In November, 2018 I had an offer of $17,000 from Harbor City Auto sales for my 2017 Ford Escape. I went to Auto Buy based on their ad that we pay the max. I was offered $16,000. When I disclosed the offer I received elsewhere they took a few more minutes and then declined to match it. So my experience was that I sold to a local dealer who paid more. I posted my experience previously and the owner replied, implying that Im a liar or that I was friends with the owner at Harbor City, which is not true. Im a known local attorney and I value my reputation. Not only did they not pay the max but then they attempted to disparage my personal and professional reputation. Life is too short for me to do business with such people, and if they post a reply to this truthful review I will take the necessary action to protect my reputation, because disparaging someones reputation is illegal.

This company buys it from you so they can sell it for a profit to a dealership who then needs to sell it again for a profit. If I would’ve known this, I wouldn’t even have wasted my drive or half hour inside this establishment. I figured since I was already there I’d entertain it to share my experience. I was offered exactly half of what private sale value is for my vehicle. If that sounds good to you, then I guess you’re the one who’s giving these five star ratings and you also must not like or need money.
