Being a first timer with a guitar, I called ahead to get details on the cost of guitar strings and a guitar winder tool and the gentlemen who answered the phone was very pleasant and accommodating. In situations such as these, a simple phone call with such hospitality makes a world of difference when it comes to my intent to shop at any given business, and the phone call alone had me very happy, excited even, to make my purchase at this establishment. Upon arrival, I was greeted politely by a woman with a smile and a very down to earth vibe about her, while talking to an elderly patron. I happened upon them as he was telling a wonderfully remarkable story of his interactions with one ZZ Top band member over a number of years. I found myself invited into the conversation by the lady and topics flowed from the previously mentioned to family, the purchase that I was pursuing, thoughts on the state of mind for those making bad decisions over parenting their children, back to family and then to professions. All this while she dealt with the card reader acting up, apologetic as she dealt with the all-too-common plight of technologic faults that plague us all on a daily basis. Naturally, I was more than happy to wait. As a hospitable, conversational and friendly atmosphere is more than sufficient to make me happy to wait. This wonderful establishment provided that readily. I highly recommend this place as they also have a wonderful selection of guitars and related tools, accessories and services to accommodate even the very basic of beginners such as myself. I will definitely be returning for all of my guitar needs.

Spectacular service and friendly employees on the phone and in store. I showed up a bit later than planned and due to weather they were closed. The guy inside asked what I needed and checked out my guitar quickly. Absolutely didnt need to and I would have come back tomorrow, but was immensely appreciated. Ill be back very soon to buy an instrument and get more advice and work from them. Id give 6/5 if I could from the experiences Ive had thus far.

This place is AWESOME. First the owners let me in early so I didn’t have to wait, their products are top notch and the service was second to none. They talked me out of changing all my strings and replaced the one that was broke, they fixed my pickup switch and talked me out of a Marshall and into this awesome Vox that was cheaper. Great store and even better people running it. Thanks again.

Had an old Hondo repaired a few years back!This wasn’t a special guitar till Guitarstar repaired it! Happy to report years later this guitar is still amazing!

Bought a used fender strat and a marshall amp there today. You would never even be able to tell that the guitar was used, it looks brand new and was setup perfectly!! The amp is also excellent and overall very happy with my new setup and very pleased with their customer service and julie was very polite and helpful! Thanks so much! Highly recommend!!!!

Outstanding business! My niece is wanting to join the band this upcoming fall and wanted to get a head start now in figuring out what she wanted to play. I had done business with Ben and Julie (the owners) previously for bass guitar and knew that they would be a great source of info in introducing my niece to music. They have a huge selection of instruments for all styles, experience levels and tastes. I stop in once a week just to say hello and often leave with advice from Ben and Julie, both musically and personally. Great people, great store, great fun.

Best people and store in all of Texas and I say that being from Houston and having been all over. Im glad I chose to stop in when i first moved to Midland. Ben has consistently remembered my name since my first visit and Ive never left that store without feeling more than satisfied, even if for a 50 cent pick, by the attention and care ive received. These are genuinely good and sincere people who care and the value i attach to that far surpasses that of any other music store else ive ever visited.

I bought a beautiful Les Paul for my son on his birthday. Ben and Julie were very helpful and patient with my total ignorance with the subject matter. They seem like real nice folks and have the talent and expertise to assist any level of guitar knowledge and the products they sell are first rate.

I was recently on tour with my band, and was in the area. I needed to purchase a new Gibson acoustic, so I decided to stop at guitar star. The people in the store seemed very nice I was just a little put off. It might have just been a bad day, but I wasn’t as pleased with the store, my hope were very high considering all the awesome reviews. Probably won’t be going back in to guitar star. But again it might have just been a bad day. Overall midland was great and I’m excited to come back.

I went in for a set of strings and ended up listening to some very good guitar stories. Ben is a guitar player and the shop is his day job. He and his wife Julie run a home-style business with kids and other pets frequently underfoot, and that creates a real nice atmosphere. I love this place!

Ben, the owner, and his wife whose name I cant remember are very nice down to earth people who were very accommodating. I had a question about a problem I was having with my amplifier and Ben gave me some good, honest advice. Not only was the service very good, but I thought their prices on guitars were absolutely fair and not outrageously marked up like most small music stores. Excellent place!
