This Guitar Center is a really great place to do business. Ive been a fairly steady customer at this store for about 8yrs now, and I find it to be a very pleasant and fun place to shop. The employees that work there are all awesome professional and very knowledgeable. Im always doing business with the same couple of employees in guitars, and percussions sales, really great guys. Ive also done business with the other sales personnel, and no matter who it is, I have always been welcomed by name and treated with total respect. I have never had a real problem with something that wasnt easily handled in a timely manner, nor have I ever had a bad experience doing business at this Guitar Center. Im a picky customer, but I can honestly say that the employees at this Guitar Center have gone above and beyond for me throughout the years keeping me a satisfied customer. I only come here to get strings or accessories quick, for that its great. Their repair service is a joke I took my guitar to get its input jack repaired and they did not do a good job the guitar sounds bad and the pickup selector doesnt work or any of the knobs either. No volume control or anything. Not worth the $40.

Small. 50 guitars. Just enough employees to still be slow, unresponsive, even with eye contact. I always find that weird. I get it.... sometimes I forget Im at work to. At least ask me why Im staring at you. And the only reason Im not saying it...... cause I need you brother. Cant start it off on the wrong foot as a customer. I may have never been told that the floor model amp I wanted to get was literally stacked like a pony wall behind me.*ok... so Im not always the shiniest penny in the cup holder myself*Overall very helpful and I was in and out with what I came for. And I didnt have to enjoy my mask breath for to long. Thanks for hanging in there GC.

The staff here are NOT helpful. I was picking up an online order and could not get anyone to help me. The store was not busy at all. Then after 10 minutes and being ignored several times I was able to get help. The staff are NOT friendly and the associate that brought me my order was irritated because I asked if he could carry the box to the car. Good thing I didnt do curbside pickup.-who knows how long they would have taken.

My granddaughter found what she was looking for, I do not understand about music, but it was good speriance.

Do not, under any circumstance do business with this store. Their confidence in the products they sell ends when you exit the store. They will not stand behind any product they sell including strings. And the manager Sean is neither customer friendly or concerned about retaining long time customers. No wonder the company stock is plummeting. Stay away from this store.Update: I have done as you asked. Lets see what happens.Update: Did exactly as was requested of me. Three days later, nothing...Update: It is now 4/26 and the management of this store has done nothing to rectify a defective product. No contact, no follow up, no concern about a customer. The polite and seemingly concerned comment in response to this review from corporate is worthless and simply a PR smokescreen. I will be adding to this review as time goes on.Update: 5/4/21. Still nothing.

You know, all things considered, simply go in to purchase equipment/instruments from this location. Great staff, but the online ordering has some kinks for sure. Still though, great store.

A great stop for musicians, one of my favorites

Its a great place to come and experience different instruments types of music genres excetera. What do you want to try out one of the new guitars check out The Sound Room get on the drums check out the keyboards. Its also great place to get all your equipment restringing for entire guitars drop it off they have it done pretty quickly. They did an excellent job on my last one. That was fierce pretty cool laid-back seems a little bit cliquish think they could be a little more friendly to people that might not be in the same Realm.

I went looking for dj equipment, not a great selection. No problem with merchandise returns or exchanges. They sent my exchange directly to my house.

Its not a bad place. Just go expecting to get an adequate customer experience. They dont always know everything, most are new, so if you need an expert youll probably want to ask the guitar tech or your friend who tinkers. Im usually that guy so I try to boost their confidence at the store, give them hints when theyre lost, or give them some positive feedback if they dont have an answer.

Store is messy at times they usually have more in stock than it looks like. Fair prices

Kind of crazy that a Guitar Center in the desert is better stocked than a Guitar Center in the central valley. I am not sure how bad the chapter 11 bankruptcy mixed with less people going out is hurting stock or if someone at corporate is just holding back, but this store did not have much available. Might be better to order off the website or Musicians Friend (also owned by Guitar Center) if you have something particular in mind or order it from the store. I will say that they did have a fairly healthy stock of acoustic guitars, so they got that going for them.

If you need something, they probably have it. Great costumer service. Dont expect the cheapest prices

Came in to buy an electric guitar. Weston and the 3 other staff that I talked to were very helpful and kind. Although I play (using the term loosely) acoustic guitar and uke I consider myself a beginner still and had lots of questions. Being an important decision/investment for me, I took my time trying guitars, amps and looking at accessories. All were very patient with me and informative. I appreciate the awesome experience and am happy with my purchase!

The best place to somebody need buy a musical instruments, theres instruments to test and some equipments to appreciate.

Needed to return a few things that were no longer needed and werent used. Transaction was quick and easy.

Friendly, knowledgeable employees. The product I was interested in purchasing was out of stock. Guitar Center placed an order for the product to be delivered right to my house for free. YAY

These are my guys right here I drove way from another city actually into another county to go here I got previous stuff here these guys are the coolest guys in the world theyre very helpful you know most of the stores now look like theyre going out of business but these guys man I got my stuff in two or three days they ordered it for me right there at the counter everything was good and Im definitely going to go back

Smaller than any other guitar center ive been too. And ive been in alot of guitar centers lol.Staff is reasonably knowledgable and polite, place is mildy understaffed tho and it shows in peak hours. Avoid busier parts of the day.

If it says something is in store rest assured it most definitely is not in store.plus nothing like being charged full price for an electric drum set that was brought back missing kick pad for bass drum.took it back after bringing it home.it was a return and should not be charged full price cuz best buy even gives open box discounts but not guitar center

This is the first time in Modesto but I have been to the one in Richmond or was it Elcerito.

More guitars than I could play in a day. I didnt even peek into the pro audio or acoustic guitar rooms. They have soundproof practice rooms for private lessons. I really appreciate their 45day exchange policy. When I realized the instrument I purchased didnt match my playing style, they invited me to hang around & try out as many as I felt like to take home what I really wanted.

Walked in to buy a bass head and was told my home made mask wasnt good enough. My mask is thicker then there paper blue mask that his dirty hands were touching. So me and my 10 year old daughter left and wont be back

These guys helped me get everything that I needed for my home studio and made suggestions where I was unfamiliar and allowed me to make the choice without feeling pressured. Product that was sold to me did not work, I wanted to exchange it, but they had none, so I requested a refund, I had receipt.The kid started giving me attitude for not wanting to wait for the shipment to come in.I told him I live near Yosemite and it too far to travel back here, he started giving me more attitude saying they could mail it, but mail is not the best up there and I just want a refund, so I can get it at another store, some other customer or off duty employee started putting his two cents in and the sale clerk started to chuckle and said something under his breath and proceeded to give me my money.What a hassle.

Slim guitar selection. Ordered a hard shell guitar case off the website, and so I brought it on to exchange for one that fit. They did not have a single case to fit my Warlock

NEVER AGAIN......I recently purchased a new Gibson Les Paul Studio Guitar from Musicians Friend, which is owned by Guitar Center. The guitar shipped out of Guitar Center in Modesto, CA. The guitar I received looks like a used Demo. model, and it is missing all of the usual Gibson accessories that come with a new guitar. The soft guitar case is also damaged. Everything shipped in a plain cardboard box, and not a Gibson factory box. For a $1,500+ purchase, I would expect a lot better service than this. Buyer beware, this place will rip you off!

Great place for instruments

Very helpful and knowledgeable. They were extremely kind and respectful with my 70 year old schizophrenic brother who loves guitars and music. He was nervous and talkative but wanted desperately to get guitar with “special” strings. They knew exactly what he was talking about and saved my day.

Has a warehouse feeling to it. The staff is hit and miss some are very knowledgeable and some are just great customer service people. Overall I like the store.

Employees are so busy its hard to get assistance. I told the guy working in their today, if you dont want to help me, you dont have to. He was being kinda rude towards me and their prices are marked wrong two different prices for the same item.

Im pretty sure it would be a lot better if covid-19 wasnt happening. That at being said they had some nice guitars but some of the guitars were missing a Floyd rose that were hanging on the wall or missing the bottom e string part thats apart of the floyd rose. Some guitars had loose volume nobs. Just wasnt really presentable if you ask me.

When we visited, the normally excellent customer service took a while, but one particular clerk was very helpful once we found her. The store was very busy and the clerks very busy talking to each other across the store about non-work related things (lunch, parties, etc). Honestly a little disappointed this visit...not up to the usual standards. I only rated it 4 stars because of the one very helpful and attentive clerk.

The staff is amazing. The lessons are fantastic! My kids love the teachers. They offer a wide variety of services, instruments, and lessons.

Walls covered in guitars and great prices abound. If you like music and musicians this will be your Nirvana. Someone is always trying out a guitar when ever I visit. Friendly helpful staff, great prices, great selection, I had to give this place 5 stars.

I went in needing a snare drum for a student. Dont know anything about them but the associate was very knowledgeable and helpful. He effortlessly answered by questions on the performance of the product, the replacement coverage plan, and alternative options. I had a great experience and if the need arises it will be the first place I go.

Our favorite place for all things music. The staff is absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable, products are almost always available and if not can be ordered immediately. Bought my granddaughter her first Pearl drum set. I put it together but never tuned a drum. I took it into the Guitar Center where they have a huge drum section.Even though they dont have a service department Weston tuned it and set her up for a free intro class. Thanks for a great start!

You get all or most of the Peases you need to fix your get fittel.

Sometimes its not easy to get help here, but a little patience is not much to ask. So Im overall happy with the knowledgeable help and attention I receive. My son has had his bass fixed here. My most recent visit was to get his acoustic bridge reglued, it was a better value to buy him a step up new guitar instead. So thats what we did after my son played them and chose his new model.

I havent been to guitar center in a while. If you like full body tattoos and face piercing then this is the place for you. I just needed a guitar patch chord and I stood at the checkout for the better part of a half hour to pay for my guitar chord and I was first in line. There was two guys behind the counter. I was wishing they had self checkout so I could pay and go. I felt uncomfortable and invisible here.

The store has changed over the years. They now offer lessons and have added private lesson rooms. The staff is friendly and usually well informed of their dept. looking into getting piano lessons for my 9yo next month. Will update how that goes.
