I called to ask if they could look over my car following an accident. They contracted the job out to another shop without telling me, continually pushed out the repairs due to ordering the wrong parts, and not knowing when the mechanic they contracted was actually working on the car. When they scheduled a time for me to pickup the car, they were unable to show me most of the parts theyd replaced as they had agreed, they had crushed the rocker panels and pinch welds jacking up the car improperly, and the ODB2 bluetooth code reader Id had in the car was missing. There were also bolts missing from the engine splash guard which I had them replace before leaving. They had not completed the alignment they were tasked to perform and I asked that that be refunded. They complained that they were then making no money after contracting out the job but complied so I could have this service performed elsewhere. I drove to a body shop to get an estimate for the damage theyd caused due to the improper jacking and less than 20 miles after receiving the car on my way home from this estimate, there was a loud bang and the engine began making a loud clunking noise. The repairs they had performed required them to drop the transmission and perform major work on the engine. I called them back and they advised I take the car to the fiat dealership and they would have their insurance sort out the repairs. I called this morning requesting their insurance information to pay for the repairs and missing property and was hung up on after being told that the car was not worth it and they would not be providing me with that contact information. I then received written documentation from the fiat dealership that they suggested I visit stating that the transmission was not properly mounted back in the car. This was repaired and Downtown Auto Body said that they would not pay for this unless I agreed they would not be held liable for the other damages they caused to the vehicle or the missing property.
I am currently working here and to say, from the technicians standpoint, Tonys moral views on business and thoroughness throughout each vehicle that comes in is astonishing. Truly a passionate business that enjoys working on cars and giving extremely professional repairs that come with alot of free work to help keep you on the road and looking clean.Worth taking a look at!
Great place. Needed to get my car in to get a new tail light. The guy there was great at getting me an after market one and installed it right there... took maybe 20 minutes only. Also need to get some touch ups on my car. He said he can easily do it the same day for me. Great pricing and fast!
Was in a fender bender and took my car by for an estimate. Tony was able to quickly take a look at it an give me an estimate. I took it in a few weeks later (after Christmas vacation), and he did a fantastic job for a fantastic price!Knowing what I read from a previous review, I made sure to be proactive and call him for updates. For me the most important thing is a mechanic is trust and Tony has earned it, great guy, great work, great price.I hope I dont have any more fender benders, but if I do Ill be bringing my car here!
Great service, fair and true prices, timely response both email and via phone. Fixed my car in less that 3 days on a holiday weekend, and I did not feel like I was treated any different for being a young women that knows little about cars. Highly recommended!
I got into a (more than a )fender-bender and needed several jobs done on the body, including repairing the front grill, new headlight and banging out the side panel as the passenger door wouldnt open. After taking the car to my regular mechanic, I learned that besides body work, the frame had been bent on the car and also needed to be adjusted.I dropped off the car at Downtown Auto Body and got an estimate right on the spot. I worked with Joey who was very easy to talk to about the car issues and what could be done. Over the next few days I waited very nervously while the car was being worked on. I have had a few bad experiences with mechanics over charging, throwing last minute charges in and overall taking advantage of me because I am a woman. When I called to check on things and re-confirm the pricing, Joey thoroughly explained everything that was being done to the car and why it was being done, as well as give me a solid confirmed estimate on the charges. He left me feeling very confident that they were doing a great job on all of the repairs on the car. I felt really relieved after talking to him on the phone and was happy he took the time to explain everything. The day I picked up the car I was really impressed with the great job that they had done. Though they needed to keep the car a few days longer on the frame rack due to the frame being bent so far, they managed to get it back on track, made all of the repairs and even cleaned up some scrapes on the bumper for no extra charge. Best thing was that the costs came to nearly $1000 cheaper than I and my boyfriend had initially assumed it would cost.
Quick and easy. I will be returning if needed in the future.
Great place that does good work at a decent price
Needed a quick buff and touch up on my car. They were able to get me in the next day and did a fantastic job. Very fair pricing and are honest about the time taken on the job.
Small shop. Reasonably priced with good work.
Ive been introduce to this place but it gives me very bad experiences. I asked them to help me install the new grill, they did, but they broke my parking sensor !! When I request them to fix it, they just be very inpatient and told me they cannot fix it ! Its like WTH?! You broke it and now telling me you cant fix it? I mean seriously, bad customer service, bad efficiency but low costs. It is a good place which got low costs but It is not your option if you want to get a good customer service and decent works!
Excellent customer service!
Nice service
Downtown Auto is exceptional; I took my car there many times and have always experienced professional service at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend Tony at Downtown Auto.
My car was broken into and I called downtown for an estimate for a replacement window. I was pleased to find out that they could get me an OEM window shipped and installed the next morning for much lower price than competitors. They replaced my window the next morning but, I noticed there was still glass left in the driver door from the break in. I was told that they werent able to get the remaining glass out of the window and that Id have to just wait it out (whatever that means). On the drive home from downtown I noticed the window wasnt aligned completely and that when the window was rolled up and down it was very squeaky. I went back to Downtown a week later and I was told they would take a look at the window. I scheduled a date and time with one of the mechanics.I came back to Downtown during the scheduled date and time and was told by another mechanic (Tony, I believe) to reschedule another time for them to look at the window. excuse me? what the hell was the point of me making this initial appointment? I also mentioned to Tony (who had a snide, and impatient attitude) the glass was still trapped in my door. He told me yea, thatd just something thats gunna be in there forever. Again, excuse me? I just got fed up with this place and decided to go elsewhere.I go to another body shop who tells me, both the window and the remaining glass in the door are very easy to fix and that Downtown was simply just being lazy. ( I agree). Im not sure if it was because Im a woman or what, but the attitude of some of the workers here is just trash. I will not be going back nor recommending this place to anyone. You guys need major work!
Great place. Honest and fair. Did a great job at a reasonable price
Took my car in for an estimate after the front passenger side panel got dented from some road debris. When I told the mechanic my main concern was that the door was having trouble opening, he got a tool and popped the panel back into place. He answered all my questions (about rust, possible problems down the road) and then sent me on my way. The whole thing took about 15 minutes and cost me no money. I will definitely be bringing any future problems to them or one of their affiliates.
Great honest people who will do great work at a fair price.
Dont go here if your thinking about doing your body work. Worst customer service and not only that, they are bad at calling you back. I brought my car in to have it estimated after an accident, however they never called me back. When I did, the car was already being fixed!!! I never got a estimate! Now I have to pay 1,000 to get the car out of the shop without any fix! Stay away from this place.

Very friendly, very casual. Also, MAD props for putting LGBT symbols on the office windows! Totally blown away by that. Yay, yay.
Great service and reasonable prices
Good place an reasonable prices on car estimates
Tony was really rude and a pain to deal with. Will not be coming back.
Took longer than expected, partly because they worked to keep my price down
Tony is the man!
