Let me first start off by saying that the G1001 is a beautiful cue! It is flawless with no dents, dings, imperfections with a super tight wrap. Here is my story:* I ordered from Manning Cue (authorized vendor) Dec 21, 2020 with some custom modification. I upgraded the shaft to the IPRO Original, the wrap from imprinted leather to Irish Wrap # 46 (black with brown specks), Kamui soft clear tip and added 1 engraving line.* Due to the custom order it takes 3-4 weeks for production, which I was fine with. It showed up on-time Jan 15, 2021.* When I opened the package I was very disappointed. The wrap was not upgraded and poorly wrapped as there were gaps at each end and the Kamui tip was not installed. I went to my friends house that night to play with the cue to make sure it functioned good and it did, very solid cue with little deflection. I disliked the IPRO Original shaft (WAY TOO THICK).* I contacted Manning Cue and he got with McDermott and was able to get me a return label, which I did return that next Monday. I was told it would take 2 weeks to complete once received. They were close on the estimated time (only a few days off).* I just received the upgraded cue today (Feb 20, 2021 - my birthday) and I am VERY HAPPY with the cue.McDermott turned down my shaft for free to the IPRO Slim and added all the upgrades I asked for in my original purchase. I would have given this a 5 star if it would have came in perfect the first time. McDermott needs some type of quality control before sending out a cue as waiting 2 months was very frustrating.

Long time McDermott cue owner but the lower levels. Finally decided to treat myself to a really nice one. I got the G708 but with the 2021 Defy 12.5 upgrade carbon fiber shaft. I expected it would take a while to get it after ordering but it came in about 2 1/2 weeks. Wow what a gorgeous cue....perfect workmanship and balance. I am a believer...I was wondering if the Defy would be worth the upgrade. It may be new cue excitement....but it sure seems to make a difference. It shoots like a dream....I can really finesse the shots. I can shoot hard or very soft and it never lets me down. I was please that it has a solid hit sound....not a hollow or metallic sound. No weird vibrations either.I am worried now though.....I wont be able to blame my cue for missed shots. Guess I will have step up my game to keep from embarrassing my new cue ;-)I just saw the new video showing how McDermott builds the cues. That was really neat and shows how much goes into each cue. I am a wood worker and metal worker with a well equipped home shop so can appreciate the expensive tools and skill used to make these cues.

THEY MAKE THE BEST POOL CUE IN THE INDUSTRY. THATS MY OPINION, I BOUGHT A CUE FROM OZONE BILLIARDS. ITS THE BEST STICK IVE EVER OWNED. THERES NO STICK ANY BETTER. THE QUALITY AND PERSONAL PRIDE THEY TAKE IS A MASTERFUL PIECE OF WORK THEY PUT INTO EACH STICK.

For all you guys who just have to squeeze the last drop of juice out of your lemon, please go to a dealer and haggle, and you will save something approaching 10%. But if you would prefer dealing with reeealy nice people who know the details and take pride in their product (remember people like that? You already know if youre a quality-experience person rather than a 10%-off person, dont you?), and can actually customize a given model, small things for free, big things at a fair up-charge (wood stain color? wrap color? no wrap? a joint to match the system you already own? Your dealer cant do that because he doesnt actually build it). Like most really nice people, you may find that they have limits if you try to push them around, so just dont do that . . . because these are MY quality-experience people, OK?

Was in town for a navy graduation and just got into league and decided to go in and check it out, Andy was so helpful and the cue is beautiful and my games are improving so much with my new found confidence, thank you so much for my beautiful cue, cant wait for my next cue, maybe a custom with the navy incorporated, anyways thanks again

I have been to all of the major pool cue manufacturers in Wisconsin. This is easily the nicest place to buy a cue. Not that Ive had a problem at the other cue manufacturers, McDermott is just the biggest. Always something new to look at.

I couldnt be happier with my McDermott cue!!! I bought my Purple Haze cue just over 10 years ago and it just recently had some warpage. I contacted them for Warranty Repair and Ive never experienced such an easy, quick and drama-free experience! Just WOW! Seriously, other companies could learn something from these guys. They take their product and their brand very seriously and its so obvious that they not only have a love of the game but they want to make sure that their customers are having the best experience possible when playing the game with their products. My cue made me a better player and after I sent it in for repair, I didnt win a single game till I got her back lol! This is the best cue Ive ever owned! Couple that with the best customer service experience Ive ever had and that equals a customer and a fan for life!!! I ordered the cue of the month for June from the McDermott website and I was so pumped. I decided to look online for a new cue bag to go with my new stick and discovered that ozone billiards and other authorized dealers are selling the same cue for which I paid $299 plus shipping for $254.00 and free shipping. After learning this I began to feel like I was taken. So I decided to call McDermott to see if there was something they would be able to do for me. I was told that yea our authorized dealers are less expensive then us, you dont go to chevy and expect to pay less than a chevy dealer for a car, and we are the same way so I can cancel your order and you can reorder through one of the dealers. But you will wait longer and we cant do anything for you but is there anything else I can help with. I am now so disappointed and feel like wow thats the rudest most unaccomdating customer service I have ever felt.The lack of appreciation and service they show for there customers is awful and if you like shooting with a McDermott cue like I do dont expect to save. Because as I was told they dont discount there cues and dont care if you buy one or not. So I didnt cancel my order because obviously I want my cue but just cant believe the dont care F**# you attitude I received.
