Cold section is so big it is a separate room! Great place to stock up on bulk meat for a big family or a BBQ but smaller portions also available. Great sales as well from time to time.
Great to grab some really good porterhouse steaks and whatever else you might desire.
I love the place, cashier was not friendly, but I understand..God is good
This place costomers and employees don’t follow the rules of COVID 19, no masks and products are always expired, you have to be careful, breads always with molds, I usually go every week for shopping, I stopped due to the insane of employees and managers, as a physician I was exposed to get sick on that place.
Love the meat selection. Also lots of Spanish products. Customer service could use a little polishing.
Their prices over all have gone up a lot. The quility of the meats are still great.
Good price for decent food.Freshly baked bread every morning is my favorite and good sales on meat.
Good supermarket, great bread, nice selection of vegetables. Very well stocked. Good to fair prices. Clean and maintained. Happy shopping..
Typical supermarket has friendly staff has some harder to find Spanish products
Super Clean.The Best Sirloin Meat...
Cashier attitude, sorry but never something like this.
Very good 👍
Check the expiration on everything when going here. Ive had multiple issues with getting items that were expired (like milk) or soon to be expired. Ive had to come back and return.
A fairly large market catering to more Latin tastes, and thats just fine. Huge selection of fruits and veggies, big refrigerated meat market featuring lower end cuts of beef, no prime here but overall good quality. But the best kept secret................THE best Fried Chicken in Nassau County at the Deli Counter! Crispy, delicious and huge pieces, wings, thighs and drum sticks only........all the best tasting parts. Get there early, its gone by lunch, reheats perfectly!
Good for most of my grocery shopping
Great place to shop for local products and a wide variety of International spices and produce. The staff is great and helpful. The meat section is excellent with a wide variety of options, cuts and low prices. This place was a haven during the peak Covid times, they followed all protocols and even kept groceries stocked and sanitized. They even have a glacier water dispenser kiosk; my go to place for refillable water.Nice supermarket with fresh veggies, low priced meats and local brands.
Variety of Latin foods at good prices
Couple times the price charged was not the same as advertised, besides of inaccurate price they have many Latin food selections. Fresh vegetables and huge frozen section. Walk in freezer.
Western Beef has always one of my go to stores they have everything and prices are great! the store is clean and stocked.
I like the supermarket and the atmosphere it has for being healthy and ethical, and they have a better check out system. Had a great shopping experience at this place.
Bad service, not to mention scammers from the cashiers and the manager, the products have a different price on the shelves and when you go to checkout to pay, the cashiers charge you double, and when you confront them the manager tells you that they will give you a discount, one time I can accept it, but more than two times, please. In these critical times taking advantage of people, sorry but I will not buy here again.
Staff was not friendly or knowledgeable of location of items.
I love this place! I stumbled on it because I was looking to refill my water bottles and they have a Glacier Water refill machine. So glad I found it.
I was quite surprised what they had, I will return there again.
First time in the store. The prices are good and reasonable. Their meat department is separate and when you walk into the meat section, it is super cold and the meat section is different from other stores, the meat sits on shelves. It is so Cool.
They have really good fruit and the service is quick.
Love the fresh bread. Could use more whole wheat options. Walk in meat locker cannot be beat. Produce is solid. Overall really like it. Opening more registers during peak hours would be great.
Great place to go for fruit and bakery items. Meat department has a good selection. Prices are good Especially if you buy in bulk
Decent selection, nice prices on vegetables/fruits and meats. Too bad this store doesnt have self checkout. The checkout staff here are incredibly unfriendly.
I love this supermarket, the only complaints I have is first the prices are extremely high, specially the meat, also, some of the cashiers are the rudest people that I have ever seen, some of them they are occupy in their cells, talking bad about the customer specially when they speak only English and they are (cashiers ) Hispanic they make fun of them, also, you say thank you and they don’t even say anything, now they have the self checkout, I hope it work, be the girl that is there it watch you like a hawk, you ca not put your food in the bag after you scanned it, she has a terrible attitude, these cashiers need training in public relations, so they can learn how to treat people, they don’t understand that the only reason they have a job is because of us, the customers.
Worst super market I have ever been to. It’s filthy. Everyone’s rude. The quality of meat is so bad every time we make cutlets we have to throw them away. I passed by the dairy walk-in and they let moldy cheese just sit there in the open on the shelves. I bought Parmesan cheese and within a few days was getting moldy. The salad bags are always out dated. How do you expect anyone to buy anything at your store if it’s all bad? Never coming here again. I don’t care how convenient it is. Everyone go elsewhere. “Low prices” are not worth it if everything in your store is filthy.
Not bad, but then again Ive never visited a Western Beef before. Im not from around here. We dont have them in Massapequa. Just stop 4 a minute get orange juice. It appeared clean and in order, however I did notice the princes are definitely lower then where I live, but too far to come for groceries.
Easy to see right off of 2nd Street servicing Mineola and the adjoining areas of Nassau County. Plenty of parking and a wheelchair accessible entrance. Moderately clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Nice staff. Credit cards accepted. Great for large meat orders. I was able to purchase an entire pig here back in 1999. Credit cards accepted. We will definitely be going back.
Nice place local to find your out of town food items, food court area is also a plus...
This supermarket is really rude. My grandma asked if this cashier was open which wasn’t a bad thing to say. Then this lady I think her name was Bella was talking about that in English because my grandma speaks Spanish. She said “why wouldn’t it be open I’m right here” to the other cashier. I don’t like this supermarket in my opinion. Rude service.
Looks like good produce and fruits. The prices are typically very good but the problem is finding a cart or hand basket for your items and getting checked out. No matter what time of day, there is always a line at the checkout and often the cashier is more interested in their cell phone then the customer. The female manager, usually works evenings, never has a smile and typically seem very unhappy to be there.
They have the glacier water gallon refill machine. That was my main purpose for trekking there it has a large parking lot and tons of shopping carts. Its clean inside and there is a lot of variety.the produce department looks great as well. The staff is professional and friendly. I like the cactus uniform tshirts
Great deals. Best baked goods. The bread is fresh and delicious. Great produce dept.. Great meat prices. Never a disappointment.
Great selection of meats, not a fan of their produce quality though. They dont seem as fresh compared to other supermarkets
Good produce, lots of International items, awesome fresh baked bread.
Pricing knowledge is key to knowing what value you are getting so I dont get upset about all prices and I buy just whats a good value at all stores I shop. In general this is a basic Latin leaning supermarket with items that are not sold at a regular stop and shop stores. So this place fills an important area for me so I will always come here for those specific needs. One thing that really disappoints me is the Deli service. Horrible people with horrible attitude behind the counter. I wont bother them anymore for deli items. Being bilingual I often understand that speaking English maybe an issue for some workers in stores like Western Beef. But ignorance to basic English followed by rudeness is just a bad lazy person.
Cheap food of good quality. Not the most cleanly storefront but inside is fine. Help is ok too. Good parking.
Overall good store. This is the place to come for you barbecue needs. Plenty of awesome looking produce. Warehouse club-like bulk portion are available for parties or if you run a professional catering company.
Western Beef.in Mineola is always clean, has nice produce and the bread is delicious.Homemade and makes the store smell like a bakery. The cashiers are always nice, usually a quick in and out.
Good neighborhood supermarket
Great prices for the amount of groceries I purchase here for my family, a great selection of foods. Only negatives the restrooms are a mess and shopping carts are everywhere in the parking lot. Overall friendly environment in this place.
Not so much people. Alot of options.
Everytime I come here their produce never looks good and once I saw them cleaning their displays and the produce was stacked in dirty shopping carts. Also their quality of meats are not the greatest, everything always needs a cleaning before cooking. Their Bakery section is pretty good though.
Best meat department i ever saw! If you are looking for different variations of meats and you want them fresh! This is the place to go
Very good store company
Very highly recommend seller great communication Ill be back
100% not all sales and pricing is equal. This Western Beef store is priced higher than than the WB in West Hempstead and Elmont. In addition, they dont seem to stock the same quantity or variety of products reflected in the other stores. Once I saw the pricing was slightly higher on some items. I recalled what a manager said to me, when I questioned this. He said, the store manager is at liberty to set the price for his area. So, if the customers, who live in the area, can afford to pay higher prices. Then, they charge accordingly and make the necessary adjustments with sale items. I understand. But, I walked out as fast as I went in. I decided to go to Shop Rite and, Costco down the street, it was worth the gas and savings. Shop Rite has better meats.
The food sold out of the store is good quality! The meat is a little expensive for it to be western beef. The staff isnt that friendly helpful
Save yourself from going into this trash dump. Always crowded after work and never enough cashiers. If you go on a Sunday its okay. They keep all their cold stuff in a massive refrigerator room, which is horrible to go shopping in because your freezing so you dont even want to shop and Im not even sure its kept cold enough to keep the food from spoiling. Its relatively clean inside but theres flies everywhere and then the local bums cashing in on the deposits outside and inside.Save yourself and go to a real super market.
Great selection of meats, not a fan of their produce quality though. They dont seem as fresh compared to other supermarkets
Pretty empty so close to Thanksgiving, it could be the hour I went, 3 oclock in the afternoon.
Staff was helpful and friendly in finding items
If you have few items there is no express register. Few cashiers. Terrible store!!!
The store is alright. Small place with the basic stuff
Good prices, check dates. You can save big.The only down fall, have patience for checking out. Most of the time just one cashier.
Decent sales. Fresh baked bagels, cakes, muffins and various rolls and other goodies.
They need to fix their pa music system, it constantly skips. They do the basic stuff really well and their beef/pork items from their butcher is good.
Went on the 4th of July. The store must have new owners because the prices were steep (in my opinion). The cashier was surly. I have worked on major holidays and never took my disappointment out on customers.
Great meats but watch the prices on other things
Store is Neat an clean lots of Merchandise
Good & chilly
I found amazingly great deals on meat. The best prices on meat anywhere.
Can come across dirty and the ambience is not to MY liking. Unfortunately, this is where my mom has me drive her to pick up things occasionally.
Can be a little dirty but great prices and bread is amazing
I wish they had more convenient locations because their prices are better than most supermarkets on Long Island.
Today is a quiet day however normally you can depend on western to have very efficient prices. A blessimg.
Shopping here is the absolute worst. Many products are past their experation dates. The produce is NOT fresh here. Don’t even bother buying anything from the deli department the salads have been sitting there for weeks and the tuna was looking crusty and old.Just recently they had a huge price increase on all products in the store. You will pay almost double what Stop & Shop charges. This took effect after January 1st after the minimum wage went up in New York. They were hoping customers wouldn’t notice. The attitude of the employees is horrible too and plain rude. Also watch how the prices ring up at the register, caught them overcharging me a few times. They charge $7.99 for a jar of Miracle Whip. Really? Look elsewhere to shop and don’t get RIPPED OFF here..
Fast friendly service and great products the deli is clean and the meat is delicious this is my favorite shopping experience for food
It was very fast lane for the first time very good service
They have the best fried chicken for lunch and reasonably priced. The garlic bread is also tasty.
Thats one of the stores we shop at. The Mineola one and west hempstead
I love the bread, never bought anything else really so cant comment much more
The produce was pretty sad when I visited (herbs were all wilty). The meat locker -- there are some deals on meat to be found if you buy in HUGE packs / family portions but otherwise not much cheaper than Trader Joes. I got their Italian bread and it was really... Not dense. Not sure how to describe it. Basically good for parties but not something I would buy for myself. Finally, I did find some good nonperishables-- $2 for a jar of Manzanilla olives. Their sale price for canned beans was the regular price for the beans at Trader Joes. I guess I would come back for convenience (bike ride away) but its not my preferred grocery store.
Great price on the produce but dont use the bathroom
Very good
They have everything including in bulk, with excellant pricing
At time in needs this place raised the prices on all their meats to $1-$2 more per lb. Selling cheap cuts as premium. Not right at all.
The shopping carts are disgustingly dirty, they never have more than four lines open and the lines are ridiculously so long that you cant even walk through the store, the staff is virtually nonexistent. They do not help nor do they know anything about what theyre selling and they dont seem to care if you have a question or if your needs are met. The only reason I go here is that its close to my home otherwise youre much better off a waldbaums or King Kullin.
Very inexpensive food...at times the quality is equally as low.
No handicap carts available
Solid butcher Dept. Decent produce.
Excellent great deals and meats and prices
Well stocked although some shelves are sparse during this crises. Clean and friendly
Overpriced and i often find a lot of expired items.
Very clean and organized good quality of veggies
I purchase a donut from the mineola location and by the next day it was sour. i have purchased beef patties in the box from the froze section and they are always molded and spoil.
Close to my house and the price is very reasonable. Sometime they have tons of sale on everything.
You will find everything in there
Great sales on food products specializing in meats
