As other reviews have noted, Folger will bill you for something thats out of stock, then not ship it for months, at which point the chargeback period from your credit card has expired (typically 60 days), so if your order has a problem you dont have a recourse through the payment processor.And as they also noted, Folger Tech doesnt respond to emails at the [email protected] address, which is the only contact email provided. I tried three times to contact them regarding the shipping delay and then missing items before writing this review.So you may order 20 bearings (10x of two types) and find that 9 of them were missing (see photo). And you wont be able to get it fixed because theyll just ignore any attempts to contact them about it.If your order doesnt ship soon after you place it, I recommend sending one email to check status, give them a few days to ignore you, and then file a chargeback.Dont bother saying Oh I know supply chains and shipping are crazy right now with the global pandemic, Ill cut them some slack because all youll get is a partially missing order and screwed out of your money.I see some positive reviews mentioning nice people and in store pick up, so Im guessing the average review score is inflated by local shoppers. Dont shop online here.Id give zero stars if I could, but one stars the best I can do.
I wanted to get into the 3D printing hobby but I didnt have thousands of dollars to throw at it. Little did I know not 5 minutes down the road was Folgertech. I purchased their FT5 and have been beyond happy with the printer and the prints I get off it.Folgertech has become my go to place for anything related to 3D printing. Their prices are really second to none and their staff is awesome.I would and have highly recommended them to friends and people.
I have Owned my 2 Prusa i3 aluminum kits for about 2 years now. I can honestly say that I have been VERY pleased with both units. My Girlfriend and I are BOTH into the hobby now, thus getting the second unit. We have THOROUGHLY enjoyed tinkering with these 2 little units in our tiny home, and we have made THOUSANDS of prints on each unit. If Properly built and maintained, you will certainly get what you pay for in a FolgerTech unit.I have only ever had one item in the 30 or so orders I have placed that wasnt right. A Scratched linear rod. Something that kinda needs to be perfectly smooth to work properly.The person who took my RMA was a little dismissive and condescending.It was basically a cmon guy its a scratch kind of attitude, but it wasnt like he was mean, as he did replace my item without too much hassle and got it to me in 3 days... Hence the 5 Stars. Not everyone rubs everyone the right way all the time. I can live with that. I’m looking to resolve my issue, I previously ordered a 3-D printer April 6 from Folgers technology’s company.I was billed and issued an order number, the add stated 4 to 6 weeks out for packaging.Additionally I paid extra for expedited shipping.I have made numerous attempts at contacting Folgers tech via email. With no correspondence to my messages.I have tried numerous emailing to both [email protected] / [email protected] with no reply.Website states now out of stock and closed during the COVID-19 pandemic.This was not so when I made my purchase, funds already transferred via credit card.It’s been three months now since my order was placed. If I don’t hear anything in response to this email it will be my final email to this company.My next email will be to BBB in request that an open investigation is made with Folgers technology’s company as to its practices in retail business.If this order was not able to be filled an email stating this and/or whatever issues this company was having that made it incapable of fulling my order an a full refund should’ve been issued to me. This would’ve been all that was needed for a good business practice.Thanks
0 stars!!!!!! On January 18, 2020 I ordered an FT-6 with all the bells and whistles for $819.99 plus $83.16. It is now June 8, 2020 and the last time I have ever heard from them was in March, telling me that my order will be in the next batch of shipments. Ever since then I have sent emails that have never been answered. I went to BBB April 9, to which they did not receive and replies from Folger Technologies. I have reported this to the Federal Trade Commission, but no answer yet. My next step is to take them to court for theft of $903.15 and breach of contract. Good luck getting any good customer support from these thieves.
I too ordered a printer on march 13, the money was taken from my account on that date. No correspondence since. After many emails I finally got BBB involved, they could not get any response from them either. I emailed and phoned again numerous times. tech support, orders all of them. Nothing, so I now have my bank involved to get my money back. Covid stinks but you would think they could have emailed their customers. NEVER BUY FROM THEM.
I have ordered from here twice in 2 years. I would have ordered from them more but I needed some specific parts that they didnt have or they were out of stock. For comparison, I am writing this review with ZYLtech, Amazon, AliExpress, and Filastruder in mind.Also note, at the time of this review, we were in the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thus, I gave them some extra time before I said anything. However, there was no communication via the website or their Facebook page about shipping delays, picking delays, or anything. So while yes, many things could have happened, they did not let customers know any information.Great things:- Prices, nearly everything is very competitive, if not the best on the market.- Quality, relatively decent. Everything works, just about what youd expect for the price, if not slightly better.- Location, very close to me but I have never gone as they dont have a storefrontThings that are not great:- Inventory management, read more- General Customer service, no email, no phone, no way to contact anyone- Lack of transparencyOn inventory management:I take the In Stock on their website with more than a few grains of salt. This last time I ordered, it took over 2 weeks for a package to ship (note: the package has not been delivered as of this review). This is a short time to complain relatively to what their Facebook reviews say. I had ordered my items with the knowledge that their website said that they were in stock. A few days passed, I decided to order the parts somewhere else. Since the parts did not ship, I emailed the [email protected] email address and received nothing back from them.A few days after the initial email, I sent more emails regarding the cancellation of my order.A couple of days after the follow-up emails, again, with nothing from Folgertech, I issued a chargeback on my account. You would expect to hear from them but I received nothing.A little more than a week later, I received a notice that my order has been shipped.On customer service:Read above. No communication with the customer at all. The latest post on their Facebook page is from November 26, 2019. They do not have a phone number, which is fine if they answered their emails but they do not do that either.Heres the thing, I want to support them. Theoretically, if they shipped my orders on time, they would provide shipping times as fast if not faster than amazon and much cheaper than zyltech, amazon (sometimes), and filastruder.In their defense, they do not list a shipping time frame but that information asymmetry should indicate that they cannot tell you a shipping frame.I would personally rather have all their parts out of stock and then rush to order them when they do come in stock than wait around without my money where I could spend it somewhere else and get my items in a timeframe that I decide.This company is not a 5 star business but it is also not a 1 star. If it were not for the breach of trust, I would probably continue to shop here and put up with long lead times but the lack of accountability has destroyed all hopes.

In all of my experiences at Folger Tech, they have been extremely helpful and customer oriented. Also, their prices are extremely inexpensive, but their products are far from cheaply made. For anyone looking for a go to store for their 3D printer needs, I personally recommend Folger Tech.
You can not beat the value of FolgerTech if you are looking to step into larger scale 3D printing. I purchased the FT-5, and am very happy I did so.The only note of caution I would give potential buyers is expect to need a moderate level of mechicanical knowledge to build these devices once you bring them home. They are near 1000 pieces.
Placed an order April 18th. Have not received my order nor have they contacted me after multiple emails. Filed with BBB and will fraud dispute through my bank.
Did a in store pick up for a reprap prusa I3. Great deal for a reasonably sized reprap and they have instructions online for assembly. The parts were all fair quality though I found myself stripping a few screws. May have just been because Im rough on things.Beware to enter in from the correct door, I entered through the back by accident and think I scared the lady and her dog.
