Im going to miss this place. It was a bit far from me so I didnt go as often as I wish I could have but every time was great. Tenzin and others were always so friendly and welcoming. A cozy little spot with an excellent game library and yummo snacks. I might just miss having fresh cookies while playing board games more than anything else. 😋F U COVID-19!

Amazing place to visit and learn to play a huge library of tabletop games. I didnt know what table top games were before visiting and keep learning there are so many different types from classic board games to card games and more. You can play games that are under 30 minutes or tackle ones that take hours. Staff are always great teachers and will walk you through how to play. Highly recommend their cookies and hot chocolate for a snack while you play!

Just stopped by to pick up a boardgame but I was greeted at the door, it seemed lively and he had food at the front. People also came by just to chat with the guy which is a good sign.

Great selection of board games and if youre unfamiliar with them they will teach you new games. Low key and great space. Kid friendly and adult friendly. Plenty of seats and good food to go along with the games.

Such a great spot to get together and play games with friends. The first time I stopped in I was invited to play a game with a couple i’v never met. There is something to be said about an experience that brings communities together. The staff is helpful and extremely friendly. I can’t wait to go back.

Table space is very affordable at $5 and comes with a very wide selection of games to play. Decor is pleasant and the place smells wonderful when they spark up the oven to make cookies. The other players there were friendly and my group even got a good recommendation from a regular for a game to play. Definitely will be looking to return.

The Board Room is a great place to meet friends, relax for a bit, and have a great time. They offer a small menu of reassessments for those who would like a snack as well. They have a ton of choices to choose from so you will never be bored.

A great place to hang out with friends or spend time with family. The snacks are made to order. I recommend the cookies! They have lots of games to choose from and host nerdy events like Magic the Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons.

We come here regularly, maybe once a month. Lots of great games, and delicious cookies to enjoy while playing. We have brought our kids here, and we also meet up with friends. The place is suitable for both. Friday nights are super busy, otherwise weve had good luck.

Friendly staff and options for food, but their games for sale are incredibly limited. Based off of a search through Maps, i expected it to be a game store, not a game cafe. I understand that there was a miscommunication, but when something is advertised as a game store, I expect more than 50 games to be for sale.

Perfect atmosphere for playing new board games, and the 5$ fee for table time is totally worth it for their huge selection of games. Yummy food that isnt cheap in price or quality adds to the atmosphere and experience.Tenzin is a really cool host and the magic the gathering events are friendly and accessible, and the community that seems to frequent this store is inviting and cool too.

Had a great time visiting the Board Room. The guy running it, I think his name was Tristin, was super nice and gave us some great suggestions on games - they have TONS. Everything from the classics like Monopoly to some really abstract ones Id never heard of. Really great folks, trust that youll have a fun, affordable night out if you visit.

This is a board game Cafe where you pay a couple bucks to get in and then once here and you get to play all the board games you like for as long as you like the food is pretty great and the hosts were super helpful and friendly in terms of learning board games. Highly recommended

This place is just a great idea, in a great centralized location. Very modest at an entry of $5 per person and that covers from open to close. They have a massive selection of table and card games to play or you are free to bring your own. They also do tournament days and have snacks/refreshments. A nice hang out spot to play a few games with friends.

Staff was very nice and knowledgeable about the games. Always willing to sit down and teach you a game. A wide array of different people as well, families, young kids and older as well. The food was good for them not having a full kitchen.

I moved from the northeast this spring 2017 and miss The Board Room. Always brought my grandson when he visited. Its affordable; we snacked; we played games. When we added his parents, it just multiplied the fun. It was nice to have access without having to personally buy a load of games. We also got to play games wed never seen before. I dont think we ever stayed less than 2-3 hours. The guests rotate in and out enough that there is always room for more. Definitely a find.

I had a great time. First time at a game bar... Drinks were tasty, inviting atmosphere, and system was really easy to rent and use, even though I dont know anything about video games. I played smash brothers with a big group of people and even though I was terrible, people were supportive.

It isnt just a place to buy games (which the tag Game Store suggests), but also a place to play them. For $5 per person, folks can come in and play any of a selection of literally hundreds of games. My only complaint is that food and drinks can run somewhat pricey.

I have lived in Middletown for nearly three years, The Board Room has consistently provided a safe and healthy space for tactical, and sometimes wacky, fun.

My girlfriend and I came across this place by coincidence the week we decided to learn how to play Magic. They were participants in a Magic open house event which welcomed newcomers like us to the game with a starter deck and how to play guide. The staff and other players there were incredibly friendly and helpful, and even demonstrated how to play by having a mock round for us to watch, explaining step by step how the cards and their effects work and resolve. They also offer some incredible baked chocolate chip cookies, it is the ultimate place to nerd out and snack at. We will be going back whenever we can, if I could rate higher than 5 stars I would! The interior is welcoming and clean, and you can pick up anything you need to play several games. Did not see any Yugioh merchandise though.

Has a large selection of games to choose from. The try a new game Tuesdays are pretty great.Fairly small space, so it can get pretty loud for multiple games at once.Food selection is pretty sparce.
