I have been coming here for over a decade. I was born with my SN hearing loss and had an audiologist I was with for 18 years before having to switch when he retired. Tara has been the most amazing, empathetic and hard working audiologist I’ve ever known. I am a difficult case as I have a very hard time adjusting to new hearing aids and every time i find something that works it’s gets “retired”. She has always gone above and beyond for me even when I was feeling hopeless. She has never stopped and it a very comforting to know she really cares. She has seen me through my college years, grad school, becoming a PA, the covid struggles and everything in between. I now pay out of pocket since my insurance doesn’t cover services but I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you Tara for keeping me going and never giving up! You are amazing at what you do. The office staff is also very sweet and kind. I’m so grateful for that. 13/10 recommend this location.

I have used hearing aids for years. Tracey is the first Audiologist to program my hearing aids properly. I could not believe that I was loaned a pair while mine went in for warranty repair. (I did not get my current aids from IBH) My repaired Aids came back and were programed so I just had to pick them. Give them a try you will be treated well.

I have had hearing aids for almost 20 years and have used the same audiologist ever since. I recently switched to Island Better Hearing as is close to work and much closer to my house than my previous audiologist. I wish I had switched sooner. Everyone is very nice and professional here. I was seen promptly and even though I am not in the market for new hearing aids they took great care of me and even lent me a hearing aid while one was sent out for repair. I dealt with Dr Tracy and she was wonderful. They even were able to send my chart immediately to an ENT so that they would be ready for me at that appointment. If you need an audiologist in the Huntington area Island Better Hearing will take great care of you.

This highly professional office staff is absolutely as good as it gets. I am a person who over researches all the health services I use. And in this case, it certainly paid off. I have received phenomenal auditory testing and frequent adjustments as the hearing aids I purchased are excellent and I have had constantly improved hearing skills since I got them. Doctor Lori is a remarkable practitioner. She has amazing communication skills, tremendous warmth and all it takes to see her when I have a problem is a simple phone call and a willingness to get right over to the office. I feel that we are in a partnership regarding my hearing health.

Im new to hearing aids. I see Dr. Tara at Island Better Hearing and she is the best. She did some very comprehensive testing prior to her bringing in several different hearing aids for me to try.After helping me decide which product worked best for me, again through best practices, she was able to get me a respectable discount. All through the process she has been wonderful following up to make sure we made the right choice. During this whole process the manufacture of my hearing aids came out with a newer model, which Dr. Tara was able to upgrade for me at no additional charge.The office is clean and very well regimented in making appointments. No waiting in the office with other patients. They not only use best practices in fitting you with hearing aids, but also complying with best practices with Covid19.

Lori and her team are the best audiologists I have ever worked with. I have serious noise damage from military service and have worn hearing aids for over thirty years. Lori is the most competent and caring audiologist Ive had in all those years. I moved away too far to still ask for their help. I have been going to Island Better Hearing since Lori’s father, Bob Trentacoste, started the business back in the early 70s. They are dedicated professionals who take the time to make sure that the hearing aid you wind up with is the right one for you.Although profoundly hard of hearing, I have been able to pursue a lifelong love of music, and I’ve played in a number of bands. I am convinced that this would not have been possible had I not had Long Island Better Hearing providing me with the best hearing aids for my type of hearing loss and their understanding of my needs. Each time I get a new model, Tara takes the time to fine tune the frequency responses so that I can hear as much of the musical spectrum as I can. I’ve even brought synthesizers into the office so I can hear specific presets and sounds through a new aid. They’ve even gone out to the parking lot to adjust my hearing aid as my car’s security alarm goes off so I can hear it.How good are they? If I ever move to another state, I will come back once a year for them and my motorcycle mechanic!

I cant give enough praise to Dr Lori and her staff! I got my hearing aids from her several years ago and she was wonderful addressing all my needs and concerns. Got my original aids 6 yrs ago. Service by Lori and her crew was always easy and effective. I moved to Florida but still go back to review my hearing loss. She adjusts my phonak aids to make my hearing transparent as possible. I have a lot of options on FLA but choose to keep IBH my choice

We love this place! I have been seeing Dr. Lori since I was a little girl and now that I have three little ones who benefit from hearing aids, I take them to see her as well. Dr. Lori and her staff are highly knowledgeable and professional and go above and beyond in the quality of their service. Many other places do not take the time to build a relationship with their clients or to assertively research and recommend the best options for them but Island Better Hearing does. We travel 45-60 minutes for every appointment but it is beyond worth it. Highly recommend!

As a physician for 49 years, I thought that I knew the right place to go for any medical issue.So I want to a large ENT group where the physician I knew for many years took great care of me.He recommended the audiology Dept in his office where I was given an audio gram and fitted for the new Phonak marvels.Fitted, programmed and sent home with the promise that new firmware updates would arrive shortly and programming could be done while I was home and the audiologist was in her office.They kept falling out and was told, couldn’t get programming at home since “no wi fi in office!Yet I used wi fi in the waiting room.They refused to take me to waiting room!They still kept falling out!I tried them for a month, no change, went back and was told I could tape the Phonak to behind my ears and still no wi fi.Asked to see a supervisor, was taken to waiting room and update complete after lots of haste!Close friend of mine had the Phonak from Island Better hearing, Dr.Tracey.Got an appt and all in the office were incredible, and Dr Tracey was incredible!!!Changed the wires and ear buds and”perfect fit!!!”She reprogrammed the Phonak s and now can get adjustments at home via wi fi.Their office is not this “ architectural digest” office like the the previous office, it’s in a small mall, you would never expect such professional work from such a small office!!I highly recommend Island Better Hearing as the only place for your hearing pathology!And this is coming from a physician still practicing after 40 years.This is the only place to go!!Dr. Tracey is a brilliant professional, a real asset to the medical profession!!Even if you are already fitted with hearing aids, go there for a second opinion!!

After several failed attempts with surgery when I was younger to restore my hearing, it was decided a hearing aid was the way to go, until if ever I chose to try the surgery route again. Fast forward 10 years, I find myself in Long Island, away from my home state of California, taking care of my uncle who, among other hardships, is also hearing impaired, but in both ears. Through necessity and various means, we found ourselves at Island Better Hearing. The first thing I noticed was just how nice the office is. I wasnt uncomfortable at all, and enjoyed the casual splash that it promotes, and the staff was very nice and helpful. The person my uncle was paired with was Dr. Tracey Lynch. From my own observations, I was impressed with how she handled the situation with my uncle, who is also blind. She was extremely accommodating for him, and was very much a pleasure to speak too. It was at that point I decided if I was to get established with an audiologist to get a hearing aid, it would be here, and with her.Fast forward some more! We received a letter in the mail from IBH that they were having a special event to help people get set up and established with hearing aids. I decided that was my calling! So I naturally made an appointment to see Tracy. I have to emphasize how nice my experience was. I didnt like going through this stuff at previous places in the past, but at IBH, it was a far cry from those days. As expected, Tracey was accommodating and made the appointment a breeze. She was informative with helping me learn the ins and outs of my new hearing aid, and as such I was quickly able to get a understanding about my new device. She also gets back to you fairly quickly over email, which is a plus if the situation calls for it. I havent had the chance to meet all of the staff there, but I have no doubt theyre all awesome people. If youre on Long Island, and even more so in the mid-island area, this is the place to go!

I have been going here for many years and love them! Everyone in the office is respectful and helpful. I feel like a second family every time I walk into their office. I highly recommend this place!

Getting my hearing aids here, and the staff was fantastic. Pleasant attitudes, professional, and caring. Definitely will tell my friends about this place if they need hearing help.

Lori was the ultimate professional in Audiology. I had problems with a fitting from another audiologist and went to IBH and now I hear EVERYTHING! It was amazing. She explains your hearing difficulties in easy to understand terminology and she makes me feel like Im her only patient!!! News Flash - If you live on Long Island, dont go anywhere else. Make the trip to IBH, you wont be disappointed!!!

LORI HAS BEEN MY MAIN AUDIOLOGIST AS WELL AS MY HUSBANDS AND SONS; SHE HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE SUPREME PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGABLE, CARING, WARM AND WILL GO TO ANY EXTREME TO BE OF HELP TO THOSE OF US IN NEED OF SPECIAL ATTENTION. Im new to the hearing aid game so dont have any other places to compare IBH to. I went on a friends recommendation and was glad I did. I have confidence in Lori and the customer service has been top notch.
