The owner took time to help me out with a diagnostic on my truck to make sure I got over the mountains with no trouble. Took time for me and didnt even charge me because it was a simple maintenance reset. Refused any payment at all. Great people and very responsive. I called up and was there in 20 minutes with no appointment and back on the road a few minutes later!!

Definitely felt pretty sore after this unique experience, considering this city we all are fortunate enough to live in. They were pleasant enough. Then, OMG!I was fully aware of the problem, cost of all parts & fluids used, and time it should have taken. Suddenly I discovered that $35 worth of antifreeze and oil purchased at Walmart was actually now costing $115. A $34.99 plastic antifreeze reservoir from Napa was going to cost me $89.99, a synthetic oil change for a 5 cylinder VW was costing $91. And finally, 45 minutes worth of labor for the whole package costs $190!If Id have known this was going to happen before my car was lifted and void of oil, and having had a long, frustrating day, I absolutely would have done it myself.For the actual record, it would have costed a 20 minute round trip to a parts store, about 60 minutes of my own time to do the work, and about $110 total. They charged a pretty good person a total of $258 in parts and $190 for labor for an oil change service and a simple 7-inch globe of plastic that took 5 minutes to replace.I have never ever....and never will again. Thankfully Dad covered the bill though! Neither he nor ANYONE we know will do it again either.

This company is completely disreputable. They put together a poorly built transmission for Ian Stokes in a Chevy Astro van which made here to Coeur dAlene. Under the agreement of a partner shop of ATRA, we are required to fix warranty issues on the behalf of other shops. When we got the customer back on the road these guys refused to pay use anything and stiffed us for over $1100 in uncompensated repairs. They do not stand behind their work and will refuse to man up when it comes to their warranty obligations.

My husband and I were passing through town pulling our camper when the clutch in our f250 power stroke burned out. I was able to call and speak with Brian right before close, who gave us permission to spend the night on his lot and told us he would look at the truck first thing in the morning. After taking a look, he was able to replace the clutch and a few other parts before 5pm same day and get us back on the road.We werent over charged and we were treated really well by everyone we spoke to. I would highly recommend anyone in need of transmission or auto work to give them a call. Five star service.

I just bought a car from Carvana which comes with a 7 day return window. Because it’s 7 days, I needed to get the car in for a PPI (pre purchase inspection). The car arrived on Monday and Transolution got me in Thursday. They went over everything and even showed me the fluids. My car is newer with low miles so I didn’t anticipate anything but you’re always a bit anxious and concerned about upsells. My car came back as expected with no issues and they recommended no work at this time. That’s honesty, and it’s hugely appreciated. You guys are fantastic and we have 5 vehicles that will all be taken to Transolution from now on. Also, really, really nice shop. It’s rare to see things like drinks and snacks for waiting customers anymore, but these guys take great care of people too! Thanks so so much!

The crew at Transolution went above and beyond to get us back on the road after hitting a large animal on I-90 that caused significant damage to the front of our car. We had just started out on a road trip from Washington State and we were too far from home to fix the car ourselves. We called the shop Saturday morning and they were able to work on the car that same day. They replaced the radiator and repaired the front end damage the best they could and got us back on the road by 4 pm. While we were waiting for the repairs to be completed, they even went to pick up the lunch we had ordered. The repairs saved our trip and because of the work they did, we were able to continue on to Maine and then on to North Carolina where we were able to have the rest of the repairs completed. We would have been stranded for a few days in Missoula or had to cancel our trip if the crew at Transolution hadnt helped us out. Highly, highly recommend!

Took vehicle in for rear differential rebuild - got a quote that also said I needed new brakes all around. Just had brakes inspected by another shop that showed me and told me they were at 75%. Our van blew a turbo hose while passing through Missoula and the local dealership said they wouldnt be able to even take a look at it for 7-10 days. Luckily we found the team at Transolution and they were able to take a look at the van the next morning. They had a new part ordered shortly thereafter and as soon as it arrived they had us back on the road. They did an excellent job communicating with us throughout the process and we felt their pricing was very fair.

I came to transolutions after a previous mechanic had worked on my FJ7 multiple times for the same issue 6 different times and never resolved the issue and charged me $2100.00 . There was a know TSB and they wouldnt follow to fix . But Brian and the guys did and as well found multiple other issues that the previous mechanic caused and damaged my vehicle. Were from Ohio and started having an issue with our trucks transmission. AAA towed us to transolution. They gave us misleading information. Told us we needed a whole new transmission. They wanted to charge us $4000. We decided not to do that and had AAA tow us to another shop. That shop found that all it was, was the transmission filter was bad. $200 later we were up and running on our way home. Would NOT recommend.

I guess I should have asked how long it would take to install a single lower bolt on a shock absorber. Me it takes 10 minutes tops got billed for an hour at a $125 an hour,the part cost 8 bucks. An oil change for my rental car set me back another 110 Dollars. Next time Ill take my business elsewhere.

Before you make a decision on where to take your vehicle read my review. After many years of dependence on Transolution to attend to my vehicle repair needs I once again relied upon the professionalism and expertise of Chris, Brian and the crew with my 1998 Chevrolet K1500. A crate engine was purchased from GM in January 2019. They did a clean install, but were concerned about some issues with the motor itself. After many months and expense on their part and mine, it was determined I had a bad motor (they had this assessment from day one). Chris and I had no success with attaining warranty form GM. Hint: Dont depend on your GM warranty folks for those who buy Chevy. I followed all procedures for attaining a warranty claim. Fast forward to January of this year. Chris and Brian both, because of their tenacity in desiring to get things right and make me their customer happy, agreed to rebuild the top end of this HT383E motor. I received the truck last week and it is performing flawlessly! The folks at Transolution may not be the cheapest repair shop out there, but they will get it right! AND they will stand behind their workmanship. You will get what you pay for and more! For these reasons I have relied on Transolution for the past 28 plus years; especially with this particular vehicle. NO stone is ever left un-turned in their diagnose, part selection or repair procedure. They go above and beyond the call of duty and certainly have with me in the multitude of repair/modification projects they have undertaken on my truck over the years. They are great people! Chris and Shaun have totally made my day! After breaking down 50 miles out of Missoula I had my rig towed to their shop. I drive a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder and I am from Washington traveling on memorial weekend! After calling tons of shops I thought I was dead in the water until I found them! I cannot say enough good words about Chris and the team at Transolution. I got in to town from Big Sky on a Friday night with a check engine light and a car acting up.I googled shops that were open and am so grateful that I ended up here. After a quick diagnostic check, Chris explained to me what was going on with my car - directly and respectfully (not always the case with car shops and young women). He then followed up right away on Monday as he said he would with a few additional items that should be taken care of, as well as a care plan for the next few months. With every conversation I felt like he cared about my safety and also educating me on what was going on. My family used to work in the transmission business for 2 generations in California and were an ATRA shop that’s why Transolution was my choice to get my transmission rebuilt. I highly recommend Transolution Auto Care Center. I was travelling out of town from Northern Washington for a family emergency in Southeast Idaho. I ended up breaking down on the side of the road outside of Arlee. I started calling numerous places to see if I could be seen that day. After calling 5 different mechanics and being denied, Chris from TACC told me he could get me in as long as I made it there before close. I was travelling on a limited budget. I was 6 hours away from my home, and still had 5 more hours to my destination. TACC worked with me to get me on the road within my very limited budget. Very friendly from the get go and they went above and beyond my expectations! They even gave me the care and concern I didnt expect (due to my circumstances)If you want somewhere that gives quality service, care and treats you like their own, Transolution Auto Care Center is the place you want to go!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor customer service and over priced services. I brought my car in for an emissions test, which I realize is not required by the state of Montana for registration, but I had to register my car in a place that did require it. When I had the test done in Oregon a couple years ago, it costed roughly $40, and took all of 3 minutes to complete the job. While I realize that their setup is different here because they don’t often do this job, they charged me $125 and wasted 35 minutes of my time when I know it doesn’t take that long. I had an appointment, so the issue was not me dropping in unannounced and hoping to get in and out. I was also the only person in the waiting room: so the person with the appointment should be the priority when there are other less time-sensitive projects needing attention. Finally, the service was very disappointing. I sat and watched the receptionist talk on the phone the entire time I was in the waiting room, and I had to be the one to walk up and check on the status of my car. She did not help me, but the mechanic who had worked on my car went to the printer by her desk, grabbed my paperwork and did her job while she continued to talk on the phone. Once it was time to pay, she answered the phone again and proceeded to “chat” and make small talk with the person on the other line for about 3 minutes while I stood there staring at her with my card in hand, ready to pay. After waiting 35 minutes for a 10 minute (max) job, I did not appreciate being made to wait for her to finish her casual phone conversation.

Took pickup here bc Dodge wanted like $1000 to fix. They charged $600 and I had to go back 3 times. Leaked, didn’t put seal in right, Forgot to put bolts in and I could not go back the fourth time. . I’ll fix it myself. They talked bad about the other previous mechanics that worked on my truck, how they did shady stuff..I won’t be back.

They were able to fix what we knew needed repaired and then had the foresight to replace anything needed to prevent more costly repairs in the future. I had taken my car to another Missoula shop and had a very bad experience, so I towed my car to Transolution. They were very helpful, quick, and even found a used part to lower the cost. I have done basic work on cars before and while I am absolutely not a mechanic, they did not talk down to me like other shops do.I have found my go to shop.

I went there because the night before I drove over a dead dear and it clipped on a plastic under the car and needed two bumper clips put back to fasten it. One of the bumper clips was there it only needed one more, clearly a job for 5 minutes all together. I didnt expected paying more than $10 for that kind of labor but they guys quoted $40, which was unacceptable and a rip off, went to Big sky shop and they got it fixed for $10

These guys were great to deal with, our truck broke down while we were on vacation passing through Missoula. It was a Saturday morning and they were the only shop open and were willing to try and diagnose the problem as quickly as possible and get us back on the road after we had our truck towed to their shop. Unfortunately the problem ended up being our fuel pump and they couldn’t get the parts until the following Monday morning. Jarred gave our family a ride with all of our stuff to our motel after talking over and deciding what needed to be done with our truck. As soon as they opened for business on Monday they started on our truck putting it before their other projects they had in the shop. They were honest and courteous and even helped us unload and load our camping gear we had in the bed of the truck because the bed had to be removed in order to access the fuel tank. They got our truck repaired quickly and called us as soon as it was done. Thanks to all the staff for your hard work! If I know of anyone coming from Utah to Missoula and they have car troubles I’ll definitely recommend Transolution👍

Another slimy shop taking advantage on my wife. My wife took our car in there to get oil changed and when she left discovered an extra $50 added to the bill. The bill said that it was for a brake check, which she never asked for. I called from work to talk with them and the guy on the line first denied it then found it and said..”um well that wasn’t really what it was for it was for an extra 4 quarts of oil that we forgot to charge you for last time you where in”. The last time we had our oil changed there was two years ago. Fellas make sure to not send your wives or daughters there and ladies this is the type of place that gives all these places a bad name. Beware!

This place is crazy! I asked for a quote for U-Joint replacement on an 02 Excursion. Started off by asking what makes you think they need to be replaced? Fair question, though kinda rude. Then, needed my license plate number and vin. I assume they dont trust customers when they tell them their year/make/model? License plate number makes no sense at all as Ive never had my vehicle in there before. Said they would call back with a quote. 24 hours later, no call. I called and they said oh ya, were busy and have to get this quote done by a technician. No apology for not returning call, still no quote for a VERY simple 1 hour job. She said: Well get that to you as soon as we can and gave no indication that it would be this week or even this year. Called another business, quoted in 30 seconds with no rude/strange questions. Taking it there instead. Im too busy for people are too busy for extra business.

Ive had my transmission serviced, u-jonts replaced, as well as had my transfer case rebuilt on my diesel truck. Everything went well, and the new t-case works great. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend Transolution to anyone. Im getting more work done on the front end (tie rods etc) this week, and Im excited to take it back to a good local shop.

Think I was screwed over. Took my van in to get the $19.99 Oil Change from a flyer I got in the mail, then they found my fan relay assembly might not be working. Ended up costing me more than $300 to get everything done. After looking up the cost of the relay online, they charged me more than double for the part (I expect mark up but not 200% of retail price). Then they charged me for the entire time my vehicle was in the garage - I paid for the time it took for the oil change twice plus the time waiting for the part to get there and installed. Then they told me to come back later to get more work done on my transmission. I think they overcharged me because I am younger looking and they thought I wouldnt question anything - despite young people being more likely to place online reviews. So in total, I think I overpaid ~$50 for the part and ~$70 in labor. In total I basically paid $310 for an oil change. ($120 of which was unnecessary) Summary: A good deal in the mail that seems too good to be true, is probably too good to be true.

I am a single woman who knows nothing about fixing cars. I have brought many vehicles to Transolution. They are awesome. They never treat me like a silly girl who doesnt know cars. They treat me with respect, explain things clearly, show me on the lift whats wrong with my car, and answer questions in a language I can understand. Ladies, no need to be intimidated or feel youll be taken advantage here. Love these guys and highly recommend!

The turnaround for an 09 mini cooper clutch assembly was 2.5 days. Remarkable

We were having problems with out Freestyle transmission. When we brought it to other places, they suggested we might need to rebuild the entire transmission. We took it here initially because they were ATRA certified. They pulled the transmission and fixed the problem without needed to do a rebuild. They also worked with out aftermarket warranty to reduce the cost of the service. We will be taking the Freestyle here for any problems in the future. I would recommend them for transmission work.

My truck needed the transmission rebuilt so I took it to Transolution. Was quoted $3800 to do the rebuild with some upgrades for towing. Several weeks later I received a call to let me know I owed them over $5000. Needless to say I was not happy and told Chris I had budgeted for $3800 and did not have $5000. I was told I would not be allowed to collect my vehicle until I paid in full. It turns out the extra cost was because they did repairs on my vehicle that I never authorized. When I asked for my old parts back, one of which was a starter, they could not find them and they had stripped the starter and sold it for scrap, so I had to pay full price for the starter because they did not turn it in to get the core charge back and they profited from the copper they scrapped out of it.I brought my truck back in for the 500 mile checkup a couple of weeks later, I had not been having any problems at all, and the mechanic advised me it was missing and seriously under powered. I dismissed what the mechanic said as I had just driven it over 60 miles to get to the shop with no problems. I did not make it even 1 mile from the shop and the truck died and would not run. Had it towed back to the shop and was told the CPM computer was not sending any signals, but they didnt know how to reboot it and they wanted Chris to look at it the next day. I called the shop the next day to find out what was going on with it and was told two of the injectors were bad and it probably needed the engine rebuilt, which was going to be probably $5000-$6000. I asked about the original diagnosis of the CPM not working and was told the mechanic didnt know what he was talking about. I was so frustrated at this point I decided to take my truck to the Ford dealership. It turns out my fuel pump was bad.

12/2017 Update: I went back to Transolutions for some needed brake and transmission service. Once again I had stellar service, and I will be going there for work I need in the future. They do great work in a timely fashion, and are awesome to deal with.——————————-I had a great experience with Transolutions. My SUV ended up needing a major repair, and I really couldnt have asked for better service. Their point person, Katherine, was wonderful and frequently communicated with me about the status of my vehicle. I spoke with the mechanic (I wish I could remember his name), and he took his time to explain the issue with me.Sometimes you just get a good feeling about people or a business. . . Thats how I felt with Transolutions and the two people I dealt with directly. I will definitely recommend them to friends and family and use them again.

Thought about taking my vehicle here, but Ive seen their company rig driving around with Trump stickers on it. Nuf said! No clue why a company would associate themselves with that maniac and alienate the majority of Missoula.

I went into Transolution to have my transmission fluid changed. So far I have not experienced any complications or issues related to this service. In fact, my transmission does appear to be operating noticeably better since the fluid change. The price point was a bit high in my opinion ($258.45), but the $50 coupon off a service of $250 brought it back into range with the competition.What did frustrate me was their additional recommended services when the job was done. I knew there was an issue with something related to a belt, pulley or perhaps the compressor. They showed me that my timing belt needed to be changed, which it was notably cracking and obviously at the end of its life. For that they quoted me around $600. Then they suggested I replace the serpentine belt (which I had done only 20,000 miles ago) along with the water pump since they were already in there, all for a grand total of around $900. I appreciate their suggestions as they can all be replaced during a timing belt replacement job. However my frustration came when I went to Bitterroot Motors and requested a quote for the job. They quoted me $460 for parts AND labor to replace the timing belt. I was shocked they were lower! I asked if they thought I should replace a 20K mile serpentine belt (they said no) or the water pump (they would look to make sure it wasnt seeping, but if there was nothing notably wrong, they wouldnt recommend replacing it). They said if the water pump needed to be replaced it would cost around $260, for a grand total of around $720. I plan to inquire with Transolution as to why they are so much higher in cost than the dealership before making my final decision. But this does certainly draw me to pause before committing my vehicle to further repairs at Transolution.

Can not say enough good things about John and Brian! We were traveling from Nebraska when our transmission started slipping. We called them on a Saturday afternoon and they told us to stop in and they would check things out. Sure enough our transmission was shot. Brian took us to the back and showed us on a transmission he was working on what had gone bad in ours and really talked us through all of our options, answered my millions of questions and told us to call with any other questions we had. We decided with the year of our pickup we would probably just try to trade it off but they told us if we decided differently they would get us in and get it fixed. Thank you guys so much for answering the phone on a Saturday afternoon when no one else in town would!

I wrote on the paper if It goes over 500$ to stop because I didnt have the money and the truck wasnt worth it. Got there to pick it up and was told I had to.pay 1350. Will never go again...

I have brought two vehicles through Transolution. Originally, I was referred there by my father. On my older car, a set of chambers for my spark plugs had burned out and the tranny needed an induction service. When posed the question of What needs to be fixed now and what can wait? The owner outright said the spark plugs need fixed. They gave me a quote on the price, (The vehicle was a 95 and the same part had been outdated so new system needed.) After I received the quote I called 4 other repair shops in town. Every single one was 200-400 over what Transolution offered.With my second vehicle, an 08 Dodge Avenger, there is an error with the intake Manifold. A set of air control flaps is not quite working right. For the Diagnostic time that took 2.5 hours, they provided the answer and only charged for the labor, about 110. When quoted the full cost for the repair, David, (The front counter person...very nice guy), stated that he would take the 110 off of the quoted price. So I am now paying 110 less on the repair costs than I would have. Most places would charge the 110 and the repair costs together, for this incident the repair was quoted at 920 to replace the manifold and do an induction service. Transolution total pricing 920, most other shops, 1130.....Decision made. Only place in Missoula I will take my vehicles for repair.

TranSolution Automotive is the best repair facility in Missoula. They are honest., straight shooters, (no b.s.) fair, and repair your vehicle so that you can rest at ease about what has been done.The last two reviews are not only unfair, but in my honest opinion false information. I have been a claims estimator for 25 years with a large insurance company, and I would bet my paycheck this firm is the repair facility you need to become customers with. They are absolutely trust worthy.

Very freindly knowledgable service, only shop in Missoula I could find to do alignment on 2011 BMW. I will definitely be a repeat customer. Love the shop dog, Champ.

I brought my BMW Z3 in for warning lights that kept going off. I found out that mice had made a nest inside my car, and had a hey day chewing all my wires. Chris had to diligently search for parts, not easily done, on an older model BMW (all kinds of red tape). The little convertible is my toy and I was hesitant to bring it anywhere, except here. Transoulutions, has previously worked on my 4Runner, and what I thought to be a transmission problem, turned out only to be plugs, a difference of thousands of dollars. The honesty and integrity that I receive from this company will bring me back with any and all automotive problems that may come up. Feel secure with your cars and trucks, they will be in very good hands.

Worst experience Ive ever head. Rates are beyond exorbitant. Mechanics are rude, condescending, and liars. They took forever to fix what theythought might be the problem and in the process they drained my battery and destroyed my clutch. When I confronted them about this they tried to blame me and were just short of hostile. And then they still had the nerve to try and get me to bring my vehicle back to them.

BAD workmanship...was quoted a price then billed double. They dont install the part correctly. Went back twice and still not right. Plus they broke my battery cable. DO NOT GO THERE!!!!!!

June2018: originally from virginia, my friend and i were driving cross country and were outside missoula when late friday night we discovered that our 98 ford econoline van had a fairly major gas leak. after a brief google search, we saw that very few shops in town were open on weekends, except for transolution auto care. chose it by default, but am so happy we did. brought my van in as soon as they opened saturday morning and by noon we were all ready to go, back on the road, gas leak repaired :) my friend and i spent the whole time in their comfortable lounge area, sipping on complimentary coffee and hot cocoa, and chatting with fellow customers about sights to see while visiting montana. very friendly staff and informative mechanics. our accompanying canine friend was also allowed to sit with us in the lounge. coming to a dog friendly shop was definitely a plus, along with their fair/upfront pricing and timely service. would highly recommend this shop to others, and if im ever back in missoula and needing car repairs, this is the spot i will go. ***** five stars, indeed.

Quick, friendly, professional service, just with an unfortunate outcome.My vehicle had been overheating idle. Apparently my truck had a clutch fan that was burned out. They were very prompt and friendly with diagnosing the problem and I thought It was excellent how they explained to me the problem and described it so even a dummy with vehicles could understand.This was over the fourth weekend, so the fact that they were working was very convenient. The truck held up when driving to flathead and back to bozeman. Unfortunately, when I got back to bozeman my vehicle began to overheat again. I had it checked at a local auto shop and they said the part was spinning idle and not cooling. Luckily it was covered over warranty so they gave transolution a call and got the information.Overall: Friendly, professional service but was a little sad to see I had to get it fixed again. I understand the faulty part was not in their control however so I do not fault them for it!
