They have a wide selection of handguns and long-guns, scopes, silencers, holsters and other items with plenty of inventory. The staff knows their stuff, but no snobbery for novices like myself. Ive purchased 9 firearms in the past couple of years, and always the same courteous, friendly service. Ethan is patient with me, never rushes, and prefers to educate rather than sell me on products. Friendly and fast. I was expecting to be in line all day with the way gun sales are these days, but I arrived and bought a full setup, AR15, red dot, mags, ammo, grips, and rails. Great selection and tons of gear in stock. I was out of there in less than an hour. Everyone in the store was great. Super helpful and knowledgeable. I wish the BG check wasnt going to take 2 weeks, but that is on the state. This was one of the best purchasing experiences I have ever had. Highly recommend.

Just have to throw this on here because it really irked me. Went in for ammo a couple months ago and was told by the people in the shop to sign up online and watch online to purchase. Which I did. Set up my want list and designated email notification. Got a notice that they had 22lr ammo in stock and placed an order for 2 boxes. Waited almost 2 weeks and got notice that they canceled my order and said that the supplier couldnt deliver. The very next day I got a notice for the exact same ammo in stock for twice the price. This just doesnt seem right. Cancel orders to make more money? Wont be back and will sure share this scam with other friends. I understand ammo is in demand, but this isnt how you do it.

Had a good amount of ammo for the times and a accurate online supply. This is about where the praise stops though. Customer service was horrible. The mask outside in a line when it’s easy to keep distance is mind blowing. I’ve also never been to a gun store that has a sign up to not carry loaded firearms in the store. What kinda fun shop doesn’t promote the amendment that keeps them in business?

My husband and I were here a few days ago and we were waiting in line outside in the rain and in the cold with a bunch of other customers doing the same thing. Had to comply with their face coverings and social distancing and having to step on designated yellow line areas for specific needs. We didnt wait that long outside which was good. When we got in and finally got what we wanted. We had this feeling they almost did not want to interact with us like we were customers. It was just unprofessional in my opinion. Ans when we asked if we could look around for a bit before we even finished our question this lady already already told us no right away. I am pretty sure you are all packed and busy. However, I really think their customer service could use more work and improvements. Its just the best way to make sure your customers wont ever come back to you for any purchase due to the unpleasant experience. Hopefully it would improve at some point so no one else could have the same experience like we did.

I purchased my second firearm from these folks just yesterday. The first gun I bought which was a handgun I picked up at the tigard store. Its a small store but full of a bunch of nice employees that whilst dont mess around and mean business are also very inviting and service oriented. The second gun I got was an AR-15 which I found on their website for a great price and picked up from their Portland (actually Milwaukie) store and immediately after I walked in i was greeted with smiles and warm inviting sales folks. The transaction and subsequent background check couldnt have gone any smoother and I even was able to score some free swag while there. Not really sure why. The swag was all Smith and Wesson stuff so perhaps because I was purchasing a M&P15. But I got eyewear, ear muffs and ear plugs, a nice breathable S&W polo and also got a few boxes of rounds (these werent free) while there. I used their finance company to get the rifle and it was super easy as well. Just a great experience with these folks and thats why I keep going back to them. Knowledgable, helpful and just a general positive atmosphere in an otherwise negative time in the world. Just okay. I wasnt impressed the staff. Seemed more interested in talking with each other than myself. Too much in a hurry and I felt that I was cumbersome. I will probably give them a try again just to be fair. Prices werent that bad for the guns I looked at.

Dont buy product online expecting to pick it up from their store. I purchased ammo online, for pick up. Drove an hour (each way) Just to arrive and have them tell me the product (ammo) was sold out. I had an order number, and my card was charged. Obviously frustrated I asked for a confirmation of a refund. With attitude I was told that an email would be sent and was in writing. No such email has yet to be received. My card WAS charged funds have cleared the bank, but I received nothing, they dont answer their phone, and havent responded to my emails. Do I need to drive another 2 hours just to get the refund I was told? Save yourself the trouble, go somewhere else.

Former employee. In truth this was the best job I ever worked. Nice environment, interesting people, ammo discounts. I was very proud to work in this establishment. But in actuality it was not a very good or very stable job. I figured it would be difficult working in a family owned business, but they barely provided any of the amount of training they promised during the interview process. They told me to just ask whenever I didnt know something, and to not go outside to greet the customers, they would bring someone to you. They made you feel like you were either stepping on their toes or standing around doing nothing. They fired me without notice over the weekend when I showed up 15 minutes early for work like I always do. Didnt even give me a good reason why.Honestly this is a quality gun store and the people are great, but I would not recommend anybody who wants something lasting to get a job here.

I found this place online. I was a little discouraged due to some of the negative reviews but they had a firearm that I was interested in so I gave them a shot. While having issues making this order online I called customer service, and talked to Ms. McKinzie. While she did her best working on my order, she put the item on hold until we could solve the issue. The issue was finalized by Mr. Sequoya. These two associates went Far and Beyond to complete my order and it was shipped to Texas in 2 days. This just goes to show, that just because you read a couple of bad reviews doesnt mean that your experience will be the same. Made an online purchase 8 weeks ago, went to the location the same day to do the background check, came back delayed. They told me it could take about 3 weeks for a response back. Now here I am on week 8 (which I understand there is a backlog) and both phone numbers go straight to a voicemail that has not been set up. Ive emailed with zero response back. At this point I just want my money back so I can take my purchase elsewhere......this is way bad business!

I’ve been to a few different gun shops, ranging from Gresham to Milwaukie. I HIGHLY recommend NW Armory. I purchased my S&W M&P 9 from them a couple years ago and have visited them for little things like ammo and most recently purchasing some Trijicon sites for my 9mm. I showed up at 4:45pm, they close at 5:00pm. Not just one but three of their employees stayed 10-15 minutes late answering silly questions from a guy like me learning about firearms. I was never upsold on any product, I was given honest personal feedback from all 3 employees and ended up giving them a tip for being kind and honest. Since my first encounter with NW Armory, roughly 2-3 years ago, They’ve earned a customer for life. IF, I have a bad experience, I will make sure to get names and update this review. Until then, if you’re like me and not a firearm expert, these guys & gals are top notch. They’re so busy they haven’t been able to answer the phone. I believe they are closed Sunday and Monday and open noon-5:00pm Tuesday-Saturday. Thank you all once again for reassuring me through your actions that you’re not simply all about sales, rather educating and helping us find what’s right for each individual. Thank you!!

Good selection of firearms, decent prices. But I have never had a worse experience with a business. Absolutely no customer service. They dont answer their phone, dont respond to emails. They have been closed for various reasons the past several days and cannot reach anyone. They have my money, my background check cleared and Ive been trying to pick up my firearm for a week now and everytime there door is closed. I feel like Ive been robbed.

It was ok...they tend to be on the pricey side and their answer to COVID leaves a little to be desired. I just purchased some Ammo online and picked it up. They met me at the door, asked my name and came back with a box. They didnt hold me to their ammo limits which I thought they might but I was told this time they made an exception.

Hi: I ordered a hand gun on their web site that was shown to be in stock. They wrote me back that afternoon and said their web site was wrong and that they did not have it in stock after all and they would refund me my money. We are talking more than a thousand dollars! I waited a few days and E-mailed them to ask how long the refund would take. No answer. I waited and E-mailed again same question and again No answer! I gave up and called the seven days after the purchase got voice mail and left them a message in detail about who I am the order number my phone number and would someone please call me back. Today is 3/17/20 this started on 3/9/20 and still no answer! I called my credit card company and they handle it from here. I just wanted an idea of when I would get my refund. they might be a great company to deal with in person but I would not suggest using their online service.

I purchased a Firearm on 05/23/2019 from the web site. I have not received the firearm and sent several emails regarding this. I have not received a single reply. I have tried to call both phone numbers and cant get through. They now have $534.99 of my money and I have nothing to show for it

I purchased my first handgun from them nearly 9 years ago and have been back for every single purchase since... and I amassed quite a large collection since.They’re knowledge and friendly and happy to show you as much as you want. I do wish that they would implement some sort of ticket system because when it gets busy, and it does frequently get that way, there doesn’t seem to be any real organization when it comes to helping who is next. But you will get the assistance you need, just sometimes have to be a bit persistent when it’s packed. Not a big deal. I’m a customer for life.

Went there Saturday for ammo.Big line out the door so waited until Tuesday got there and they were closed and only doing online orders. Website says open. They could not bother to update. Lucky for me I am close but I feel sorry for the guy who drove all the way from St.Helens to Milwaukie just to get ammo.

Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had “attempting” to buy a new gun. I try my best to be understanding when people are busy and have a lot of customers to deal with, but there really is no excuse to disregard customers who express interest in finishing a transaction that day. I drove 40 minutes to a competitor in Beaverton after walking out of here and had a great experience. It’s a shame because they’re so close, but I should have taken those bad reviews more seriously.

All these folks leaving bad reviews should’ve been buying guns and ammo during peaceful times. Of course right now your gonna have to wait to get a call back or won’t have as much time inside the store to ask newb gun questions. There’s plenty of online content to have your questions answered before you go buy your first firearm. Having said that I have great experience from buying from here. Great competitive prices. This is a quality Gun Shop. I was in awe when I walked in and saw the selection if they had. Not only were they super-friendly but they were also extremely knowledgeable. Purchasing my first handgun there was fantastic. I love the ladies behind the counter. They are something else! We will definitely be returning to this location to purchase all of our future guns and ammo.

I find it very odd that the owner of this place responded only to 1 rating. Its the one that the man is upset because of receiving a speeding ticket. He should be much more concerned about ALL the bad ratings he received on his employees. My husband and 2 sons and I are looking to purchase 5 guns and was thinking on going here but after reading all the reviews I have to say that well take our business elsewhere. Shame on you owner. I would not recommend this location. Yes, I bought a firearm from here in the past which was pretty seamless. But my most recent experience was so bad I almost vomited, literally. I was looking around and a staff member made a comment that another customer had bad credit because they used credova. Their situation was none of his concern. Especially when they looked well put together. What should have been of his concern should have been his personal hygiene and maybe making sure he washed his hair. This made the whole visit awkward. I’ve bought numerous guns from this location but this visit was rather rude and unpleasant. I was not greeted for 5 minutes and the staff made a fuss about helping customers. Considering that our money becomes their revenue. I’d be interested to see how their income statement is affected from the poor service. All in all, I think I’ll be visiting their Tigard location. But one recommendation I have is to value your customers no matter what. Because the only thing that keeps a business running and profitable is the loyalty of the customers, they lost that today. But I’d be more than happy to send some soap as a parting gift.

This place is pretty great. I have been in 3 or 4 times looking for ammo as well as at handguns and rifles. The customer service overall is excellent with knowledgeable staff besides maybe a few of the younger guys who just blew me off, probably should have work a camouflage hat. The older guys working there know a lot and are willing to help you and teach you about the products instead of assuming you should know everything.The used products are in great shape and are backed by a nice guarantee. The prices even in a tough political time are very fair. Minimal markups as I am sure they are seeing some on their end as well.Great selection of handguns, mediocre shotgun and rifle selection. Ammo is impossible to find right now and they are struggling as well but normally it is no problem.Go here if you want to pickup a handgun and want to learn a little about it first. Many shops Ive been into are into price gouging and arent treating their customer with respect. This place is different. I will return for my next purchase.

Girl says my gun is not popular right now and is only selling for pennies on the dollar. I believe her. Soon as they can they put it on their site for $400 more. DO NOT SELL THEM GUNS.They do not follow the law! I was put on a delay for purchase which is happening to many people right now. The lady didnt warn me and I tried to buy my new gun. Now I am stuck. I cant get a new gun and they wont give me my old gun back. The law says by the third day of you dont get a dismissal or a number to your case, they need to sell you a gun. THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THE LAW.I Know they were busy but these things are easy to inform. I will not send any of my friends. I will not go to either location. You lost my business.

Soooo. Im not ex military, law enforcement, or a gun nut. Im not a fan of northwest armorys biggest endorser (radio host). It is obvious that I dont wear a red hat. My firearm knowledge is novice at best. I have been to probably 9 or so different gun shops in Washington and Oregon since Ive gotten into firearms and I have had some uncomfortable experiences. With all that said, I really like this place. The people that work there have been not only patient with me, but they have been extremely helpful. I have been there a few times and I feel comfortable shopping at NW Armory and will continue to do so. Their prices are good too. Check out the sales.

These guys are my go-to place for guns and ammo. As a new, beginning shooter, they continually make me feel comfortable and welcome there. Staff is always helpful and Ive always been asked by someone if I needed help with something. Staff is casual and friendly, helpful, and willing to strike up a conversation. Ive done miles of research on guns to prepare me for what I was getting into, but just being able to casually chat about guns and whats good and bad has helped tremendously. Ive been there a dozen times now, buying ammo and supplies, and theyve never disappointed me.Theyve got my business for as long as I live n this area.

Bought my second gun from here. Did not realize they charge a silly amount for a gun transfer. 50 for the transfer and 10 for the background. There are pawn shops that will do both for 25$. Wasnt fast either. Plenty of staff. good selection.

Thanks to Lars Larson I went to NW Armory and have no regrets. This is the place to shop for firearms. There are shops closer to me but Im willing to driver a little out of my way for NW Armory. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I waited patiently to be helped because there were so many people who shop there. Walk in with a positive attitude and youll have no issues.

Looks like a solid selections of firearms and accessories. Cool, but definitely no-nonsense staff. Theyre super busy, so dont go in expecting personalised barber shop chit chat. My wife wanted a .22 for plinking and target shooting this summer, the salesperson talked us through a few popular models and recommended ammunition and a bag, then ran the required checks/paperwork and we were out the door (with a tidy little Ruger 10-22 which we both love). No upsells or BS. Ill definitely consider being a return customer, I like their no-BS style.

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! That is if you can get a response from them.. My first and unfortunately my last experience. Thursday I purchased an (in stock) gun. For pick up from Milwaukie. No contact for 3 days.. On Sunday I get an email that my gun has been Back ordered 1-2WEEKS.. That same day, the same gun was available at the Tigard shop as well. Ive asked for a refund and received ZERO response.

I went to purchase my wife a small pistol for her to conceal carry. I know I wanted something small but powerful...as my wife is not sissy with guns. She prides herself in shooting more weapons then me (and I have 16 years of military service) so I got her a nice Ruger. I couldnt decide, I am picky, I wanted a laser on it, I wanted a holster, and extra magazine and I got it all. Was it affordable, I wasnt buying off brand so yes it was expensive but I purchase quality and they were very busy, not pushy, just gave me lots of information and I appreciated them leaving me alone for awhile so that could browse. When I decided, I was out of there quickly -- even with a background check. Have an idea of what you want when you go in, because the selection is staggering and selection is just as important as price to me. You get the best of both worlds. They are not the cheapest but you will get great customer service, they treat you like a person not a dollar amount, and they want you to be happy. - safe Oregon gun owner

As a first time shopper, it can be a little intimidating to walk into a store like this. Salespeople were friendly and informative. Pretty decent selection and the prices seemed fair. Theres always some sales going on and it seems like there are some killer deals to be had. I would go back.

This is the second time I have stopped in this store and received poor customer service! They will not get anymore of my money. I have bought a few new and used firearms from them in the past. I stood at the used gun counter today for almost 15 minutes waiting for someone, or anyone to come help me. Well, that never happened. I made eye contact with several employees, however the seemed more interested in talking to each other. The store was not busy. If it was I could understand the wait, maybe. My time is worth something to me. So much for supporting local. Back to getting what I need off the net. Or Ill go to the big box stores. I would not recommend them to anyone at this time. Perhaps they should try and remove their heads from the 4th point of contact!

Been a month since I ordered and paid for my glock online they transfer every call to Arizona never answer and mailbox is full. Emailed multiple times was told by another NW armory in Oregon who did answer the phone that they were only responding to emails. Nope not true I have yet to get a response. I have had the pleasure of dealing with the Tigard store on several occasions. I have always found them to be polite, professional and very personable. I recently found an item that I wanted to purchase at an out-of-state dealer and stopped by Northwest Armory to inquire about having the gun shipped to them as an FFL dealer. They politely asked what I was looking for and indicated they would be very competitive on the price. Not only did I purchase from them - keeping my dollars local - they graciously waived the background check fee because Im a veteran. Nice touch, great people. Ill continue to use them for ammunition and firearms purchases.

To better your customers experience I think you should pay attention to the reviews where many have waited on help just standing there. I have waited Multiple occasions for help up to 10 minutes. Also offered pennies for higher end rifles when brought in to trade/sell. Cabelas offered double.... if that tells you anything. Like to see the local store prosper but you need to earn it.

I had a great experience here. The staff was friendly and helpful. And my purchase was smooth and uninterrupted. I highly recommend this place for all your firearm, ammunition, and knife needs.

Its not hard to see why NWArmory is the best shop in town. Been a happy repeat customer since 2001. Always helpful granted some times busy but they are usualy staffed well. Prices are always reasonable often the best deal in town. Even had them honor a sales deal that was expired that included a free gift a day late. Cant beat the customer service had much worse elsewhere.

I am giving them 0 Stars, not only were they Ass holes but they knew practically nothing about every gun I was interested in. From a KSG 12 GA to the Smith and Wesson body guard. And everything in between. For future reference, I could have purchased every gun and rifle I put my hands on today, but I know now... Im going to spend my money elsewhere.

Purchased my first AR from here and they were willing to price match Keiths sale price. They have great customer service and Jared T is always a great sales rep to talk to when you go in. Very personable experience. Fair prices.
