The store is very spacious and clean. Well organized and has lots to choose from. I love this location. Bradley the store manager has a great personality and greets every customer that comes through the door with a smile. Customer service is always great. Prices very reasonable and all merchandise like new.
I have 5 kids. Once Upon a Child was once a life saver to me. I frequented this place often, but usually in the morning when a very nice and professional young man is the manager, but here recently, i have been going in the afternoon since the husband has been working more morning shifts and can watch the kids more often in the afternoon. Anywho, Ive been meaning to write a review for over a week because something has really been on my mind. I go in several days ago around 6 pm and I just noticed the vibe was different in the store. It seemed much more chaotic and there werent even very many people inside! The manager, a young lady, had head phones in her ears and was in a heated argument with someone and stormed outside. I was used to being greeted pleasantly as i walked through the door. So Im shopping for my youngest and middle daughter, Ashley (4) and Taylor (7), and Taylor was in the car, but she came inside to tell me how some lady was using such bad language right in front of her. I checked out and on the way home my child said words that would make a grown man blush. Maam, you dont know who may be watching you and you really need to leave your personal problems at home because now my seven year old knows words that i was trying to protect her from and you just dont care. Maybe a childrens clothing store is not for you.
I have been going to sell and buy clothes mostly to the East Memphis location on Primacy Pkwy because is convenient. However, I rather drive more to go to another location. The manager in that particular store is absolutely rude and has an attitude depending on his mood or whether he likes or not what you are asking or saying. This man for sure has no idea what customer service is. I have seen him being rude to other customers, but this time it was to me. I called on 7/1/2021 to ask if they were already taking fall/winter clothes and a lady responded the phone responding “yes” and nothing else. As I got to the store with my bag and some coats in hangers the manager immediately said “we are no longer taking anything in bags. They have to be in cardboard or container boxes” which I replied “but I just called and I was not informed about this. Can you make a 1 time exception?” He responded with an attitude “as I said we are no longer taking items in boxes”. At that moment I am no longer a customer of that location, until the staff changes.To the owner, I recommend hiring polite employees that know how to treat customers. Specially the ones that have been customers for years. Without customers, your store will not be running. But with rude and poor management, your customers will not return.
Changing the drop offs to appointment only is so very inconvenient for faithful shoppers like myself. On top of that, nobody informed customers. We have provided our emails not only to spend our money but to be informed of important changes like this! I came on my lunch break thinking I would be able to walk in, drop off, and come back. But because of this new appointment drop offs, I won’t be able to come when I can which is normally on a whim. They have definitely lost me as a customer.
This was my first time at this location of the OUAC stores. Definitely will NOT recommend and won’t be back. I dropped off some clothes to sell today and automatically got attitude from an employee about how they only take one bin per day. This is not the policy at any of the other locations I’ve been to so I had no idea of this rule. Instead of assuming I knew about this rule and just didn’t care, she should’ve explained why I can only drop off one bin. When I went to sign in the items, I thought they were similar to the Cordova location that has a touch screen sign in. This was not the case which isn’t a problem, but she slid a sign in pad to me and told me to grab a pen. Every time she spoke to me was with hostility as if she a problem with me. I left and came back in about an hour like I was told to. She grabbed the bin of clothes they wanted to take and told me to look at the sheet to see what they would offer me. That really took me off guard because of how unprofessional and rude it was. I took my items and money and left. I got home later and realized they lost one shoe of a pair. I tried to call about it around 7:50pm but no one ever picked up. They close at 8:00pm so someone was there to answer the phone but didn’t want to. Not surprising though considering the lack of service in store.
Staff was friendly but not a mask in sight.I was desprate and.needed a pair if shoes at a affirodable price so i took my chances.If i end up with covid i know were it had to have come from.prices arw decent but sweating bullets while wearing 3 mask was very uncomfortable !!
Everyone is nice and helpful. You have an option to either buy clothes or sell clothes. I rather buy then sell. The clothes are most of the time reasonably priced.They do have nice brands like Gymboree and Carters for half the price. However they do have items that are obviously faded and over washed which makes the selling process even worse. When selling clothes probably only about 3 of your items will be picked and you wont get anything for them. Not even half of what they will sell it for. Its really not worth selling. You can bringing perfectly good brand name clothes and literally get a dollar each maybe. Its like a Plato Closet for kids. You do have the option to use the money you get from selling to buy now clothes.
One of the neatest OUAC stores I’ve ever went into! & the man that was the cashier I can’t remember this name was nice & informative!
Worst place ever! You have to pick up after 5 when ally be other locations get your stuff done right away they stop accepting stuff at 3 they don’t take buys on the weekends this place have too many rules! And they are rude ! They’d build really close this location down
When I shopped here. It was a wonderful experience. I found plenty of clothing. Some never worn. They were very inexpensive!!! I will be going back soon. This store have items for baby’s as well as bigger kids.
Supposed to be a huge clearance sale so we got here right at 10. The owner or whoever has the store key didn’t even show up until almost 10:30. No apologies or anything. Then I go through the entire section of 3-6 month clothes and found maybe 5 items on the “huge 90% off clearance” and they weren’t even 90% off they were just a dollar each. This store is a massive waste of time. 🤷🏼♀️
Poor customer service. I dropped off an extra large trash bag of old and new clothes, toys, brand new shoes, coats, etc. I dropped it off at 10:05 a.m. the young girl gave me dirty looks when I walked in so, I knew it was going to be something. Explain to me why, the girl called me 10 minutes later to tell me to pick my items up. She didnt even go through all my items. Its like she picked out about five items and offered me 17 dollars for 2 pair of shoes and 3 pair of jeans. Terrible. She had several bags there from the day before so I know she didnt go through all the items. I dropped off a regular sized bag the week before, different workers, I got a call back that evening and they gave me 40 dollars and everything in that bag was used. Thats how it goes. Or maybe even an hour would have been fine. But 10 minutes? Really? Find another job if you dont want to do right by the customer. It was an insulat to be honest. If I was a different color Im sure the situation would have been different. Overall the store is nice and prices are cheap. Just a couple of bad apples in the bunch.
Ive never experienced the negative things some of these say they experienced here! The staff is friendly. I understand that they are always busy but if I have a question, someone will answer.There hasnt been a time I ente4 this syore and wasnt greeted!
It is a good store to get clothing for children but what makes my rating for this store so bad is that the6 have an older white woman working there I do not know her name but she is constantly getting children in trouble and raising her voice at them for touching the toys . No kid is going to point at a toy and buy it without touching and seeing if they would enjoy it first especially not a used toy which most are broken and dont work anyway. She is an awful woman and people make complaints about her yet nothing happens. They should hire more customer/kid friendly people since it is a childrens store.
Well I was so interest to visit this store becauase I am so excited to shop for my newborn nephew. But after reading these customers reviews NO, NEVER?? I do understand that every person experience may be different, however just the way the owner responed to these customer complaints and Reviews futher let me know the level of appreciation and respect for those who have visited and/or spent their hardworking dollar at your business. I think this owner lacks compassion and professionalism. When ANY owner has to explain their actions or behavior to a customer lets me know she lacks Soft-Skills, which is a very important skill to display when running a business as well as working in an establishment that may require you to interact with children. Unacceptable!! I went there today for the first time. The staff were difficult to communicate with. The bathroom was dirty and not stocked with anything. Then during check out, the first thing the cashier did was tell me to sort out my clearance stuff. While I was giving her my things with my daughter with me, she tells me to help her by taking off all the hangers. Sure, not a problem, but I came here to shop, not do your job for you.On a positive note, I got a bouncer for a great deal and they gave me a military discount.
The worst customer service Ive ever seen. I went in as the opened and dropped off three small bags. They were openly talking about how they had to fire two of their employees that day. I was told it would take about three hours and they would call me when they were finished. I called six hours later and they still had not gone through my things. I called the next day and they gave some round about excuse as to why the clothes hadnt been looked at and how they wouldnt be able to give me any money for them until a month later because of some weird drama with the owner. The manager then got on the phone (very aggressive right from the start) and basically yelled at me for asking for my clothes back.
The workers are very nice very helpful especially the short black manger with the braids and the guy that works there also nothing but friendly, and willing to help you at any time I love that store for my grand kids and my son uniforms.
Very high prices, imo, for what they offer. Most of the clothes have been washed so many times they look really worn out. Why would I pay $5 for a worn out sleeper for a newborn when I can get a set of 2-3 brand new ones from Burlington or other stores (both online and physical) for $7? Not to mention on clearance you get get a lot of great brand new things for the same price as here. The $1 clothes they had (clearance) looked disgusting. I saw some yellowish spots in some of them. No, thank you!
Great selection of baby clothing, school aged children and other accessories for children. Would go again and recommend anyone to shop there.
Thumb down. Prices are too high.. I seen a 2t used skirt for 14.00 and sweater for 20.00... might as well go to the name brand store or caters for better quality

They are a great place to take your gently used items. I went to the one on malco blvd(desoto), terrible workers. one girl didn’t have good verbal skill( it sounds like she was auctioning off something). Then returned my item messy in the bag which by the way i had washed and folded. one of the workers was on the phone with a customer who was complaining about a charge on their debit card and all of the workers were surrounding the phone, no one was working at that point. NO STARS!!!!!
Horrible customer service, no one ever greets you when you walk in. The product is horrible as well, stained and unorganized. And it takes days to get your buy done. I used to find great items for my daughter here but lately every time I go I leave empty handed and frustrated.
This location doesnt seem to operate the same as the location in Cordova. They only take clothes on certain days. It seems they make up rules according to who is working.
Worst Place Ever ! And Worst Customers Service Ever.!! The Three Young Laddies That Work In There Have Bad attitudes. I Bought a Brand New Swing In there, A used Bouncer, and A Gentle Used Rock N Play. They Told Me It Would Take Ten Minutes To Give A Quote On The Things I Brought In Which Ten Minutes Turned Into an Hour. Then They Told Me It would Take a Day For A Quote On My Clothes. They Offered Me $16 For The Things I Bought In. And Like A Fool I Took It Because I Was Tired Of Waiting And Didn’t wanna Carry All That Stuff Back And Fourth. So The Next Day I Came Back For The Quote On My Clothes. They Took Out Three Outfits Outta The whole Bag And Offered Me $16.50. ! They Offerd Me 0.50 More Than The Brand New Equitment I Brought in. They Robbed Me !! The Same Day I Came Back For The Clothes. I wanted My Stuff Back And They Could Have They Funky $16. Well They Swore Up And Down They Had Sold it. Never again Will I Deal With Them. And Imma Try My Best To Get In Touch With Corporate.
