If you like nuts at all you need to go here. The inside is a little rough, unchanged in many years, but the owner more than makes up for it. He is truly a character and hilarious. He roasted some pecans for us to order, and they were amazing. Worth a visit, I plan on ordering some from the website now that I am back home.

I advise anybody and everybody to visit this place before it closes for good on Dec. 31, 2021 😫😪😤😢 The service is excellent! I got the dark chocolate cashews and picked up two more orders for family members! This place is for The Nut Lovers! However, you can get some freshly popped popcorn, a cool beverage and some candy as well.

Owner was so funny and nice and let me and my boyfriend try some fudge and drinks on the house since it was our first time there! Fudge was SO good and the drinks were STRONG but yummy! Will definitely be coming back

Awesome guy!!! And excellent peanuts for sale. I now have a preference in peanut type and variety.Truly an excellent guy. It was clear that he knows his regular customers by name and that he knows his stuff inside and out. He knows of different peanut shops around the country and their addresses. He also showed us how the peanut roaster worked!!

The owner was the most interesting and genuine person Ive met in a long time. He took us back to try this new honey spiced peanut mixture hes been trying. He talked to us and even our daughter like we were family. He even suggested a few places to site see and have lunch. What a wonderful, cozy shop full of interesting items and great looking treats.

I LOVE this store and Rida, the owner is awesome. Hes been there for a long time and I can see why. Hes so personable and helpful. The owner is fantastic! If you walk out of the shop in a bad mood, there is something wrong with you. He was wonderful with the children, and the adults. Great products as well. He is closing at the end of 2021, go visit while you still can. There is a great articel in the Desoto Magazine about the shoppe. This peanut shop holds fond memories of my childhood in the mid-60’s. Memorial Day weekend plans are to visit this wonderful shop with grandsons and let them shop the fine chocolates and pick up a big bag of peanuts so they may feed the squirrels in Court Square!! Can’t wait!!.

Walking down Historic Main Street in Memphis and happened across this peanut shop. It is a 5 generation shop with old fashioned equipment that is still working. Owner was very friendly and the products were very fresh and delicious. He had chocolate and other candy also. A must stop if in the area.

Speaking of service! I have never been in a business where I was waited on with so much attention and care! As if the service werent enough the product is fabulous! Everything there that I tried from cinnamon roasted pecans, Deluxe salted mixed nuts, spicy pecans, and their specialty caramel popcorn. Oh my on the caramel popcorn, best ever! They have a specialty of a blend of buttered popcorn, caramel popcorn, and cheddar popcorn. Who would think a blend like that would be so yummy oh, but it is! This is a must visit shop, especially for gifts, but for personal pleasure also.

Use to Go down town with my Mom we stop in the Peanut place and they still there that been 40 years ago and I got some Brazil nut today they was great.

This is an amazing place for nut lovers. They have many kinds of nuts and candies, including different types of peanuts. Also all the store is decorated with peanuts. There is a really big peanut man that you can take pictures inside the store. And a little one in the shop window.

The Peanut Shoppe on Main Street is one of the best places in Memphis. The variety is very good and the freshness is unbeatable. They provide better service than just about anywhere I have ever visited. The owner does an outstanding job of keeping his customers happy and providing a store that you really enjoy shopping. Went there on a cold and rainy February weekday. The clerk (maybe owner?) Saw me and my partner shivering and offered us a place near the radiator heater behind the counter. He mad non intrusive and welcome small talk while we thawed, and we cannot express our grattitude enough.Also? The pistachio pastry near the baklava is exactly as good as he said it would be with coffee, and the butter date cookie? Amazing with to go Egyptian root tea . Bet it would pair excellent with a anise or cinnamon based as well.And if the initial kindness and delicious recommendations werent enough to sell you, the man also knew all the best eateries nearby and most def told us the best choices for us with only vague explinations of our cravings. (A faux paus on our part, our fault.)Many thanks to him and his.

My dad had a barber shop in the old Union Planters Bank building in downtown Memphis by the post office in the 50s. Mom and I would go down and pick him up from work and we would walk main street and we would always stop and dad would get me some red skin peanuts. I remember a statue of the Planters Peanuts guy with top hat and cane. What a wonderful place.

This is my favorite place downtown to get snacks and converse with Nura and Rida. They are as wonderful as the product theyre selling. My favorite items to purchase are the yogurt covered pretzels and the toffee covered peanuts, yum!

An amazing store owned and operated by amazing people. Weve been coming for years for all of our nut needs. Go for a snack. Go to replenish your stock of shelled pistachios for making baklava or pesto. Go to ask Riddah advice on cooking. Go to buy a gift of fresh nuts for a friend or family member (they make excellent Christmas gifts). Go for whatever reason, just go.

This is an interesting little shop on Main St. that is well worth the stop. The fresh peanuts and butter popcorn are great. Buyer beware though, if you step out with fresh peanuts there are neighborhood squirrels that will stalk you for the rest of you walk. I guess they are big fans of the shop as well.

The owner is very friendly & nice. The shop itself is very tight/ small & the nuts are freshly roasted daily. They also have popcorn & several candies. They are not open on Sundays but stay open til 5p mon-sat.
