Where do I start? Overall I hated my experience here and wouldn’t recommend this dealership to anyone seeking a good car buying experience. Specifically, I chose Mike Anderson to purchase my very first brand new car; however, my experience was less than satisfactory. I was given a dealer trade vehicle with close to 100 miles on it, and when I went to pick it up, Leighton did not make sure it was cleaned and detailed. My front passenger seat literally had chicken grease and fried chicken crumbs on it, and the sunroof also had grease on it. Leighton only seemed to be interested in making a quick sale instead of making sure I was happy with the purchase. The only reason that I would even give this dealership any stars is because Rob Dow (or Rich, I can’t remember his name) actually came out and made sure my car was cleaned of the food crumbs, explained the features of the vehicle to me, and was just a beautiful kind soul. I wish that Mr. Dow was my salesperson. Unlike Leighton, who, after I purchased the car, seemed to care less. I bought that car in August 2022 from Mike Anderson and have since traded it because I hated it. I received a great car buying experience at an excellent dealership elsewhere. Never again.

While on a long, interstate road trip, I damaged a tire and stopped in for an assessment and repair. They not only accommodated me, working quickly to source a new tire for my car (which is not a Chevrolet), they also went the extra mile. They checked every nook and cranny of the car to ensure it was road-worthy and ensured I was comfortable during the wait. They were incredible and amazing, and Ill always be grateful for their impeccable work, service, and extraordinary courtesy. Highly recommend and thank everyone, especially Carl, Max, and Bob, for such an awesome experience.

This dealership is awesome! I have purchased several autos over my years but this was by far the best experience ever. Cinda Rondinelli is an excellent sales person. She is very patient, polite, and a lot of fun! Even though they were busy, I was amazed at how friendly the entire staff was in general. There is a lot of positive energy at this dealership and that is a welcomed change in this day and age! Sales person (kelly) had very good knowledge on the chevy lineup and sales manager (rob) gave me a bottle of water and was very friendly and honest and I felt very comfortable in my car buying experience. They gave me a very good deal on both my trade in and price of brand new 2021 black traverse and I am a costco member and did very little to no haggling. It is rare that I get to say that the customer experience of any business was very good but this dealership has surprised me twice now with this level of service. I would one hundred percent recommend this dealership to my own family and friends as this is the only dealership I have ever been to in my entire life that has been honest and upfront on all materials they presented. This is our families seventh purchase from Mike Anderson. We also have several family and friends who have made purchases as well. Kelley O’Brien has always been our salesman and our go to guy. It’s because of him we keep coming back and would never go anywhere else. We never have a moments hesitation dealing with Kelley. His knowledge of vehicles is astounding! Not to mention his great customer service before during and After the purchase is amazing. We always know we will be well taken care of and never have a moments worry. We know he truly cares about our family and not just a sale. We could not be more pleased.I would also like to mention Robert Dow. He’s another reason we keep coming back to Mike Anderson. Again, he truly cares about our family and our best interests. We have many choices of where to purchase vehicles but we never give it a second thought. Quentin was fantastic, he communicated every step of the process. Quentin is the reason this review gets a star. But:Having a new car under 10k miles in the shop for 120 out of the last 180 days and therefore having to pay out of pocket (No reimbursements) for my out of state transportation is not acceptable. Driving around a vehicle that was definitively unsafe for the last 10 months without even an apology is unacceptable. Paying $2,000 out of pocket for accidental damage related to a manufacturing defect is unacceptable (In addition to increased insurance rates as that is the only driving incident on my record).After this experience I dont know that my wife or I will ever feel fully safe or comfortable driving our Chevy.

Bob was extremely kind in letting me know what was going to take place. He did mention that it was a very busy day, but that they would do their best to get things moving along as quickly as possible. The gentlemen that helped me check-in and kept me posted about how things were going was also very kind! He did a great job providing me an update on what was taking place. Even though I had ot wait about 2 hours to get my car back they made the experience painless and keeping me updated really made me feel less frustrated.

Had a great experience buying my 2021 Chevrolet Equinox!!! Shelby reached out to me after viewing vehicles online and made sure I had all the info I needed to come buy a new vehicle. Ladell our car sales rep was informative and gave me all the features I asked for. He also helped me set up my new vehicle! My experience was nothing short of amazing. My sales woman, Kassandra, truly made a very stressful time in my life feel like a breath of fresh air. She was very helpful, kind, and very good at her career. She exceeded all of my expectations, and was very accommodating to any questions and concerns I had during my visit. She also made sure I had water and snacks ensuring that my visit was comfortable . I have to say that this woman deserves a raise! She is the type of person that puts 100 percent and nothing but positive energy into her customer service and you can tell she enjoys doing so.. that it is not scripted and who she is naturally. It is always a great feeling when you go into a place for service and feel that at home aura and atmosphere. The supervisor Rob Dow, was also extremely helpful and made the financing and figuring out my financial goals as painless as possible which I really appreciate! He is the kind of person that will really care about YOU and is very honest. Most places I have went have tried to jack up prices and rates to make more money for themselves... but that does not happen at Mike Anderson Chevrolet in Merrillville, IN! Now on to my car. Imagine sitting in a cloud... thats how comfortable the seats in my new 22 trailblazer LT are. It is very spacious and my two children fit perfectly in the back seat. It drives extremely smooth and has some really amazing features. I really love that it has heated seats and remote start. There is nothing I am missing and I am so elated that Rob and Kass were able to assist me with finding my dream vehicle. Had an appt for Monday morning diagnostic service- received call that night that they hadn’t had a chance to look at it yet. Didn’t hear from them the rest of the week. We called Friday and were told it hadn’t been looked at yet. Finally received word the following Tuesday evening that they had looked at it, couldn’t find anything wrong, and they’d be charging us three different $99 diagnostic fees. For diagnosing nothing and for keeping the car 9 days before looking at it.

I had a 9am appointment. I always expect it to be an hour for an oil change and tire rotation. I got checked in and Lisa told me it would be 1hr to an 1:15. Great! Except it ended up being 2 1/2 hours. At about 90mins I was told “it wouldn’t be much longer” but it was another hour. If it wasn’t for the Chevy points I had, I probably would just got to Jiffy Lube.

Bought a 2017 Traverse, with in 1 year Ive put 5000$ into it, always got my oil changes here, every problem always brought it here, but still after 2000$ on just front end to stop knocking, only answered they had was come back when it gets worse, and that was after bringing it back 3 times!!!!!!!By all means if your going to get a Chevy, which I suggest you dont, do not, EVER, EVER, go to Mike Anderson Chevrolet.Nothing but Crooks, who will try angel every possible penny out of you, and swear they do the best work around, after they mess your vehicle up

Terrible .... had a 12:30pm appointment:... 2:40 comes around and I go see what’s going on with my vehicle .... and they said it haven’t even went into the air yet .... I’m usually patient... but when someone tell u it’s only gonna be a hr or maybe a hr and a half then 2 hrs pass by and still haven’t even touched my car??? That’s an issue. I love Mike Anderson. Been going to them for years but they have to do better ... terrible

This was my first time there because I bought my vehicle at a different Chevy dealer. But I will deal with Mike Anderson from now on. I ordered items from the my Chevy website and had installed there. I had trouble with that and will never order from them again because I double paid in the end. I paid for installation with my order and had to pay again at the dealership. But this was of no fault of the dealership, whomever sent my order to Mike Anderson did not inform them of that and when I called the rep was extremely rude and would not send anything to the dealership to show I had paid. But the service guy that I had at Mike Anderson was very helpful and professional and most of all kind. I am very pleased with the service I received and most of all how my truck turned out.

Very disappointed. My first visit was a few months after purchasing a brand new truck there. It was for my first oil change, tire rotation, and a tire patch due to a nail in my tire with a slow leak. An appointment was made and I was there exactly on time. It took 3 HOURS with me in the waiting room the whole time! They had recommended I get the radio software update but then told me later they couldnt get it to work due to internet issues with your Comcast. Nobody updated me or spoke to me until I finally went and questioned the service department after the first hour and a half. Then after all that upset and waiting they also informed me that they couldnt see em voice me the car wash they offered because the ms machine was stuck. I was visibly frustrated after 3 hours and nothing was done to rectify the situation. Dont think Ill ever be coming back for service, it was atrocious other than the courtesy.

I am not one to air out my frustrations publicly, however after my experience with Mike Anderson Chevrolet, something needs to be done. Let me start from the beginning. I had to get my tail light fixed and chose to get it done at CDE collision after I read the positive reviews. They took my car in and did an initial inspection of the vehicle. They brought to my attention that the paint sealer on the hood of my car has already begun to peal. The hood of my car had been re-painted and improperly sealed. I told them that I just bought my car 8 months ago certified Pre owed from Mike Anderson- I wasn’t aware of it being painted. CDE advised me to take it back to Mike Anderson and have them redo the hood since it was is unacceptable. I did as they suggested; however, I was met with unprofessionalism by the supervisor of Mike Anderson’s Merrillville service shop whose name was Sean O’Donnell, and he said there were no other superiors I could talk to besides Mike Anderson himself. He offered no solution to my problem, and when I told him I was going else where, he saluted me off rudely. I wouldn’t of minded paying for my hood to be fixed if it was discounted or something was accommodated since this wasn’t disclosed about my car being painted beforehand. I’m upset with the service, again no solution, and I will never buy another car from Mike Anderson again. I want to thank CDE Collision for going above and beyond to help me repair my car- especially Kim and Bob.

I made an appointment to drop the car on Thursday at 1 p.m. I had just mentioned to my husband at 4:50 pm on Friday that I hadnt heard anything from the dealer. I received a call at 4:55 and was told the car hadnt been looked at yet. I was told they were open Saturday but the car probably wont be looked at on the weekend. On Monday at 2:10 I got a call. Saying it was done. When I dropped it off I said I would be by after work on Friday to pick it up. The guy said he didnt think it would be done by then and said didnt the person who made the appointment for you let you know that? By not being up front about the time it would take I feel you are not being an honest business. I for one would have called around to see if it could have been done more quickly somewhere else. You already anticipate that so you dont tell people upfront.

Had a great pain free experience. Came in to get my 2018 serviced left out with a 2022 lol. The experience was nice and hassle free. My salesman Steve P was great no pressure explained my opinions well even both me lunch. I really wanted an impala but was disappointed to find out they were discontinued 2 years ago. Not the dealership fault though.I would recommend going there for service or to buy a new car. Just beware of the packers fan in the service dept. Lol

Showed me a 2016 kia optima 58,400 miles that had the antenna ripped off (electronics showing) a dent over rear wheel with 2 rust spots nearby. Check engine light on for $15000 Then told me I better act fast because it will not last long... Im not expecting great deals with todays market. The shortage of vehicles makes things tough. However, the tactics used to try and sell me a car that clearly was not in any condition to sell let alone even be on the lot was very disappointing!

It took four visits, 3 loaner vehicles and 4 months of going back and forth just to have a strut replaced. The service department has really went downhill. I used to recommend Mike Anderson but after this experience I will not. I recently looked into purchasing a new vehicle from Mike Anderson and that didn’t go well either. There is a lack of communication between employees. There is also a lack of communication between employees and customers in both departments.

I was having a hard time finding the vehicle that I wanted. The Chevy spark was cheap, got great fuel economy, and was right in my budget for a work vehicle since I drove 2 hours to and from work 5-6 days a week. Rick was an amazing salesmen and contacted me several times while looking for the car I needed. Within 5 days he had the car on the lot! I went up that Friday signed my paperwork and drove off in my new car. It was painless and one of the easiest experiences I’ve had buying a car. I was also grateful of the free tshirt, bag, and hat as no other dealership had ever given me or anyone in my family something like that when buying a car from their dealership. I came in for an oil change in my new Equinox and was greeted by a youngman from Robbins Illinios a small town in the suburbs of Chicago. I dont remember his name but I remember where he was from because my family started a restaurant business in Robbins in 1959. That young representative did an outstanding job and made a former Lincoln Town car owner feel welcome at Mike Anderson Chevrolet. Everything about my experience was find but I didnt like the way I was being watched by several people/ mechanics as I walked the back lot looking for the New car inventory. I guess they may have thought an old American Indian mixed man might bear watching. I ask a young white employee where were all the new cars and I was told they were in front of the dealership. How sad because Mike Anderson had less than 15 new cars.

Tommy, the salesman, was friendly and helpful. He went out his way to get me the truck I wanted and just a good guy, he and the sales manager got me a nice cover to go over the box on my pickup truck box. The sales manager gave me a $2500 rebate to supposely bring the price of the truck to the agreed amount which was nice, however they slipped the $2500 back into the price in a sneaky way and when I went to see the finance manager. I didnt realize what had happen until a few days later, always read the contract thoroughly and go line by line and just dont sign it. Secondly they ask me to apply for credit before I went back to the dealership and I did. I was approved and they said they wouldnt run another credit check, but they did. now instead one inquiry I got four from them. Not good. The salesman, the sales manager and the finance lady said they wouldnt run another credit check but they did and lied about it. Please dont run any credit checks until you go see the finance person, so I now have more inquiries than I wanted and paid more than what we agreed on. Everyone was friendly, but I got burned in the end.

April 10 2021 I experienced a LOUD pop or suspension part in rear of 2018 traverse when leaving for work. Drove straight to work, than home at end of day. Asked wife to video tape noise from left rear of vehicle. Called Mike Andersons service department on the morning of April 11. Tried speaking to two separate service department personnel neither of them could tell me my vehicle was safe to drive, and they BOTH told me I would have to wait until April 17. Mind you this is a suspension problem, NOT AN OIL CHANGE! I purchased an extensive extended warranty when I purchased this vehicle that does cover loaner vehicle IF the dealer gets it approved!! I got my own way around until Anderson had my vehicle, diagnosed and ordered a part other than the needed one. Than I called and complained to oDonald who got me a downgraded loaner that I used for a couple of weeks while they tried to locate a $25 rear sway bar link for my 2018 $55,000. Redline Traverse. This truck has now been in the shop for service on a number of issues for 60+ Days since I purchased it in January 2018. This speaks volumes to the quality of the product,...did the quality go in to the product BEFORE the name goes on ! ? ! ?

First time going there for a simple oil change service. Said it wasnt going to take 1 hr and 15 min to finish. Took almost 3 hours. And they didnt even wash the car. I could have just went to jiffy lube and it would have been much cheaper also. This was the first time I went to any dealer for service and they didnt give my car a wash.

I was leasing my Equinox and wanted to keep it but Kelly ( my salesman) got me a newer, better Equinox with everything I wanted and I was happy to purchase it. Of course it could have been cheaper and payments lower and years lower but really I have no complaints. I love the Equinox and I believe that Mike Chevrolet really do want the best for their customers and they really try to give the best deal for the customer. Once I find a person I can trust I usually stay with them and I let my friends and family know that they can purchase their vehicles from them. Thank you and keep up the good work.

It was a 2 hour wait on a oil change which includes tire rotation I think. I had a $7 coupon but was told that for the wait they are replacing that coupon and giving me 20% off total bill. I appreciate that but sadly no one came out after 30-45 minutes to let me know it was going to be longer.

I had gotten an email offer to upgrade my current vehicle (I originally bought my vehicle from Mike Anderson and was very happy with the experience). I went in with no expectations and was just happy to see what my offers were. My salesperson was professional, knowledgeable, not overly friendly, but I was completely fine with not making small talk. As I was waiting for my offers, I noticed as more and more employees filtered into the showroom floor, not many were wearing masks or some kind of face coverings, which as time went on, made me more and more uncomfortable. I get that all will be going back to normal soon and masks will obsolete, however dont have a big huge sign on your front door that says Masks are required and yet dont make your employees enforce it. Sorry to say, I will not be returning.

So I was very leary of bringing my 2018 Colorado in after having the worst experience at Garber Chevy in Highland. (They had kept it for a week before running diagnostics and then told me they didnt find anything). My truck was clearly having a trans shudder issue. The technician Quinten was very helpful and seemed aware of the issue, even if it was rare. They replaced the Trans fluid with the correct fluid and had it all done in one day. Im so ecstatic to have my truck working right!!

We had a fantastic experience from the very beginning to the very end when we drove off the lot with our new 2021Traverse.. Rick Kritlow, our salesman, was outstanding! Very clear & explained everything thoroughly. Very relaxed dealership.. Nobody hassled us when we entered the dealership for the first time. Even the finance department didnt hold you hostage trying to sell you all those additionals. We were in and out. We felt like they really appreciated us & valued out time!

My wife and I bought a 2021 Blazer RS at the end of March this year, we also purchased the environment package for the interior/exterior. When it was time to schedule the appt (which said would take 6-8 hrs..understandable), I also brought to their attention that the rear view mirror had yellow paint on it and wanted it taken care of, also one of the head lights was trapping a lot of moisture and we also purchased through Chevy a bug deflector for the front that we wanted installed. I get that it would take more than 1 day to do all this. I dropped it off on a Wed morning at 830am and on Saturday at 300pm I get a call saying it will more than likely be after the following Monday when the truck is ready. I asked a few times what the hold up was (over the course of 2 separate phone calls) and could never get a straight answer other than, its getting held up between the different departments....Lets hope Tuesday it is finished (5 working days)................

First i have to say that this is not my first time dealing with the salesman Rafael, i was with my fiancé when she made purchased her first equinox (he was in the used vehicle area then). this young man impressed me greatly with not only his professionalism but also his product knowledge and in very personable demeaner. he was friendly, informative and yet we or should say she never felt like she was being pushed into a vehicle she didnt truly want.fast forward to July 23, 2021.... in my opinion he has honed his skill to a razors edge! a truly well informed and in-depth individual whose goal was apparent that he was working solely to find ME the EXACT vehicle that i was in NEED and WANT of.... no other dealership i have EVER been to in my years of buying my own vehicles have i EVER experienced that type of professional dedication. that is quite an accomplishment considering i have shopped for vehicles from coast to coast while serving this country as a US Marine. many time before buying a vehicle i ALWAYS had buyers remorse..... until now!!!! i couldnt be happier and more content yet excited with my NEW CHEVY SILVERADO crew cab LT. please excuse my feeble attempt at trying to convey in type words my exquisite pleasurable buying experience at MIKE ANDERSON.... this is all attributed to Rafael!!! i will also have to alert you to a strong honorable mention of salesman Roberto Bustos ( i believe is his name) and hopefully spelled correctly... when i walked in the day before (22nd July) Rafael was already giving his attention to another potential buyer. so rather than just watching me walk out the door, Roberto sprang from his comfortable chair and asked if he could assist me in any way since my salesman was preoccupied.... i replied yes, so while my salesman was attending to the desires of the other patron, Roberto added me in showing me quite a few other trucks that fit my niche for use...you have a veritable goldmine in those two!!! i sincerely thank you !
