The showroom staff, Cathy and Bill were wonderful. Matthew the installer was a true craftsman, HOWEVER if you envision a beautiful quartz or granite countertop with as few seams as possible CHECK THE WORK ORDER. I assumed after spending almost $5,000 on the countertops there would be beautiful expanse of quartz, and not a ‘patchwork’ of 5 pieces. CHECK FOR SEAMS ON YOUR WORK ORDER. I had chosen a ‘suede’ finish quartz, and as you can see from the photograph because the countertops were not cut with as few seams as possible, the peninsula, which runs in a different direction looks a different color, much like suede does if it is brushed up and down rather than in one direction. I was extremely disappointed and had reached out asking to speak with the owner regarding these concerns, however, there was no contact by him made with me, which, surprised me after reading Jason’s story printed on the back of the company folder. So much for buying ‘local.’ Instead of the countertops being the ‘piece de resistance’ of my new beautiful kitchen, they are an embarrassment. One very disappointed customer.
While our sales person Bill was nice and helpful we were very disappointed with the error on our sink cut out and the lack of post-install support. One of the things they require when they come out and take the measurements for the template is the sink, which they take with them to make sure the hole is cut correctly. So I was quite surprised when the technicians, who were nearly done with the install, had to uninstall a section to take back to their shop to have it cut again because the sink wouldnt fit.Once the counter was finally installed, my wife and I installed the backsplash. In the process we had an issue with some grout hazing that they were completely unable to help us with. Not only that but the technician we were told to talk to who had the most experience wouldnt return our calls and then their owner wouldnt return our calls either.Very unprofessional.
Beware of inappropriate install and lack of customer service to make it right. After being accommodating with this company on our time line, which was extended due to the delay in slab delivery, I would have hoped for better customer service with my disapproval of the install of this very expensive product. Although I am very impressed with the quality of the quartz tops, the install was not correct leaving more than 1/2” gap between the tops and the wall. Not only unappealing to the eye, but also all around poor quality of install. Whether this was caused by an inaccurate template job or lack of appropriate communication it resulted in a very poor final product and I will unfortunately be taking my business elsewhere in the future.
With the disclaimer that I worked for the company for some time before moving out of state, it can be appreciated to get an inside perspective. The company is like working in a family, and customers are treated like theyre part of the Stone Specialists family; every staff member will always have time to hear out your concerns and help you reach the goal youre trying to achieve with your remodel.Stone Specialists Inc does everything in house, giving the company direct over-site of the products that are being sold to you. Also, there is no hidden costs thatll come up later in the process; staff will always be up front with you on your cost and product. Theyre truly there to help you!
Recently underwent a complete kitchen remodel, purchased and had granite countertops fabricated and installed by Stone Specialists. We went to at least 6 different stone installers just looking early on in the process, and were immediately impressed with Bridget and Stone Specialists.Bridget assisted with stone recommendations (we ended up going to a warehouse near Detroit to select the exact granite what we wanted and Stone Specialists did the rest), faucet selection, and sink selection.Love, love, love the stone. The installers were awesome. Very careful, clean, and professional.Bridget and other Stone Specialist employees provided great communication that kept us informed throughout the entire process from the initial visit, procuring the stone, templating, fabrication, and installation. We are very glad we chose Stone Specialists! Would highly recommend them if you are considering stone installation.
We used Stone Specialists out of Midland for our granite counter tops in our new construction home. The staff was very helpful throughout the entire process from start to finish. Communication, professionalism, turnaround time, and the install were all top notch. I was very impressed with the install how they took great care of our flooring and cleaned up nicely. The end product looked fabulous. Great company to work with - highly recommend.
We ordered and paid for a countertop and told the saleswoman we needed ASAP. Brought a template with all measurements at time of order. Got a phone call from the saleswoman days later saying she had some questions about the order (meaning our order had not yet been placed). After trying to contact her for multiple days we finally got ahold of her. She said we would have to have someone come out and measure so they could do a template (for a fee). This was only a simple 3 foot countertop and all measurements had already been given to them. It was at that time we decided it was best to ask for our money back since nothing had been done with our order after a lengthy amount of time. They reluctantly said ok. After about a week of phone calls and more run around we were finally mailed a check. They took it upon themselves to keep a portion of our payment even though they did absolutely nothing with our order. They called it a “cancellation fee”. After doing NOTHING with our order. It was canceled because they didn’t hold up their end of the transaction. I called multiple times to try and resolve this but they are rude and very unhelpful. I also emailed TEN times with no reply. I have done everything to try to resolve this and avoid writing this review but they are unwilling to even reply.Their customer service leaves lots to be desired.Response to their reply- our timeline was NOT “a few days”And don’t blame the USPS for not returning my calls or emails. That’s ridiculous. And yes, you should return the 2% you kept. You did zero work on my order. You didn’t even process the order a week after I paid in full.
Went in Saturday September 19th to get a countertop for our bar. Brought in all the measurements, drawn out and everything. Bridget asked all sorts of questions to make sure they had all the right measurements and everything. Picked out a piece of granite. Said we were good to go, we were kind of in a hurry to get the countertop. We paid in full. She said she would send in the measurements on Monday the 21st. She called me on Monday and left a voice mail. I called back Tuesday, which was her day off apparently and nobody else knew what she called for. She called me back Wednesday to tell me there was more stuff we had to do in order to get the countertop cut, so nothing was done at all for our bar top. We told Bridget nevermind because we were in a hurry to get it. I requested my money back, which shouldnt have been a big deal because she hadnt done anything yet. However, they decided to keep a 2% cancelation fee. My husband called and spoke to their accountant who informed him she would return the money they were keeping for doing nothing. We have yet to receive all the money we paid for stone specialists to do NOTHING. So be careful, theyll steal your money.
Stone Specialists did a great job. They were orientated to detail and the job was done professionally. The cost was right. I highly recommend them!!!!
I took my mother in to pick out granite for her new condo. She wasnt being the easiest person to work with, but the woman we worked with couldnt have been nicer or more polite, regardless. To top it all off, the owner came and shook my hand and offered myself and mother a cup of coffee.
Even though they had just moved that week, the store was well-organized and the staff was helpful and friendly.
I was critized about having quartz in my kitchen. The young man had nothing good to say about it. He pushed granite.
Great staff Thanks again!!!
