There was a mix up on a chair we ordered from Big Lots Matthews Store. I can’t tell you how awesome the manager Bill treated us! He kindly took our information and said he would be in contact with us as soon as he knew the chair was coming into the store. Well, we have had other experiences with stores where they say one thing and you never hear from them again. Bill called multiple times to keep us updated. Last call he said chair was coming in and he was putting our name on it if we still wanted it. I can’t tell you how refreshing it is that there is a store manager that is good to his word and follows through to make his customers happy! This store now has my repeat business for as long as I live in this area. Also, this store is always clean and well organized when I visit. Store was neat and organized. Some empty shelves but they are changing for the new season so this is understandable. Employees very nice. My only complaint is the restroom are not clean. Think they should put more attention towards this. The dust thick enough people were writing in it.

Really cool Halloween stuff compared to some shops across the street, just such a small selection.And for a non-seasonal review, its good, it is one of the shops I visit about once a month to just look around. Decent. Good for home goods. Imagine a big, better quality family dollar.

Love the new layout of this store. Many items were nice and organized. They are beginning to put out some beautiful Christmas decorations.

James made my furniture purchase quite easy and I might add fun. I was able to use my discount on an already great priced item which made me very happy. Smooth process was done in whole.

Absolutely great! Havent been to the Matthews location since apparently new management came in. They have performed miracles. The prior store was dirty, disorganized, products on the floor and just mixed on the shelves. What a pleasant surprise. The store appears immaculate, organized and well stocked. Friendly sales associates. Recomend.

Its your average Big Lots. Nothing extra special about it. Customer service is usually good. Prices are decent. They have a decent food section not much in the clothing section but it is Big Lots. Its clean. Some of the aisles dont have much space for customers to get by with more than one on the same aisle but its manageable.

We looked at beds and dressers. The ones we were interested in they didnt have in stock in Matthews, but we got a bed in Concord Big Lots and were helped by Robert, who was an excellent salesman, and has been with the company for 20 years.

Worst customer service i have ever encountered! We asked an employee to bring a desk up to the front because it was VERY heavy. 20 minutes later we went to check out and the “employee” turns out to be a manager and he was just chilling out in the back and the desk was in the exact same place we left it. two very small girls had to drag the desk to checkout because no employees were to be seen. When we complained to Renae, who was the employee and checkout, she just proceeded to defend him saying he was a manager and just “forgot” but he was just sitting in the back. Will never go back again.

2 months ago, at the beginning of april, we purchased a dining room set and a sectional sofa set. We spent the entire day driving around to other stores to pick the items up. Each store charged us AGAIN for the same items. Thankfully my bank canceled the erroneous duplicate transactions.To add insult to injury, the dining room chairs came with multiple missing pieces, to the point at which we have had an empty table for 2 months.After countless calls, emails and patiently waiting for the promised pieces to be shipped to us so that we can finally use the furniture we purchased, I have been informed that our “issue is under review”Worst experience ever.

I have been trying the get a sectional set and a chair & a half for then past 4 months and they tell me they cant order it and have no idea when it will come in. to check every week. I think I am done checking now!! its hopeless!!

They dont stock enough merch. went to two stores neither of them had the recliner I wanted.

Nice store!!!! Helpful, friendly staff with a variety of household items. I was impressed with the cleanliness and the layout of this location. I dont think Ive ever been in a Big Lots that was this well organized, this clean, and with staff this friendly. The furniture selection was excellent. The manager of the store helped me and my uncle decide on a couch for him. this was a very different experience from what Im used to at Big lots. Thank you to the staff and I highly recommend this location.

Theyve revamped the store layout, lots more furniture. Neater and cleaner aisles.

This Big Lots is pretty huge, but they need to space out checkout counter from the endcap shelving. Nice selection of furniture too.

Look... Im a fan of BigLots but not this one. Ive never been greeted upon walking in. When Ive asked for help with an item Ive been left waiting for 15min+. When I call for help i have sat in hold for over 20min, been hung up on. When you do get help if they dont have the item they tell you another store but they will not call for you to check stock. So Ive been sent driving from store to store. Not going back. Go to the Monroe store, theyre great at customer service.

By far the best customer service I have ever experienced in 39 years of my life. Truly... There was an issue with an order but the manager, Bill, honestly went above and beyond not with just fixing the problem but with his honesty and empathy as well.. This store Is farther then 2 other big lots from where I live but I will only go here. Bill you have a customer for life.

This store is clean, organized with very friendly staff. I called the store looking for a much sought after toy and was fortunate enough to speak with Lena. Lena researched the item, located and held it for me. She greeted us with a smile and said she was more than happy to do it. When checking out we had questions about an item found in the clearance section and once again, Lena came through. She verified the price with the manager and because it was in the clearance section he approved the sale at a much larger discount. I will be shopping at the Mathews location going forward.

Nick was wonderful! Truly great customer service! My husband and I were impressed. I really like that store. It is laid out well. I will definitely be back there to shop.

Spacious and large store with broad selection. Some items are more expensive than other retailers, however there are several great deals.

Good furniture

Great store, clean, well laid out, although the corporate plan to turn all Big Lots stores in to furniture stores is a big disappointment. Big Lots has always been the place to get the unusual, the quirky things that you dont see anywhere else. Now that is going away, and they are becoming a furniture store, and honestly I never went there for that, I go less frequently now since I have to wade through furniture to get to the things I really want.

They argued with me about something I was overcharged for, but fixed the issue. They have definitely raised their prices.

This is my lot. Sometimes they dont have what I am lookong for, but they restock quickly. They dont waste time asking a million questions at the register and making a whole lot of small talk about everything. Get it and go and still nice about it.

They have great deals over all. The furniture department which they have moved front and center isnt great. The furniture its self is cheep quality and the guy who is supposed to help you with this department doesnt like to be bothered and is happy to let you know.

Stopped by today to check out some of Big Lots furniture. In particular I was shopping for a recliner and possibly a wing back chair. I didnt find any wing back chairs but they did have some nice recliners and sofas but none that hit my buy gotta have this one impulse.

Was very surprised by the new lay out. They even have some grocery items now. Lots of Christmas stuff and reasonably priced.

The Store manager today treats and Acts out of emotion also treats customers with a Attitude when dealing with Customers when Asking about there goods and/or damaged goods or Even Clearance items Etc. And I almost didnt get to Purchase an item I went in for I Seen Online after checking for Availability, the one other guy (total of three) after inquiring about something specific didnt even look Up The Item I was referring to After showing it to them in my phone before they told me they didnt Carry it anymore, Luckily the third employee that looked for it in the computer and after checking in the back Told me they Had them... but I then had to Ask if I could purchase it Myself because no One asked me Ever if I wanted to Buy it or not (huddling around where I was standing never really Moving and foot or hand to Check or make it look like they Tried to help Me)... idk maybe they didnt want to Make the Sell or not but I was Not treated With any Respect and the next person might let it happen to Them but Im tired of Employees and Managers treating people different because theyre not behind the counter themselves or might not look like they have any Buying Power but I felt Very disrespected after Leaving and someone should be Properly Trained Again when dealing with Diversity!!!!

The manager today was very rude. Usually I have a pleasant time in big lots .. I went to pick my table up that I brought on the 23rd but I brought the wrong receipt he tells me there is no way to look it up. I didnt pay with cash either.. I paid with there card. So he want to make it seem like Im trying to pick up an item I havent paid for.. so I say I can make payments but cant have my product he say YES ..After repeating several times I financed the item and he wouldnt listen. I ask for corporate. Now its what number did you use what day did you buy it and time. .Very Very unpleasant and Unprofessional experience today. Will be calling corporate today.

This is a run down looking store with low quality goods. Be careful what you buy as they have a firm 30 day return policy and won’t even return something that hasn’t been touched for store credit. Management was no help in attempting an exchange/return and doesn’t seem to understand good customer service. You can get as good or better quality of goods for anything you’re looking for there at a Walmart. Steer clear of this retailer, especially this location.

A wonderful time, excellant service, selections of products was absolutely amazing.

There was a good selection of totes to choose from. I am replacing the cardboard box storage of holiday items with see through totes. And they had the sizes I needed.

The best place to get snacks. They constantly change the snacks they have. A good variety as well. A cant miss shopping experience.

We shop here every few months when we are in the area. Prices are good like Wal-Mart. The reason for the 4 stars is because of the cleanliness or lack thereof. They do have good deals on furniture but we have only ever bought side tables several years ago.

The remodel looks fantastic. But its just not the same place to go find a bargain. They use to be stocked with odd and end close out items. But now its stuff I can find cheaper at Wal-Mart besides the furniture.

Good place to get inexpensive furniture, or some other home furnishings. Many of their other departments are practically non-existent anymore. Was looking for some tools, but that area has become very small now.

The employees of this store are very kind and helpful. It has recently been remodeled and looks pretty nice. There is a good selection of furniture. There are public restrooms.

Big lots is movin on up in the world they now have a huge selection of furniture and home decor. If you havent been to big lots in a while it is deffentaly worth the stroll. The one in Matthews behind Texas road house is very nice and the people who work there are just as friendly. Take a gander!!
