Im a meat lover though and though and Hayes Meats has everything that I could ever want. A kid in a candy store. Not sure how to make multiple reviews so Im just editing this one. Went back to get some ribs for a family gathering this week and grabbed two rack ribs. While I was there I noticed that they are offering a CBD beverage now. Had to get the Orange can, I love citrus flavors.

Ive been in a handful of times over about a dozen years. Probably actually made a purchase three times out of five. The beef selection is usually pretty good but expensive. Specialty meats like lamb, duck, goose, etc are rare and even more expensive when available. The other stuff in the store is hit or miss, but usually they have a few spices and seasonings that are excellent and hard to find. Limited selection is the only real problem with this meat market. The high price would be worth it if I didnt also have to stop at Publix to pick up a couple of sides. Would love more local options. The staff has never been overtly friendly but has never been rude either. Just a three star experience in general.

We’ve been enjoying Hayes Meats for 3 years since moving to Merritt Island in 2018. It’s such a pleasure to have a wonderful butcher shop at a convenient location. We had none where we moved from prior to 2018.I used Hayes for numerous catering events. Always a wonderful meal!Their selections such as ribeye steaks, filets, and ground sirloin are much better flavor and quality then other places the sell meat.

While I do miss the butcher in the small town in Vt I grew up in, where the whole cow was swung in on a hook and all the cutting was done in plain site....this is still a butcher I have come to trust for quality cuts and amazing customer service. There are some items they carry that I am not a fan of, but I can chock that up to personal taste. When ever I want something out of the ordinary like length-cut bones to make bone marrow meat butter, or a nice Picanha (best cut on the cow), they are only a phone call and no more than a few days away from being on my plate. The display counter is laid out well and is very drool worthy for any meat lover. The quality of the meat is always great, and their Prime packages are phenomenal.

I really enjoyed my first experience going into this establishment and was very impressed with the employees the most. Not only did they welcome us why they were busy getting their day ready but every person their spoke to us and answered our questions with ease. The prices are a bit high but you pay for quality. We will be going back. Oh by the way the sausage is fantastic. Try the hot Italian sausage you wont be disappointed. Thank you Hayes meats for the experience.

Our local go to butcher. Always good quality meat decent prices. Our only complaint is the online ordering can be a bit confusing. We ordered bacon thinking it was from the case and we ended up with prepackaged, and only noticed once we got home.

Im absolutely blown away by this place. A local market thats been in the business for over 50+ years and is running strong. We put in a large, curbside pickup order so we can restock our supplies and when we got there, they came out and put the order in our trunk. Touch free, masks on, all that good stuff.Because of the size of our order, they did forget to put a few dry goods in our bag. So, when we got home we called just to let them know and they fell over themselves to make it right. We werent upset, it happens, we just wanted to make it good for next time.They went above and beyond to make it right. Included many extras, which we said was not needed, and when we went back they were incredibly helpful, polite and resourceful to meet our needs.The quality of the food, all around, has been incredible. Deli meats, breads, fresh apple butter, steaks, just all of it.Reasonably priced for such high quality. Weve absolutely found our new place for quality foods, even when the pandemic is over this is going to be our new home shop. I cant wait to go in and see it in person.

Always a pleasure to come here! Staff is always helpful and attentive to their customers. Steaks are fantastic! You can clearly tell the difference in one of Hayes steaks and one of the other guys. Much better tasting! My husband was in last week and asked if they had hot dogs rolls to go with the hot dogs he had just bought,they didnt have them then, owner wrote it down, and a few days later we came back to do some more shopping and he had them! They always listen to the customer. Would HIGHLY recommend!! Thank you guys again so much! See you next week for some more shopping!!

Bought some filet mignon, not sure if the terrible smell was from the wrapped bacon. But they smelled awful, I cooked 2 hoping they would turn out good but it was the worst piece of meat Ive ever tried, couldnt eat it. Too bad I bought 6 just wasted my money. Wont be back after that. The paper they were wrapped in was stained green I should have known not to even try it.. 🤮

Its hard to decide which is better, the full selection of hand cut steaks and thick cut bacon or hand made Italian Sausage or Prime Chicken breasts, or the lunches you can get while your there. Plan on spending time shopping in the store as they also have a wide variety of items for every dinner event you might be planning.

We have been shopping at Hayes Meats for the past 8 years and cannot say enough about our wonderful experiences. They catered our daughter’s wedding 6+ years ago and I must say the talent of their chef coupled with the professionalism of their staff was out of this world! Our guests were absolutely impressed!We shop at the store weekly. You can’t beat the quality of their meats and the prices will blow you away! Hayes staff is the friendliest, most helpful staff we have EVER encountered! I can’t count the number of times I have walked out of there with a complete dinner menu. They are always giving great ideas! I grilled up this tomahawk steak and it was perfect. I used a Char crust rub they had available which really set it off. This place is great! Amazing quality with amazing prices. The family fun atmosphere is icing on the cake. The free beer while you shop doesn’t hurt either.

I stand by this review!! Neither women acknowledged me though both had made eye contact with me. It seems that the person being waited on was a friend and rather than have him be waited on by one person the two of them helped him and forced the other customers to wait.Not very thrilled with the customer service. I was standing next in line while the service person was waiting on a customer another service person came out and rather than help the next in line she decided to wait on the customer that was already being helped. She never said a word to the people waiting in line she just started helping the person who was already being helped.Ill never go there again way too rude and lazy!!!!

Down in cocoa beach from Canada, researched this place before my trip and sure glad I did! Amazing selection of meats and surprisingly the lobster tail (which was part of an amazing valentines day special $2 with purchase of prime steak) and the free beer is no joke friends, jump in, pour yourself a glass (really, Im not making this up, you do it yourself!) and shop away! The steaks, burgers, lobster and hot dogs (for the kiddies) were all amazing. Keep up the great work guys. People, if you want a good steak, Publix wont have it, these guys will! :)

I have been shopping at Hayes for over 20 years. So much nicer than going to a grocery store for your meats. The garlic pasta salad has become a tradition at our cook outs. They also have the best hot dogs ever.

I love this place! When I worked overseas I would fill up a large cooler from Hayes Meat to take back as checked luggage. Gem is always there to make sure you get everything you need. Free beer too!!!

I cant say enough good about Hayes Meats. Ive worked across the street from them since 2004 and regularly buy my lunch there. Great food, (especially the french dip sandwiches!), and always wonderful service. The owners are fellow dog lovers and are very active in helping our local animal community. Every year they organize Whiskers, Wags, and Wine- an event that benefits the local Humane Society. They really go above and beyond in everything they do. Definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a cool little meat shop/grocery.

I just want to say what an awesome store Hayes Meats is. They always have the freshest foods, the best steaks around, and the friendliest people working there. Im by no means a gourmet cook, and whenever Ive asked questions about how to cook something, theyre always very helpful. We also gave a friend a gift card from Hayes Meats a couple of years ago for Christmas, and he loved the place and is now a regular. If you live locally or are just visiting Brevard County, I highly recommend Hayes Meats!

My go to deli for the best subs and sandwiches. I call it in and pick it up easy peasy and always delicious + pickle, choice of side & cookie. Always a great selection of prime meat and reasonably priced.Clean store & friendly, knowledgeable staff. Dont forget the wine!

Great fresh meats.

Hit or miss here. Ive had a few great ribeyes and a few very bad ribeyes. The bad ones were oxidized pretty bad on the underside that you dont see in the case. The smell was pretty bad when I unwrapped them. I wish they were more consistent.

Hayes meats has been around since I was a kid. My mom and grandma used to take me there, and I still shop there. They have a great variety of quality fresh meats, gourmet extras when I want to make something special, a friendly and helpful staff, and their prices are great!

Hayes is 1st class, we bought a whole hog from them and when we went to pick it up we asked them to butterfly it for us. They basically stopped what they were doing and got to work! Definitely a Home Town Butcher!! Thanks!!

A couple of weeks ago I purchased three different meat packages ....I brought one home and two were delivered the next day. I am very happy with all the meats I purchased. We ordered Xmas dinner here. It was a standing rib roast, green bean casserole, and cheesy potatoes. The food served 8-10 people which was right on. The instructions on the roast were a bit off which is why the 4 stars as it took way longer to cook per their instructions. Would definitely order again though. Excellent flavor!

Hayes Meats is the only place on Merritt Island and the surrounding area to buy your meats and deli products! Why? They have the best Prime Sirloin and the have the Tri Tip that I have learned to cook so well that I now usually prefer it over a strip ! The marbling is usually great and while I make my decisions very carefully I get to enjoy a complimentary brew! The staff is always helpful in any kind of help or advice you might need! Maybe just a friendly chat as you make the tough choice because it is all so good....twice baked potato or killer bacon.The recent remodel of the facade is also awesome and you may think youre in the keys and yes you are pretty close! Go cookout this weekend on the ISLAND!

I have tried most of the sandwiches from the deli everything is so fresh and Tasty that I crave for more. Staff are very nice and welcoming and no doubts about healthy food always my first option for a subLove it

Went in at 9:45am on a Saturday with only one other customer in the store, stood for several minutes in front of the counter while employees were wrapping meat in front of me and wasnt acknowledged in any way. No be right with you or anything. Left and went to Publix for a turkey.

$34 rib roast was so tough we couldnt hardly chew it. Dogs loved it. Used a 5 star recipe that has worked well before.

Great place to buy your meats or a quick bite to eat. Ordered a gyro with rolled grape leaves and everything was very flavorful, friendly and helpful staff.

Decent sandwhiches at a great price. Incomparable to the fast food sandwhich shops. Triend the french dip, combo salad, greek salad, turkey sub, and the rueben. The rueben could have been a little saucier but overall decent quality ingredients.

EXTREME DISAPPOINTMENT!! I bought three vouchers via GROUPON for a b-day party. I intended to make a couple visits in an hour or so to use them, but people in the store refused to serve them in same day which violates the disclaimer on the voucher “valid one per visit”, not one per day. The reason for that was “owner doesn’t make money on Groupon deals” (!!!) I will have to make special trips to Merritt Island to use the vouchers and I will never come back after that or recommend the place to anyone I know. Stay AWAY.

When quality matters, I go to Hayes Meats. I know of no other shop in the area that offers Prime grade meat. Publix and other grocers sell only Choice or Select grades.

My wife and I just moved here from NH and we were used to Places like McKennons for a meat market and we had Tuckaway Tavern as well with everything you could imagine with mile long counters so we googled the area and found this place so we couldn’t wait to check this place out. When we got there We were in shock. After looking at the picture on the web it was totally different when we got there . We found the selection that was there had been sitting there for a while and there wasn’t nothing really to choose from. Thank god I could place a order from Tuckaway. I guess I will just have to keep looking.

Hayes Meats is a gem here on Merritt Island. I am especially proud that they support not only their human customers but have compassion by posting a flyer for Molly a dog that was murdered by a local business owner here on the Island. There are many other businesses which have posted this flyer and I havent seen a complaint. We have to be the voice of the voiceless. Kudos Hayes. Have been and will be a customer for life and will always steer business your way!

Good meat and vegetables but the prices are some what too high.

Easily the Very Best Meats in the Entire County. Prime grade, & they carry a special cut of meat that is very rare in the South, but its a California Treasure— Tri-Tip. If youve never tried it you have to try it! In addition to that specialty cut, they have just about every kind of meat you can imagine. Daily homemade salads from Fruit Salad to Garlic Parmesan. Everyone is chiLLaxed, very laid back, extremely nice and friendly—it feels like a family environment while you shop— all of the employees are very knowledgable on all of their gourmet goods, their infinite selection of Fine Wines and the dank, import and microbrews they stock. Plus you get a free steak on your birthday, you get to drink free beer on draft while shopping and new customers get a free steak… This place is absolutely amazing!!! I highly recommend Hayes Meats and I feel sorry for you if you never get to experience it, it is just that good. Peace and Love. DC

What I dont like is deceitful people! I went in to get a couple steaks for a nice dinner tonight while in Florida and was surprised by the interactions with the young guy behind the counter. I picked out the steaks I wanted, he pointed to clarify and then picked them up to be wrapped. I then turned away to browse the shop when my attention was drawn back by the guy putting my steaks back on the shelf and wrapping something else up. I thought that I must have been being paranoid as I couldnt believe what I was seeing, so I assumed I must have been wrong. But then I observed an interaction between the guy and a female co-worker who was smiling in bewilderment and motioned to him that she saw what he had done. He then responded to her that this is how we do things... and Im ok with that. When he brought my order to the cash I asked to unwrap the steaks and sure enough they were not what I had ordered. I commented about this and his response was to initially blame me, telling me that I chosen these steaks, but when I assured him that they were not he apologized and gave me the steaks I wanted.I have not yet eaten these steaks as they are for a New Years dinner tonight, so I cannot comment on the quality - the ones I chose (and eventually got) look good - but it certainly does leave a bad taste in my mouth. Compounding this anger is the fact that they were the only place open which made it impossible for me to walk away and go elsewhere!To the owners: your reputation on-line seems to be of a good quality neighborhood butcher. In order to maintain this, you get rid of this kind of dishonest help...if he will steal from customers, he will likely steal from you! If he happens to be related to you, my apologies but it is too late - he is dishonest and ok with that!Finally, if this is a practice that you indeed endorse (remember: this is how we do things... and Im ok with that), shame on you.

Awful customer service. I will not shop here again. My family tried to buy sandwiches 40 minutes before the store closed and they refused to make them. We were told that they couldnt make them because deli closed at 6:30. We placed our order before 6:30 but the woman was working on something else already so she didnt want to serve us after she finished with the other customer. The grocery options are very limited so there is no reason to go there if you are not purchasing sandwiches.

I recently went to hayes meat and was very disapointed with the quality of the meats.The salads in the deli counter looked old and the pastromie went up from 8.99 to 10.99 since the last time i was there.The new york strips were very small.And when i tried to use my coupon for $4.00 off a purchace of $30.00 or more they refused to accept it saying you cant use it on sale items.I will find another place to get my meats from.
