Incredible stuff. I cant believe I got a signed copy of Donald Westlakes Smoke here for only $20. A lot of other great stuff to find here too. Film books are great here. Paperbacks are awesome. You can get pretty much every Travis McGee here in their original paperback incarnation. I love Half Priced Books and this is one of their best locations.

Great ... Fun Store! They have everything youre looking for. The prices are a little high. They should have a better price range. But still a really great store to get lost in for a couple hours!

I visited this store today for the second time. While there is a nice selection, and the store is nicely set up, I felt that some of the prices were on the higher side for a used bookstore. The employees were kind, although we passed by 3 or 4 different people working on the floor and none of them said hello or offered assistance. The restroom was also filthy. There was trash all over the floor, and the toilet seat was unclean. An air freshener could have gone a long way toward making the restroom more pleasant as well.We did enjoy the clearance section very much. My 7 year old left happy, with a big stack of books. So I guess it was a successful outing.

Staff so nice and aisles big enough for my wheelchair. At one point I needed help with stuff on top shelf cause I couldnt reach and the staff over was so nice and got the book down for me. I needed up getting 3 hardcover books and only spent 9 bucks so affordable I love it here.

I had a good experience. I had a lot of books to bring in and the manager was really great. He brought all of them in and went through all of them. He was really nice and so was the girl behind the cash register. Thank you for being kind and efficient.

I love physical books, was able to get my daughters summer reading book for nearly nothing.Called ahead and was in and out in minutes.

Brought in some things to sell, HIGHWAY ROBBERY, the women always low ball items. Ugh, they got nice things in there though. Cashier was not friendly at all, I said hello he didnt respond, when he gave me my money, I said thank you, he didnt respond, just gave me my money and turned away. Hmmmm wonder why??

I could not ask for a worse experience yesterday. I walked into the store with my books and dvds in hand and the lady behind the counter barked at me If you have things to sell put them on the counter! I looked over at the area she was in, saw a counter that had books and other things and asked simply, for clarification, here? and she said, tapping on the area where she was standing: THE COUN-TER! as if speaking to someone limited in intelligence. From that point on, she was short, rude, and unpleasant to me.Perhaps she was having a bad day, but it happened I was with someone who had sold things there before and they commented she has always been this way. That is unacceptable. She acted as if it was an act of utter kindness that SHE should be attempting to find what my items cost and that I was taking her time and she made me feel like it. I will not return to this place. They gave me nothing for two books I purchased this year (both bestsellers and in pretty good shape) and that lady was so rude I dont feel like coming back there.Im sorry that this place is given such wonderful reviews. Maybe on days that lady isnt working but she was AWFUL and that isnt how you treat anyone, let alone a customer who buys things as well from her store.

Great book selection, prices are higher than they used to be but they won’t give you what your books are truly worth. But the people that work there the last 3 times I’ve gone over the past year and a half are rude and short. Their attitudes are a turn off to the Mayfield location. I wish the Mentor location was still open.

I went there for the first time and it was so exciting so many different things to see and look at and buy. VERY happy with the experience. Cashier was very pleasant also.I will go there again. I purchased a book there as well by... Brock Obama and a puzzle for Mr granddaughter 😊

Still my favorite place to go for books. Well organized by topic, wonderful staff. Always a good collection of comics and board games (including Euro and RPG), the Legos by-the-bag are usually a good price.Hand sanitizer by the door, gotta wear a mask. (Do we still have to say that at this point?)

The staff here have zero concept of social distancing. Not only were they in close proximity to eachother but one approached me and came well within 6. This disregard of health regulations is both dangerous and irresponsible. I left in disgust.

I really like the store. The employees I did not like very much. There was one girl there who was nice and she was working at the book counter. The cashier was the most unfriendly unprofessional not nice person I have ever had to deal with. According to the receipt she is cashier 0Bai050 Reg 1 7:49 pm 1-21-21. I hope her disrespectful attitude will be discussed at her review.

Classic half price books

Its a good bookstore, comics, games, magazines, puzzles they have lots of them. Its mostly used though some are new, so there is different content each time you visit.

They had everything I was looking for with the exception of one book and the prices were incredible. 6 more books are on order for me from other store locations. The people there were amazing and well.

I love this place. You can find great deals on books, comics, video games and music (from vinyl to CDs). Great pricing. They even have stuff to keep the kids busy with science kits and puzzles. Highly recommend stopping by.

Half price crooks.I took my books and magazines to them. Its called making it till your next paycheck. When they quoted $25. I said ill pass. Fast forward a week. I open my box. Every book I collected was stolen from the box by them. Books that took 20 years to put together. Stolen taken kept. How ever you call it their thieves.

Thank you to the snooty little girl who think its ok to embarrass my better half and I in front of the whole store and mock a disability. Your corporate was called and unfortunately the next step has to be taken. Stay far away from this establishment.

Lots to look at and consider. I bought to paperback mysteries for close to half price. Avoided the older ones with yellowish pages. Store seems well organized, and customers were wearing masks.

Beware of the Bait and Switch. I ordered the advertised 25th edition of a Machinists Handbook and Half Price Books sent me a 23rd Edition instead. When I Emailed them twice, nobody responded. They falsely advertise their books and send you what they want. Do be aware of their deceitful practices.

I feel dirty having gone in here.The business model is neither friendly towards the seller or the buyer, only the reseller.I thought about getting some cassettes, but I thought I might save a little money. So I scoured around my various books for ones I probably was never going to read, and could get at the library, and I even threw in a DVD I had accidentally gotten two copies of. Now despite all of that, many of these books were lightly used, good editions, and for all of that, I basically got six bucks. I wouldnt complain except that after browsing around the store, I estimate they would make two to three hundred on mine, because for what they pay in used stock, they charge half the price on the cover, but pay the seller around ten cents per book.You could hand them a first-edition Gutenberg bible and they would charge the price its worth, but give you two bucks for it at best.I had wondered about their staffing, after a friend of mine never heard back from them re a job, and I think I figured it out. The only staff that has stayed on over some years consist of a balding white man, an older black woman, her son or nephew, and about a half-dozen women in pixie/buzz cuts (or persons otherwise assigned female at birth with similar appearance).Now, maybe the latter group are all friends who have managed to take over the staffing, but it just seemed odd. Im sure it looks good to the labor department, because thats a very rudimentary diversity, but mostly employing white women at your bookstore is still discriminatory.There is a core group among Cleveland area businesses who think white women are ideal customer service people: the younger, the better. Its not true. So their hiring perpetuates certain stereotypes.Anyway, when I brought up how they were ripping me off, the woman with the buzzcut and the tattoos at the register said they were struggling at the moment. Folks, they had plenty of brand-new books, novelties, and games stacked all around the store, but were pleading poverty with me.None of the books I basically gave away for a pittance had any real sentimental value to me, so I feel no great loss, but at the same time I feel used, like degraded, then given a few bucks for my trouble.At best, you might go here if you want some slightly cheaper copies of media, but a lot of their stock is brand new, so I have no idea what is done.If you are looking to sell, save your time and energy and just donate the books to a prison library. At least then it might do some good to someone doing hard time: lifting their spirits and enlightening their minds. Apparently HPB used to have a better business model thirty years ago, but now it is just an outdated business model competing with the internet that employs too many interchangeable employees based on shallow preferences & cronyism.Theyll still make money hand over fist, but plead poverty when they are buying up your books and smiling at you.I think the only advantages this place has is that it is not abusing the workers like nozama does and you can have the book in your hands that day without shipping & boxes to bother with, and (somtimes) you pay less than what theyll charge you online. And its less fuss to get rid of old books you dont want. But dont expect anything superlative for your trouble.

Great place to find books at a discount. Even better you are able to sell your books to them. They have records, games, magazines, cards and etc. It is well organized. I love shopping here, love their prices and selection... but I no longer bring my books to sell. They simply dont pay squat for them. I itemize my tax deductions, so I donate my books to the thrift store and document this carefully. I always get more back on my taxes than I would have gotten at Half Slice. Still, a great place. Bonus, they have (nice clean) restrooms for customers, which a lot of secondhand stores dont.

This place is great. They have TONS of books from new to old and the prices cant be beat. They have a section for just about anything you could think of. I could spend a day in her just looking at all the interesting books, some you wont find at bookstores just because they are no longer in print or arent very popular.

Great place to wander surrounded by books and other media too... if you are easily tempted, you might want to try not to visit TOO often, because (believe me!!!) ITS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO LEAVE EMPTY HANDED!! They also have very nice folks working there...

The perfect place for the avid reader without having to buy books at full price. They have books for anything that youre looking for. I can find books for myself and my one year old for under 20 bucks. It doesnt get much better than that!

Absolutely awesome deals on books. Love the browsing atmosphere as well. They also have vinyls. Chairs are randomly placed throughout the store to sit and read. Love it and wished I lived closer to go more often.

I love the staff and store. The selection is very good and they usually have what I need and always something new to explore. HPB always has the nicest employees, but this crew is especially helpful.

Great second hand bookstore with nice prices. They always have fairly large inventory for just about every interest. They also have a nice selection of games (board, electronic, and computer) and music.

My daughter had several piles of books she wanted to sell, we took in 2boxes & 1bag. My expectations were low. My daughter keeps her books in pristine condition and she had a lot of newer stuff, 1 video game, some hardbacks, some sets, all together, probably 60-70 books and she recd $86. Thats more than a yard sale would have produced, so we are pleased.
