I’ve been frequenting this gem through two previous name changes and it’s still one of the best local coffee spots in Milwaukee! I don’t know any other spots that also have sparkling water on tap? Can’t wait until they are fully open again and start serving their tasty biscuits once more! In the meantime, there are other good bakery options and some food as well. The folks here are wonderful, too! I’ve done everything from working solo to professional meetings to even doing phonebanking on Election Day to encourage people to get out and vote. And the plants everywhere are a great touch, especially in the winter. Nice to see green things thriving in this lovely local spot.

Having recently moved to Mikwaukee, highest happily found my new coffee place. It has a modern feel, and is very open and airy. It has a perfect feel to it, and I could stay there all day.The staff is awesome, and it really has a friendly neighborhood by. The coffee itself is excellent. Its roasted perfectly and they can definitely make a perfect latte.I look forward to trying everything from other lattes to pour overs to cold brew. The pastry selection is also excellent.

Granola bowl & yogurt parfait with house coffee.First time visit here and the impression I get is an organic focused menu. The granola with yogurt was delicious, and the house coffee is what you would expect. The atmosphere is calm, collected while the decor is inviting. At the time I was there you would notice couples enjoying their small breakfast, a pair that congregated for a job interview, and students walking across the street from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design, just to give you an idea of the demographic. The staff was very friendly while explaining the array of choices on the menu for people whom never been here. There’s no standard uniforms to wear which is refreshing. If you were to close your eyes and land your finger on anything from the menu I’m sure it would be a delight. If you’re looking to go somewhere new, meet a few friends before starting your day or simply to work from your computer, then consider this location with no hesitation.

The staff was nice, and the thing I found interesting was they carried organic milk. Im vegan most of the time and occasionally vegetarian, but I still dont drink milk. So for the people looking for cleaner beverage options and dont want dairy alternatives this is great. From what I understand they buy locally as well, so how is that not great, supporting the states local farmers. I ordered a Vanilla Latte with Oat Milk and it was the first time I had the Oat Milk. Im normally a coconut or almond milk girl. It was delicious! I think even dairy lovers would enjoy this!So the other thing I thought was nice, the barista asked me to let her know what I thought of the coffee. Im not sure if she was new or not, but she wanted to know for herself and I think thats great! Showed that she really cared what her customers thought. I would definitely go here again. 😊✌ Check them out!😃🍃

Their selection is carefully selected. Ive been trying their seasonal drinks and stopped by for their cinnamon plum tea today. Its so gooood. Other favorites are a double time steeped (I like a stronger flavor) jade cloud tea, iced apple cider and like alllllll the cookies (think ginger chocolate).I dont need to say much about the coffee. Its nationally recognized. So far Ive I liked everything but the Bermuda Triangle drink (personal preference. Not a fan of syrups or pineapple but I thought Id try it anyways). Great place to experiment. Otherwise just get drip coffee.Theyve got a chill team thats knowledgable about the products theyre selling which is helpful. f youre used to overpriced, burnt Starbucks, definitely worth trying out WonderState.

Usually, I dont post reviews unless they are positive. This one is somewhat negative but intended to be constructive. Purchased a coffee plus shot of expresso today (Sat 10/3) at the Erie street location. Unlike Colectivo (with which I am comparing Wonderstate), the coffee combo I was requesting is not listed on the Menu board. I didnt specify a size (12 or 16) and wasnt asked by the serving Barista. As a result, the combined price of the purchase plus the tip came to $5.75 (vs. $1.75 at Colectivo) leading me to think I was getting the 16 oz. So I was paying close to $2 more for 4 oz less of the product. Thus, Wonderstate seems over priced to this $$-conscious customer. Adding to my dissatisfaction was the fact that I had specified I had wanted the cup to be filled up. I wasnt told until I was given the noticeably unfilled container that a new batch needed to be brewed. My final criticism is this. Right now because of Covid precautions, many coffee bars do not have condiments accessible. In the case of Colectivo, I can ask for sugars in packs and cream in a small paper cup: in other words this particular chain has adapted to the health risks associated with the virus. My experience at Wonderstate is that they havent made these adaptations, so it felt like I was inconveniencing the Baristas by asking for sugar and cream arranged so I could administer them myself. Overall, my experience here was an awkward and expensive one. Aside from that, the coffee is very good and the Baristas are friendly.

My partner and I travel often, and we have developed a system for determining which coffee shop to order from while visiting an unfamiliar place. Basically, if a cappuccino is offered in multiple sizes, we know that the establishment makes espresso drinks that are not in the style that we prefer, so we give each other a little nod and walk out. We went into three different cafes this morning before finding Kickapoo, and it was a relief to read their menu and see that the cappuccino was only available in 6 oz. We had found our place! We ordered two of them and a biscuit with honey butter. Everything was fantastic, and the people working behind the counter were obviously professionals and knew what they were doing. That is such a nice thing to see. Thanks Kickapoo! We will be back next time we are in MKE.

EDIT: My previous review was for Kickapoo and Im not entirely sure if the new name is old management or new. In any case, the airy and friendly vibe is gone. The surly barista couldnt even manage a hello to preface his what would you like?It seems like its the same physical layout but honestly it just felt darker and kind of sad.In my continuing exploration of coffee shops in my new town, I have passed by here several times on my way to MIAD but Ive always been white rabbit late and couldnt stop in. Today I made a special trip just to check it out. I was not disappointed.....greeted very cheerfully as soon as I walked in (and the server complimented my boots, so theres that). Disclaimer:. My drink of choice is ice tea, not coffee, and theirs is very good. It has flavor and some character. I will try coffee next time Im here. I didnt have plans to eat but their baked goods looked soooo good compared to the shellacked stuff you see any other coffee places I couldnt resist. The homemade biscuits were awesome. I highly recommend the apple cranberry butter. The atmosphere is clean and relaxed. There are individual and long tables as well as bar seating along the large windows. Definitely a return visit!
