I found Mineola Bicycle by chance since one of my old road bikes needed a shifter and brake tune up. I spotted a gravel bike when I was waiting, and the employee was super nice and helpful in walking me through it for almost 20 min. He didn’t push for a sale, and it turned out to be a great conversation. I left and called back a week later and bought my brand new Topstone 1 from them. I was lucky enough to score the last orange one in my size.Separately, I ordered a Super Six Evo online and brought it in for assembly. They did it within two days, which was super fast and accommodating considering I bought my bike elsewhere.I finally decided it was time to write a review after I’ve gone back to them with both bikes for various adjustments (break in adjust aside), quick upgrade installations, etc and they helped me free of charge! When I asked why they simply said don’t worry about it.I’d definitely recommend and use them as my trusted LBS going forward!

These guys are great. When i went in at first due to bike shortage, they didnt have many bikes to choose from so i grabbed a low end model they had, turns out after riding it for a month the bike had major flaws and id have to constantly get it fixed. Feeling very dissapointed, I asked if i could trade in whatever my bike is worth at this point for a better more mid line bike. I assume the person is the bossman there, and he did me better and was willing to give me full credit for the bike. I am extremely happy with my cannondale and wish it was the first bike i started off with. In this scenario it pays to go Local vs big box. Will def be coming back for all my bike needs.

Very disappointing, I went to Mineola Bike today to purchase 2 bicycles.The 2 women behind the counter never once looked away from the computer to say “Hello, can I help you.” There was also an employee in the back office to the left who did the same, which is nothing but stare at a computer. I walked out after 10-15 minutes of being ignored & spent my $ elsewhere.

They used to be much more thorough and friendly for servicing bikes. Brought a bike here recently and half the work wasnt done after 2 weeks. Brought it right back in and it was fixed, great....but then apparently the full tune up was barely done. Now the bike needs a new freewheel. I will do it myself.

This is the worst bike store. They will scam you!! I ran over a rock and my wheel got bent. I brought it in to Mineloa Bicycle and instead of fixing my wheel they convinced me to buy a super low quality wheel at $150. When I asked the mechanic if my wheel is fixable, he whispered that it is and if I left it with him for a few days, he could fix it. I should have caught his signals then. I couldnt wait because I was on a long bike ride to Portland, Maine. This morning, I was leaving my hotel at New London, CT and I got three flats right outside the hotel. I brought it in to Niantic Bicycle, and their mechanic fixed my old wheel and now Im good to go. Dont ever do business with these people, they are crooks and scam artists.

Was just there today to ask about replacing my rear wheel sprockets and relaced with a gear hub. The technician told me to call the company find out the proper sized spokes. Then I asked him if they can do the job and he said yes it will cost $100 labor plus parts. If they can do the job then why bother telling me to call the company to find out the correct spoke length? They could have called themselves. After all they are the bike shop. They didnt care for my business. They were No help at all.

I bought a bicycle caad12 here, with a very good service attitude and a very good shopping experience.

I had my bike stolen after riding it for a couple months. After it was stolen, I went back to the shop to see if they could do anything about it. The people there were very feeling for the situation that I was in, and accommodated me in any way they could. In the end, they gave me a new bike that was a very similar model to my old bike, for ten percent off. I am very grateful to these people, and specifically to Gus, the salesperson that worked with me to get my new bike

Truly the best on Long Island! It was almost nostalgic coming back for various cycling needs now after my Grandfather bought me a GT bmx bike back in the early 90s when I was a kid. Literally EVERY SALESMAN there not only knows their stuff but are super friendly and attentive. And Audrey is truly the coolest and best. They’re a busy shop yet she made sure to take care of me right away after I bought some of the newest/hottest bar tape on the cycling market (SupaCaz). It is the type of shop that even if I see a something for $10 more than I could get it for online I would rather give them the business because of how great they all are in there! You won’t find people on Long Island who know more about bikes and you certainly won’t find a shop that updates itself with the newest and best products in the industry!

(For NYC resident - just go to this store instead of super commercial bike shop in the city. ) I would highly recommend this store and looking forward to buying next bike from them.

My snow blower had a tire issue. On the eve of a major snow storm the very friendly staff took my unit in and had it fixed the same day at a very reasonable price. They were crazy busy but still found a way to fit me in. Hard working staff... Thanks!

This bike shop is a throwback to earlier times when shopping was an experience. I was greeted by Peter and he was very knowledgeable and friendly. He walked me through the various bike options, answered all of my questions and applied zero sales pressure. After we narrowed it down, I then brought my #1 consultant AKA My Dad inside to seal the deal because I value his opinion of course. 10 minutes later we ended up with a Cannondale and I rode it home a day later on a snowy Sunday afternoon. It was the beginning of a new adventure for me and I highly recommend this shop. Go and find Peter and let him assist you with a new bike! Thank you.

Definitely going to overcharge you just like every other mechanic whether it be bicycle or cars but I did send my bike in for repairs and already have been charged 300 and most likely will have to pay more when retrieving my bike

Great experience today - got lucky with an in-stock display Giant Escape small men’s bike for my son; they let him ride it in the back to try it; add a water bottle holder, LED rechargeable rear flashing light, kickstand (all installed on the spot), and a helmet (with safety light on back); military discount on accessories. Beautiful! Easy and free parking (day hours) out front on the street. Salespeople very attentive and answered all questions. Since 1935.

They looked up the information and said they were waiting on a part to complete one item but they did speak to someone to authorize the repairs. 1st off, no one ever called me to authorize the repairs but I will put that aside because I just want both items fixed. Next they said the part should be in any day did I want to wait for that part or fix the other item and make 2 trips. I said I have no problem making 2 trips since Ive already been waiting 4 weeks. No one has called me back and now its another 2 weeks and Ive been calling to get a status, however, either it goes to a Voicemail directly or the phone rings and rings and rings. Ive been trying to call random times and days and still, no one picks up. Thus far its been 6 weeks they have 2 pieces of power equipment and I have no idea what is/was wrong with either and no idea when it may be ready. I guess I can try to drive over there and hope I can get more information that what Im NOT able to get via simple phone call.

Although extremely busy during this Pandemic as it seems everyone remembered how much fun it is to ride bikes, they took me in as a walk in and fixed my sons bike brakes right away and for a nominal charge. I was very pleased with the help and service from this business! I was in NY for a nursing assignment and bought a bike to travel too and from work. The employees were very attentive and helped me pick an awesome bike that fit my needs and were very helpful. Their store had everything I needed as well. I am now 62 years old and I received my first bicycle from here when I was 12, it was called a cotton picker and the next at 14 a 10 speed English racer and when my daughter was 14, I bought her a 15 speed mountain bike from Mineola bicycle she’s now 28 and the bike is still in great condition I swear by them as the bicycles are of high quality and the sales staff and mechanics of the same caliber and I’m hoping that when she has children Mineola bicycle will still be there for her to buy her children’s bicycles were here .

Very helpful and no pressure into buying

Service department is really slow and unorganized. First time I gave them an engine to simply change the oil. Two months later still wasn’t done because I asked for synthetic oil — with an autobarn three doors down. Second time it took five months because they forgot about it. Never again. They would rather work on landscaper equipment.

Person taking repair orders reminded me a car dealer mechanic. The bike needed a brake adjustment. She took one quick look and said They dont make these anymore. Well have to install new. The brakes were mass market Dia-Compe side pulls, one of the most popular makes, and they only needed an adjustment (I know because I used to do my own bike work). They called with a quote for $200, including new tubes and tires. Pure scammer in front, great work in back. Question and push back on the recommended work, just like at a car dealers service dept.

Easy to see right off of Jericho Turnpike servicing Mineola and the adjoining areas of Nassau County. Parking on the Street is available. Clean facilities. Reasonably priced. Nice staff. Credit cards accepted. Lawn mowers and snow blowers too. We will definitely be going back.

Great selection and very helpful and knowledgeable staff made shopping for my first serious road bike a pleasure. Barry was patient and not pushy which made the entire experience relaxing and enjoyable. He fit me better for my new ride then the last tailor did with a new suit taking careful measurements and assessing all other factors expertly.

I didnt purchase a bike here but I did buy my trainer here, I was greeted by Chris whom was great, she let me test ride a bike and i felt like i was ready to get my first road bike. I ended up purchasing my bike else where because they dont carry the FUJI brand but I would defiantly buy a bike from this bike shop. I did get a bike fit from barry who was amazing. I said that the saddle was too hard for me, they asked that I come back with the original saddle. Changed it free of charge. I will get all of my bikes/accessories from this shop in the future.

When I first visited Mineola Bike shop I was instantly greeted by a friendly staff member.I really liked the fact that they have female employees who ride with the bike club to answer any woman specific questions about cycling.They were really helpful, and im glad to give them my business. They have always treated me so well.Even when my bike needed tuning, The mechanics were very friendly and explained what work needed to be performed anddid it well. Its true what they say, treat others with respect and courtesy, and they will treat you the same. It is no wonder this shop has been in business for over 80 years! =)

I took my significant others daughter to Mineola to help her get a bike for school. She was nervous about cycling - she hadnt ridden a bike in a long time. Barry couldnt have been more helpful. He helped get her on a frame that was sized well - shes short - and he was willing to swap on a stem to get her fit more comfortable. Took lots of time to get a helmet that fit her just right. He answered all her questions patiently, and she came away from the experience feeling really positive and excited about cycling again. It couldnt have been a better experience!

Took my pressure washer here a couple of months back, they charged me around $260 to replace the carburetor, it broke again yesterday and I went and priced the carburetor at $25 I couldnt believe how cheap it was and it took me minutes to replace my self I just quickly youtubed it... cont believe how much they charged me, I think its so overpriced I certainly wont go back!!!!!

Some of the most caring people in the industry and long island. Went there by chance when a local bike shop was closed and met tony on the first day. His experienced shined thru and I was able to get a bike that I totally became hooked on. With in a month I got another, in 6 months another, next year another [you get the idea]. I purchased my first bike at my local bike shop in Queens, but when it came to purchasing more accessories and apparel, they were a bit lacking so I decided to visit Mineola Bike. They had a HUGE selection of everything i was looking for and more. The sales team were very helpful and what i really liked was that the people selling you the bikes are actual riders who compete and or ride frequently. Many stores only sell bikes, this store really has a great team of people who know bikes.Ive always had a great experience going there along with their talented and friendly mechanics. Eventhough they are located a bit away from where I am, I ended up purchasing a brand new premium level bike from them, because I was always treated very well and knew that if anything went wrong, they would stand behind their customer and I have never been disapppointed. The owner of the shop is very reasonable and understanding of your needs and therefore I recommend this shop to all my friends, and they too agree this is the best shop theyve been to.

I would not buy it and service it here. I have my brake pad replacement here and the brake pad touching the rotor and the mechanic told me ride it for a week and it will be ok. What a joke!!!

A cross between a clown show and a Jaba the hut used car dealership. I am mostly white and the whites that work there are so quick to act like they know what theyre talking about. They showed me a decent derailleur, even though I could easily get a better one cheaper online. I didnt mind I like helping small bizzes, but I had to pay for it before I could see that they put a much cheaper one, and they didnt put the front end on. I honestly thought I was picking up my baby tricked out. They are so quick to disprove their poor management skills and but at the end of the day I hate Mineola people. I have a vendetta against crony capitalism and think its worse than witchcraft. I literally could have bought the same bike new for what they charged. They have no respect for us common folk and are so detached from reality who knows what theyre capable of. Its they kind of sociopathic behavior that leads people to mass shootings. Im living in plainview now and I will literally charge u 1 penny for labor. Im a trained automotive engineer. Seriously. Ill charge 1 penny for labor.By the way, I own a bike parts startup and was ready to partner up with them when I saw a good job done. Talk about selling your soul, u guys do it everyday.

I couldnt say enough great things about this shop! They go above and beyond for their customers. I had a problem with my fork which was a manufacturer default and they had a new fork shipped over night for me and had me racing that weekend! What other shop would do that for their customers?They also give back so much to the riding community with their bicycle club rides every week. I wouldnt go any else for sales or service!

I knew nothing about road bikes, and I was glad to find a shop that was judgement free and accommodating to my needs. Being a recent graduate from school, I had a limited budget and couldnt afford an overhaul on my bike. I wanted to improve my bike, and was looking for the best bang for the buck. The staff at the shop offered great advice on what bike parts to replace/upgrade first. I received detailed tips on how to minimally invest in my bike for maximal increase in cycling efficiency. It was nice to be able to learn directly from helpful experts, rather than scouring the internet for answers on what do I do to improve my bike? or what should I upgrade first?.You get a discount to store items if you become a club member, which I highly recommend. This shop has a very committed weekend ride crew that encompasses all skill levels. I work in CT, and Mineola is about $20 cheaper on most items (including tune-ups) than the shops in the Branford/Fairfield area.

I have been to other bycicle shops before and they didnt treat me as well as the people at mineola bycicle. Very Very Expensive! I had bought 2 new bikes (1 adult and 1 kid) from internet. I was not thrilled about the poor assembly instructions that came with these bikes.I called them to request a quote to help me assemble these two new bikes. They asked for $80-$90 for each bike. Yikes!! I was kind of appalled by their prices. I followed a simple youtube tutorial and was able to assemble it in around 20-30 mins myself. Learn alot about bike repair in the process and was glad I did it this way.Later, I thought of fine tuning my rear brakes and took my bike there to observe what they do. They charged me $27 for it. They did point out few things I had done wrong but seriously this is how much oil change costs for a car. They did not even use any parts.Also while you are there, they would try to upsell you full tuneup priced at $60+tax. Another thing I noticed while I was there was that most of their bikes are also heavily marked up.Clearly, this place if not for people who dont like to be milked or want to pay resonable premium for things.This neighborhood store has been there for years but wonders why people are taking their business to internet.
