They sent a Materials driver at 9:18 a.m. to deliver materials to a gated community in Coram. The driver insulted me thinks he had the last laugh. Let me tell you something. These drivers represent Florence Building Materials And THEIR COMPANY. It seems that their drivers are not well educated and will talk down to anyone who will deliver to them.

They have it all to build a house, treehouse, garage, camp... Whatever the project may be, they have it all!

Actually this place is great. Called them up after having many problems with another local lumber yard, was told to get a price he would need to call the supplier. Called me back 5 minutes later, gave me the price, wrote up the sale, I stopped in to make payment (took about 5 minutes max) and everything was delivered very promptly. Everyone including the driver was extremely nice and price was very fair. What more can you ask for? I recommended these people to two people already and certainly found my new lumber yard and will continue passing along their info to those that need their products. Most reviews are complainers who are the ones who are at fault. Rarely good experiences write reviews. Oh by the way, the manufacturer is the one who recommended these people when I called them after having so many problems dealing with another lumber yard, the manufacturer said try Florence, I think you will like them. Guess what, he was right.

No stars. Went for advice on sliding doors. You know its not a good sign when you stand there and no one will make eye contact. They were annoyed because I didnt know exactly what I wanted, but the whole reason I went there was to get options and advice. If they were trying to intimidate me, it worked. Ill be purchasing elsewhere. UDATE: I emailed the owner, as requested, and never got a response. Looks like his concern was all for show. Not surprised, considering how the employees treat people.

Second time using them. First time I ordered stainless steel door jambs. The hinge locations were wrong. Second time I ordered a pre hung door, custom size. They lost it. I’ll probably lose that customer. I will also lose Florence Lumber’s phone number.
