I used the hair salon service. My hairdresser is Daniela Durante and she did an amazing job. Highly recommend! The hair cut is $65 and they still asked about tips. While I certainly wanted to tip her, I feel like $65 is already not cheap for a hair cut.
Anthony at the Middletown Ulta is the best!!! I walk in with no product knowledge and he always helps me find everything I am looking for! Because of this I have saved so much time and energy and I really appreciate that!
I came here for an appointment to change my hair back to my natural color as a “give up” to my attempts at getting my dream color. I came here for an appointment with faded hair all different kinds of wonky colors. I told them what I attempted previous times beforehand and they made it happen! The first try it came out a bit off, but these girls stayed two hours later than schedule to make sure I came out happy with results, and I sure did! My hair looks so amazing and I’m so overjoyed!! Over priced, unprofessional young girls in their early 20’s who barley have experience & they’re always late to start appointments. Extremely bad experience here not once but twice & from customer to customer… I HIGHLY RECOMMEND not coming to Ulta for any services.

Unfortunately Im a Latina and when I come to this store I always get an energy of judgements of my appearance and oftentimes if asked I need help is in an sarcastic way. I’m not really one to do reviews. But corporate or whoever is in charge of this location should consider restaffing. I love ulta, I’ve been a customer for quite sometime but the vibe here is totally off. I came in to buy some things I needed for a makeup shoot and I was helped by absolutely no one. The women at the cashier were all super catty discussing a new staff member in a negative manner. And the woman who checked me out was super distasteful also. I’m not sure if this is all the time but the only time they seemed to be enthusiastic about anything was when the store was closing.
Always come here to get my brows done by Briana. Was there over the weekend & was told I needed to double my mask or she wouldn’t do my brows. (This was never the rule before). She stated, “yeah it’s different here”. I get we are in a pandemic, but if you aren’t making everyone wear double masks that come into the store how is that fair to only force me? Extremely unprofessional and straight up rude. If you are scared to work, stay home & let us front line workers do our job. News flash: masks don’t protect against anything, do you wanna double your mask? Nope, I didn’t think so. Will no longer be returning to this store location, she really left a bad taste in my mouth in regards to ulta in general. Is this how you treat people? Ulta you need to do better & make sure to give your employees a customer service class or two.Forgot to add that I’m always waiting even tho I’ve got an appointment. First time she asked me to come in earlier so I did and she was doing another woman’s lash application. Second time she was doing paperwork for “corporate”. It’s sad she is the only brow artist in this location.

I was there yesterday with my sister, and the first thing right off, we were greeted by two staff members. The young lady went off to help another client, and my sister knew the young man, Anthony. Turns out he is a total GEM! PLEASE! KEEP HIM! not only was he totally easy to talk too,(we talked about our passions for veganism, and the damn cost!) But he was super quick to look up any information, and help us out with finding cruelty free brands. Even telling us his experience with certain ones.Ive Never actually had a bad experience with Any of the employees here, but I will certainly be looking for him when I return to shop there!
They did a return for me unfortunately did not have a new one to exchange for. But Ulta is always fun!

Nice product selection but if you return anything they give you an attitude and look at you in shame, which makes an embarrassing customer experience, your return policy is as stated you cannot do anything about limiting customer returns, so deal with it or quit.

This place is horrendous! So many associates walked past us DIDNT offer any help! Everyone was on their phones on the floor instead of helping people... every cashier was just rude and not enthusiastic! Will never shop here again! And neither should you 😊

Ive hurt so many things about Ulta Ive heard things you wouldnt even believe from how wonderful it is from every product from hair to skin perfume makeup and products such as blow dryers and hair straighteners Ive even heard of women who go and dumpster dive for the boxes that are dented in the back of the store that to me is bizarre then I went into Ulta and was like a child and a candy store I felt like Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory and it seemed like every time I went I only had 20 minutes because they closed well when they close obviously I cant remember when that is ... All I can say is 5✨✨✨✨✨💥 they blow the roof off the house in beauty products and not just one kind so many brands brands that you just wonder where people get ahold of them and then you walk into Ulta and there they are they are phenomenal and if youre looking for something original there you go so go go ahead be Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory and enjoy

My first time in an Ulta... was in Middletown so I decided to go in - as I’m looking around several workers are walking pass me...squeezing to get by passed me..finally I asked for help the lady said they didn’t have it- then pointed to the next product I was looking for. While I was there looking for skincare once again workers just squeezing by and I promise NOBODY asked me if I needed help!!! Then I asked someone for help who was behind a counter-yes 2 ladies were just talking amongst themselves. When I asked her about the product line she had no clue about anything. Worst first impression.. will go to Monroe next time. Hope they are a lot more customer service oriented as well as knowledgeable about the products being sold. But the lady at the register was friendly and upbeat.. the only one with customer service skills.
I only went to this location for the first time to use the benefit brow. Benefit has used in the past a great wax for sensitive skin but now has changed it and the quality of the wax seemed terrible. Customers pay for quality of the product as well as the experience that comes with it. The person who did my eyebrows seemed to be very out of it and kept forgetting all the steps that go with the service. It’s very disappointing considering how much it costs and I have used benefit services for over 8 years all of over the country. The Ulta employees were all hovered over next to the brow bar having personal conversations while they had a store full of customers. The cashier was wonderful and seemed like the only employee that liked her job, based on her upbeat and positive demeanor.
Even though it was extremely busy, the ladies worked hard to accommodate EVERY customer and hold the fort down!🙂

I love going to Ulta beauty in Orange county they have such amazing things to shop from. I like buying things for my hair because I have such a variety and Im usually in the store for an hour or so trying to decide what item to pick and the staff is always friendly there and very helpful. The store is clean and I can guarantee you that I end up buying more than what I went in there for.
Needed to get a lipstick with a matching lip pencil, along with a pencil sharpener. Was served right away by a knowledgeable young man, who gave me the choice of two top brands. Rarely shop for makeup, but when I get it, I want top quality. Nothing but TOP QUALITY here, and I will be back!
Women of color please call before you come. This particular store does not order darker shades in certain Popular product lines. It is so sad that in 2020 I have to go to two major make up stores Including this one in Middletown and not fine something in my color.And for the sales associate to say that the colors I’m asking for our typically found in cities and more urban areas. Love visiting the benefits brow bar. Eventhough they charge $22 for eyebrow wax they always do a great job. They take their time and dont rush.Worth the money.
The store itself is kept clean for the most part. When items are set to launch on a certain date this store is never on time. They usually dont have new items on display until the 4th ish day of a release. Thats probably the only downside. The staff is friendly and helpful most of the time however I dont recommend getting shade matched by them because some dont understand different skin types. If you are well versed in makeup and need help finding something the staff is 10/10

My 10 minute facial was great and brow consult was ok, but she didnt really tell me how to do it or how to use all the tools. The cashiers are weird. Kind of an attitude on multiple occasions.

Go to Walmart or your favorite drugstore. Better yet, there are many websites that sell same products for less than half of the price!
I went in not knowing much about make up because I keep getting cookie cutter aesthetic graduates who keep suggesting the wrong foundation for me to use. I am tan with a hardcore yellow undertone and for years Im always suggested a color that makes me look like I just sunbathed my face to death. I went in and (I forgot the name of the young lady that helped out, she wore a white coat) the first young lady helped me right away. She called another young lady by the name of Renee to help. For the first time in forever, she found the perfect color foundation. Made me feel beautiful. They all helped out trying to find a product that wasnt in stock. I also signed up and got approved for their card which saved me a ton of money that day. What a wonderful experience for the first time ever! Thank you ULTA!

I love the makeup and selection. Went to get my hair cut and styled and was rushed in and out. Did not like the cut and was not what I asked for.
Wanted to get a wig for my mom who had cancer. They dont sell wigs anymore. The store manager scoffed at me because i was looking for a wig.

Absolutely horrible!!! They had no idea what Grandiose mascara was. Nor were they even gonna look if they had it in stock. Then my daughter asked about a glitter that was sold in the drug store section the girl working told my daughter she knows nothing about the drug store makeup. Well she knew nothing about the high brand makeup either!!! Not to mention she was so rude about it and the store was a absolute mess!!!! That store needs to be revamped!!! And the employees should know about the makeup being sold there!!!

Walked in looking to refresh my make up stash and start from scratch, knowing this was going to be a quite pricey haul. Some of the products I have been using, I was not happy with and wanted to some advice from a professional. I walked up and down the make up aisles looking at products for a good 20 minutes hoping to pick the brain of some employees on products I was interested in. In that time maybe 2 or 3 employees were in the same area, talking among themselves about another employee, what their plans were this weekend, and were all applying makeup on themselves, redoing their lip gloss, gossiping, greeting another employee who walked over and gawking over her hair. But not one of them asked me or the other three customers (one in a wheelchair) in that area if we needed help. I seriously thought to myself what if I was secret shopper . I was waiting for someone the whole time to just ask if I needed help so I could ramble off the list of products that I was interested in and they could have lied and said they were great and I would have bought them. So just as I was giving up and just going to purchase the two products I had in my hand already, another employee in a white jack (assuming a make up artist) came over from out of the blue and asked if I needed help. Explained to her what I was looking for and in 5 minutes she helped me find an amazing foundation I am in love with along with multiple other things I had questions about. IN 5 MINUTES of probably the whole 30 minutes I spent in there having to listen to the other employees personal Drama. So THANK YOU lady in the white coat. You never know who is in your store, and how much money you are losing for your store just by simply not saying Hi, How are you.

I thought booking a consult at a somewhat respectable beauty store chain would equal professional conduct among the employees, safe and clean facilities, and general good service... but I thought wrong! After making an appointment over the phone for eyelash extension consults, I came in well before my time, only to be sitting in their salon for 20 MINUTES completely ignored by the staff. Staff was also extremely rude and treated me like garbage. Once i was taken into the dingy backroom, with esthetician Kathy, it was obvious she had no idea what she was doing as she not only was handling the eyelashes with her bare, unwashed hands, she was using DIRTY ALREADY USED TWEEZERS to pick the lashes up. I was treated as if i was just a walk-in rather than a costumer with a prebooked appointment. Because this was my first time getting them done, I wanted a half set rather than a full, much to Kathys disappointment, so she refused to give me the details and even had the nerve to tell me it would look bad and that i should just go for the full set, which was majorly overpriced. She only had a before picture to show me, which was completely unprofessional. I am generally blown away at this experience as she clearly had no clue what she was talking about when it came to the specifics of the lashes themselves... Save yourself and go somewhere else for anything beauty related as this place IS UNQUALIFIED!! Wish i could give less than 1 star... All in all, absolutely terrible, do NOT recommend!
I’m surprised we have an Ulta this big here in middletown. I do love Ulta, but they are frequently out of items i use unfortunately. There’s another store i also go to and nothing is ever out of stock, so i think it’s just an issue with this location.I did have a serious issue with a staff member and an assistant manager at this location once, but when i complained to corporate they bent over backward to make it right, and treated me very well. I haven’t had any issues since then.
The staff is so helpful here, way nicer than the location in Harriman.
I was there with my girlfriend. Working in sales myself I was unhappy with the state of the store. There were shelves in disrepair, testers were broken, or just missing and the staff felt like they didnt want to be there.

Ulta in Middletown, NY is horrible. Every single time I have booked an appointment, I arrive early to be told that the stylist is running behind and I’m not talking about a few minutes either. Booked an appointment yesterday in person for today, got there 15 mins early and was told my stylist was running 40 mins behind. Seriously, you guys need to do a better job at booking your appointments because today was the last straw for me. I won’t be returning for any services.

They wont accept their broken make up because its empty. Obviously its empty, the top was broken and it blew up all over my purse and I had to throw out the purse, I at least wanted my $42 back for the crap foundation. The manager refused the return. I had $200 worth of things I was about to buy until she did that. Im only going to Sephora from now on.
I like their products. I dont like their prices. Im not sure how many sales associates were working at the time but it seemed like only one was on the sales floor and there were about 3 customers plus myself that were there that werent offered any help.

Being a dedicated Ulta customer for years now an experience today has changed my view on the Ulta Beauty in Middletown, NY. After using Ultas online booking system for a haircut and full head of highlights I arrive to check in for my appointment to be told they didnt have time for me. The stylist Jess that I booked my appointment with told me she tried to call me to tell me about the situation, I did receive the calls and attempted to call back but was put on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up. Jess told me that a customer was giving her a hard time so she bumped her appointment back, bumping mine back an hour and a half and downgrading to only a haircut. I felt like my time and money didnt matter to the Ulta Beauty in Middletown, NY and wont be looking to making an appointment or shopping there anytime soon.

My friend and I walked into the store and were IMMEDIATELY racial profiled. Everywhere we walked we noticed an employee follow. Only 5 minutes into the store as we were just walking around browsing we heard the loud speaker call for L.P (loss prevention, store security).My friend and I werent sure if they were specifically following us because there were other customers but then again the employees were primarily focused on us. I never felt more uncomfortable walking around in a store before until this day. My co worker and I felt the need to talk around with our purses wide open just in case they thought we were stealing which isnt ok. My co-worker still ended up going through with her purchase just to somewhat prove the employees wrong & ease any doubt of us stealing.Even after we left the store we went right next door to the Chipotle & as we were paying for out food we Noticed the same L.P from the Ulta store followed us into chipotle. After this whole scene my friend and I both agreed to NEVER shop at Ulta mainly the Middletown location ever again & will make sure I let anyone who shops there know about our horrific experience & I will continue to refer everyone to Sephora. `

They Need to have what they advertise in their flyer frustrating that they are starting to remind me of sephora in Jcpenney crystal run advertising but never have what your looking for.
While I was not impressed that the online booking failed and there was no record of my making an appointment to get my haircut, I was very pleased that a hairdresser was available to cut my hair right away and did a fantastic job.
