I go here every so often. Theres a reason why. They usually only have one person behind the counter and usually have several customers in line waiting. The sandwiches are only ok. Theyre not bad but FAR from good. Theyre also expensive for absolutely no reason. An equivalent sandwich of meat egg and cheese on a regular bagel is almost $1 more than the bagel stores around here. Their selection of bagels is getting smaller as is their beverage selection. They know this about their store and seem to refuse to change. Perhaps its why I see less and less customers go in there. They have great potential with location but an unwillingness to be competitive and staffed appropriately will eventually lead to closing the store.
I have given the place an opportunity to get it together for the past for 2 yearsand today was the final day I come here . It is Saturday and two guys working and one doesn’t know how to use the grill. Prior owners I had 0 issues, always picked up the phone, and they were always well staffed and had enough people working especially on the weekends . Also, similar to other reviews, the sandwich’s have no meat anymore in them . It is unfortunate but I will. Have to find a new place and drive a little extra to get a bagel .
Good local bagel spot. Consistently fast service as well as bagel quality. They need to hire the guy who works there some more help though.
Started out good, but back in April the service started getting very slow, and the food wasnt as good. Sandwiches were starting to have little to no substance and the prices are high. Today is the last time I will ever go though. I ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches, and one of them came back with a rubber glove baked onto it. It was 100% stuck to the bagel and melted to it, in a way that was 100% obvious the staff who picked, cut, put the egg and sausage onto it had to have noticed in the time they were handling it and chose to ignore it. I got a refund and will never return
Great bagels and they have a large selection of flavors. Three stars for the service. We went on a Saturday around 11am. The staff appeared overwhelmed by the line of customers and service was slow. It took a long time to order and pay for the bagels. While they accept credit cards and there is no minimum, they have a 4% discount when you use cash.
Two people before me and myself had to repeat our orders three times and still got them wrong. When they take orders over the phone they do not ask for your name give you a time or say anything they just hang up.At least they wore gloves but the customer service is not great even when it’s not busy.
Great sausage, egg, and cheese bagel.
Tuna is very good. I’m a tunaeater and know good tuna. It was fresh even though I walked in at 1pm, was dying for there everything bagel but out:-). They are nice people and there lox cream cheese is off the charts!5 star
This place went really downhill. The place is always closed Went there today for a couple bags. 11:30 already closed. How can you run a business like this.?
Absolutely the biggest rip off. Staff not pleasant $6 for pork roll and cheese with 1 slice cheese 2 slices pork roll and stale bagel. Disgrace to Middlesex ‼️
Bagels have been great but it has been very frustrating the past 3 times trying to go here. It says the hours are till 3 pm but I’ve tried going at 2pm, 1pm and they are closed? I’m confused unless the hours have changed.
I found hairs in the bagels, these bagels are too hard and chewy not good at all I can get better bagels at wawa! The veggie cream cheese is really good tho! Thats about it 🤷♀️
I flew into New Jersey to visit a friend and they took me here to get an authentic bagel sandwich and it did not disappoint! It was beyond amazing, and Ill need a sandwich every morning. I got an egg and cheese, added veggie cream cheese on a habanero bagel which i would highly recommend!! The staff was also very friendly!
Great fresh bagels. Nice people. Always a stop for us. Make sure to try the French toast bagel. Not much for sweet bagels but this piqued my interest and it was worth it.
I purchased 2 1/2 dozen bagels (variety) for a work “Spooky” themed breakfast and the bagels were warm and ready to go by 6:15 AM! They were fresh, it was a good mix and super yummy! Lots of coworkers asked where I purchased them from...happy to say it was Bagel Bistro in Middlesex! Thank you, I will be buying from you again.
They were very helpful and friendly while giving our orders and were mind when I forgot an order. 10/10 would recommend the Bagel Bistro.
Very good bagels and great service. Exactly what you’re looking for when you crave a bagel.
Great bagels and friendly service.
My son Anthony and I eat at the Bagel Bistro a couple times a week. The owners are wonderful BUT our #1 reason in THE FOOD!Anthony loves their fresh bagels and hash browns and his favorite chips and drink.Me theres to much, eggs, BLT, fresh chicken salad, the French Vanilla coffee. Croissants and wraps.....These folks make you feel like you are part of the family.Gil Pementel
For the 3rd week in a row i have to reconcile for bagels i do not like . 9 30 am and out of cinnamon raisin. Last week, 930 and out of plain bagels. So on and so forth.Apparently only make enough to insure everything sells, and are not dependable. Very disappointing and unreliable. Will drive to next town over, a bit farther but at least their baskets are full until at least 1130...
Good breakfast, good costumer service only thing is they put very little meat and/or eggs in their sandwiches so youll need to order extra which will bring your sandwich price a bit expensive.
Im re-vamping my review from 2+ years ago. Apparently, theres new ownership. Quality of bagels is improved, friendliness of staff is MUCH improved, and quantity of cream cheese is generous. Im glad I tried this place again, after my multi-year boycott.
Usually good. I go there with my friends sometimes for lunch. But they corrected me on my grammar, and always say thats 1000 pennies if I have $10. Kinda strange
Good bagels . But I wish I knew how to speak Indian so I could understand the music . But always good to go there
Good bagels but not enough staff. When I went on a Saturday morning there was a long wait time to even order, and same person was taking orders, making food, etc. and a second person was struggling to make orders, take phone-in orders and ring us up. I thought I’d give it another try this Saturday morning so I tried to call ahead around 9am to save some time. The phone rang 15 times and NO ONE ANSWERED! I guess they don’t want (or can’t handle) the business, so we went elsewhere.
My go to bagle spot in the area. Quality bagles, meats and Cheeses. Good service and excellent food.
Their chicken Caesar wrap was actually really good. Definitely worth it.
New owners made various improvements from previous owners who didn’t seem to know what they were doing. They are very nice people and know you by name when you become a “regular”. A little costly but very nice people and food is overal good— it’s get busy so call ahead! Good people!
Great bagels and cream cheese, locks and cream cheese was really good
Very good bagels, reasonably priced; $4.75 for a bagel with cream cheese and a small coffee. At about 10am they were sold out of many types of bagels so get there early if you are picky.
Bagels are good but there hours say open at 6am & mon-fri I drive past them at 6:10 on my way to work & they are consistently closed. Ive given up trying to stop. Its a shame that a bagel spot in Central Jersey isnt open to serve those customers that commute into work at 6am. Such a shame! Dont waste your time, unless its after 7am, maybe youll get lucky
Or they bagels is good especially my favorite bagel to French toast bagel.
Bagels are amazing breakfast sandwiches are delicious and the service is unbeatable
This isnt even close to an authentic bagel shop. Sure they have a decent assortment of bagels and cream cheese but the fail to meet the cardinal rule for a good bagel shop. SUNDAY MORNING BAGELS MUST BE HOT AND FRESH!!!Such a disappointment
Quintessential NJ bagel spot. We stop by every time were in the area.
Nice and quality food very friendly staff
Always a good experience with the food and friendly staff . The penny man!
Friendly staff and good food
Coffee is not great. Service is not friendly. Bagels are fine. Croissants are just bad. Tuna fish spread is not tasty
Great bagels with butter. Skip the cream cheese for 1.50 extra, not worth it!!
Fresh and big bagels. Lots of variety. Perfect for breakfast. I liked the bialys bagel with eggs.
Can not get a simple order correct. Three strikes and youre out. So many other places to spend your money.
Polite people - Fresh tasty bagles.
Great breakfast sandwiches. Bring cash for a discount
Good BAGLE shop featuring a special. They have a nice selection of spreads and make breakfast and lunch selections. There are restrooms available. The shop.is handicap accessible and there is a parking lot on the front with handicap parkingIt is in the Middlesex Boro shopping center on Union Ave at Greenbrook Rd
Great bagels and very nice staff.
They dont seem to bake all the bagels fresh each morning. I dont go there as much anymore as Ive had a few stale bagels.
Worst service ever. I wad there for 20 minutes, saw 5 orders get messed up. So when I went to get mine, I asked just to make sure the order was right. They said yes and lo and behold, I get home and I have someone elses order entirely. So yea.....they just lied right to my face. Then when I call them to complain about it they deny it and say I must have thought I ordered something different.
They have the most amazing French toast bagels
I usually go for breakfast on mondays ($3.19 for a breakfast sandwich which is cheap) and the bagle are always fresh and taste great. Also great customer service
I go every chance i get. A few bad experiences but they gave me a new bagel and it was all good. Overall 4 stars
Bagels are excellent and customer service even better.
Wont go back. Ordered bagel and the guy grabs it with bare hands after touching money and not washing hands. Groossssd
Not too impressed with this place. First time I went in there for coffee, i liked it alot. Good strong Colombian. Next time the coffee is noticeably weaker. So the inconsistency is not good. Third time i go in there I get a Tuna on a bagel and an orange juice and they charge me about $9 which included 0.50 for onions !!! Huh? Who charges extra for onions ? i may try the coffee again next time i go to the Farmers Market in the morning but i will buy only coffee since they rip me off on Tuna bagel.
Great service, even better bagels.
Love it family business is the way to go and this family makes great bagels
Best bagels in town with friendly customer service.
Excellent bagels and great cutomer service.
Went here on Saturday around 1pm walked out at 1:15 after no acknowledgement from the staff. I get places are busy and we totally would have waited but no one said anything.
Delicious personal service.
Not impressed at all with the service or the food bagels were not even prepared how I ordered them.personally i I will never go there again.
