The team could have been newer, the manager diffused all and every questions that customers had, my husband had asked to other working associates and they just ignored him otherwise we thought this door was neat clean properly organized. You just need to get some really good help that knows the product as a little bit of personality smiles a little bit and answer the questions that customers ask to their best ability if they cant answer the question then they should call the manager over. Not terrible but I am in retail and I would never let my employees be disrespectful to just about everyone in the store. At 7:05 a couple locked up to the door I think to return something or exchange it and the employees just ignored the customers, sometimes you got to go above and beyond that extra 5 minutes to get that customers respect and thats all it would have taken maybe next time they wont come back.

Ocean State Job lots is an economic, almost general store style establishment.From seasonal stuff for home and yard, to housewares, lawn and garden, toys, and food...yes food... they have something for everybody. I noticed recently that harbor freight had worklites at one price, the nearly identical lights at Ocean State Job Lots were$5 cheaper. Real maple syrup? Under $20. Staff are generally in a good mood, which is a big deal for me- Im a bit ugly and old, and they were STILL nice about it (LMAO).Its worth the trip, IMHO. Always good deals...

Interesting store. With a wide variety of items. Clothes, food, reading glasses, belts, gloves... Many items that didnt sell elsewhere. Good prices, but you might not find your size. Good place to wonder from time to time.

I’d like to recommend Delfina R #325 from the Meriden, CT store for outstanding customer service on a busy, hectic day. She showed leadership skills in keeping the line moving with a smile, and showed great concern that I would be pleased with my purchase. Very, very fine employee and happy to take a moment for her.

A employee named jess was very rude and embarrassed me when i asked to use my ebt card im a hard working mom that works i am a single mom my ebt card wasn’t scanning and then on the cashiers screen it says put in manually i asked what numbers to put in and jess says i can not do that it embarrassed me and I won’t be going there again I already had a issue when I bought something and it didn’t work and I couldn’t return it

If you have to been to ocean state job lot before its just like the rest. A little disappointed that the pool shock was $5 more for a case than it was last year. When will this madness end?! Overall a good store with friendly staff.

What a nice store. My first time at the Meriden store. I went with my friend and she filled her cart with all her garden needs. The prices are great. I love the food section and found really nice products and some very healthy ones. Will be going back. Friendly staff!

I enjoy every time I go very organize merchandise I they prices to I visit almost every week.

Its gone downhill even more now. Too much junk everywhere so its difficult to shop with a carriage especially when the aisles are so tight that it can be a struggle getting your carriage past anothers. Just not impressed with the quality of products here, no real finds like it used to be. I considered this store to be a step down from The Christmas Tree Store but always managed to find something to buy but now, not so much. I wont go back to the Meriden store anymore, Ill give the Berlin store one more try before giving up completely.

I think that this Ocean State Job Lot in Meriden is good, prices are good, if it were up to my husband he would give it a five-star because he loves the crazy deals, but I do like their seasonings great prices on those better than any other store I would highly recommend getting your seasonings and your olive oil there oh, and one of the managers at Ocean State Job Lot I dont know her name but I believe shes awesome next time I go there I will get her name, shes very friendly and her customer service is top-notch

Well stocked. Kind of messy. They have staff stocking while customers shop. Only one cashier but she was very helpful and super sweet! I go for the coffee pods( at least 5-8 dollars cheaper than the grocery store)I never leave without a full bag of items that are very reasonable in price. Spices, olive oil, condiments they have it all

Love this place. They have the biggest selection of European candies Ive ever seen. They also have the best Christmas gift bags and trimmings. Better than anywhere Ive seen. Very good prices on 98% of their things. Sometimes its hit or miss but its worth taking a trip there every couple of weeks.

I would love to see more friendly faces. Its seems to me people are there to just be there. I have walked by staff members in there and they dont even say hello. Other than that I enjoy the selections of different items they have here.

Had to sit in the car while my mother went in. Im in a wheelchair and didnt have it with us so figured Id use the scooter like we do with other stores and they refused to let my mom bring it to the car to get me on it. Definitely not good for people who are handicapped.

I love Ocean State Job Lot because I hate dealing with coupons. I do however, love the Crazy Deals. Food, coats/hats/gloves, skin care, pots and pans...if you hunt, you can find high quality items in there for cheap!

This is a gem of a place to get name brand items and quality goods at a discount fair and reasonable price . Whole peppercorns in a grinder for 2$ try to get that at the supermarket. Olive oil and canned goods are a super bargain.

They have some great prices but I find a slim selection for advertised specials. Its like they get you in the door thinking your going to get what you came there for and there you are buying other items. They also carry some pretty cool food items at very reasonable prices. Limited staff available if any- long lines even though they have many checkouts. But I do like shopping at Ocean State.

Lines at every register to the middle of the store. Stores now charging 2% above the cost of the goods for an employee recognition program. I asked for an explanation and was just told its an added bonus for those that are working through covid19.

Please State Job Lot has loads of bargains on name brand products. I wont try to describe them all, but I will say hundreds of different products in many different categories. We picked up a beautiful area rug, actually a quality product, for $20. And food products - again, I wont try to list them all. Clothing. Etc. Etc. Once in a great while, something might not be up to your standards, but they will take it back if it was their fault.

Prices were somewhat reasonable I went there for some pool supplies and a gazebo. I was able to find the both here... gardening supplies were very low, not sure if this is always the case or if everyone is just buying gardening stuff due to covid19...

Ive always managed to find what I need as well as what I want at Ocean State Job Lot, without any problems or help from the staff. I get the things I need at a great price! Saving money and taking advantage of this stores 24/7/365 sales and deals is a treat -one that allows me to splurge and pamper myself... Because not only do I bring home everything I needed to get, theres always a few something or others I just Had to have!!! such as a package of cookies, or chocolate or almost anything edible - which necessitates the purchase of libations as well. Im being one hundred percent honest and truthful regarding my loyalty and my choice to shop at Ocean State Job Lot. Im a girl who doesnt like to shop - ever! However I love this place and its employees so much that I make sure to check it out 2-3/wk! Im there on a regular basis for any and all of my needs ... If I need food, or a friendly smile, or perhaps a candle and some flowers? The calming, whiff of lavender scented bubble bath and the coordinating lavender/vanilla bath and shower gel followed by the luxurious super moisturizing and fantastically scented lavender vanilla relaxing body cream ....Though Ocean State Job Lot had me hooked at samples and Freshly prepared free food 😂😳😍 It was so good to see so many people smiling and content... as one of if not the number one fan of this store, loyal customer extroardinare and expert of immediate gratification... which just means I know what feels good for the body, and I know what soothes the soul... Retail therapy and the good mojo derived from a bunch of people that have been nice and smile!! My advise for you is to immediately as well as consistently visit!

Nice visit, store had very few customers and they had everything I went for, namely Seattle Dark coffee pods, and on sale to boot.

Over all the was great nice and clean. No mess in any of the dept.s . My only complaint goes to all the stores they no longer carry clothes that fit large men or women. I used to know I could go there to purchase sweatshirts and t shirts in 3xl or larger

EXCELLENT! It may not look attractive or be perfectly shining clean but I gave it an excellent attractive because the prices and the quality and range of items are the only things which attract me. And I couldnt ask for more than Job Lot from a store. They have a whole bunch of quality organic products at cheap products. and clothing is actually nice. VERY UNDERRATED STORE---as far as I know. It would be best if they didnt change, only opened more locations in my opinion.

If you dont mind digging you will find what you are looking for. Some employees super helpful some not so much, but their prices are right and variety unique.

Totally love ocean State Job Lot. They have whats called Crazy Deals!!! I still dont know how they can do this. You buy the deal at the regular price and then you get a gift card for that amount to use the next day. And they dont expire.Plus they are for items that we would buy anyways. Check them out
