I really like shopping here because of the great weekly specials. I also like to get my primal cuts of beef here. The store is always clean and well organized. Whether youre making a quick stop for a few items, or a big stock up trip, its easy to pop in and out. They offer a wide selection of bulk, club size, and food service items that you wont find at the typical club/warehouse store. Their private label products are an excellent value. Produce quality can be hit or miss.I give this store 4 stars because they dont have a bakery, deli, or full-service butcher on-site.

As usual, quick and clean. Never change place of items. Its good. You know where to go to grab what you need. Also has super discounted fresh items for 1 dollar. It can be useful if you need immediate use.

Lot of produce items and good deals. Place is clean and bright. And usually not crowded.

Its not Smart spending your Final days waiting in the checkout lines. Always a looooooong line, one sometimes two cashiers open. Will definitely not shop there anymore. Doesnt matter what time you shop.

Finally a decent clean and well stocked store. I hope they keep so. Good place to get good produce at good price.

Food is great, but customer service at the cashiers is terrible. There is a big guy that is always mean mugging everyone and is in a bad mood. Won’t even greet you and if you greet him he won’t even respond. Also tosses all of your groceries around like he doesn’t care. Management should train him on customer service!Shame on this store

I like going there for groceries nice and clean and calm very friendly customers service.

Several of the clerks wear their face masks below their nose or use them as a chin strap not covering everything. When I ask them to pull them up over their noses before I go into their check station area they look perturbed. Rather than go out in the aisle to signal for the next person to come up to their check station when open several of the clerks also just yell out loudly that they are open (with their masks totally down) spreading lots of aerosol particles I am sure. Their safety practices are very lax compared to those of Safeway’s and Lucky’s. I really like the store but I don’t feel safe going there anymore in these days of covid.

A lot of fresh produce, and bulk products.

Made it in and out pretty quickly - - 7am, not too busy. The green produce always seems a bit spent (past peak freshness) but other items are in pretty good shape. Always very helpful staff... They are happy to check the stock in the back for items that are gone from the (aisle or refrigerator) shelf. I like coming here more than Costco because I can usually find about everything on my list at this one place.

Staff working there don’t seem too happy working there and the Cashiers look especially miserable and barely smile.Update:Just visited the store again and am bumping up my review from 1 to 3 stars for the following reasons:1) Fresh produce looks fresher and more appealing. I even saw a store assistant picking out the overripe fruits and replacing them with newer one.2) The atmosphere feels friendlier as I over heard the same store assistant working at the produce department chatting with customers to show them how to pick tomatoes.3) Advertised weekly special items are now well stocked.4) Cashier’s line is definitely shorter and the cashier even greeted me as I am checking out.I am glad that someone is paying attention and kudos for the marked improvements since my last visit. If they could keep this up, I might even bump up my review another notch or two in my future visits.Past review:1)bait and switch sales tactic. Popular sale items are never restored2) coupons are dotted with many fine prints like minimum price and/or # of item purchases.3) long and slow cashier line even during off peak hours4) confusing item pricing5) depressing atmosphere6) fruits look like they are rotting on the shelvesI have shopped in many Smart&Final stores and this newer store has more room for improvement.

I am somewhat new to the area. Stopped at Smart and final to pick up a couple of items on my way home from work since this is not out-of-the-way like Walmart. I found my items quickly then went to try to check out. There was a line around into the side isle of the store, probably 15 to 20 people and only two check stands open. I left my items in the cart and walked out. I wouldn’t go to Smart and final for anything else but because it is a convenient location. Since they don’t care about their customers time, I won’t bother with this store anymore.

Very bad customer servicesI live in Milpitas and really want to support this smart and final on Jackline road which I consider as my local store. Although, so disappointed every time I go here. The cashiers are so slow. They stand there to chit chat and let customers to wait. Not that many customers though and with two cashiers we have to wait. For 10 minutes the line has no one to pay as a cashier keeps chatting with another one who sits next to the door, my husband came over. She has a gut to ask us to wait until to be called to come over the next time.... probably wait for her to finish chit chatting..

Great prices and friendly staff

The store is fairly new, they have some good deals weekly.

Store was closed at 7pm even though store hours say it is supposed to be open until 10pm. Employee saw us walking up to the store and didn’t even bother telling us it was closed. They put a huge black barrier on the door to not allow customers in. If they close earlier they should update their store hours instead of wasting customers time.

I was supposed to buy vegetables and fruits today but they are not fresh and you can clearly see it; the leaves of the vegetables really looks pale and old, the cucumber, the corns are not good specially when you try to dig more you get the bad ones, the peas from the top shelves are really old, etc. I hope you guys sell really fresh vegetables and replace the old ones. There are ways to keep them stay fresh. The store is neat though. You can find easily what you’re looking for and shelves are not empty. Well-stocked. I think you should market more your store to gain more customers. Step up and be creative to get peoples attention to buy to your store. Be competitive. Also, I think your store’s location at Milpitas is a bit hidden.

I visited the store today early in the morning like I tend to to avoid crowds. I live in the neighborhood and shop frequently here. Today may be my last day though. I was picking up items to make dinner this weekend for my sons when they come visit this weekend, and I tend to make something special. I picked up most of the items I needed before getting my meat and they did not have what I was looking for so I asked a clerk in the meat department and he kindly helped me. After some good conversation and banter I went to check out and before I got the the checker a different clerk from the meat department said oh that meat is priced wrong. I said really well the clerk gave them to me from the back and never mentioned anything. He said well the price is higher do you still want them. I said yes i want them for the price they are marked. It is not my fault you didnt correct your price. He said I was right and they should have checked things before giving them out. He spoke to the clerk who was a middle aged caucasian female that said to me she was one of the managers. When I walked up she said so you were given a choice to put them back or pay the full price and I said I was told i was correct and it was their mistake and she tore the stickers off in front of me and said well he isnt a manager and I am. You were given a choice so do you want to pay the full price. I said you can keep it all and walked away and went to Safeway down the street. I have shopped here since they opened and never had an issue until this one and it really left me with a bad feeling for their customer service if this is the manager treating me this way. Other customers were evening saying they should have given It to me at that price. I found out as I was walking out it was from last weeks sale and they forgot to change it which isnt my fault. Hopefully others will have a better experience then I did.

So I had gone to get some groceries with my dad and the entrance was closed and no one came out to say anything so my father had tried entering through the exit and a worker at this location was very rude and say get out of the way which I understand but she was very rude. There should be better service and have at least a worker telling people if they can please wait. I understand its because of social distancing but they way she came off was not OKAY! WILL NOT BE PURCHASING HERE AGAIN!

Good store but very few counters are operational

Staff is friendly though when I asked why they never have diet 7up in plastic bottles. the checker had no answer not did he check. Also do they have a raincheck policy because sometimes they are out of sale items?

Decent selection but some prices are higher on some items versus other grocery stores. Parking was easy. Good wine and spirit selection. Great sauerkraut. Fast checkout with short lines.

Always has a good sale. Just need to check the week ad for the deals.

Produce isnt great 😔

The prices are soooo much better than Safeway as far as fresh produce, canned goods and frozen foods. The meat is all prepackaged, so Ill still stick with Safeway for steaks and fish. Very well organized! Oh and if you need bulk items and dont have a club card, this is your place!Another register or two open would have been nice, but you save the ca$h when you wait in line.Ill will definitely be returning and have already recommended it to a friend by the time I got home.

The produce department was well stocked and they even carry some organic produce. Very important feature for me. I was pleased to note that this store does not smell of the cleaning supplies that the other stores do. A big plus when shopping for food related items.

Good quality and prices. sometimes cheaper than Costco, and much more convenient. staff are nice. when the line is getting long, theyll open a new line. so never saw a long line like in Walmart or Costco.

Pleasantly surprised by this store since I was expecting it to have an old look or strange setup since its a discount grocer. They have a wide selection and clean interior. Lactose free milk is a great price. Their weekly sales have had some great items on sale, better than Safeway pricing. Unfortunately the checkout sometimes is long.

Good selection, miserable place to shop during covid 19. The line to check out went to the back of the store. It took forever to make it to a check stand. Plan your trips here it might be a while.

Its not a bad store, it looks fairly nice. The prices for the most part are not any cheaper than anywhere else and they might not have the same items available from week to week. Every so often they will have good deals on things but it might not be on what you usually use.

Its a good place to work. The co-workers are great. There should be good customers.

Always a long line, like minimum 15 minute wait, the bulk produce and grains/beans is a plus if you don’t have access to a Costco or Restaurant Depot

Ok, this is a critical review. The store is a convenient replacement of Nob Hill, which we miss. Nob Hill was too expensive. Smart and Final has great prices beaten only by Walmart and Costco. It is much easier to get in and out of the store than the previously mentioned store. So why the bad review? It doesnt carry everything, they pack the aisles so two carts cant conveniently pass each other, and there is often a wait at the checkout. They are always friendly and helpful. But I ding them on a few customer oriented items that are import to me. When that improves, five stars.

Bathroom is very dirty. Super! But salesfloor looks fine and neat.

Line was long, but the people kept the 6ft spacing.

This grocery is well stocked, has nice fruits & vegetables, plenty of most everything, and is much faster to park and get in and out than the local Safeway. I pick S&F for 2/3 of my groc shopping. (No pharmacy and no cut flowers at S&F)

Grocery super for locals, its getting better, fresh fruits are better stock, bread and milk are better stock in shelf compare when they open, but dry goods are still lack stock of popular brands, price still need to be more competitive to other local stores

Great prices, awesome selection and i like the bulk items! I go there instead of other stores. You cant beat 6am to 10pm hours.

Great place, stuff that I usually get was not there, had to go to Safeway after the items I couldnt find. But they do have great bulk stuff, some even cheaper than Costco!

There is a great variety of produce sold here as well as meats and other food products. The place was clean and the staff was helpful.

Smart & Final has a lot of the basics in stock at good prices. The checkout line is never fast so I cant ever just make a quick stop there.

I just came from the current store and I must say they have every drink I would ideally have to go into San Jose for but and have food options I havnt even seen anywhere around my surrounding cities. I would highly recommend this store sight to anyone!

I visited on a weekend shortly after the grand opening. I wanted to like the new supermarket in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, it was a terrible experience, and its not the employees fault. The customers are terrible, like Costco, but even less courteous. I couldnt wait to escape.

Clean and organized. Well stocked. Got what I went there to get after work.

Unfortunately, Ive bought fresh on several occasions and I have found them to be spoiled AND in one case rotten. I just go there for non-perishables now.
