for a quality bike at either end of the cost spectrum. Matt and Jimmy were both friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the old school bike shop atmosphere and a large dose of old school customer service. I shopped around at a few great bike stores, but ended but buying from a great bike shop. Shop at Mojo!

Poor customer service. I was investigating this shop to service my bike. As always, I test the waters by emailing or calling the shop with a question, in this case, what a tune up for my Specialized Crosstrail bike would cost. They did not have the courtesy to respond to my inquiry, hence, leaving me to conjecture what their customer service would be like. Time to move on to another bike shop.

I bought a used bike from Craigslist from an elderly man who hasnt ridden it in years and took it straight to Mojos as the gears didnt shift smoothly and other maintenance needed done. They were thorough, quick and treated me with respect as if I had bought it there. The bike works great, Im very pleased with the work. Highly recommend them to anyone, any bicycle, new or old, expensive or not. They do a great job.
