Nice place to get a casual meal and great shakes! Not a long wait after ordering. Ordered the finger steaks which I have never had before and they were surprisingly tender and very tasty. Also ordered a huckleberry and chocolate Boston shake.shake actually had berries in it.

I had lunch for the first time I had the double burger, fries and strawberry shake. Pretty good food. I ordered bacon in my burger but they forgot. They didnt charge me for the bacon I ordered so no loss there. I will definitely eat there again.

My daughter and I visit this place daily. The staff are all very friendly and have great customer service. The sweet tea is so very good! There ice cream cones are delicious and huge! Waffle frys are tasty! Cheese burgers are great and the toppings are all fresh as they should be at all establishments but they are not unfortunately. I recommend Fanci Freez over all other fast food places for sure. Very peaceful eating areas and bonus entertainment from the squirrels who have made this place their home.

Husband and I just finished having lunch here. We were craving an old school style burger place. I had the huckleberry burger with fries. The burger was good, but the amount of sweet huckleberry sauce kind of overpowered the savory taste of the burger. The fries were some of the best I’ve ever had! And their soda combinations are delicious. Overall I would definitely recommend this place and I want to come back for a shake!

Great little burger and ice cream stand! They make delicious shakes! They have a huge selection of flavors to choose from. Several sizes to choose from- we ordered medium and small sizes, and it was a lot of ice cream for the price! The service was fast and very friendly. Definitely worth stopping in!

Fanci Freeze is a legend in Boise and enjoys good business. They prepare the burgers quickly. I like the quirky items on the menu you dont often find at burger shacks. The ice cream is just glorified whipped up dairy mix, probably of a low quality. I prefer Hawkins up the street but they;re both good.

Honestly I prefer the Fanci Freez finger steaks to West Side. Fight me on it. They rock. And dope milk shakes. But I hate the prepackaged fry sauce it is bland. That is all.

I wouldn’t agree that Fanci Freeze whips up the “best” milkshakes in Idaho, but there is no denying that they aren’t delicious! For a very reasonable price as well. This so-called small was big enough for both my husband and I to share - plus tax it was only about $4.00!Today we tried a huckleberry milkshake. I wasn’t too fond of the huge chunks of frozen huckleberries, but the sips of without were yummy! Super thick and creamy, and reminded me of summers in McCall after going to Ice Cream Alley. I would definitely recommend Fanci Freeze to anyone looking for a wondeful sweet treat!

Ice cream lacked flavor, great selection of shake flavors (if only they made them stronger). Was told that I couldnt get peanut butter dip & nuts, but they could have suggested a sundae instead of a cone and increased the sale. Really nice outside seating areas & convenient drive-thru. I guess they deserve another chance.

I love this place but the service has gone downhill. Even during slow hours, they take forever to get your order out. I remember waiting nearly 2 hours for a shake and fries only to find out they forgot or lost my order. I want to like this place since I love their shakes but I just think the customer service could be a bit more cheery, too.

They are a bit spendy, but the quality of the food served makes up for it. Fanci Freeze is a preserved Boise institution. Its really great that we can still enjoy their shakes and burgers so many decades after their hay-day.

I got a cheeseburger and the seasoned waffle fries. The cheeseburger was okay, just a typical fast food burger. The fries, however, were SO GOOD!!! Ill have to come back to try the ice cream 🍦 and get those waffle fries again.Oh, and the girl who took my order and was at the window was SO NICE! Great service.

My fiance and I drive from Nampa once or twice a week to eat here. Fast,courteous,reasonable prices,and the best milkshakes on the planet. Worth the drive every time.

Went for the first time today. I called ahead and ordered a medium strawberry milkshake and bacon double cheeseburger with gluten-free bun. They said it would be ready when I got there. Not so.There was some confusion with their system, so that it took quite a while for them to be able to ring up the order. When I got home I found there was NO BACON on my bacon double cheeseburger. So, Fanci Freez cheated me out of a couple bucks.Also, there wasnt much sauce on my cheeseburger, so I had to add mayo to it. Overall, very disappointing. I wont be going back.

On 10/20/20, I went in to pick up my free small milkshake (16 oz.) I chose Chocolate. Jordan, who took my order and served me, did a great job. If I owned a business like Fanci Freez, he is exactly the kind of conscientious and customer service oriented young man that I would want to leave in charge. As for my milkshake, it was was everything I had hoped for and then some. It was the perfect blend of cold, thick, creamy, chocolatey but not overly sweet. In fact, I cant imagine a better chocolate milkshake. How good was that milkshake? Well, let me tell you...As someone who enjoys premium ice cream the way some enjoy fine wine, I rarely drink milkshakes. Aside from getting an occasional milkshake from College In & Out, when I attended Boise State University in the 80s, I have only has one other milkshake since and that was in August 2015. My rationale was that I could either have premium ice cream or milkshakes, due to the high caloric content. Fanci Freez has caused me to rethink that. After tasting their chocolate milkshake, I immediately began calculating how I could begin incorporating an occasional one into my life.I am so used to consuming premium ice cream that it never occurred to me a reasonably sized milkshake actually has fewer calories and less fat, while still providing a decent amount of protein and over half of my daily Calcium requirement. It is only 60 calories more calories more than my favorite Dutch Bros. drink, a Dutch Freeze, yet similar nutritionally, with the added benefit of having 5 times as much Calcium. When you look at it that way, its practically a health drink. Especially if you are mindful of using milkshakes as an occasional meal replacement, instead of something to go with your burger and fries, or as dessert. In fact, I would go so far as to say that an occasional milkshake used as a meal replacement is more nutritionally sound and budget- friendly than the average smoothie, such as the kind you find at places like Jamba Juice.I look forward to returning to Fanci Freeze to try some more milkshake flavors. High on my list are vanilla, banana, pineapple and eggnog.Fanci Freez does a great business but they should consider doing a time-limited flavor of the month. Not only would that give customers something new and exciting to look forward to, it would give Fanci Freeze an opportunity to add even more great milkshake flavors to their repertoire. If interested, I have some great ideas I would like to share with the owners re: one of a kind of flavors that are highly marketable and unique to this area, Including one for February that is certain to attract new customers. Needless to say, I would be happy to volunteer my services as a taste tester.

Every time I eat here, I experience this sense of nostalgia that accompanies the amazing flavors. Great milkshakes and other ice cream creations. Always busy but professionally handled. Great spot to grab a bite to eat!

Fanci freeze is the best (other than bear lake shakes) that ive ever had. My personal favorite shake is the butter rum. They also have a super good BLT sandwich that is loaded with bacon!

I absolutely love the ice cream dipped cherry. Always been my favorite and still makes it delicious. It can get pretty crowded on most days. If youre patience to wait drive thru, you must try this place. They also have the best milkshakes.

Just take my advice at fancifreez just order the ice cream and dont be like me and try to eat healthy here, that is not the point and their Smoothies arent that fantastic..however, the chicken tenders were amazing

I love to buy local! Fanci Freez is an Idaho classic and I would love nothing less than to write them a glowing review. Unfortunately my recent visit left me unimpressed. Fanci Freez has great milk shakes with many great flavors. Their ice cream is delicious and the spiced apple flavor is my favorite. Unfortunately this is where the positivity ends. I recently decided to try some of Fanci Freezs food and could not be more disappointed. My order was wrong (fries instead of onion rings), the burger was smashed and soggy and fries were limp and cold. Please see my attached picture for a sample. I will continue to patronize Fanci Freez and explore new shake varieties, but I will never again buy food from Fanci Freez.

Some folks go get a $5 coffee everyday, Id rather go get a $5 Coffee shake at the best ice.cream joint in the western hemisphere!! And the medium shake is now the large :-( $20 for two large shakes and a large waffle fry and thats what we got 10 fries and two medium shakes..oh well.....We know now 😉😉

Great burger quality. The burgers are a higher quality than your normal fast food. Fries are pretty standard, but they taste okay. This is a great place to go if you are looking for a mellow atmosphere, or if you going out casually.

Great customer service. Really good chicken fingers and chicken nuggets. Good cheeseburger. The fries were OK. The extra large size is an enormous amount though so really good value. Loved the flavor burst cones. Takes longer than fast food but is better than fast food so worth the time. We liked it! Would go again 👍

Everything here is so delicious BUT PLEASE GET YOUR EMPLOYEES TO WEAR MASKS PROPERLY!!! I only saw one employee with a mask that wasn’t halfway down there face. We are still in a pandemic people!!
