Such a wonderful experience! Not only is the service great but everyone was so nice and accepting. The environment is diverse and it feels so homey. Dan was my barber and he was such a good conversationalist. He was so kind and accommodating. I will never go to another shop again!

I went into Bishops in Uptown with a boring bob and left with a perfect pixie cut all thanks to Dan. He made the haircut very fun and was very easy to talk to. He listened to my suggestions mid-haircut and made it perfect. My friend Shae got her hair colored there and she loves it as much as I do. I highly recommend going to Bishops and recommend choosing Dan as your regular hairdresser!!

I haven’t been to a salon during covid times yet, and someone suggested Bishops to me. Brittany gave me a great cut, and I felt very comfortable being in there with precautions they had in place!! I will definitely return for my next cut and also my next color!

Im absolutely blown away by how much I love my haircut, Dan is an absolutely amazing stylist! I felt very informed and felt like I had complete control over my haircut, Dan worked so hard to make sure I felt happy and confident with myself, and by the end of my appointment my whole day had been turned around by this appointment. I hadn’t gone in for a haircut for over a year, but after my hair started reaching down past my waist, I knew it was definitely time for a trim. Compared to most places in Uptown, Bishops was super affordable and worth every penny spent. I’m really really glad I came to Bishops for my first haircut after moving to Minneapolis!

Quick, friendly and professional is what I would call this group. For the last number of years I have simply cut my own hair, but shortly after sitting down Dre was giving me tips for scalp care. My entire experience was faster than expected for a cut and fade detailing. Dre knows his job and the staff was super friendly. I look forward to coming back again!

I followed my colorist to Bishops NE, so I knew the quality was going to be awesome. I didn’t realize how nice and the physical space would be was though! The bright orange awning makes Bishops NE really easy to find. The shop is well-lit, clean, and the wall mural is a nice touch. Professional and inviting overall, and the stylists are down to earth and friendly.

Emily did the most amazing job with my bang trim and hair coloring. I was so worried about anything and everything going wrong, but she made me comfortable and confident every step of the way and I am in love with the end result. I believe I found my new regular hair salon! Thank you so much!

The entire experience was A+ - I even bought product (which I never do). Rodney is the man - he was calm, knowledgeable, friendly and never pushy. The place itself is well designed, and their online booking was a breeze. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the neighborhood.

With COVID-19 I was a little concerned with how getting a haircut would work while wearing a mask but my stylist, Dan, was very informative and sanitary. Not only did he do a fabulous job cutting my hair but he was very friendly and gave GREAT hair advice in regards to styling, dying, and even hair loss. Ill be going there again to see Dan for my future haircuts.

Ive had two cuts here. One by Dre and the other by Skye. Both were fantastic. The only downside is that Death Bed by Powfu came on the radio during my last visit. My God is that a terrible song.

As a transgender individual, getting a haircut is always a harrowing experience for me at other places - not so much here. When I first called, Dre answered and in response to me asking if they had experience cutting trans peoples hair, he said yes and that it was a gender free zone, which I thought was cool and made me feel welcomed. I set up an appointment with JoAnn and came in a little early, but she was able to see me right away. I gave her some free reign with my hairstyle, only explaining the situation - I was having a business casual interview soon, I would be wearing a three piece suit, I wanted to cut my hair shorter and have it frame my face to look more angular/masculine. Other than that, I let her do her thing. What we ended up with is the best haircut Ive had in recent memory, its not often I leave a salon feeling both respected and in love with the new cut! It makes me look very masculine and works with my face shape, something Ive always struggled with as most short haircuts make me look softer/more feminine. But JoAnn knows what she is doing! Ive already gotten tons of compliments on it too. :) I will definitely be coming back in the future, and have already recommended this place to my other trans friends who struggle with getting their haircut somewhere where they will feel both welcomed and listened to. This place is the best! The service is awesome--the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere is chill. I get my hair cut monthly as part of my self care and I always feel and look great after coming here. I usually get a high fade and texture on top--the lines are always really clean and the blending is super smooth.Ive only been living in minneapolis for 3 years for school and I can honestly say that getting my hair cut by Emily is one of the few things that make the snow worth it. I definitely recommend getting your hair needs taken care of at Bishops and if ya need a hair cut, Emilys your girl!

I went to Bishops looking to chop off all my hair. Emily was so patient with me even though I wasnt exactly sure what I wanted. She took the time to go over different styles with me and made sure I felt comfortable. I left feeling so confident in my hair. If you are looking for a judgement free zone, I cant recommend Bishops enough!

Dre was lovely, I did a quarantine cut to myself (oops) and he fixed it up very nicely.

It was my first visit and I get pretty anxious about having my hair done. Emily was super patient and kept checking in with me how I was doing and she was super thorough and I plan to go back again. I like the walk in model of business too for flexibility. And, they are open 7 days a week and until late so it can accommodate a lot of schedules.

Love this place and my hair now! My hair stylist was Ilyana and she did such a awesome job. Fun conversations and all in all a good time!

First of all, the place is great. I walked in and was immediately offered a beer or a capri sun. Already off to a great start.My natural hair is a golden blonde, and a previous stylist tragically dyed it an extremely dark brown while I was trying to match my dirty blonde roots that had grown in quite a bit. I stripped the dye from my hair leaving me with a whole lot of red and a subtle underlying panic that Id lost my hair forever.I explained everything to Holley and listened to everything I had to say with incredible patience and knew exactly what I wanted. She then did a FANTASTIC job bringing me back to my natural color with just a full highlight and a toner. This is exactly the look I was trying to get to the first time, and I could not be happier with how naturally all the colors blend together. All the red is gone and I am blonde once again, hopefully forever this time.

Steph was awesome and super willing to both free-flow, listen, and make changes as we went. We went on an adventure in Linework and she totally delivered. Love it :)
