I always go to this feed store to support local business as I am a local pet groomer in our lovely city. I buy products here at a higher price, on Amazon they are obviously cheaper just to support locally!! I purchased a spray bottle of magic sheen by the time I got home it had all leaked out into my trunk. I took it back right away, the owner gives me a dirty look and says is this my fault? I walked out without my $ or product. As a business owner you bite the bullet sometimes bud! Yes it is your fault that the product was obviously damaged/leaking it was $13 but I’ll never go back and support your business.

Went in to see if they sold grown chickens. They do,bought a nice red hen from a selection of about a dozen birds. Lots of items for horses here, much of it english. Alot of large ranch items outside from feeders to fencing and then some. Feed for about anything youre feeding and a small selection of dog items such as leashes and collars. Mostly horse tack and english riding gear and clothes. Interesting store to browse in.

The one feed store that has homemade farm supplies like nesting boxes, coups, etc.. All you need to do is ask a question to be off and rolling with one of the two exceptionally experienced ranch hands to aid you with your needs. The store has everything for all animals, livestock and ranch.

Ive been going here for as long as I can remember. Used to come as a child for chicken feed and dog food. Ive continued to buy my animal feed here ever since. The store is well organized with a really good variety of products. The prices are in line and in many cases cheaper than the national chain stores. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Always have been!!! Ill be coming here until the day I die. To the staff and owners: thank you for keeping this community Icon going all these years. Youre a part of Modestos history. Bought shavings for my guinea pig, I asked if theyre kiln dried and I was told yes. No were on the packaging says and when I opened the package it was very dusty and moist[ even with the rain the compressed packaging looked like it was sweating]. Not what I wanted and a waste of product because I cant use it.

We needed a riding helmet for daughter and the girl there was so sweet and was so much help!

I wouldn’t recommend coming to them for Hay. There is a lot of Garbage in the hay and A LOT of small/medium pieces of cement. My horse’s tooth is now Chipped badly and extremely sharp because of their Hay.

The people here are cheerful and helpful. They have collectible horses adorning a wall. Their chicks are in commercial brooders and look very fat and happy. They have nice looking large chicken houses.

I have been here a few times. Most recently I bought a chicken coop and some chickens. Unfortunately the chicken coop is not very well made. For example, during this high heat that we are currently experiencing, I hosed off the outside of the chicken coop to cool it down and found out that the roof leaks! In multiple places all over the ceiling, water comes down onto the birds and inside their little building. Not good, especially considering the price. Previously I bought wine barrels and that was a good deal.

I love the convenience right in the city outskirts rather than having to drive far out to other places. For a small place they have a nice selection of needed things for our horses, chickens, dogs and more. They provide helpful friendly service. I have depended on them for feed for years.

A quaint feed and supply store. The gentleman that assisted me was nice but seemed in a rush - the store was not busy at all. I would NOT recommend buying chicks from this place! I purchased 45 chicks and the next day 14 were dead. I called and he did let me come back in for replacements but within the week all 45 I had gotten died. I would only recommend purchasing feed and or supplies here, however they are a bit more pricey then others.

Looking for pumice for soil landscaping. This use has multiple uses but one for succulents and cactus soil to keep airated. The store clerk wasnt aware of the uses. So didnt get any and left empty handed. However, a friend had recently purchased a bag or two from there. It was just a case of unexperienced staff that didnt have the knowledge about it. ..Otherwise, a beautiful old store off of Mchenry. Will try again later in a few weeks. Im sure once we both connect, the clerk and customer will be more knowledgeable.

This is a great merchant, strictly feed and tack and they know the difference between a cockerel and a pullet. When I bought chicks from that tractor place they had the bin of Rhode Island Red cockerels labled as Red Color Linked layers. What I purchased as egg producers turned out to be some very agressive roosters ... no apologies ir compensation from the tractor store management.
