The butcher was really helpful, kind and patient enough to answer my several questions as this was my first time visiting them. Tons of variety, youll never bored finding your fav meat here.

Pape meat is my favorite butcher in bay area, they have traditional and modern selections of steak, from lovely dry-aged ribeye to top grade japanese A5 wagyu. Price is very reasonable given the quality of the meat and all staff are very nice. Also, their fresh sliced prosciutto has so much layer of aroma and flavor, excellent quality.

Im so glad that I was introduced to this amazing butcher shop. Great selections of meat and seafood, very friendly and helpful staff. Extra bonus that they vacuum seal your meats for you if you plan to sous vide.Worth the drive from SF and have been back every couple of weeks.

I always get excellent service at Pape Meat Co. If you dont see something you want, they will make it up for you. The quality of the meat, fish and chicken and specialty items like rabbit are top notch.

Dry aged bone in ribeyes!They will season with salt and pepper, rosemary, a little A5 beef suet and then vacuum seal it for sou vide.Wagyu Tomahawk was amazing too.What a deal!

High quality of meat, and friendly employees with great expertise. Long line outside the store during lunch hour/weekends but its worth the wait. Able to buy authentic Japanese wagyu beef with high marble score.

Great selection of meats, reasonably priced. Not as large as a seafood variety but still pretty good, too. Very nice selection of wines within the store too.

Top notch butcher shop with very friendly staff. They carry Japanese beef here, which is awesome. The liquor/wine store attached has really extensive selection of wine whiskeys and some beers. They also have a good selection of alcohol from Japan and happily refer you to other stores/sellers if they dont have it. Super friendly and customer service from people that actually care and take the time to help--which is becoming increasingly hard to find...

The only place I trust to get good meat. I always pick up my filet mignon here and the fish has always been fresh. Its definitely worth the trip to this spot.Worth mentioning is the truffle butter they sell here. The price is great and its crazy good.Edit: Im going to go out on a limb here and say everything is good here. Chilean Sea Bass, pork tenderloins, NY steak and dry aged, bacon, pork belly, chicken breast, and the giant prawns. I seriously no longer buy meat any where else. You can even get pig back fat!

Papes consistently has the best meat available on the peninsula. Great dry aged steaks, Hawaiian ribs, homemade sausages, pork, chicken, seafood. You name it. Be prepared to pay for quality! Worth every penny.

A great butcher! You will find great cuts of meat that are hormone free and grass fed. The team is very friendly and always prepares great packages for you. They also carry chicken and seafood. Its a beautiful selection of meats and fish. They have a wine and limited charcuterie section. A little but pricey but good selection. Team needs to know a little bit more about the wines and proper pairings but I found the selection is good. All California based. Oh, and remember to pick up a fresh loaf of sourdough bread! Its delicious!!! Enjoy, its a great experience

Super friendly at 7am! Only place you should go if youre looking for quality. Great prices considering the selection and when you want that restaurant style meal, paying a fraction more is worth it!

Lots of selection, great staff, and consistently the best tasting meat around. The employees are always friendly and happy to share their knowledge and tips. The freezer also includes things that are harder to find at the grocery store (duck, rashers).Dont miss the jalapeño cheddar sausage, dry-aged ribeye, and filet mignon.

Theyll help you pick out a cut thats right for you, and they do so with patience and a smile.As far as the product, Ive never had anything I didnt love. Favorites include the aged rib eye and the house-made sausage.Dont forget to stop by the fridge case for duck fat, livers, and other not-always-available-at-Safeway items.

This is hands-down the ONLY place in the Bay Area that is still an authentic butcher shop. Holidays like Christmas can be very very busy, so I advise ordering for pickup at least 1-2 days before otherwise parking can be impossible and the line will go round the block. The beef in particular is simply the best, you cant go wrong here!

First of all, the staff here are top notch. They are knowledgeable, friendly and would make any cuts and marinate you want. Excellent place to come for BBQ or camping trips. The space feels clean, and now has a huge wine section. They also do dry aged steaks. Why would you pay top dollars to go to a steak house when you can come get your own cut and grill it yourself?

This store is an absolute blessing for meat lovers. Extremely reasonable prices for absolute top quality meat. I come for the japanese wagyu and picanha.

This is definitely my place for lamb. Ive come here every year for the past 10 years. Its well worth the drive from San Jose. The guys are top notch. I enjoy coming. Ive watch them grow from a little deli/meat counter to this beautiful upscale market. Perfect for Millbrae. Ill be there this week for my Easter Lamb.

Go for the wagyu

First time in and Guy greeted us warmly and was very knowledgeable and educational. We bought a birthday gift for a friend (picking up an aged hunk-o-meat later this month) & a 21 day aged rib eye for us to test - we followed Guys instructions and had the best steak with the easiest prep! Taking some of the Steves special sausage to try with our friends - cant wait!

Amazing quality meat with a good selection. They also have A5 Kobe steaks from Japan. Their seafood selection is also really good. This is my go to place for Dry Aged steaks.

Everything at PAPES is excellent. We have been shopping there, for I would say over 20 years. The meats are top quality, some beef you can get aged, their lamb is excellent, so is their veal. Fish is fresh. Just be prepared to spend a little $$$$.

Ok, found my butcher. Took me a couple years before stumbling into this butcher and wine shop. Very clean space. I purchased my whole organic chicken here and took suggestions from the butcher as to which already pre-marinated chicken breasts I should buy. While, waiting as the butcher cut up my whole chicken and packaged it, I spoke with another butcher cleaning the largest prawns that Ive ever seen in my life! If you are looking on where to buy your seafood or steaks...Come in here!! And, Im sure theyll even help you find the right wine to pair for the dinner that you are preparing.
