We booked our tasting tour through our hotel for 4 person (pre-paid). We were at max 10 minutes late to our reservation. There were nobody in the reception. We tried calling them, nobody answered. We tried to ring the bell, looked inside, there was no one and no message left to inform visitors. We waited and waited then saw people who were inside, who were at the end of their tasting tour. We talked with the lady who was responsible. Her behavior was unbelievably rude. She said you were late I’ve waited 15-20 mins (which is not true) then started. She said if this was a train we would have miss our train. We were late that’s OK, but we’ve waited for 45 mins to understand what’s going on, she didn’t even wait 10 mins for us, she didn’t even try to call and inform, she didn’t offer any compensation etc. In the end, 10 people who were late for 10 mins couldn’t join the tour.

Incredible history. Huge, prestigious wine company with their own vineyards. Rest of group no shows so I had personal tour of cellar with guide. Tasting fee + tour 25 euro but probably fair with premiere cru tasting.

This domaine has a fascinating history in wine making. The cellars are underground storerooms of an old castle which cover over 4 kilometers and hold 2.5 million bottles of burgundy wines!

One of my favorite wineries in Burgundy. Their Chateau, with its distinctive roof that can be seen all over Beaune, their two rampart towers with wine cellar beneath, and their state of the art winery just north of town, are without equal. The people are very nice and professional. The wines range from very good to unbeliveably outstanding. A must visit for the astute wine drinker.

You have to visit and if you get the chance, tour the basements. Such a great place and with some of the best wines in the world.

Beaune is a beautiful city and worth a visit while in Burgundy. I made BP&F a destination and booked the Virtuoso tour in advance, as suggested by other reviewers. For those familiar with Napa, this is the anti-Napa tour. No tour buses pulling up and no elbowing for space (and a pour) at the wine bar. Instead, this is a small group (or, in my case, solo) tutorial about Burgundy, its various appellations, and the role BP&F plays in both. There is no winery onsite - no ‘how to’ of winemaking nor tour of thousands of casks aging in silence.There is a tour, but it is of the storage area for what appeared to be tens of thousand unlabeled bottles dating back to the 1800’s. It’s fascinating to see and quite interesting too, as this was a former military fort hundreds of years ago.Once the tour is over, you head to the wine bar for a sampling of ~8 wines, a mix of both red and white and, in my case 3 Grand Crus. I had corresponded with Claire (my guide) beforehand, and she had tailored the tasting to some of the region’s appellations I had told her I previously enjoyed.For what it’s worth, I am a big fan of wine, but a novice when to comes to Burgundy. My tour of BP&F was intended to elevate my understanding and appreciation of one of the world’s greatest wine regions, and it did just that.Thank you Claire and BP&F for a most enjoyable and educational afternoon.

We had booked a visit this Sunday morning, 2 couples with 2 2 year old children.The children were very calm, only a little curious about what they found.The person in charge of the visit, a Russian, asked us before attacking whether the children were good. We start the visit in the 1st room, the children sit on the stairs, next to this guide. She breaks down at the first thought that the fact that children say daddy bothered her. Uneasiness sets in. We go into the other room, the children sit on the floor, and remain very calm. She stops during her speech, looks at us meanly, and repeats derogatory remarks. After that we decide to leave the tour, we had come for a moment of relaxation and to buy! Madame Le Fur, who was at the reception that day, was very embarrassed by the behavior of her colleague, apologized flatly for her behavior, and compensated us for the visit which we were unable to finish because of the latters behavior. Fortunately she was there to raise the level of this person who did not have to behave like this with our children who were calm, and for a visit that you had paid!

Private guided tour (we were only two) by a competent and interesting young guide. The cellars and gardens are very charming, the view of Beaune, ramparts and hillsides is splendid. Very good wines and tasting of 8 pleasant and informative wines, accompanied by gougères (a tasting sheet, a map of Burgundy hillsides and the booklet of Bouchard Père et fils wines offered).

High quality tasting.On the other hand, the purchased bottles, Volnay, Aloxe Corton etc ... are absolutely tasteless !! Just a scandal, even aoutright scam. Run away!!
