I have many antique clocks. Some were my mothers from Germany when she was young. Some I got there when I was young. Others I picked up in Switzerland in 2002. Over the years, Ive had Mount Olympus clock shop care for all of my clocks. Last year they refurbished and rebuilt several that I gave to my children for Christmas. They do a great job. And walking in their shop is like walking into a fairyland.
Love this store! Service is always prompt and responsive, and they have a great selection of good quality items. Im usually in here because Im changing out a watch battery, but Ive also found music boxes, nutcrackers and other items that I love. And I know exactly where Ill come when I eventually get around to buying a really nice wall clock or grandfather clock. :D
This place is great! They replaced my watch battery in a matter of minutes and it only cost $10. I would go there again for sure. In the few minutes it took them to replace the battery I had a chance to glance around the shop and they have some really neat stuff. I was tempted to buy a little music box...maybe next time!
If I could give a lower rating I would. I just left this place and the guy was a complete jerk. I have a cuckoo clock that is not working properly and basically told me I was crazy. Super disappointed. Avoid this place like the plague. Customer service is nonexistent here.
Always fast and accurate service. Great customer service for both large clocks and watches. I am always well taken care of here.
Very honest, professional and quick! They were able to replace my watch band and had a variety of selection to choose from.
Great local business. I have been there a number of times. The employees are knowledgeable and friendly. They sell such wonderful German treasures. Their clock repair is the best you can find! If you have a clock that needs to be fixed, take it to Mt Olympus. You wont regret it!
It took 10 minutes to have my watch battery replaced and very reasonable!
More than worth a visit. I guarentee youll tell at least one other person that day of how cool their shop is. If Willy Wonka had a clock shop it would be this. Solid, quick service.Small businesses are rad!
Excellent company every time I have used them they have been professional and are experts in clock repair.
Very expensive repair shop. Went to Primrose on Stste street and had the same service done for 1/3 of the quoted price at Mount Olympus.
Very nice service item was shipped and in excellent condition I’m very happy with my purchase.
I absolutely love mt.olympus clock shop and highly recommended it . They have the best selection of wall clock and cuckoo clocks I have seen. Joe helped me after my father passed away with a project to remember him by .He found me a old grandfather clock and hung all my fathers stop watches inside . It turned out great .I have bought several wristwatches and a really cool musical wall clock from them with no problems . Plus they are the only shop I trust to repair my watches . I cant say enough about the great customer service and quality products they sell . If you havent been this is a great time to go see all their nutcrackers. Super fun .
My Olympus Clock has the best quality and selection of nutcrackers. I add to my collection every year.
Amazing service, very nice and always helpful
I owned a Rolex for many years, this is the only place in Utah that I would trust to work on any timepiece that you really care about. Wonderful shop very skilled craftsmen. They not only repair but the are watchmakers.
No return policy isn’t a good way to run a business. They have a nice inventory and the staff was nice but when I picked out a clock and was ready to purchase it I happened to mention that if it didn’t fit in the space I would just bring it back...they informed me (thankfully) that they don’t have a return option only exchange. If I didn’t like it and couldn’t find another one then I could just use the store credit for watch batteries....that’s a lot of batteries. I won’t be going back there.
I enjoyed coming here. My 3 year old niece dropped my watch and shattered the crystal. The person at the counter told me it would take about a week. They got it done in 4 days and its beautiful.
I have been taking my fine Swiss watches here for years. Its cheaper than going to the watch retailer for maintenance and repairs.
I have trusted this repair shop for many years and have never been disappointed, including with family heirlooms.Small shop with big experience and wonderful employees.
I had my clock repaired here. The service was great. The employees treat you like family. So friendly. My clock looks like new.
Beautiful inventory. Expert repair for quality clocks. Pleasant staff.
Very polite and knowledgeable. Huge assortment of cuckoo clocks and nutcrackers. You cant find a store like this anymore. Everything is online now. Here at least you can see what you are buying. Worth the drive!
This is a place you need to visit it unbelievable cant wait to get back
A year wait to fix my clock :-( Where did all the clock makers go???
Great place to get authentic German nutcrackers . Order one every Christmas for my wife
Everyone needs a place they can trust to replace a watch battery and not break or ruin your watch. This is the place that you can trust. They were done with my battery replacement so fast, I could only walk around their tiny store once. I will be back, and if you have been here before, you should be back too, if not, you need to start going here.
They were able to repair my cuckoo clock and now it runs great.
They are friendly, knowledgeable and very fair In their pricing. The selection of clocks and authentic german made nutcrackers is the best Ive seen in town.
Fast, efficient and competent.
Took an old school clock to have repaired, they had to replace the mechanism with an updated one, great service, on time repair, worked perfectly, now couldnt figure out how to set it for non daylight savings time, they tried to explain it over the phone but was unable to follow their instructions, so gonna try again, might have to drive up.there and have them.do it, great place, helpful and courteous,
Fast, friendly service! Had my watch battery replaced in minutes!
Good service on anything concerning clocks Watches etc.
Took my Pulsar Y960 there for service. They were able to get it up and running in less than 5 minutes. Absolutely amazing service. Very kind and helpful people.
These people definitely know what they are doing. I brought my papas watch in for a replacement battery, they fixed it on the spot, 10 minutes tops. Then it began to stop when hes take it off at night. I took it in, a spot of oil, and were back in business, no charge. They know whats what with clocks, no doubt!! They explain everything and give you the price straight up before fixing. Love that!
Went here to get my watch band fixed (new pin) & a new battery. Took literally 4 minutes & was $12 for a new battery, installation & new pin for my band. Absolutely best service Ive had in a while! Will always go and repair my stuff here. Other places were telling me upwards of $30+Also its beautiful inside.
I had needed to tune my grandfather clock and called them. Norm did an excellent job, he was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I would most definitely use their service in the future.
I have a old family clock. Not much of an antique but worth a lot to me.He helped me identify the manufacturer and we discussed repairs to get it running again. It turns out fixing the clock was way outside my budget. The gentleman working there was great about telling me exactly what the cost for parts and labor was going to be. He was very transparent and I only wish I could afford to hire him. For now, my clock is right twice a day.
What an absolute treat this store is! I called a few watch shops trying to just get a few links taken off my watch. Some wanted up to $20! They were only $5. But the biggest treat was their shop. What eye candy, so many lovely things I could have stayed for hours. I for sure will return!
This family run store is the most amazing shop I have ever been in! So many beautiful and amazing clocks! I even got special music boxes for all my daughters! Its a magical experience!
Good selection, I had a watch serviced there awhile ago and they did a great job. The price was reasonable too. Friendly staff, which for some reason isnt always the case in watch stores.
Great place for watch repair or replacing batteries.
Wow! Great products, but thats easy to see. Whats not easy to see is the great, friendly service!! I visited for the first time (my wife has been there a couple of times prior) and was welcome immediately with warm smiles. I had a problem with my watch and that got taken care of promptly, and on the house!! Totally unexpected. Thank you!!
Fixed our cuckoo clock that fell off the wall for a very reasonable price. Very happy with their service. They even asked us to wait to pick up for a few days so they could verify everything was working perfectly
Great work on an authentic and antique Cuckoo clock purchased in Germany 25 years ago.
Lots of clocks but I mainly go there when I need a watch battery replaced. Theyre the best price Ive found it SLC and Cory treated me right.
They have been taking care of my Grandfather clock for almost thirty years, and have kept it in fantastic shape. Their prices are comparable to any other place that I have checked, rather you are looking for a beautiful new clock, or have an older family heirloom that needs a little tlc. This is a family owned and operated shop that has been around for a while, and Im sure you will be pleased with the service.
Great customer service!! Clock works perfect!
Ive taken my watches here a few times and have had a great experience every-time. They fix everything fast and get you on your way. They are all really nice too.
This is an addendum to the original review posted below. After my experience with the Mantle clock described below, the grandfather clock mentioned needed some work after a move. Since my mother had had good experiences with Norm on that clock, and he was familiar with it, I decided to take a chance and see if things would turn out differently. I must say that Norm was fantastic. It was like working with an entirely different shop than before. He came to the house right at the appointed time, had everything he needed, and went above and beyond my expectations. His attention to details was terrific and when he was finished, the clock worked perfectly, and has ever since. On top of that, he was a very nice person to work with and I felt the price was more than fair. I would still think twice about having them work on other types of antique clocks, but as far as grandfather models are concerned, I would definitely recommend him. Im upgrading my rating because of him.Original ReviewTwice, over the years, Norm has worked on my parent’s grandfather clock and, by all accounts, did a fine job. I now own it and it works very well. For that reason, I went to Mt. Olympus to have them work on my great-grandfather’s mantle clock. Unfortunately, I was told that Norm didn’t do mantle clocks and my experience with whoever did the work on mine was far from good. After the first attempt, and almost $650, the clock ran extremely fast (gaining 10 minutes in the first 2 hours!), and the chiming was all out of sync. Clearly, they hadn’t even run the clock to see if it was working properly. I took it back to have them try again and while I was standing there, they broke the faceplate loose so I told them they now had to fix that as well. When I got it back the second time, the clock kept better time but now it stopped every hour at exactly 2 minutes to the hour, and chimed 4:00 when it was 1:00. I would restart the clock and set it, and again, at 2 minutes before the next hour, it had quit. This exercise went on for a week until I walked by one day and noticed that, not only had the clock stopped again, but the hands had fallen off! It was clear to me that they either paid no attention to details or had no idea how to fix the clock. I never went back. Instead, I took it to a wonderful shop in Kaysville that I found and he got everything working perfectly, the first time! Mr. Olympus clock shop is a fun place to visit and I really wanted to have a good experience. Sadly, that was not the case. I won’t be having them work on any of my timepieces again. Im giving them 2 stars because Norms work on the family grandfather clock worked fine.
Very Very Nice.
I dropped in simply to get a watch battery replacement while I was visiting from out of town for Thanksgiving, and was delighted to find an extensive display of German-made clocks, nutcrackers, and other wooden holiday ornaments to peruse while I waited--almost like a nutcracker museum! This is a family-owned business, now in its fourth generation, and seems to be a beloved part of the neighborhood.
Fun family owned and operated clock store. They repaired the clasp on my watch band. Good as new. Fun place to browse for gifts. Employees are polite and helpful.
Beautiful items.
They are very professional and have expert specialist. I love seeing and hearing all the clocks on display.
This is a great place. I love going in and looking at all the clocks and nutcrackers. I just had them do a repair on my cuckoo clock and I am very happy with the work they did. I dont think I have had my clock work this well since it was new. They are also very good with my watches I have had several watch batteries replaced and it only cost me $7 a watch.I will keep going back
Had to get a watch battery and this is my go to place. Was nice they stay open until 6 pm. Thanks
Really fun shop! The nutcrackers and clocks are really cool to look at. They do quality repairs and tune ups. Great family owned business. Awesome Christmas lights in the winter.
Worth the drive from Daybreak!! Those with Breitlings will appreciate the savings, as this is a certified shop & getting a battery replaced is a treat here!! ($) 👍The big grandfather clocks, cookoo clocks and German nutcrackers are beautiful. Nice clocks and watches abound. The staff are just really nice nice people !!
Beautiful little shop with amazing clocks and nutcrackers. The gentleman who helped us was very knowledgeable and friendly and was even kind enough to do a quick fix on our clock at no cost. I look forward to going back and purchasing a new Cuckoo clock. 😊
Very helpful friendly staff.
I love this store! We buy nutcrackers here every year. Weve also purchased snow globes, Christmas ornaments and more. Theyve got such a great selection of wooden smokers, nutcrackers, clocks, and more. Friendly and helpful staff!
Norm came to my house and resurrected a grandfather clock. He was very professional and skilled. I will use them for servicing in the future.
Such a wonderful clock and miscellaneous store. We love it. They fixed my music box that hadn’t worked in years. Amazing customer service 😊
Love this place. Been going here since I was a kid. Can spend all day I there.
Lots of options for every price range and excellent customer service!
They have worked on members of my families clocks for years and even my own, even repaired a turn of the century music box for me. Amazing people & service. I have never been disappointed.
They are super nice and the clocks are beautiful.
Lots of great options.
I took my Omega watch to Mt. Olympus Clock Shop after the *only* authorized Omega dealer in Utah could not fix my watch bezel. They were telling me just to send it back to Omega for repair. I tried several other jewelry stores in the area that gave me the same answer as the authorized Omega dealer and I was getting very bummed out.I then stopped by Mt. Olympus Clock Shop on a whim and I was so glad I did. They fixed my Omega within two minutes and handed the watch back to me and said, have a great day, no charge. That is customer service at its best. I will be going back to Mt. Olympus Clock Shop for all of my watch repair period.Fantastic service!
The best place In Utah the have both clock repairs and to by nutcrackers.
Worst service I have ever had. On June 3rd I took our cuckoo clock in for repair. After about three weeks we called to see if it was ready for pick up. We were told that it would be three months before it would be finished. We were not told this as we dropped it off. Also the cost would be $340 I only paid $300 when I bought it. On August 20th they called, our clock was finally repaired. I asked WHY it had it taken so long. It seems they have such a back up of repairs and only one person that is THE BEST that they are that far behind. Why not schedule their work. Putting the customer first. They already knew my clock would not be worked on until August. Tell the customer to bring it in on the first of the month and cut the repair time by two months.WILL NOT GO HERE AGAIN
I had my Rolex watch repaired here a few months ago. I was able to talk directly with the watchmaker who trained at Rolex. He was very knowledgeable and it was the best quality service Ive ever received. I wouldnt trust anyone else with my expensive watch!
I have gotten my battery changed at this shop before and they do a good job. However, the last experience I had with them convinced me never to go back, and not to recommend them. I wanted a new band for my watch. I gave them my watch and picked out a band and they told me two weeks. Three months later after many phone calls they still had my watch with no new band and they had no idea when the band was going to arrive. They did not call me once to tell me it was going to take so long and every time I called them all they told me was the band is not it yet, and we have no idea when it will be in. I thought 3 months was a bit long to wait with no answer as to how much longer...I tried multiple times to get my watch back from them and they told me multiple times that they could not give it to me because it was locked up and the watch repair guy is the only one with a key and he is not in. He is never in!!! 2pm on a Friday and he had just left for the day. Anyway, I went in and demanded that they give me my watch back and it some how magically appeared (outside the safe) even though the watch repair guy was gone for the day. I dont trust these guys and they have no sense of customer service!! What a waste of time!!
Super cute shop with some very amazing clocks and very friendly staff
Extremely disappointed with my visit today. Ive lived within one mile of this store for nearly 3 years but had never visited until today. A sign out front mentioned music boxes for Mothers Day and I thought that would be something extra special for my wife. There were 3-4 customers when I walked in so it wasnt that busy. I checked out the 3 displays of music boxes and had a couple of questions as I was not finding what I wanted. I was passed twice by a female employee and a male, who looked to be the owner or manager, glanced at me maybe once. BUT neither greeted me or asked if they could help. I walked around for 10-15 minutes... nothing. I think my problem may have been I stopped by in my work clothes. Slightly muddy boots, jeans and a work shirt with the company name on it. Maybe I wasnt their kind of customer? I was prepared to spend $100 or more. And there was some very nice grandfathers clocks, many nutcrackers and other German Christmas items I may have purchased later. But they lost their chance to have me come back again with their indifference. Store owners lament the lost of business to online stores... Well to me this was a perfect example why the internet is booming and the local shops are declining. To get treated well you may have to come in your Sunday best and have $100 bills hanging out of your pockets
Great place great people
They are fair I paid$10 to fix my watch band and then another problem arose after they fixed it to a unrelated problem they didnt charge me. Got a customer for life.
Great people, and fast service at a good price.Fixed my Omega Seamaster in one day!
Beautiful selection of nutcrackers and decorative clocks. I always go there for watch batteries and resizing my watch band because I figure its worth a little extra to support having that kind of business in my neighborhood.
I am so grateful that there still are people who are experts on clocks. I have old family heirlooms, and thanks to the skill and knowledge of the professionals at Mt Olympus Clock shop, they are still ticking, chiming and showing time.
I just needed links taken out of a watch band. They did it while I waited in charged a reasonable price.
Enjoyed browsing through this shop. They have the worlds biggest nutcracker collection.
Repaired my watch battery on the spot! Quick turn around
Very friendly.Very honest.Very professional.Beautiful clocks and other items.Cant say enough good things about them!
Awesome little shop was able to get my watch pressurized and back to me in a day when they told me 3 days. Where other places would have taken a week
My family has been using Mount Olympus Clocks since I was a kid for all of my grandmothers antique cuckoo and other clocks, for this reason Im now bringing my clocks in here to have them repaired, great job guys!!!
Largest selection of clocks and nutcrackers. Amazing place. Helpful staff.
Have been going there for years. Helpful and knowledgeable.
Very nice and friendly, service is great and reasonably priced and they have a vast array of clocks, watches grandfather clocks and lots and lots of Nick nacks,
Only place to purchase or have your cuckoo clock repaired, top quality service.
Really enjoy the service and clocks in this store
Excellent service, the people that work there are very nice and willing to answer any questions, from now on this is the clock shop Im going to use .
After reading that axe job by the lady and the watch, I HAD to do a review to balance it out!Nobody is perfect. Purchasing parts from a vendor can be frustrating. How common was that band? Anyway, I have done business with Mt Olympus for YEARS now! I have brought work in, and even had them come out to our house to work on a Grandfather clock!I have NEVER had a bad encounter with Mount Olympus! I find them to be PROFESSIONAL and VERY skilled in what they do!In fact I currently have a wall clock in there, less than a WEEK AFTER getting it back from another shop who will go nameless ... other than to say that my wife tried to surprise me, and took the wall clock into a repair shop closer to us in Cottonwood Heights ... nuff said????? I hope to do a FAR different review soon ... on them!Mount Olympus is one of a dying breed: EXPERT clock, watch and anything time related REPAIR!GREAT place (HB is a pseudonym btw!)
Excellent craftsmen and dependable quality.
Super service. They care about good customer service here.
Snobby, and not even interested in repairing my watch. This happened twice in the last 6 years. And then - they quoted $220 dollars just to clean my cuckoo clock I bought in Switzerland for $220. Granted that was 15 years ago but they said all my stopped clock needs was a cleaning at $220. Their Rolex attitude prevails in their customer service, you got buck$$ go there; if you are a Timex/Casio user forget about it!
