I am really particular when it comes to my clothes, and Sara did a great job really listening to my needs and pulling a whole rack of clothes to try on. Some things were a bit of a stretch style-wise (which is good, I dont want everything just the same as I always buy), others were totally in my wheelhouse. Not everything fit perfectly, but plenty did. I left with a huge bag of clothes and shoes, with plans for entire outfits, for an incredibly reasonable price! And best of all, I have a better idea why certain things work well together to help me up my style with other things I already own. Ill definitely be back.
The shop was clean, organized, temperature check at entry and knew how to space out clients in the store. I love how well planned this swapping time was!
So much fun! Had a style session and went with a friend. We are very different in clothing preferences, but somehow Sara customized the best outfits for each of us in terms of both fit and style. Highly recommend this, especially if you have clothing in your closet you can swap out and/or need a professional set of eyes to help you re-style.
I love up-cycled clothing and was excited to learn about SwapIt, which takes the model a step further by offering personal styling. These women are magicians! I have been wearing yoga pants and t-shirts and boxy sweaters for years out of decision fatigue but now I have fun outfits that suit my (robust) personality.
The store is very cautious with reopening and has all protection measures in place, plus an awesome selection of ever changing clothes to choose from!
SwapIt is my favorite business in greater Boston! And Ive lived in Boston for 18 years. Stefanie and Sara have created the ultimate win-win-win situation: theyve made personal styling and gorgeous clothing accessible to EVERYONE. When I go there, I feel like a rock star even though Im not on a rock star budget. If you are a woman, and you wear clothing, and you live anywhere near Boston, make an appointment and head to SwapIt!
The first time I went to swap it for was for one of their clearing out sales. I got four items for five dollars. I love thrift shopping and getting a good deal. I joined their email list and found out about a virtual styling webinar. Through the webinar I learned a few concepts and joined style by text and Facebook with three additional webinars. I learned so much about styling and what works for my body and personal preferences without ever leaving my house. I attended one of their virtual dress sales and my dresses were mailed to me. The shop just re-opened to members. I bought a three month membership and I’ve already swapped for items in the first few weeks. When I went in yesterday For my appointment to drop off my swaps and pick a couple dresses up I felt safe. The owner took my temperature and I was able to drop off and pick up within five minutes of arrival. I am planning to book the store for one hour so I can shop alone without being worried about getting too close to other customers. I highly recommend joining swap it to anyone who is looking to feel more put together. I would say that if you are not comfortable wearing used clothes the swapping membership might not be for you, but you can still hire the stylists to make your own wardrobe work for you.
Sara and Stephanie were fantastic. I was very impressed with the variety of clothes in the store. I ended up buying both pieces from the very first outfil Sara suggested to me. She did a great job listening to what I needed and adapting to my style. She also managed to pick out tons of clothes that actually fit me. I would highly recommend SwapIt!
So fun, learned so much! Great people and really great clothing. Can’t wait to go back. This is a must do if you wear clothes 😉
Sara and Stephanie are great at what they do! Ive had 3 style sessions with them so far. I always get compliments on the ensembles Sara has helped me put together, not only with the new clothes Ive acquired but also with items Ive had in my closet for a while. With her expertise, Im better at buying clothes that are right for me.
I had the pleasure of meeting with Sarah yesterday and really loved my Swap It experience! Im not someone who pays too much attention to my wardrobe, and I dont worry much about getting dressed in the morning, but I will occasionally see myself in the mirror or a picture and think, that outfit doesnt work or those pants dont actually fit right. So I heard about Swap It and signed up at a Moms Night Out event, and Im so glad I made the appointment. Sarah was really nice and approachable. She prepared a lot of outfits for me, with my clothes and new clothes, answered all my dumb questions, and I left feeling like I have a much better sense of things that look good and also why. I also have tips on how to make every outfit look more or less polished depending on the situation I find myself in. And I feel like I can do it on my own now. I feel confident. I left ill-fitting clothes there and left with new options. And it was really affordable. I highly recommend it.
I had a fantastic experience at SwapIt recently! Loved the pre-session questionnaire and the session itself. Sara did an amazing job of pre-selecting outfits for me, and I left with beautiful clothes and a lot of inspiration! Definitely recommend!
I had the best time meeting with the SwapIt team and finding new upcycled styles to try on. Love this place and am looking forward to going back very soon.
I used to enjoy shopping but since having kids I just dont have the time or the patience and shopping feels like a drag. The problem became that I hadnt shopped in so long that I was becoming bored with my clothes. I signed up for a session at SwapIt, mostly to support a local mom business, but ended up having a great time and getting enough new (to me) pieces to liven up my wardrobe. Sara was great about showing my multiple ways to wear things, and encouraged me to expand my work attire. She got me to try on a dress that I never would have considered before and I ended up wearing it to my high school reunion and felt great. Thanks SwapIt!!!!
My friends and I had a very nice get-together yesterday, and we had a fabulous time! We tried things on, we loved things, we laughed at things, it was a great way to catch up and do something other than eat and drink (though we did that too) The Swapit ladies gave us freedom to roam and make a huge mess in their store, constructively giving feedback and advices on the garments we would try on. Each one of us had a few things picked out for us, but given that the items were put together without knowing what we looked like or what our styles were, by far not everything was a hit. But it didnt matter as much, as we were able to go around an pick things we may like and walk away with at least 5 good items. The idea is great, and in spirit of recycling and sustainability, this is a great service.HOWever. The reason I have 4 stars and not 5 (debated on 3 stars) is it later really bothered me how in the introduction to the event, the hostess totally threw under the bus her colleagues in fashion in wardrobe magazines and clothing designers, who are just trying to sell you stuff. Okay. Being a clothing designer, who owns a boutique just down the street from SwapIt, I have to disagree. I think its fair to say that it is not only me, but other clothing designers who try the hardest to make garments and accessories that people can like and see themselves wearing it with confidence. Yes, there are trends, and there good amount of targeting peoples insecurities to sell, rather than instilling confidence, but knowing lots of professionals in my field, there are by far much more people who try to express themselves thru their creations and connect with people that way.And lets be honest, we are ALL in the business of selling stuff - clothing, services, your expertise, etc. And not all of us are vicious clothing designers who are just there to sell, and not serve. Since you dont know who is in your audience, dont put down others to bring yourself up.
